>Uh, check-check it
>We are the Hunter Crew

>We are the Hunter Crew
>Make the bounties say, "Nooo!" and our aim stay true

Anyone who has seen the new film, are these AT-Megacalibur Sixes better than the Self Propelled Heavy Artillery from the Clone Wars?

Also, how the heck is the Heavy Artillery classified as Artillery exactly?

It can't even aim the gun down at the battlefield and it has no mode to arc shots in an indirect manner.

Seems like that thing was only good for shooting at either very tall fortifications and structures, or fleeing warships.

What are some really out there fleet tactics that a Rebel (or Imperial) admiral could employ? I’m talking Jojo levels of nonsensical ruseing here.

Somehow hyperspace jump into a huge enemy ship, without destroying yourself on their hyperdrive shadow, and then that somehow blows the entire side of their ship off and also magically kills a bunch of star destroyers that were behind it

Nice.

Besides the obvious, I meant.

Saw the most recent film then, huh?

A heavy blaster and jetpack should take me pretty far as a bounty hunter right?

You could take a page from the greatest admiral in scifi history: a Rebel or Imperial admiral realizes enemy capital ships can no longer fire if you clog their turbolaser batteries with wreckage.

anyone have stats for the arquiten?
it looks like a good beginner foe for a party, before they move up to ISDs
i am saving the imperial raider for when the party already attracts enough imperial attention

user, why was it that Fett got his target while all the other bounty hunters failed?
He was able to track Solo.

What does a heavy blaster and a jetpack have to do with tracking?

Mobile Suits

...

Has anyone flown the kimogila yet? Is it any good?

...

>tfw no qt Imperial technicians to flirt with as you wait for repairs

I have a question and I am sorry if this has been asked before.

So I plan to run a game where one of the players will unknowingly start as force sensitive. I want it to be a surprise for that one player and have them slowly turn into a full fledged Jedi eventually.

So how do you go about changing a character from Ace to Jedi? While I do want them to keep certain aspects of that class that maybe mostly utility but I do want it change to whatever Jedi Career they so choose. This whole thing is almost exactly like KOTOR.

Anyone done this before? I can't imagine I am the only person ever . Because I am pretty much just thinking of just bending the rules so that they can have the 2nd career. Just not sure how I'd handle things like how many points should they get initially and so on.

Did you not read the book? And you call yourself a GM.

To be honest it's been a very long time since I read any of the books. So I am probably missing something.

Well reread them. You can easily dual class in the game.

Which system? I'm assuming Saga from the wording.

It's actually the FFG RPGs.

So edge of the empire, force and destiny, etc.

Oh, you just buy into a second career.

Got it.

Then I am just an idiot. I'll just follow Advice and re-read them. I was planning to do so but scanning them I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks gang.

Which box has the Maarek Stele card? TIE Interceptor?

There's one in the Advanced and one in Imperial Veterans

Anyone have deckplans/layout for the Crusader-class Corvette?

Huh, I don't think I got Stele in my Imperial Aces kit. Not seeing him in my deck.

I'm probably going to be getting into X-Wing again and I have a MIGHTY NEED to use Maarek Stele in a TIE Defender.

He's not in Aces. He's in Veterans. Aces is just Interceptors, Veterans is Defender and Bomber

Oh, shit, right.

Thank you, user.

...

Not sure. They don't get to do much in the film.

>F=ma is magic

You plow into the ship at FTL speed, you're gonna do some damage. You're also going to shred the fuck out of your own ship, but the shrapnel from both your own ship and the impact against the enemy ship is going to get thrown with great force in the same direction you were going. If there are other ships behind the ship you hit, they're gonna get sprayed with huge chunks of metal traveling very very fast. Probably not a happy day for them.

From the last time I tried to explain my group's plan to /swg/...

>What are some really out there fleet tactics
Kamikaze into the bridges of capital ships.
Boarding in the middle of combat.
Deploying AT-ATs on the hull for extra fire power.
Leaking false info about a weak spot on your big-fucking-ship.
Starting a fight in low orbit where burning up in the atmosphere is a distinct possibility.

