Anybody have any good pics of Mon Calamari-styled starship interiors? My AoR group is going aboard an MC80 next session, and I need some visuals.
Ryder Reed
The EU still exists in Legends, stupid. It just has the benefit of not being fucked with anymore.
Just because something isn't part of the core canon doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Gavin Sanchez
There are jump packs and jet packs right, Mandalorians obviously use jets so who uses jump packs?
Blake Perez
Clone Troopers, droid commandos, old republic troopers.
There's some imperial jump pack users in the old Battlefront games too.
Justin Allen
but none of that is canon, not that canon matters anymore.
Is there a weight limit to either, never seen anyone using a repeating blaster rifle with a jet or jump pack.
Justin Allen
Is it me or is the Republic's army (and the Imperial army that would follow) largely inferior to it's Separtist counterpart in Canon now?
Luke Collins
>>Canon the only media that matters
Well you could go write some then pal.
Carson Butler
Can we post more of them sith women in this thread?
Matthew Wilson
Where in Legends would naval commandos station? Would Star Destroyers always have a contingent housed or are they specialty formations with their own vessels?
Dylan Bailey
ISD's were supposed to hold a whole regiment pretty much.
Logan Campbell
>but none of that is canon, not that canon matters anymore.
Why make a statement if you're just going to contradict yourself in the same sentence?
Cameron Butler
Does anyone know if there's any book with stats for more prominent cannon characters like Darth Vader or Cad Bane?
Gabriel Anderson
The separatist military is awesome! The variety they present in both their army and navy is very impressive compared to Star Wars other forces. I wish they would get more recognition and representation in various star wars games. Especially Legion and Armada. Oh well...
Hudson Jones
See I like that part of this situation: everyone understands when I go "fuck the shit I don't like, I'll throw it out" be it from old or new.
The only problem is the continual arguments about whatever the problems with the newest movie are. Oh and the continual releases of new star wars movies in general: cheapens the whole damn thing.
Aiden Parker
Has there been anything done with the separatists in the new canon besides the new Battlefront 2? It seems like they're actively trying to avoid the clone wars as much as possible
Hunter Bell
You could try find a vid walkthrough of BF2's campaign in hd. First mission is breaking out of a cell on a mon cal ship, just a bit of sneaky cropping needed.
Samuel Rodriguez
I'd love me some Seppie ships for Armada, but short of doing a CW expansion they'll probably only show up as salvaged/refitted Rebel ships.
Angel Morris
>It seems like they're actively trying to avoid the clone wars as much as possible
Why?
Are they afraid people will like it better than the new stuff or something?
Ryder Thomas
D6 and D20 have full stats for most of the major characters, from the films and elsewhere. FFG, meanwhile, seems to have taken the "if you stat it, they'll find a way to kill it" approach.
David Gomez
In FFG? I think Vader shows up in one and it's literally just "Vader is plot, if he gets close to your characters they die." Generally speaking unless your players are ridiculously strong, I think the general line of thinking from the books is "They are as powerful as the plot needs them to be."
I had Luke show up in one of my games, he literally didn't have stats, he could do whatever the plot needed him to. Battalion of stormtroopers? Luke's gonna go deal with that off-screen, why don't you handle that squad over there? Luke needs to lift debris? He just does, no rolls required.
If they're coming up against them as a foe, maybe make them a puzzle boss, where actually fighting them directly isn't the solution? Homebrew is probably your best bet, just give them whatever stats and talents accurately reflect them, come up with talents if you'd like.
D6 actually does have a lot of fan made stats for people, there's an archive out there somewhere, google is your friend.
Kevin Edwards
Thanks, just trying to gather the differences from other commando units, like the Storm Commandos in RSIII which seem to be their own autonomous department.
Mason Cruz
Era fatigue. We already had years of Clone focus during the waning days of Legends—two TV shows with their own different continuities, multiple different comic series, and lots of novels and games. The Clone Wars had their years-long marketing push already.
Hunter Morgan
Yes, but much of what was in the Clone Wars is no longer Canon.
So now they have to retell a lot of that.
