>Beastfolk are humans press ganged by mother nature into fighting back against encroaching civilization. >Most Beastfolk are unwillingly mutated into what they are now, generally by being lured into transformative pits, springs, and other places where nature's magic is strong. >the changes are usually permanent, but leaves the person's mind mostly intact. Maybe an instinctual revulsion to large collections of industrious humans.
Sound like a good start? or does it need a bit more tweaking?
Josiah Clark
>humans press ganged by mother nature into fighting back against encroaching civilization How do them getting turned into furries actually stop civilisation?
Henry Taylor
Well, what stops them from rebelling, gathering into large though still tribal groups and in turn trying to get revenge for their forced transformation by destroying nature?
Caleb Garcia
>no muzzle fuck off
Logan Howard
Not a whole lot actually, nobody said mother nature was smart. Look at the Platypus.
Probably something to do with soldiers and eco-terrorists.
Aaron Jones
fuck off, retard
Dylan Garcia
Blossom is OP and you should feel bad fetishguy

I don't wanna get banned for posting furry outside of /trash/ so gonna have to take that hit.
Jason Wood
i am a simple man. I see Dryads, i save them.
John Young
They then beguile civilizedd people with their degenerate ways.
Evan White
Is this a stealth /k/ thread?
Jeremiah Ortiz
Hah!
Zachary Nguyen
What's wrong with Platypus? Seems quite self-sufficient.
Austin Brown
that's because you passed your San Check, and ignored its eldritch truth.
Julian Nguyen
Their greatest weapons are venomous fang in heel. Out of all things you could have evolved into they chose like the worst tech tree.
Chase Lee
>press ganged >mutated unwillingly >mind mostly intact "Hello humans, please do not be alarmed. As much as your permanent stone dwellings inspire feelings of revulsion, I'd like you to know that Mother Nature is turning people into beasts so she can fight back. Myself and others like me have decided that they won't be used like pawns in this way, and so we've decided to ask for your help in burning down all the forests nearby. Thank you."
Christopher Long
Is it furry to fuck you?
Wyatt Torres
"Wait, no, fuck it, we're on Team Nature now".
Grayson Sanchez
C-Can I join?

Joke's on you, I'm a rabbit that was mutated into a human by a magic civilisation whorehouse and I'm getting my revenge on civilisation this way.
Nicholas Brooks
Toned down version of the WOD yiff-heavy games
Carter Bailey
>It a nature's plan all along
Nicholas Taylor
>was*
>The rise of magic civilisation was too a part of her plan
Oliver Anderson
Very thoughtful of an abstract entity.
Noah Fisher
If you wanna bring ruin to civilisation, sparing no one, you gotta think creatively.
Oliver Cox
Yeah, I can see that happening.
Joshua Nelson
>being lured into transformative pits By whom? Will-o-wisps? Also, someone already mentioned this, but if Mother Nature is trying to recruit help solely by giving humans dysphoria and a phobia of big cities, she's going to make a lot more problems than she's solving.
Charles Hall
PS: would tie up Blossom and train her to be a ponygirl
Julian Diaz
POO POO PEE PEE MOTHER NATURE CALLS FOR THEE
Jacob Rivera
Huh. Yeah, I really like that idea actually. Will be stealing it.
Isaac Collins
Unless most of nature's recruits are drawn from a group that sees this as an honor or something I'd think there would have to be some substantial mental restructuring along with the physical change. I'd have a hard time thinking most people would just go along with being magically abducted, physically changed then told everything they knew was now the enemy. Unless that was their fetish or whatever I think you'd end up with Warhammer Beastmen who just want to fuck up and shit on everything, nature for doing that to them and civilization because of some low level compulsion or just for the lulz.
Jaxon Garcia
Perhaps the luring magic is attuned toward people who are lonely or disaffected with society? People whose minds are occupied with their friends and family don't notice anything, but people who don't have pleasant distractions find their ruminations drifting towards thoughts of a particular dark secluded spot in the forest where they can find peace and tranquility.
The humans that knew them barely notice their disappearance, and the newly transformed beastfolk finally have a place where they feel they belong and would be more than willing to defend it from the society they already resented.