The ramming ship's CO was not a good friend

The plan was to piss off and lure every pirate, slimelord, smuggler, dog-breeder, horse-trader, cattle-rustler, and lunatic with a ship, then lure them all into the middle of the Imperial armada. In the clusterfuck to escape, negotiate, and change sides the PCs would sneak aboard by crashing a grain barge into the side of the Executor.

The actual plan they ended up using is far sillier.

Heavy blaster, jetpack, and a good plan. Otherwise you're just a dead guy with a fancy backpack.

Without a plan, without information, you are nothing.

You can buy into any specialization you want if you have the XP to do it. It's easy. If it's a non-career specialization it costs an extra 10 XP, that's it. Once you're in the specialization, all of that specialization's skills become career skills for you, and talents just cost their normal price.

You can't change careers, but the XP penalty on non-career specializations is small enough that there's really no point changing careers anyway. At most it means it might take you one more session before you get into that spec you wanted.

The REAL trick is how you get Force rating, because the Force and Destiny specializations do NOT give you Force rating when you buy into them. They have it as a later talent to increase your rating, but that's gonna take a while. The reason the specializations don't start you with Force rating 1 is because the FaD careers all start you there anyway.

So what do you do to get Force rating? Well, Edge of the Empire has the Force-Sensitive Exile universal specialization representing someone who had the Force but tried to hide it away after the rise of the Empire, basically cut themselves off but is now cultivating those skills again. Age of Rebellion has the Force-Sensitive Emergent, which is more appropriate to a character newly discovering their Force abilities. Since these are universal specializations, you don't take the non-career penalty when buying them.

Have the player take one of these, probably Emergent, as they discover their Force abilities, then progress in that for a while before grabbing FaD specializations.

Also, make sure you work all this out with the player ahead of time. Have it be a surprise for the CHARACTER, not the player. You want to make sure the player is going to be down for it, willing to go Force-sensitive, because if you spring that potential on them and they say "nah, I don't want to", you're up shit creek with no paddle.

I like the girl cosplaying as an R2 unit in the background.

It's probably a sex thing.

Underrated ship coming in.

What Legends characters does /swg/ miss the most?

Every single Wraith.

>Miss

They all still exist. They may not be getting new stories, but they still exist.

That said, Mara Jade, Gilead Pellaeon, and Corran Horn.

*Gilad

Goddammit.

Thrawn, Zsinj, Umak Leth, Selendriss (because he told Palpatine to fuck off on the Vader statue thing), Danetta Pitta (he out fought an Executor class with a Torpedo Sphere), and Victor Strang.

Durge. Nothing beats a Shoggoth in power armor

Nice, what ship ios that? Reminds me of an EVE Amarr war ship.

The Wraiths

Hutt character named Borvo in the N64 game Battle for Naboo used it as his personal barge.

His henchmen used some neat-looking fighters, too.

How does this sound for some writefagging: an Imperial agent goes undercover in a gang that may or may not be affiliated with the Rebellion. When the gang wants him to break into a building and steal some corporate records, he's pulled between his mission and a girlfriend who doesn't know his real identity that wants him to be safe.

I doubt those AT-M6's are equivalent to a dedicated anti-ship cannon. I have to wonder what the fuck the Crait door is made of though.

Finally saw the movie. Didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. Firmly a 5/10 for me. That being said, Admiral tumblr can eat a bag of dicks.

Eh, I think it's less Admiral Tumblr and more that's she's in the Red Hat Society.

Really the name artillery is its acronym is something of a misnomer, its other mass driver or concusiion missile variants would function better as normal artillery.

They are very useful in their role as a self propelled assault gun, not only can it target warships supporting a planetary assault in low atmosphere (which is a relatively common tactic) it excells at destroying enemy fortifications or vehicle formations over the horizon of regular Imperial tanks due to its raised profile

Its role becomes more similar to that of a mobile turbolaser than a dedicated self propelled artillery vehicles, which would be done by its repulsor self propelled artillery, or its successor the Self-Propelled Medium Artillery (SPMA)

General Rom Mohc was /ourguy/ and made objectively better battle droids than any star wars faction

Pretty much all of KotoR, with Kreia's perspective on the Force in particular. Everybody is shitting themselves over "Rey so stronk female character" but they ignore the wealth of the EU.