Daniel Bailey
Even without getting any attention in the new canon their army and fleet variety is leagues ahead of anyone else in canon! There's so much stuff to work with just whats in ep1-3 and the clone wars. They didn't lose very much in the canon purge, in fact they probably lost the least compared to everyone else.
Samuel Parker
Right now I'm running an arc involving the group working with and eventually getting betrayed by an Old Cad Bane. Think Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven more or less.
I kind of want to have him serve as a boss fight, which I think would be more reasonable mostly because he's no longer in his prime
Jack Myers
Tell me what you love and hate most about the ST.
Tyler Perez
I really enjoyed the background characters and setting design.
I did not like how little there development or change there was when it came to new ship designs
Anthony Ross
I agree with you on all points. Legends no longer being touched is a GOOD thing, especially with the issues Disney is putting into its new canon. The bitching would be even worse if they were inserting all of this stuff in the old canon. Sure, the fact that Legends is no longer getting content means no new stories, but it also has the benefit of it being made even more inconsistent. All of our favorite parts of the old EU are safe, and free for use in RPG campaigns.
The anger circlejerks about the newest movies are extremely irritating. Fuck, some anons having been arguing about the hyperdrive ram thing since TLJ came out in every thread, I swear. TLJ had dumb things, yes, but let's focus on fun talk.
And lastly yeah, one movie a year is just uninteresting, and I think that's part of the reason why TLJ's underperforming in the box office. Star Wars movies used to be an event, but now that there's a movie a year, I feel like most people aren't all that interested in seeing them that frequently. I couldn't care less about any of the upcoming spin-off movies aside from MAYBE the speculated Obi-Wan movie, but ONLY if they get Ewan McGregor. That, and I've just not been too crazy over the Disney movies so far. TFA was fine, but unoriginal. Rogue One was dull. TLJ had some dumb moments, some pretty good moments, and evened out to be a 7.5/10 for me.
Leo Lopez

gunboat guy here, looking for input on these gunboat lists.
This section describes restrictions and changes to card text in Epic X-Wing Games:
- Navigator can not be equipped to huge ships - Zuckuss can not be equipped to huge ships - Maul can not be equipped to huge ships - Biggs Darklighter’s pilot ability does not affect huge ships. Small and medium ships may attack huge ships that are at Range 1 of Biggs Darklighter, and huge ships treat Biggs Darklighter’s card text as blank when attacking - In Epic play, Lieutenant Dormitz's ability reads "During Setup, other friendly ships may be placed anywhere in the play area at range 1 of you."
Did I miss any cards or Pilots? did I go too far on something? Not far enough?
Benjamin Allen
I love the costume designs. Genuinely, I think they're gorgeous for most main characters. Rey is one of my favourite looking characters in all the movies.
I hate the reset to "Empire v Rebs" and the general "soft-reboot" I feel they're aiming for. Also just a personal pet peeve but I absolutely loathe that we haven't seen any familiar aliens except Chewie. Star Wars has a massively diverse range of aliens with some absolutely steller designs and you don't use them, c'mon!
Julian Myers
I think era fatigue could be averted to a degree by focusing on a holdout faction that manages to last into the GCW To a degree of relevance.
Noah Rodriguez
I would prefer less frequent movies and more frequent side content like comics, books, videogames, etc. So far the amount of content being released alongside the movies has felt very anemic to me. I could be crazy though.

The Nucanon has no right to exist imo. Anything tolerable is just a rehash of something the OT/PT/EU did better, and anything new is terrible.
The SCAR comic is the only good thing Nucanon's given us. And porgs.
Dylan Ortiz
That's why Kylo is the main character. He's the one that gets the story, he's the one with a character arc, he's the Skywalker, he's the one with an interesting backstory. Rey is more of a plot device than a character, we just so happen to be seeing the story mostly from her perspective - not saying that's a good or bad thing, just how I see it.
Lucas Collins
>Rey's parents being nobodies was a good reveal, I think. The idea of her not being connected to anyone else was a good move, >IMHO. It would have been fine if they hadn’t foreshadowed the opposite so heavily in TFA. When you take the foreshadowing into account, the reveal is not a twist, it just retroactively makes a chunk of TFA into a red herring.