Oliver Perry
Tbqh there's a stronger chance that humans that are unwillingly transformed will either refuse to cooperate unless there's a chance of being turned back or become the largest advocates of forest destruction that learn to ignore their revulsion out of sheer spite because fuck nature for turning them into animal people against their will. Without some serious mindrape or bribery going on it just doesn't seem viable.
Carson Brooks
Congratulations, you just made fantasy ecoterrorist ISIS.
Dylan Wood
I love it, going to use it in my next campaign. Great way to introduce beastmen as savages with a permanent hate boner for civilization.
Samuel Martinez
...
Leo Wright
Why not mutate animals instead? Makes it a bit more ambiguous about how evil the process is, since you're uplifting an animal instead of deleting a person.
Gavin Lee
why not both ? making them equal and unable to tell who was a human and who was a animal ?
Leo Nguyen
That seems like it would make more sense. You can take a person out of civilization, but you can't take civilization out of the person. Unless the the forest community is strong enough or the person responds well enough to its culture to give in and go native.
I wonder how people on the fringe of society would be treated, such as rangers or mountain men.
Joseph Ross
They have mammal, bird and snake DNA. They're a shitshow
Isaiah Nelson
Mutating an animal creates a soldier, mutating a human creates one while removing one of the enemy's. A former human will also know a lot more about the enemy, they'll know how they fight and where to strike to do the most damage.
Isaiah Mitchell
Um. No, they only have mammal DNA, since they are mammals.
Christopher Russell
Platypi are vertebrates. Saying they have bird DNA is one of those trick facts like stating almost 100% of tumor biopsies contain dihydrogen monoxide.
Juan Jenkins
>muh mother nature I wish this hippy dippy bullshit personification of nature, created by cityboys who think they're "in tune with nature" because they go camping for a weekend every other year, didn't infect nearly everything to do with fantasy. They're responsible for 90% of elves being garbage, druids being unreasonable dumbasses, and all manner of forest creatures being faggotized.
Zachary Morris
Agreed. Nature is half your kids dying before they reach adulthood, it isn't in itself a good thing.
Oliver Sanchez
This version of "Mother Nature" that they're talking about seems like an awful cunt, but I get what you're talking about. In my recent campaign, instead of a unifying "Mother," the nature of places used what it had to defend itself. Which led to everything from rainforests growing and engulfing territory around it, to spore-based plagues that killed entire civilisations in order to create a new seedbed for the prime fungi's children.
Cameron Bailey
Isn't overpopulating with no brakes a bad thing too?
Sebastian Stewart
I would put into the deer, mein Benis.
Alexander Reed
Mind you, it's a venomous barb with a toxin that will leave you in agonizing pain for days or weeks afterwards.
Luis Mitchell
That's the thing, nature doesn't give a fuck. Over population leads to starvation and predation, which allows other species to take advantage of an open niche and thrive. Nature is anarcho capitalism, evolution, and opportunism.
Ethan Morgan
Wrong board /k/.
Luis Diaz
WHY ARE YOU MAKING BLACK PEOPLE INTO MONSTERS AGAIN. FUCK YOU CRACKA!
Grayson Williams
Hey, female deer don't have antlers...
Evan Jones
And then you’re wasting all those resources, man power, and time having to do shit like make cleaner air for your dystopian cities when you could have just left the forests alone and had nature do the work for you.
Luke Foster
Yeah, having nature do the work for you and also dying of malaria from all the thousands and thousands of mosquito bites you get every day.
Henry Thomas
Statistically out of the ordinary for most species, but it does happen. For caribou, this is normal. Most deer outgrow spots in their hair. Those seem to be the design analogue to freckles for this character, so it is likely that the antlers are similarly just a neat design or character silhouette thing.
Alexander James
Sounds like furfaggotry.
Sebastian Scott
Now I kinda want to see an anti-druid paladin order built around a god(dess) of agriculture and animal husbandry that use nature-based powers in opposition to nature rather than for it
Carter Scott
>with a toxin that will leave you in agonizing pain for days or weeks afterwards.
That's not unique to that species, since toxins are explicitly designed by evolution to maim and murder.
