Previously on /5eg/:
Is WOT4E worth playing? Also get a pic from the character art link & post it here for stating.

There's already another thread.

>OP art is a barely-dressed girl with exposed breasts

Wow, we sure are off to a great start.

delet this

Tried it, WOT4E isn't good but it isn't awful either. It's just inefficient in my opinion.

So, I'm playing a lvl 4 shadow sorc and I want to be more of a controller/support instead of a damage dealer, what are some good spells to pick up? I already have Detect Thoughts, Invisbility and. Suggestion.
Also, should I get Ritual Caster (wiz) or Elemental Adept? Both are great feats but I'm not sure if I should get something to break the enemy's defenses or Detect Magic and Identify without having to spend spell slots.

Do you guys think adding a negative to players rolls per amount of damage taken and having healinh spells only heal up to thier last amount of damage taken would be a good way to make midish lvl characters not absolute killing machines

...

Whats better for an AT, going 2 levels in Bladesinger or just taking AT levels?

Bump

How do I Ciri in 5e?

How do i coffee lock?

...

REAL THREAD:

I should add depending on your DM, not taking a long rest may give you exhaustion points. Even if you do take a shitload of short rests.

Checks out

She's a Fighter (Eldritch Knight.)

Bait Thread.

Hentai link in OP. Report this thread, and go to :

But user, that thread rolls for stats where as we use the superior point buy/standard array.

I actually hate this threads op but you're being a Faggot and making me want to stay

Samurai Fighter or Way of the Kensei Monk. Which one is better mechanically and which one is more fun

Depends, UA Samurai or Xanthers? If you want to do nothing than attack then I suggest samurai. Also Kensei is really fun especially when multiclassed with Battlemaster Fighter.

What's the difference between the UA and Xanathar's Samurais?

UA Samurai was actually decent, with fighting spirit recharging on a short rest & having advantage for 3 turns as opposed to one in Xanthar's. Also instead you gain 5 temp hp which scales to 15 by level 15 as opposed to having resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, slashing & piercing damage.

WOTC basically neutered Samurai because they can't let

For:

>at level 6 warlocks can only cast 3 spells
>sure they are all at level 3 and restore at short rest
>sure you got boons, invocations and cantrips
>but fucking 3 spells
>At level 20 warlocks only can cast 10 spells
On a side question how can you cast fly on yourself for indefinitely or just burn alot of slots?

Coffeelock my friend. Take a read of it.

Just make sure you take long rest and eat real food.

>Long rest
No, take multiple short rests instead.

What would strahd send to fuck with the players at the cementery? what kind of monsters

>

Fuck off with your bait thread.

And ours doesn't have porn in the OP

Does mirror image/any illusion allow rogue to sneak attack.

I can't see any porn in the OP unlike your bait thread.

Shadbase is an r34 site bubba lips. Our op doesn't even feature humanoids.

How do I scale a moon Druid into late game? Assuming the answer lies somewhere in beast magic but I’m not seeing it.

Horizon Walker probably

The elemental forms are nice when you get them. Just remember that you can wild shape for a looooong time and when you're not in wild shape you're still a full caster.

>You’re still a full caster
Yeah but the Druid spell list is pretty bad from what I’ve seen.

Any tips or pointers for playing an overly zealous Paladin?

Other than DEUS VULT

going back to /pol/, I guess

What are some deities that do well for a neutral-aligned Zealot Barbarian?

What's wrong with the character idea

Ideas for a character that isn't tropey or common, but not a meme or edgy?

The Wheelbarrow

Don't just use it as an excuse to be meet out justice against other non-believers or common theves and brigands who fail to live up to the virtues of your faith. Turn your attention to any hypocricy, against the corrupt nobles who are allowing the brigands who you just smit(?is that the correct conjugation?) to roam free on without proper protection for the locals, and turn the same critical eye towards your own institution of faith, maybe going as far as splitting off from them because they're not pure enough or maybe you deem it necessary to start a coup and take your rightful place as the religious head of the church.

Tempus

I'm making a (Wood) Elf for an upcoming campaign, starting at 4th level. We have a Paladin, archery Ranger and Sorcerer already so I was thinking of making either a Cleric or Druid.

Which class is generally better?