Nicholas Thomas
I thought he was a great character played by a cool actor. I walked away hoping he would show up in something else because I wanted to see more of him. That's how I feel about all of the other characters I said I loved.

>mando merc I wouldn't say he'd look suspicious if it's obvious he's a mercenary, but he certainly wouldn't be inconspicuous in the slightest, which shouldn't be a problem if he's just a mercenary and not a bounty hunter actively on the hunt.
Leo Perez
What foreshadowing? The only person that gave a damn about Rey's parents was Rey herself, and the only memory she seemed to have of them was flying away in some ambiguous starship.
It was a key part of Rey's growth to realize and acknowledge that her parents were nobodies that didn't even want her. They're not part of her story.
Accuracy Corrector prevents Backdraft from adding the Crit. Swapped to FCS as it is the gold standard, and Backdraft shoots out the front pretty often. Foe EPT, VI or Crack Shot are the way to go.
You could also try a VI Quickdraw with no tech- That and 3 LRS Harpoon Nu's has been doing work recently this season.
Cruise Missiles are for Darth Vader, A-wings, TAPs, or TIE/SF. The Gunboat has 1 4-speed move, and it's red. Harpoon or bust.
For Maarek, if you really want the Crits, run Juke and take Palp. Marksmanship eats an action, 3 points, and an EPT, making it a bit excessive unless you can attack multiple times per round. Even then, Expertise exists. Remember, Maarek doesn't always hit, and some stuff has shields.
Bentley Phillips
>You will never commission as an officer into the First Order Navy in order to help control rampant piracy in the Outer Rim >You will never graduate at the top of your class and be given command of a venerable old ISD II >You will never capture the pirate captain who has been plaguing shipping lanes since the collapse of the Empire >You will never receive the thanks and adulation of an entire sector for removing the boot of a warlord off their necks and opening up shipping lanes for relief supplies to flood in >You will never see the rise of terrorists once again, this time in opposition to two governments, purely to oppose you because of your male human-led coalition
Joseph Nelson
>It would have been fine if they hadn’t foreshadowed the opposite so heavily in TFA. When you take the foreshadowing into account, the reveal is not a twist, it just retroactively makes a chunk of TFA into a red herring. Yeah, almost as if a brother and sister shared a highly romantic kiss in a previous film, right? That would be a totally annoying red herring. Nobody would do that.
Justin Long
They've always been better equipped and trained, just heavily outnumbered. One of the first season episodes of TCW - I think it might have been "Ambush" - even said that the droids outnumber the clones 100 to 1. Some Legends sources even before that said that there were quadrillions of droids.
The Separatists were never meant to win, they just had to appear to be enough of a threat to justify all of Palpatine's power grabs.
Julian Campbell
This is pretty much on point all the need for secrecy around the main films is really stifling the EU side. Say what you want about the prequels but they brought with them a generation of cool EU things and we haven't seen a fraction of that yet for the sequels despite being helmed by the largest entertainment business on the planet
Luke Wright

Training, yes I agree.
But armament I do not.
I see the Separatists weapons are a lot more effective and or powerful than their Republic counterparts.
Camden Sanchez
Basically, you have 34 points for an ace. This can be-
- VI Maarek - 1-point-ept Vessery - Juke Ryad - PTL/Auto/Title/Proton Rocket Inquisitor - PTL/Auto/Targeting Comp Soontir Fel - carnor Jax with PTL/Auto/Hull - Adaptability or Trick Shot Vader with ATC and EU Expertise/LWF/TLT Kestal - an Omicron Group Pilot with Sensor Jammer and Palp.
Brandon Long
the stupid outweighed the good in TLJ for me
Justin Roberts
Clone blasters are canonically ionized to better fight against droids.
The only significant difference in weaponry besides economy of scale is that more Separatists, by being the Designated Bad Guys, are more willing to use nastier weapons than the Republic are.
The droids are dummies with guns, but they're so numerous that they can afford to lose a battalion for every squad that the Republic loses and still come out on top.