Joseph Barnes
>rainforest trying to overgrow >desert drying up land around it >grassland stuck in the middle >the glaciers hunger for the next ice age
Joseph Williams
Since civilization abhors a furry, the furries would rise up against them Then the furries would make their own civilization
Christopher Taylor
You don't get banned for posting non sexual furry outside of /trash/
The rule only really applies to furry porn, and even then, it's kind of loosely enforced
>pic semi related
Benjamin Gutierrez
am a bit paranoid. so better safe than sorry
Mason Williams
If I pretend it's worldbuilding, I can post whatever dumb shit I want!!!
Thomas Lee
you're new here, aren't you?
Lucas Gomez
Yes, yes, this is exactly how Veeky Forums works.
We still get good things (or at least hilariously bad things) out of it.
Joshua Bailey
You probably should give the beastfolk increased strength/vitality/animal related powers to make them a bit less likely to screw nature out of spite. Maybe this happens mostly to children to indoctrinate them more easily, in a lost in the woods/fey stealing naughty children type of thing.
Or instead of having the planet be up against humans, make it some side effect of an irresponsible wizard
>deer eats contaminated plant in the woods >hunter shoots deer, sells meat on the market >bunch of peasants turn into deer people after eating the meat >are persecuted and need to flee into the woods >small tribe of angry beastmen forming
>decades/centuries later the party comes through the area >tensions between beastfolk and humans are high, traders are under attack >lets just assume they aren't murderhobos >bard studies local legends for the origin of beastfolk >wizard investigates weird magical phenomena >fighter, ranger and druid investigate the attack sites and forest to find the hideout of the beastfolk >wizard and bard conclude the weird magic is behind the curse of the woods >track it down ancient mage laboratory deep in the woods >meanwhile the rest of the party finds the beastmen and starts diplomacy >noble/rich merchant approaches the party claiming that the local lord had him cursed to get rid of a political opponent >with the party now knowing both the origin and the location of the beast tribe they have to decide which side to support >the city guard want to get rid of the beastfolk once and for all >the nobillity want to have them rendered harmless but kept around as a convenient scapegoat >one faction of beastfolk try to preserve the curse as the origins of their "race" and conquer a territory for themselves >another faction wants just to have peace with the hope of finding a way to break the curse in the future
Cameron Watson
I think it'd work better as more of a Fae thing, like Changeling the Lost.
Ethan Price
That's not a fucking beastman you absolute retard.
William Rodriguez
How exactly? Is it fey that create the beastfolk and maybe use them as their warriors? Humans turned into fey against their will? Or just a group of fey fighting with humans for land?
I think a fey invasion wouldn't really offer the same choice of factions because players are more likely to side with humans who are just living in the area. It also has nothing to connect it to OP's scenary anymore. Flavoring the beastfolk as part fey or some fey shenanigangs be the origin of beastfolk would work better I believe. What I was aiming for was a sort of open ended scanerio where depending on their choices the party could open up new quests or gain some allies to call on later.
If they side with the beastfolk nationalist you could even run another campaing farther in the future with beastfolk as a full on playable race to show what consequences their actions have had.
Levi Sanders
>tfw furfags ruined satyrs and centaurs
Jackson Young
In my setting the only animal people are were-animals, which come about when a person tries to vampirically feed on animals instead of people
Brandon Hill
Furfags ruined centaurs. Satyrs and their kind have always been sexually charged, and have usually represented some uneasiness at the non-human.
Owen Allen
Cue the comic of the centaur running a human woman down and raping her to death.
It was hot up until the point she died from horse dick.
Gavin Carter
Centaurs were just as sexually charged. They're sexuality was just less obscene than Satyrs once the latter became better known as followers of Dionysus. They were rapists and pillagers. Plus they're women were obsessed with making themselves beguiling for their rambunctious husbands once they returned home, the saucy tarts.
Carter Diaz
>Zootopia: Secret Origins
Noah Thomas
To be fair, it really depends on how the mods are feeling that day. I've gotten banned or warned for posting completely sfw, fully clothed beastmen here, or talking about shit like endtown or zootopia on /co/
Caleb Gutierrez
>tfw when ancient Greek texts go on and on about how huge the Centaur's "clubs" are

Some asshole: "Modern degeneracy has ruined what was once good! We must return to Greco-Roman decencies!"
Greco-Roman "decencies": Hard gay sex and furries all GOTDAMN day
