If I buy a stock I have partial ownership of the company and claims on a pro rata share of future profits and dividends. If I buy property I have claims on ownership and future rents. What is it that I actually get when I buy crypto?

You get a piece of the future my friend.

Muh Sats

You get an electronic statement that the address you hold the password to is alotted a certain number of a larger number which is all named something

Some may trade you for that number to be transferred tk their address for an amount of fiat, which may be more or less than you have

>What is it that I actually get when I buy crypto?
Money.

>What is it that I actually get when I buy crypto?
you get rich, duh.

Can you use stocks to make purchases?
Can you transfer them?
Can you divide them?
Oh, I see. Stocks are only valuable when you sell them.

>>Oh, I see. Stocks are only valuable when you sell them.

>what is dividends
I'm not a stocks guy, but you're retarded

>Dividends
Receiving $2 per share a year. Top kek.

>complaining about free money

>Receiving $2 per share a year.
When you have 100,000 shares this is nice. Of course, any stock paying $2 dividends isn't going to be cheap though.

>What is it that I actually get when I buy crypto?
NOTHING
YOU DON'T EVEN GET A TULIP

This is why this is the perfect bubble that can go on forever. Because THERE LITERALLY IS NO UNDERLYING ASSET
It's a pure ponzi pyramid and everyone knows it. And no one can cash out.

>This is why this is the perfect bubble that can go on forever. Because THERE LITERALLY IS NO UNDERLYING ASSET

Actually that is why this bubble will not last as long as the Dotcom bubble. Without any underlying asset, institutional investors will not enter the market, which means there isn't enough fuel too keep mooning. We're near the end mate.

Yeah. Let's say you buy 100k shares of Microsoft (MSFT), 85.54.
That's an investment of roughly 8.5 million. How many years does it take for you to recover your investment with dividends?

>That's an investment of roughly 8.5 million. How many years does it take for you to recover your investment with dividends?

You buy 100k shares of shitcoin. It moons 4x-8x. If you cash out before the market collapse, you make 2-8x your investment. If the market collapses, you lose everything.

There is a reason you are getting such high return nigger and it's because you are taking insane risk. This shitcoin market isn't long-term viable while MS will be able to keep paying dividends indefinitely.

Let me answer my own question for you. MSFT pays 1.59/year in dividends right now.
That's 159k/year, assuming dividends won't increase. It would take about 53 years to recover your investment, assuming that MSFT will still exist in 53 years.

You get a crypto waifu :3

We speculatin bitch. Odds of lowcap shitcoins hitting at least a 3x are actually decent and way better odds than any sports book. I’m just tryna get rich as fuck before this crashes down. There will be some blue chip cryptos left but 90% of these are going to zero

>If the market collapses, you lose everything.
There's a long line of people wanting to get in. And the line only increases. The only thing that could make the market crash would be the US banning cryptocurrency trading, which won't happen. Increasing regulation may cause temporary price drops, but recovery tends to be quick.

>That's 159k/year, assuming dividends won't increase. It would take about 53 years to recover your investment, assuming that MSFT will still exist in 53 years.

>Not understanding time value of money.
>Not factoring in growth of the stock

The PV of the 1.59/year dividend is $47.

MS stock is average 45% a year stock price increase since the Great Recession.

>There's a long line of people wanting to get in.

Not once the money chinks stop entering the market will collapse. Look at the market cap compared to the BTC ATH. We still haven't recovered. New money isn't entering the market, or at least not at the rate higher than old money leaving.

>MS stock is average 45% a year stock price increase since the Great Recession.
Top kek. You mean the 2009 recession?

You can't factor in the growth of the stock. You can't assume it will keep going up. Stocks can also crash, there might be a new recession coming and you'll lose half of your investment. You have no idea of what could happen in 50 years. Microsoft could disappear in 20 years, or it could lose market share to some startup. So I say it's extremely risky to invest in stocks for dividends.