Nice, those are cool looking space ships.
Any info about the ships or are only in that game?

I don't want to hate her character because the actress was the JP cutie botanist, but man they made her unlikable.

Dark Troopers are the shit

Unfortunately, there's pretty much nothing on them outside of the games.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Borvo_the_Hutt's_freighter

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Borvo_the_Hutt's_starfighter

They're fun thought fuel, though.

How does one get started in x-wing in the scum faction if I wanna do a list based around the punishing one?

We make cheapest battle droids*, you buy 500,000 we throw in free Munificent frigate!
*Batteries not included

Ordered a TIE Silencer because I don't have a Starviper yet (or any Autothrusters as a result) and it sure seemed kickass in the movie.

Anyone know if it's any good on the table yet?

Maybe the same alloy as the hull of a starship?

>Rey so stronk female character
How’s she supposed to be one? Does she grow or develop enormously? Does she have super strong convictions she always sticks to?

The hulls of starships explode all the time.

>Does she have super strong convictions she always sticks to?
The point is that she starts off as a fanatic and is slowly losing certainty and faith.

That's why she can do mind tricks right off the bat. That's why the island is useless to her. She doesn't need calisthetics and yoga. She already believes. She's already certain. Her gnostic starting point is where Luke ended up.

But she's slowly moving away from fanaticism and into doubt. The arc will bend back in movie 3 as her doubts overwhelm her and are resolved by the aid of a failed Jedi master.

Her arc is the mirror of Luke's arc.

Plo Koon's was yellow, man (also in a comic or two, I think?). It was Luke's that was green.

I liked the Solo kids and Ben, desu. Especially non-Vong stories where they're teen/grown-ups.

>She already believes. She's already certain
>believing the Force and Luke were all myths at the start

daily reminder that holdo was right

>believing the Force and Luke were all myths at the start
Yup. And then she found out what she wanted to believe - they were true.

(And even before Han told her, I think she believed. She might not have known, but she had faith.)

Is it more powerful than this?

Also, what do the Umbaran Mobile Cannons count as anyway?

Tanks or Artillery?

I would have said the latter of the two, but they fight back at closer ranges and have a very strong defense.

>Star Wars / Pacific Rim crossover with Kaiju-sized Vong

Reminder that we could've gotten this as our spin-offs rather than nostalgia bait R1/Solo

I am trying to see if I can get a friend of mine to work on a soul calibur clone featuring starwars duelist characters, including both canon and legends the title card/hypothetical box art would be Jacen solo clashing with Kylo Ren

But that would require faith in the flexibility of the brand rather then slavishe attempts to appease the fans with more of the same

Kel'eth Ur, because he made edgy seventeen year old me realize that the Light Side really is that much better than the Dark Side. And he pulled that off while wearing a stupid fucking hat and appearing in one tiny side quest.

What bothers me about the new movies is the bit characters that get some hamfisted, high-speed character development just so we'll care when they die in the final act.

I didn't care when Mary Sue died. I was relieved. She was painfully expendable, as a character.

>Deploying AT-ATs on the hull for extra fire power.
>Leaking false info about a weak spot on your big-fucking-ship.
>Starting a fight in low orbit where burning up in the atmosphere is a distinct possibility.
Stealing these.

I finally figured out the main reason i disliked TLJ (and by extension TFA). It's not the convoluted plotline with enough holes to be used as a sieve or the bad "instant characterization just add action". No, it was reading up on Chaos Space Marines for a maybe-comeback to 40K that made it click.

It's the same "You wouldn't have whined if you didn't have the awesome stuff before this" mentality that Gav Thrope used to justify the 4th ed CSM codex where he ripped out all the cool fluffcorrect units and replaced it with generic bullshit.

