How the fuck do you play against skaven? more specifically, How the fuck do you play against skyre clan skaven? The amount of fucking mortal wounds they do per turn is just insane I simply can't do shit against them.

First for Nurgle.

I play Nurgle. Can i make a decent cavalry force with such god?

Well, they will wound better, and as I said, if you plant to use them offensively bringing a Lord on mount is a must in either case. I don't know Nurgle's traits so I don't know how are they going to sinergize, in any case, they are hardy and easilly buffed so at the very least you will have something sturdy to grab objectives and hold them until the rest of your force arrives.

So user, how many armies are you collecting at the moment? Which army do you plan on starting in the new Year?

sadly only sigmarines for now, I bought all the stormcast part of the boxes my friend buys because other than him, no one around plays AOS.

If I find more people to play I'll probably start an ogre army.

Try not to let meme'rs get you down, Stormcast are badass!

Which Stormhost are you representing?

Anyone here plays daemon both in AoS and 40k? I want to start a cross-system army but I'm not sure if it is a viable option at all - thinking about nurgle

Wrathmongers vs Skullreapers, which can be more bullshit to go against?

Why would one take arkhan over mannfred or neferata? I know the spell has potential to wipe units but is that really worth more then 2 beat sticks?

Current -- StD and just a little bit of FEC
Planning -- ~1000pts of Rotbringers and 1000 pts of Nurgle.

I made my own. I paint them with leadbelcher and caliban green with some retributor armor for the shoulders.

I think they are a fine army but a bit weak if you don't invest heavily in characters. I love my vanguard raptors with longstrike xbows.

rebooting my stalled nurgle army now that they are getting a codex and have a good looking GUO.

Soon

>thinking about nurgle
based on that .gif i think you should consider slaanesh...

A pure FEC army synergies super well

wait for the codex but from what we have seen so far you will be able to have a pretty decent nurgle army for both games.

Tell me about them. FEC caught my eye some time ago but I had hard times to brew up a 1000pts list for them

Currently collecting - 2k Gitmob (finished except for a few more artillery pieces) 2k Moonclan (finished except for a unit of squig riders, skarsnik, giant cave squig, and whatever/whenever the new fungus shaman champion is) 2k Gutbusters (only need one more butcher w/cauldron), 1k Fimir (need one more noble and for forgeworld to release the fucking balefiend), 2k Blades of Khorne (finished except for a harbingers of ruin box which is enroute), and a planned 2k maggotkin army, for which I only have 3x blight drones atm

Hey /aosg/

I'm a 40k player and recently been interested in AoS, mostly Sylvaneth. A friend is throwing a small tournament in few months, anyone mind making me a quick and dirty casual Sylvaneth list at 1200 points? Bonus points if it's affordable too excluding the woods. I've accepted that part

Unlike base death they don't summon they like to appear from random places. Like with agk (abhorrent ghoul king) on terrorgheist which can summon crypt horrors from any board edge he like as long as it's 9 inches away from the enemy. Varghulf allows one to replenish his ghouls and horrors consistently

Just by buying 2SC! and a kurnoth box you can get this done:

1 spirit of durthu 400pts

1 treelord ancient 300pts

1 branwych 80pts

2x10 driads. 200pts

3x bow-wielding kurnoths 220pts.

1200pts on the dot for 175-180 euros before FLGS discounts (so knock it down between 10 to 20).

Looks really good. I don't know about Durthu though, his damage goes down quite drastically after taking two wounds? Is that normal in AoS?

Goddamn I'm getting hooked. So much to find out about.

Not really, but here's the kicker: most units don't do durthu's damage! Most units either do about 3 or d6 dmg for their main weapons, not flat and rapetastic sixes!

So he's an EXCELLENT distraction carnifex. Because he WILL get to swing and do substantial damage.

>So much to find out about
Remember about the battletome - you have some battalions, abilities and artifacts to browse

Alright, sounds good. Thanks user!

Yeah I've only briefly looked through it. Some of the battalions seem alright, but it's hard to judge their value without any experience playing. The one that gives extra spells seems ok?

Another user, but i will tell you.
FEC able to stack Ghouls attacks up to 4-5 per model from an unit of 40 models. Plus allied Necromancer -- second pile-in snd attack. If you are lucky enough -- allegiance ability can let you attack once more. Yes, their profile not so good and deal not mortal wounds, but 600 attacks for 400-600 pts is pretty good.