I'll repost it to find this threads answers as well.

What is your favorite gish?

Look again.

Counterspell can save lives if you stop a critical spell. Web is a strong contender for control, and Haste is a great pickup when you hit level 5. Fog cloud does work for a level 1 spell of you place it right and Blindness/Deafness is a good pickup because you can upcast it to multiple targets and it doesn't need concentration.

Hold Person is among the strongest control spells though you can't rely on it all the time.

Max charisma before taking feats to boost your saves; Elemental adept is really not worth it, especially if you are focusing on control. It's better to just cast a different element, and immunity is just as common as resistance so the feat won't do much for you. Ritual caster is decent but Warcaster is a strong contender to avoid dropping concentration on your big control spells.

Cleric is more fun

How so?

They're bad blasters but it's not a bad spell list. You get a lot of utility.

Realistically speaking, how crippling is it gonna be if I delay my 20 in Cha as a tomelock to get the spell sniper feat at level 8?

Why are there so many CHA casters and so few INT casters anyway?

What does muh Deus Vult have to do with /pol/?
Coffeelock?
Cleric 100%, probably Life domain.
Because muh flavor. There's a Witch in PF (plays something like a 5e warlock really, and that's probably not a coincidence) that should by all rights be CHA but it's INT for balance.

Maybe more people feel magic than straight up study it?

>bad guys are ambushing the party
>barbarian has the mcguffin, so he's the primary target
>one of the bad guys is an old nemesis of the party
>he has warlock casting and an ability similar to Sneak Attack
>now he also has Shadow Blade and 3rd level slots
>meaning 3d8+Dex+5d6 irresistible psychic damage
>if I want to be a dick, I can throw Green-Flame Blade on top of that
>other ambushers are monsters who can cast Darkness several times
>they also have blindsight
>old nemesis has blindsight too
>Shadow Blade has advantage to attack in darkness

Am I being too evil?

FORGE CLERIK FTW

utterly/10

How is this party composition:
Ancestral Barbarian, Ancients Paladin, Lore Bard

I feel like it sorta hits the Fighter, Cleric, Wizard trifecta but by sharing roles.

I feel like you've posted this before.

Get your bard a thieves' tools proficiency and you're all set.

The warlock was going to be a INT caster autists bitched to make it CHA.

What is the highest level you can reasonably start people at in curse of strahd with out it being wildly unbalanced. I read it was for adventure for lvl 1 to 10 but all of my players are experienced players and I don't want to make them slog from level 1 to 5 but don't want it to be too easy. I'm a first time DM fyi.

I am so burnt out trying to prep for this week.

on the list:
> organize binder of campaign shit
> write response letter to the nitpicking autist who thinks every split infinitive is some kind of clue ("My mentor woudln't make those mistakes!")
> prepare escape and pressure scenarios
> prepare sewer scenerios
> prepare dialog on major points for the parting meeting the guy they're accused of murdering
> finish the sewer map
> think some more about the barge, possibly map it
> finish a mini painting, detail, wash and coat (won't happen)
> try to organize my files and folders (again)
> probably more that hasn't occurred to me

I can't wait until they are somewhere all their backstories didn't happen, somewhere they don't know everything and everybody and instead of preparing semi-railroad potentialities and having to exactly date letters and double check all the names.

Why do I DM again?

>that is porn

>for the party meeting the guy they're accused of murdering
Sounds awkward. I like it. He lives in the sewers?

...

Have a Kensei monk and after reading the new UA thinking of dipping two levels into druid for circle of spores. An extra d6 on 4 attack a turn for 10 minutes twice a day seems pretty good. Also the reaction utility seems nice and Im already high wis so my spell casting ability isnt too bad.

Any downsides?

>the nitpicking autist who thinks every split infinitive is some kind of clue
Nobody cares about split infinitives any more.
Star Trek won, and now we boldly go...

You guys seriously never encountered shadman?

I look at porn on other site. Never heard of this one before, mate.

>making cleric for a level 20 campaign
>figure i'll try a arcane cleric (SCAG)
>never made a cleric in nearly 20 years of D&D

what take?

Spirit guardians, and spiritual weapon. Imo some of the best Cleric spells in 5e.

Best way to make an elven gish using two swords?