Camden Cooper
>It was a key part of Rey's growth to realize and acknowledge that her parents were nobodies that didn't even want her. They're not part of her story. And it's got very interesting parallels to Luke and Vader (Vader, who wanted his son in a corrupt version of love) and Han and Ben (Han, who wanted to love his son, but couldn't manage to do it properly somehow).
Star Wars is all about families; absent, present, dead, living, burned, adopted, forgotten, etc.
Gavin Morris
Seeing all these just makes me want a novel where two old Veterans who live on Coruscant together and drink regularly but are really vague about who they fought for in the war agree that the rising First Order has to be stopped, only to turn up in their respective colours and go off to wreck some stuff, their morals and ideologies clashing but agreeing to work together to fight the common enemy, before eventually realising by the end they have more that unites them in their common humanity than that divides them by their worldviews.
Alexander Moore
I'd read the shit out of that.
Dylan Evans
I have a player who wants to do a jedi padawan in a larger group that'll be using edge of empire rules.
Jedi don't get obligation, so does that mean they avoid adding to the obligation roll?
Charles Harris
I'm also referring to things such as the Super Tanks, the Umbaran warmachines and the Hailfire Droids and Gunships.
I've seen more than one case of the Republic's walkers and heavy machines being one shot by their Separatists counterparts or being taken out with relative ease.
The Malevolence is also a good example.
Grevious himself is an example as I believe in Canon he was rebuilt by the CIS into a cyborg that is skilled enough to overcome Jedi and learn how to duel with lightsabers.
I also believe that things like Droideikas, Magna Guards and Commando Droids are equal to or surpass any Clone Trooper to appear in Canon.
Thomas Long
Figured I was doing things wrong, surprised accuracy corrector prevents the addition of the crit though. Doesn't backdraft's ability not actually modify the dice, but simply add an extra crit? Am I correct in the assessment that maarek has more survivability, but backdraft has more firepower, which could make up for the times when the gunboats are reloading? Which list (after your fixes) do you think is better?
Nicholas Mitchell
People using FaD can get obligation and morality, they can function independently - your Jedi has to watch his thoughts and actions far more than the non-force sensitives, which is thematically appropriate. You can also just ask him to use EotE's force sensitive class if you think it'd be easier.
Hudson Gutierrez
>What foreshadowing? Just because you weren’t paying close enough attention to pick up the musical, visual, and archetypal foreshadowing for Rey’s parentage to matter doesn’t mean said foreshadowing doesn’t exist.
Wrong. I mean, firstly, that kiss is foreshadowing Leia’s later romantic interest in Han rather than any romantic interest in Luke. Secondly, just from a human interaction perspective, it’s dishonest to call that kiss ‘highly romantic.’ But yeah it’s a bit icky, blame it on the seat-of-your-pants development cycle ESB had, where George never expected to get a big budget sequel, and they were still inserting major plot elements near the end of shooting. I think we should hold a modern film from a professional crew backed by a multi-billion dollar company with guaranteed continuation to a slightly higher standard.
Landon Harris
>let's focus on fun talk But user, the hyperspace ramming *is* fun for me. I just need to find a way to keep it from being setting breaking, is all.

>I just need to find a way to keep it from being setting breaking, is all.
Are you going to even be able to convince most people to do that beyond it being a desperation tactic?
Plus that only really works if the enemy places their large and expensive capitol ship (that rivals the productivity of some of the most productive worlds in the First Order) in harms way.
Julian Stewart
>Just because you weren’t paying close enough attention to pick up the musical, visual, and archetypal foreshadowing for Rey’s parentage to matter doesn’t mean said foreshadowing doesn’t exist. That's not evidence, user, that's you projecting.

Have them play an EotE Career but let them buy into this Universal Specialization to represent padawan training
John King
>and I think that's part of the reason why TLJ's underperforming in the box office.
I really like Rey, Kylo, and Luke. In TFA, but especially in TLJ, they're a delight in every scene.
There's a haphazard, unplanned approach to everything in the movies for no artistic reason. Nobody at Disney has a vision for the series, JJ is a hack, and Rian has never made that kind of a film before. It permeates all the way down to background stuff, like vehicle designs and setpieces, and it's grating.
what were the Jedi Crusaders, anons? Were they the army that Revan led to battle the Mandos? It's been a really long ass time since I've played either KOTOR.
