What do Dinosaurs need from Rivals to make Gishath (or another Dino lord) to be viable outside of the most casual metagames?

What are some commanders that cheese like affinity and dredge do in modern?

Pls no big cheese

Kaalia and Alesha for Master of Cruelties shenanigans.

C17 commanders with Eminence. Edgar and Inalla as far as I remember.

>Never have to leave the command zone

What are some cards to make the c17 cats better?

None, it's a trash deck

Anyone have any tips and suggestions for this guy? I feel as though im too heavy on dorks and mana rocks and not running enough dragons...

I know the deck is fairly straightforward but I feel as though im missing a lot from it, such as early game card draw and some answers to control and combo

Gishath is bad and you should feel bad

Jund dino is much superior when he gets spoiled

>dredge
Gitrog.

Also, is there something as too much cheese? Because Sneak Attack, Show and Tell, and Natural Order are all legal in commander.

That 2/1 infect cat if Eminence cat is the commander.

Blade of Selves if Stoneforge cat is the commander.

I think that user is more referring to decks that can cheese wins in just a couple turns. Edgar and Inalla are very good, but I think that guy is looking for truly OP shit more like Food Chain, Hermit Druid, and Doomsday.

>release meme commander
>0 support
>errata a bunch of stuff into dinos
>all of them suck ass except for 1

how does wizards manage to fuck up every goddamn time?

It needs to not rely on other creatures with types that will barely be printed anymore.

>What do Dinosaurs need from Rivals to make Gishath (or another Dino lord) to be viable outside of the most casual metagames?
just needs more dinosaurs. gishath is going to suck no matter what cause its tribal that isnt elves, zambies, or goblins

gishath is basically just a shitty ur dragon

more dinos with 5+ power to justify Mayael as commander.

A few threads ago someone brought up pic and I think it looks really fun. Is it worth running things like Arcane Adaption so any non-moon creatures you got can count towards his tribute moonfolk? Anyone got some lists?

>tfw now have another deck to start building
At least most of his shit's cheap except for things like training ground.

So I've been brewing up a Zada list and it's surprisingly hard to find the right ratio of cantrips and token generators, while also leaving room for interaction and ramp. Help me plz.

Here's my list
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/target-4/

No Sol Ring though, because it's banned in my playgroup, which might inform you about my play environment a bit.

My advice - play Scion instead

Exactly. He might be a piece of shit and I hate his guts, but he's just straight up better.

How many times have you gone all the way with Fiery Gambit?

Dinosaur tribal is made for standard and 60 card casual.
Gishath was made exclusively to make retards shut up about a tribal commander. It doesn't matter how shitty it is.
Just look at the following card-shaped abortions:
>Gishath, Sun's Avatar
>Admiral Beckett Brass
>Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign
>Neheb, the Worthy
>Depala, Pilot Exemplar
>Ulrich of the Krallenhorde
>Ishkanah, Grafwidow
>Sigarda, Heron's Grace

>Fiery Gambit

Several times. It's one of the better win conditions. You have a roughly 1/8 chance of getting a triple, so if you 8 or more targets you're statistically likely to get at least one. Sometimes you just need to stop at 2 a couple times though, because that 6 damage adds up.

Arcane Adaptation isn't really worth it to make Moonfolk offering worthwile. You may play a few moonfolk but the ones that are good enough to play are similarly mana-expensive and you'll want to keep them around.

I'd focus on the high tide aspect of the deck more to get patron out faster rather than the offering.

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/patron-of-the-moon-high-tide/ is a decent starting list that splits the difference with some of the lesser moonfolk included. How much you play to the tribal theme is a up to you, just realize that it's probably not the most efficient or powerful route to take.

elder dino highlander

four player casual format, 99 singleton + 1 elder dino

mostly tribal-themed decks with cards matching your elder dino’s color identity

>buddy built a Oona infinite combo deck
>i've always been the guy known for infinite combos
>spent all day getting my shit countered until he could just exile everyone's libraries with infinite mana
>Oh so this is why everyone hates me

So I tore apart my Derevi stax and my infinite combo Breya deck and built Daretti. What should I do for a wincon? Beating people to death with Wurmcoil is fun, but sometimes you need something concrete.

