The rules make clerics pray and wizards study spellbooks, but what bonuses do you give martials for working out and exercising?

Sweet gains are their own reward, brah.

>giving martials arbitrary bonuses
Why are martial players such entitled children?

My wizard was swole as fuck.

I think they want to level the playing field. Under what circumstance is the power to literally warp reality around you /not/ superior to the ability to wield a sword and board?

This however is a legitimate answer

This.
DnD and similar are not built to be fair. The wizzard was made to be broken past lvl 10 and made to suddenly start escalating at level 5ish, while the martial classes are stuck to only gradually improve.

It just makes since that the guy with magic is better.

If Paradox desgined D&D, martials would get bonuses for doing push-ups.

because magic is bullshit

They don't need them. They can go all day and all night until they start eating penalties from fatigue. The martials hold the fort while the casters rest up to regain spell slots.

Not needing to constantly work out while maintaining their outstanding physique is a boon on itself

If Paradox designed DnD the player's handbook would consist of Character Creation, Rules, Combat, Magic Compendium, and Equipment, and each would be a different book purchased separately at near full price.

Being a dungeon diving explorer should demand a certain amount of fitness

With enough time invested, a free increase in the Strength attribute (in GUPRS). Better training methods could mean faster gains.

They can still fit into their armour; getting that stuff adjusted when you've put on weight is expensive and time-consuming, especially if it's enchanted!

They'd have seasonal sales though, slashing the prices by 60%, but not before raising the MSRP of each book by 60% just before the sale.

Opposite!

Enchanted armor and items automatically resize to fit their wearer.

Being able to fuck like proper men instead of being quickshot mages?

fpbp

morale boost

> depends on the system...

5e would base all its mechanics around martial mana, arcane mana and diplo mana. Everything else would be just weirdly tacked on and basically pointless.

>Under what circumstance is the power to literally warp reality around you /not/ superior to the ability to wield a sword and board?

The vast majority of real world mythologies.

I think there was either a 3rd party option or magic item that let martials do 1 hour of exercise a day for prep like wizards to gain a +1 or +2 to a single physical stat, and there was a samey rule for mental stats

Maritals are getting different bonuses based on what exercise they did outside of combat that day.
>Squats - Small Dex bonus, Medium End Bonus, Medium Str bonus
>Deadlift - Medium End bonus, High Str bonus
>Overhead press - Medium Str bonus, High Dex bonus
>Curls- Small Str bonus, High Charisma bonus (bitches love arms)
>Barbell Flies - Medim Str bonus, High Char bonus (Bitches love pecs), Small Dex penalty (damn doms in peck are a killer to arm movement)

The bonus expires in 24 hours, and does not stack. You cannot have the same buff two times in a row.

In Norse Mythology, Skuld once took over Sweden.
She raised an army of Draugr, Elves, Valkyries and pretty much any otherworldly entity that would fight for her.
Three Vikings made their way to her and bound her arms, rending her magic useless and her army left her.

To reiterate, Goddess of the Future raised and undead army and got bested by three sword and board Vikings.

A high level wizard in D&D could be bound and gagged and that would generally render them unable to cast spells. They could have a contingency spell set up in case that happens but I doubt many would choose their contingency spell for that particular situation over everything else they could prepare for.

...

Because they want to be the underdog without actually being at a disadvantage, similarly to the people who play races that are hated by general society and yet wants to also be loved and adored by that same population.

that's still a 36% save on the original price, you know?

>A high level wizard in D&D could be bound and gagged and that would generally render them unable to cast spells
And said high level wizard player would throw a fit and start kicking and screaming about railroading.

>The rules make clerics pray and wizards study spellbooks, but what bonuses do you give martials for working out and exercising?

Because being an adventurer IS the exercise.
I dare you carry around a tower shield and armour into battle all day and not get stronger.

Also because Dee and Dee makes no sense.

That already exists. Martials worth a Damn(i.e ones that use the Tome of Battle) need to exercise/do drills to prep their maneuvers.

A High level Wizard has Silent Spell, Still Spell, Emergency Force Sphere, Flight, Freedom of Movement, several rings of Freedom of Movement, Alarm, Summons, etc. The whole "You must waggle and speak thing" isn't a real disadvantage in D&D if your players have a modicum of intelligence.
>And said high level wizard player would throw a fit and start kicking and screaming about railroading.
Because it kind of is. Same for yanking away a fighters weapons or having them turned to ash.

>The vast majority of real world mythologies
those usually make the protagonists win with Deus Ex Machinas though

Y'mean the same mythologies where the protagonist has divine help and/or the blood of a deity running through their veins? Because there aren't many mythologies where the protagonist is 100% human and succeeds without the aid of supernatural or divine favor.

>Emergency Force Sphere, Flight, Freedom of Movement
but don't all of those require you to be able to speak? Doesn't really help after the fact.

Change your feats, so you aren't stuck using one weapon all the time

Sauce?

Rune Soldier

Rune Soldier. Worth noting that the image is not indicative of anything the show involves. All those girls hate him(to start, at least).

Still, it's basically about a born Barbarian who ended up as a Wizard instead.