James Taylor
I'm going to regionals with this, but HLC Gunboats is something you said you didn't want.
Quickdraw(Veteran Instincts, Lightweight Frame, Fire-Control-System, Advanced Optics)-36 Rho Squadron Veteran(Crack Shot, Heavy Laser Cannon, Linked Batteries, Long Range Scanners, XG-1)-32 Rho Squadron Veteran(Crack Shot, Heavy Laser Cannon, Linked Batteries, Long Range Scanners, XG-1)-32
This is due to me not wanting to have potential options for failure to launch the missiles- with the HLC I can start the engagement with full mods on anyone in my arc, and I can 1-round most stuff.
I know with this I had considered Stele with Juke for better Time on Target and Juke to put action pressure on things trying to chase the Gunboat down, but moved to Quickdraw due to meta concerns about not being able to frontload enough damage against a specific squad.
If you pay the 2 Extra points and want to run the 2 Rhos with Missiles, I'd be torn between these ships-
- Soontir Fel (For PS9 Arc-dodging and bait) - Inquisitor (Fel, but lower PS and better at hunting down people who run) - Backdraft (For great Time-On-Target and consistent Crits -A defender for "Fuck you" levels of durable.
For the Accuracy corrector, it makes it so that you can't modify the entire pool of dice.
As much as I don't want to get involved in another discussion about it >Are you going to even be able to convince most people to do that beyond it being a desperation tactic? droids >Plus that only really works if the enemy places their large and expensive capitol ship (that rivals the productivity of some of the most productive worlds in the First Order) in harms way Very good point.
Connor Wilson
The prequels were so heavily panned that Disney overtly distances their setting from it as much as possible.

I like the characters, the ships and the fight scenes.
I hate the lack of OT and PT aliens besides Chewie, Nunb and Ackbar. It's kind of weird but I mean then again, there were hardly any aliens in ESB besides Chewie, worm, Wampa, Taun Tauns and Yoda. I also kind of hate the lack of explanation the First Order gets. I get it's a religious extremist remnant of the Empire but, yeah. My biggest gripe is Phasma. Why the fuck would you continuously waste a character like that?
Why is it called the First Order?
Angel Lewis
Nevermind apparently the GE was also known as the New Order
Joseph Gray
To build on this- The 2 fully modded Harpoons will likely eliminate anything round 1/2 of engagement if they don't escape the missile. It literally is preference with what you want your Ace to do.
Aaron Watson
>you will never be a CIS survivor telling the rebles you told them so >ywn ditch them when they fail to revive a republic that actually works >ywn find your old droid factory and get pumping when The call is out against the first order, unable to reply just yet.

I am enjoying the hell out of Rey and Kylo as of the new movie. I liked Kylo before and was a bit iffy on Rey but the new movie made me really enjoy both of them by showing that she's really a hothead who doesn't think her stuff through too well.
I also enjoyed the fact that literally every single person with a plan had it run into someone else's plan and fail. It's a fun alternative to 'No, this was all my perfect plan!' that can often happen
I didn't like the new admiral that turned up for the movie. Not because what she did was bad (She was fine imo) but I think she really needed to be established last movie in order to have her have the emotional appeal it needed. Or have it be Akbar in her place.
Zachary Howard
The only reason plans failed were because they were idiotic thanks to bad writing. Fuck Disney.
Parker Ortiz
>>and I think that's part of the reason why TLJ's underperforming in the box office.
I meant that it's not meeting Disney's projected goals. It's smashing the box office.
Jack Martin
oh, so that's what the Brendol Hux pic was traced from.
Julian Hill
Honestly, I'd love to see that be part of the solution to the 'Rebellion is down to so few people'. Not all of it but bringing back some old remnants of the Trade Federation/Their battle droids as one of the various factions they recruit for support in the next movie.
Kayden James
Honestly, I kind of think that "Last Order" would have been a better name, given that the Empire was the New Order.
Daniel Thomas
The premise of the new trilogy is terrible and it ruins the movies for me.