Anyone have the rumour engine list? I think that it is only the pauldron one here

which bloodthirster is best for a pure bloodbound army? Should I just get Skarbrand instead?

I've been working on this

Has that art-user finished the Irondrake yet?

Awesome. But such flat and unsophisticated eyes ruins overall impression.

It's a spider.

The purple and black carapace looks pretty sweet
Id bring some grey into the model tho

user is right, the worst part of that paintjob is the eyes
They need something

I would put a glaze on eyes - ardcoat should do the trick

Tough crowd

Do you intend to just bring it to tabletop standard from there

It looks great and there is nothing to bitch about but with a little eye improvement it can be even better

Just as some ardcoat to it to make them look wet and shiny, that'll fix 'em right up

how is this not already tabletop standard?

man, I knew it was going to happen yet I'm still disappointed

It's more than enough user.
Just a bunch of faggots who can't paint straight lines.

How do allies work if you use the Free Cities allegiances from Firestorm? Can I use anything from the Grand Alliance as allies, or what?

Thanks, will buy some tomorrow. Didn't know paint-on varnish was a thing. (Its my first army)

That whole video brought me back to my high school days of listening to Manowar and reading Conan.

I do have a small GA: C force but I am not even finished with my GA: O army. Maybe next time.

Put more bodies on the table. Mortal wounds chew through elite units.
Whats your list?

>tfw you remember dwarfs don't have a slayer oath anymore
It sounds like a little thing until it hits you in the middle of the night

So after a bit of deliberation, I decided I want to run a War-machine/Copter heavy Dispossessed force, but the allies points restriction was kinda ridiculously low for that at higher points. So I went with the Firestorm rules so I could take Ironweld as a normal unit. How's the list look so for, for a starter 1000pt list?

Allegiance: Tempest's Eye
Warden King (120)
- General
- Trait: Legendary Fighter
- Artefact: Obstinate Blade
Cogsmith (100)
10 x Warriors (80)
- Double-handed Duardin Axes & Shields
10 x Longbeards (120)
- Great Axes & Shields
10 x Warriors (80)
- Double-handed Duardin Axes & Shields
10 x Irondrakes (200)
Organ Gun (120)
Gyrocopters (80)
- Gun: Steam Gun
Gyrobombers (80)

Total: 980 / 1000
Allies: 0 / 200
Wounds: 63

Dorfs still have grudges though.

looks like an easy win against some oldfag who is hung up on the aesthetic of classic WHFB dwarfs

but whatever floats your boat man, if thats what you like then go for it.

wrathmongers I guess. skullreapers are more killy, but wrathmongers you basically need to shoot as they run to your behemoth, which means less shots at better targets.

I'm not even an oldfag though. I just like old dwarfs and also like Copters/Cannons. Though that is pretty similar to the old WHFB Dwarfs non-intentionally.

You need to group your warriors together into a unit of 20 so you can possibly use their 20+ model bonus.

Also forget your Cogsmith and take a Runelord. They are a MUST in a dorf army. If you are so worried about your warmachines misfiring, just switch to a cannon rather than an organ gun.

>Wrathmongers

>your 500 point model just punched itself in the face to death

sounds good for the laughs if nothing else.

The more I look at it, the more I'm kind of set aside with doing the half-assed Grand Alliance list since I lose out on the one movement ability Dwarfs have by not taking their allegiance; the pickaxe deepstrike. It sounds like a fun list but I doubt it's gonna win a lot, which is kind of a pain.

I'll just stick with regular Dorfs and table this idea for now, I think.

>200pts for 40 Marauders

Fucking oh boy this warqueen may hurry up and release already. Time to run like 160 marauders in a 2k game

does anyone know if there is some sort of source of models that are cheaper then the GW ones. the last two days I have been trying to build an army and failed, then tried to make a shadow spire or skirmish army, and those cost too much too.
If I download the rule books and the army lists, the armies still seem to cost 1$ per 1point, and models are run in 80-90s, with heros that cost even more or monsters I don't even consider because they cost more then I have money for the whole army.

There have to be some other firms making fantasy models, because I can't imagine everyone spending 800$ or more on a single army. The models don't have to look great, just be not to hard to assemble and legal to use for Age of Sigmar.

How bad of a list is this?