A 40k codex replaces the previous codex, it's no longer legal to use. It's lost in time, like tears in rain.

The OT still exists and you can watch it and enjoy it. It wasn't still running in theaters until TLJ pushed it out.

that's an interesting interpretation, but it's also worth noting that Snoke seemed to believe that the Force was balancing itself with Rey; that as Kylo grew stronger, so would his equal in the light (which he assumed to be Luke, but wasn't.)

Huh, I never noticed but the fighter looks a little bit like a Scyk with bigass engine pods.

Yeah, I took that to mean the wholesale slaughter of nearly every trained force sensitive in the galaxy created a Jet Li effect, making the next generation stronger. Which is an interesting/weird idea.

But they probably just meant "Kylo stronk, balance equal Rey stronk, now balanced", which is dumb/pointless.

...

Does this mean that if we kill both Kylo and Rey while they’re at equal power, the galaxy is saved?

Broom Kid and Phasma will merely become even strongerer.

Armada regionals so far.

Sample size is way, way too small to care about relative performance, even though it's there. Ignore it.

>Ackbar flopping whatever sort of genetalia crabs have on the table
>otherwise, rebels taking a little bit of everyone

>Imperials bringing Sloane, Motti, and Jerjerrod
>a couple people took Vader, one person Ozzel
>nothing else even showed up once

What have you to say for yourselves, Imperials?

Rebels are trying to win with cruddy commanders like Sato or Leia, and you can't even be bothered to try making Tarkin or Screed or Konstantine work? There is no shame in not playing Tagge.

But “light speed” is extradimensional FTL. Your mass located in hyperspace wouldn’t actually be colliding with the other ship’s mass in realspace, just its projected influence on the local conditions of hyperspace (which at certain levels of mass shadow cause real matter intersecting in hyperspace to self-annihilate, I’d like to think).

A ship has to jump to lightspeed to get into hyperspace, but there's still a brief moment where they're travelling at light speed. That's why we see ships stretch and jump, and why from the cockpit we see the starfield blur before the swirl of hyperspace takes over.

They can arc shots in space so who gives a fuck

As someone who has been GM for a VTM group for over a year but found the combat systems too barebones and clunky, which of the SW RPG systems is the best to introduce to a group who has never played any other system but UESRPG and need the biggest fucking kid gloves with actual systems even if they are idiot savants about lore?

R1 was far more than just "Nostalgia bait", if anything TFA deserves that criticism more.

It would be stupid to not have ISD's and TIE fighters in a Death Star plan story.

(Oh and it's unanimously agreed that new wars sucks ass, EU for life)

I actually liked TLJ, and I know this sounds stupid either way, but -

TLJ makes a lot more sense if you rewatch the trailer for TFA, and then assume Rian wrote the script having only ever seen that trailer and never the actual movie.

Here's how the Sequels can be fixed.

First we start with retconning the deaths of Luke and Snoke. Snoke intentionally wanted to die, as part of a ritual to transfer his essence to a more able body, he reappears looking more like regular Andy Serkis in 9. The whole thing was a ploy in which Snoke would transfer to his new body, while Kylo Ren would use this in an attempt to turn Rey over to them. At the same time, Kylo and Hux would carry out this act for the entirety of the last half of TLJ in order to seem weakened to the Resistance, never breaking character in fear of Resistance spies within the First Order.

Secondly the Luke in Episodes 7 and 8 was actually either Luuke or Bigger Luke. Snoke cloned Luke in order to find more about his power and then implanted this clone in the Jedi Temple at an opportune moment to turn Ben Solo into Kylo Ren. Bigger Luke/Luuke would have had no idea he's a clone, and the truth is he didn't cut himself off from the Force. Rather his body was deteriorating, so when he decided to use Doppelganger on Kylo, it was really his final move before disintegrating. Real Luke will show up in Episode 9, revealed to have been building a new Academy in secret on Yavin 4, it'll still be Hamill but shaved to resemble a more youthful Luke. You don't even need CGI memes for this, just the shaved Hamill you see in interviews with some makeup works perfectly.