Smote

Easily an EK with 1-2 dip in warlock.

Reposting from the last thread...

>EK 7/War Wizard 13
>War Magic using two Longswords or Longsword + Shadow blade

or

>Stone Sorcerer 15/Hexblade Bladelock 5
>Quicken Spell with Booming Blade + Pact Longsword or Shadow Blade.

I can't help but mention it... but this homebrew Sorcerer can do the EK War Magic thing with a longsword and Shadow Blade, with arcane type "Smites" to work with the longsword. So you can pull off a Dual Weidler with extra arcane features to feel closer to a Spellblade. Also, you have Quicken Spell so you can do both.

Its INT in my games and always will be. It unbalanced so much shit making it CHR, especially now with hexblade.

Need a good reason for the party to want to stop a war, other than "War is bad."

They live in the country that is the hostile faction, so, all things considered, they don't have allot of reason to not want it. But that doesn't make for a very interesting narrative.

That is Shadman? Google Reverse just shows pinterest links for Tauriel.

These fucking builds are ridiculous. Go play WoW, for the love of god.

You're hardly ever going to reach level 13+, and you're fucking ruining the game for literally everyone else because you're the fucking idiot who can't do anything the entire campaign because your character "hasn't come online yet" or you're constantly trying to get into situations to farm xp.

Why is the war happening, is it a Just War? If not, tell them why it isn't just. Mad, ranting priests on the roadside could do the talking. Heavy on the prophecy. If they still want war, go with it. Show the horrors of war, villains on both sides, refugee crises, the whole nine yards. But never tell the players that they made the wrong choice, unless you are voicing it through a madman.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_war_theory

Also, storytime. What is going on in your game?

It would be categorized as unjust.
The previous King was keeping peace between two countries. He's killed by the other country. Prince becomes ruler and calls for war. Queue evidence showing it was a false flag.

Hey, can you stop shilling your garbage for like, five seconds? Thanks.

How do I make a dual-wielding shortsword elf ranger good in 5e?
Also how the hell does dualwielding interact with extra attack? Do I get two primary attacks one offhand attack? Two attacks? Two with each hand? I am guessing it's the first one but I don't know.
I feel like my best option is two-weapon fighting style, and maybe a dip into fighter for Defense fighting style later, get dual-wielder feat for another +1 AC, so I could have 19 AC while wearing studded leather with 20 Dex.... I don't know.

For actual gameplay, all good multiclass builds should either make sense for the character, allow the character to do things that make roleplaying sense, and "come online" at level 3-5.

In one we've finally managed to track down the Elven refuge camp to find out about the BBEG we're hunting. As far as we can tell he betrayed them for some reason and is now trying to gather artifacts for some reason. We're hoping they can shed more light on it.

In the other we're currently performing some tasks for a local noble, he's hinted about their being something bigger going on we have a chance to get involved with. Once we prove ourselves.

>be forever DM
>player gets beat in a fight
>says I want to be the strongest
>I'm just going to go hunt or something until I'm stronger

>For actual gameplay
actual what now?

I don't have a question.

Play never winter nights if you want to do all of this and leave other players alone.

If a multiclass doesn't come online by level 4, it's hot garbage and completely impractical. It's double garbage if it's done for the soul purpose of being strong and not because it fits the character at all.

Build the class around the character, not the other way around

If it was a false flag, show your players the evidence or just give the paranoid player a reason to doubt the official line.

The prince as a villain should be fun.

You can pull off what the user wants at level 7 with EK, and at level 3 with the Stone Sorcerer. I was just giving my personal favorite build.

If he is able to use homebrew he could pull it off at level 6 with the Conduit.

EK 7
>Greenflame Blade/Booming Blade Shadowblade Action
>War Magic Bonus action attack Longsword
>Action Surge Attack with both weapons
You don't even need TWF for this.

Stone Sorcerer 3
>Action Booming Blade Longsword
>Bonus Action Quicken Spell Greenflame Blade with other Longsword
Slower and will run out of juice quickly, but it's doable.

Arcane Conduit 6
>Action Booming Blade Shadow Blade
>Bonus Action Longsword + Shocking Strike
This can also be amped a little more if you quicken spell with the longsword and Shocking Strike. It cost 4 points... but it looks cool.