Allegiance: Tzeentch

Leaders
Lord Of Change (300)
- General
- Trait: Arch Sorcerer
- Artefact: Wellspring of Arcane Might
- Lore of Change: Tzeentch's Firestorm
The Changeling (140)
- Lore of Change: Treason of Tzeentch
Gaunt Summoner (120)
- Lore of Fate: Treacherous Bond

Battleline
10 x Pink Horrors Of Tzeentch (120)
- Lore of Change: Bolt of Tzeentch
10 x Pink Horrors Of Tzeentch (120)
- Lore of Change: Fold Reality

Behemoths
Mutalith Vortex Beast (200)

Total: 1000 / 1000
Allies: 0 / 200
Wounds: 56

This is not the game for you.

Also, you're really bad at making lists if theyre all costing a crapton. Look at other peoples' lists and base yours off of theirs, if you're stumped.

well that is what I did. AoS armies are crazy. 2-4 heros, then 80-90 models. 8-9 boxs to build a single army. Skirmish uses fewer models and 500-1000pts, but because you have to pick units from the big boxs anyway, it doesn't matter if your using 5 liberators or 10, as you have to buy a 10 man box anyway.
shadowspire was suppose to be the cheapest, but it can't be played without the starter set to get the tables, and my shop would have to order it from UK, which means postal costs and difference in vat have to be covered by me, so it ends 200$ anyway. And past 200$ it doesn't really matter to me if it costs 500$ or 10000$, as I don't have that kind of money.
I have to find some sort of a hobby, because my therapist tells me I have to be social. I don't want to end up in a fucking hospital again, and my only options are AoS, warhammer 4000 that costs even more and MtG, which I hate.
So are there or are there no other firms producing models for AoS, I kind of a have to know before the 5th of jan, because that is when I go to see my therapist.

I bought the Sepulchral Guard to add to my deathrattle, are the cards included with the box good enough to play shadespire without owning the core or are the cards that come in it necessary as well? I figured if yes j could play the game without buying the core and using other people's boards and such

No. GW are the only ones producing Age of Sigmar models, as its THEIR game.

Have you never heard of ebay before? There are tons of websites that sell models cheaper than retail, and then you can buy used stuff from people on forums.

Not every army needs a shit load of models though. Play a faction like Beastclaw Raiders and your army will be like....10-15 models.

>I have to find some sort of a hobby, because my therapist tells me I have to be social

this is not the hobby you want. it's basically self induced stress and frustration from spending vasts amount of money, hating your skills at mdelling and painting, and being surrunded by the most frustrating and autisti folk you can imagine.

for the love of god, don't do this for that reason. you want to be social? go take dancing classes. it's a largely outdated and mostly worhtless skill, but you can work on cordination, improve your health, and deal with a much more friendly gender balance.

Also there's other wargames with lower model count. Don't know how many people you can find in your area to play with, but it's worth a shot.
Otherwise go with Ogors or some other lowmodel army.

Why is Warhammer and MtG your only options?

I don't see the point of running the Gaunt Summoner unless if it's with familiars (everchosen) and points reserved for a Balewind Vortex.
In regards to Rule of One it seems that you have way too many spellcasters and not enough emphasis on unit strength. I don't see how you plan on holding objectives and making sure your units just don't get wiped off the board.

Most aos armies are like 50 models
Buy off ebay and dont play a horde army, the aos rules dont work well for them anyway

Do I need to do 3 layers of base coating? Ive applied 2 so far and it looks fine. I dont want to do another for fear of losing details

>TFW you remember that everything good in WHFB has died

There's also AOS skirmish, which has two books supporting it.

Honestly it is a petty basic Tzeentch Daemons list.

Consider dropping the Vortex Beast for a Balewind though. A Gaunt on a Balewind is a hard counter to every horde army in the game.

I have problems enough with walking stright, and that is on the good days, when I don't need a wheel chair to move or can't move at all.
I don't know how to use ebay, I only have cash I got for christmas and birthday. But thanks for the information about the lack of other firms making models for AoS. I have been told to go beastclaw too, on that forum you people sent me to 2 days ago. And while yes the armies are made out of few models, those single models cost 20-25$ each, which means that even an army of 15 models cost more 150-200$, because the starter sets cost 85 and you need 2-3 of them.

Possible, only warhammer 4000, age of sigmar and MtG are the only ones played at the store. I could techniclly buy something else, the store doesn't care as long as I pay the postal cost, but I would have no one to play with, and I already don't know anyone here.