>playing 4 player edh
>cast enchantment and creatures
>dumb beaner playing izzet always says “actually I was gonna counterspell but you didn’t give me time” every time he sees the combo is about to kill him
Blue players am I right

>Derevi stax
>infinite combo Breya
get out

Unesh is actually pretty good.

I will apologize for Derevi because it was built out of spite, but not Breya. I never understood what a toolbox deck was until I built that thing.

God I loved that deck.

This is why you just ask if it resolves every spell like an autist. Some people get annoyed by it but if they won't play right willingly I'll force them to. Every spell gets verbal confirmation that it resolves and every trigger goes off perfectly so nobody can complain. Take backs and the like are honestly cheating to me unless its from a genuine lack of knowledge of the rules when you cast something

>Neheb, the Worthy

if only he had white

Boros got the fun Minotaurs

Too bad the black one is beyond shit as a commander.

yeah, damn shame neheb isn't white
what were they thinking

>Neheb the Eternal is one of the coolest designs in recent magic, both cardwise and aesthetically
>they kill him off
It's no fair.

Chandra's ignition is a viable non-combat oriented win condition right? Just pump your dudes a bit and then ignition on everyone's faces?

Unless your dudes are indestructible, no. The first ignition resolves, killing the rest of your board and subsequently fizzling the rest.

Or ProRed a la Akroma's Memorial

Deep nvm Prided would make targeting impossible.

The creature deals damage, so you need to ignite a black/red creature for that to work.

Yea but Ignition Targets and is Red itself
I played myself with that post but I don't know how to delete on mobile ap

I'm planning on maining Eldrazi Monument so no worries there.

>Thread question
A commander that doesn't cost 8 fucking mana.

back to /pol/

really though, you could make a special case to include the command zone

Ramp and fixing is extremely important. Be sure to balance between rocks, dorks, and spells, two of each basic, the tri-lands, some green/red duals, and a few untap target land druids. Run arcane adaptation to make everything a dragon, sunbird's invocation for some cascading dragons, and never underestimate how much that -1 to costs adds up over a game. Get yourself a reanimation suite and get dragons into play. Give them haste with ogre battledriver, samut, etc. Add in a panharmonicon and reanimate multiple dragons with ever after to chain etb effects and create more dragons.

Don't play Scion as your Commander, it gets boring. Maybe in a competitive pod, and it would be built differently... But Ur-Dragon is miles away tons more fun to play long term at 75% competitive.

Oh yes. Please tell me more.

>LabMan, Food Chain, Hermit Druid, and Ad Naus are banned
How does your meta change?

If someone in our group plays animar, do i basically need to disassemble my mono black deck?

None.

Only giving first strike unless you're heckbent is beyond awful though, even if he were Mardu colors.

Just play actual dredge with either Sidisi or Jarad

Banning the most common combo pieces doesn’t actually change anything - people will just switch to the next best combos. The real problem is that aggro and normal control are hampered so much by having 3x opponents and 40 starting life.

just use some colorless and sac spells ya ding dong

wraths of different flavors are pretty sweet, especially combined with tutors.

Ulrich isn’t even a decent card to begin with.

Playgroup just became "Tier 1 netdeck or you lose" central. Mfw.

>Black having trouble dealing with creatures
>EVER
To this date, Sigarda 1.0 has been its toughest nut to crack but even she can be brought down if you plan for it. Take some Animar hate:
Tainted aether
Spreading plague
Night of souls betrayal
Toxic deluge
Damnation
Sudden spoiling
Sheoldred
Grave Pact
Dictate of Erebos
Grip of Desolation
Oblivion Strike
Complete Disregard

Depala is decent for vehicles at least.

muh spicy Original(TM) homebrew

>doesn't actually change anything
Nonsense
If "the next best combos" available are all shit then it lends more power to the weaker archetypes

Deck Idea:
Milky Mommies - or - Titty Tribal

I'm thinking Saskia as the commander. Not the biggest rack, but 4 colors is pretty hard to pass up.

What's the most politically nuanced deck someone can build? Something that really flys under the radar and builds advantage while getting players to murder each other.

WBR facesit tribal w/ Mommy Marchesa

I pulled three of that shitter from separate packs

Vehicle tribal almost manages to be worse than Dinosaur tribal in how much support there is. Enjoy one standard rotation of new cards before the mechanic is thrown away and forgotten forever.

Gahiji
Keep it simple, Stupid

Fuck you, Sigarda is a great tribal commander and anyone who says otherwise is shit. SHIT. SSHHHEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIITTTTT!!!!

>Beckett Brass
Well to be fair, pirate tribal as a whole is fucking shite.

becky has all the colors needed for steal shit tribal

>decide to branch out and finally play at my LGS for the first time
>middle of first game
>guy yawns loudly and goes "me sweeepy" and abruptly leaves with no further explanation

fuck this
never again

>Have the deckbuilding bug
>Literally no idea what I want to build
FUCK

GW slivers/changlings/tribal goodstuffs

>wrath of god exists
Why do people play this shit card?

I want to build Grusilda, but having to ask everyone "hey are you guys okay with me using my illegal deck xD" before every fucking game seems miserable.

This. Queen Facesit is the most lewd. Just look into her eyes and imagine her talking down to you for your misplays and try not to get hard.

because the odds of you having wraths of god in hand on curve are very low in a singleton 100 card format

next stupid question

> be me
> khanafenza player
> +1/+1 counter barfing with a side of hatebears
> play heliod because army in a can
> groan as eveyone ridicules me for turning off my own commander's ability

Nah, you posted this threads ago. Fuck off, queermo, nobody likes your pathetic attempts at erotic imagery.

What commander should I play if I want to assemble different rube goldberg machines every game and have multiple lines of play? Thinking one of these guys

...

I for one wish there was more Magic lewds and porn
I'll probably draw some myself when I git gud enough

Hellkite Tyrant and mirror works

Sharuum is the only good answer to "what if I like artifacts?".

When someone breaks your toy, she'll fetch it and put it back together for you.

So do I, but some neckbeard talking about how he wants Marchessa to berate him does not make for smut.

What are some fun combos with happy hippo that aren't group hug focused? I want the deck to use his abilities to punish my opponents as much as possible. I thought about just going super pillow fort and watching opponents kill each other with hippos and such but I'd like a bit more if its out there

I plan to do the same user, its something to be proud of. We can both make it!

I should probably make sure to mention happy hippo is phelddagrif

>we can both make it.
I believe in us bro. So long as wizards doesn't shut it down.
Yeah fair

Daretti is probably better overall, but Slobad protects your machine pieces and gives you an on demand sac outlet for stuff like Myr Retriever/Junk Diver/Workshop Assistant/Scrap Trawler/etc. so I usually prefer him for just dicking around with combos.

With Slobad, they won't break your toys in the first place.

Good news! It's legal (for now).

>be dinofag
>wizards prints dinos finally
>build gishath
>its ok. Needs more support
>load it with tons of ramp and Naya foodstuff for now
>never be so excites for next set

Honestly all we need are 5-10 solid dinos.
The elder dinos will be guaranteed playable. So we need like 6 or 7 bomby dudes.

Also more errata are coming (hello Regal Behemoth)

I'd ridicule you for playing such a brainlet archetype first. I bet your meta has an average of one board wipe per deck.

>get dub trips
>misspell that many words

Fuck me

I like Naya foodstuff

good question, user.
hey why play creatures at all? they just get wrath of god'd every time in this singleton form-wait a second...

Any brewers got input on these bad girls? I'm relatively new to deck brewing and would like to pull of something creative with her.

its bad because if she dies or is bounced or whatever you cant bring back cards removed prior
Just run as much voltron-esque protection and ramp as you can, I suppose. You'll need a preetty casual meta for it to go off.

Is it possible for me to enjoy any RG or RGx commander if I hate creatures and pic related?

>14 mana and an uninterrupted combat step to get to do the thing the card was made to do
Fuck, it hurts how bad this is.

Wort.
Pissed Omnath.