The game rules and cards are more important than the minis.

>and being surrunded by the most frustrating and autisti folk you can imagine.

American detected. The AoS-crowd here in Swedistan is the most chill Veeky Forums-related community I've ever encountered.

I'd say it's a decent hobby for making friends and being social, I made most of my initial connection whenI moved to a new city through Warhammer. However, I already owned an army so I could start playing right away.

There's a pretty big step between buying your models and actually playing with them. MTG is more instant in that regards, but it's not as good in terms of pure socialising, since matches are way quicker and it not having the same "social contract" as Warhammer.

If you are losing detail your paint is way, way, too thick.

no other games are played at the store. well actually that is not totally true, people also play some sort of game with huge robots and monsters as tall as a for arm. they look a bit like games workshop stuff, but not all of them.

yes, asked people at the store about it and on the forums. It is not much cheaper then buying a normal smaller Age of Sigmar list. Plus no body plays it here. Only 2000-2250pts games.

well yeah but I have the rules pdf, are the cards in the core mandatory?

I haven't lost any yet and my paint seems fine so maybe I'm worrying about nothing

You're in Sweden. Everywhere is the most chill community as long as the immigrants aren't raping everyone.

I don't think that chill is the word to describe any activity done in my country. If anything it is the reverse of chill. And I don't really care about the socialisation. I just need to do it, so my therapist doesn't send me off back to the hospital. fucking hate it. am too old to be on the children wing, and you do not want to see the psychiatric ward for adults trust me.

How many hits does a moving van do?

Yes. What part of "the game rules AND CARDS are more important than the minis" did you not get?

Shadespire is a board game, not a war game. You could play it just as well with tokens instead of minis, but you actually need to have the board game part.

Why not just start playing a game, you have problems with games which other people are playing.

Infinity is ~100$ for a 2 player starter, and maybe another 40$ to get tournament ready armies.
Relicblade is 70$ for the 2 player starter and it's all you need.
Mordheim is maybe 50$ for a warband, all the rules are online and free.
Frostgrave is even cheaper.

Hey, what else would go well with this list?

Leaders
Arkhan
Wight King with Baleful Tomb Blade

Battleline

2x20 Skeletons with Swords and Shields
1x40 Skeletons with Spears and Shields

Other

1x2 Morghast Archai
1x 10 Graveguard
2x 5 Black Knights

Comes to 1660 points.

Just play fucking D&D

Mortis Engine I imagine. Hex Wraiths are better than Black Knights. Hell, just toss some ghosts in your list. Any flavor. They're fantastic for sprinkling.

GW should resurrect Bretonnia aesthetics in Grand Alliance Death Zombies/Vampire.

Do you agree?

Why would they do that when they already brought Brettonia back as the Flesh Eater Courts?

can I play a decent game if I have the Sepulchral Guard and their cards and another player has the board and everything else?

will I be unable to play if I alone lack the universal cards that come in the core? or will I be unable to win because I lack key cards?

I guess you got a point there.

I always get suprised when I read posts about how every 40k-player in X locale is an obnoxious neckbeard that doesn't shower.
The average Swedish wargamer is a 30+ dude who's married. I'm suually the youngest at 26.
The only annoying fuck we had was an Irish kid that legit had tourettes.

Glad he stopped showing up.

No? I don't want shitty dead brets.
I'd not be opposed to an army of sleek deathknights, nor to a fantasy reimagining of brets, but that particular combination is bland and boring.

yeah, with your budget, warhammer just isn't the game for you.

unfortunately there aren't really gonna be any mainstream popular fantasy games to play with people if you can't spend the cash.

maybe D&D?

If you are playing someone that has a set of universal cards that you can use you should be OK. The game comes with two decks.

I would, but no one plays those games here.
what is that D&D?

Dungeons and Dragons. The main other game that Veeky Forums is a board for.

Dungeons and Dragons. Surely you must know what that is?

I second it, it's probably your best bet if you can't move properly and Warhammer simply is out of your budget.

That's why I recommended 2 player kits, you can always start communities. It's actually pretty rewarding. I have a Relicblade night every week where we've had 6 people involved for awhile now.

Oh shit, I had no idea about your disability. Yeah play DnD. If you have problems moving, miniatures really shouldn't be something to force yourself into.

Miniatures for me are something that we, in this community, can't help but throw endless money at.
