The tribes exist on Earth and continue to compete for resources and territory, though on a small, controlled scale. The dominant cultures of present day Europe include:

Woad (UK mainland, defeated and drove out the now-exctinct Danes after they took England. Notable for still openly practicing witchcraft and employing sorcerers for official matters.)

Greater Gaul (Main territories include France, Spain, Portugal, southern Germany and northern Italy. Openly share their metal goods with other cultural groups.)

Romulus Pact (most of Italy, Sicily, currently pushing through to Romania and contesting control of northwestern Greece. Facing minor famine after a long conflict with Gaul 60 years before resulted in an unprecedented mass-salting of the earth.)

Old Macedonia (Greece mainland, with smaller allied tribes such as Sparta and Lesbos taking the island territories. Currently in decline and struggling.)

Gilgamesh/Ottoman territories (Covers Turkey, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Northern Saudi Arabia and most of Iran. Home to the legendary but currently unambitious warrior tribes, The Children of Enkidu and New Anatolia.)

Pagan Commune (Stretches out from Poland up to Norway, Sweden and Finland. Responsible for bringing about the extinction of the Danes and finishing off the Christian Crusaders after their unsuccessful campaign into Gaul 100 years past.)

Note that each culture contains dozens of individual tribes with their own territories and laws, these names are of alliances and cultural commonalities.

have a look at Personal Use laws for firearms in the USA, then look into 80% lower receivers. purchasing incomplete parts and then machining out the rest of the firearm is fairly common, particularly among older vets and oathkeepers. it's not a huge step to machine a weapon from the ground up, it just makes things more expensive and time consuming. if a local gunsmith in this setting took the time to build machines to stamp out particular pieces, a tribe could be known for using one specific type of firearm to the exclusion of others. this is likely to be the case anyway, since stamping brass is going to be the only efficient way of producing ammunition. So you'll have your noble barbarian tribe who uses only the FAL, your northern tribes who use only AKs, your north eastern tribes who use only Mosins, your far western tribes who use only M16s, etc.

And those workshops only manage that because there's a factory making consistent highg-carbon steel files for them to buy, and another one with a furnace the size of a building churning out sheet metal on the cheap for them to work with, and a THIRD one making springs, and all three of them only function because there's ten drilling machines the size of busses tearing out ore to smelt and coal to run the power plant that supplies the region. Meanwhile the thousands of workers involved in the operation need clothes, food, entertainment, and housing provided to them by others so they can afford to dedicate their time to their jobs, so now we need to lump all those industries in.

As of the prehistorical tribes, the planet they live on is very arid and so had only fostered a small population of hardened nomadic tribes which often came into conflict over resources and oasis's which meant life or death to these people. The outcome of the Great Judgement has molded the shared spiritual beliefs of all the tribes into a religion that condemns warfare but places unbelievable amount of importance on the technology, or 'artifacts' of the gods. This religion more or less controls the historical and cultural narrative of the tribes and to question it is a great blasphemy. As for the artifacts, some say should be used to benefit the people while other iconoclasts say should be left or destroyed as their use will only anger the gods and cause ruin for the people. Others more jealously try to keep technological findings to their own selfish uses. Nevertheless the technology of the Gods is what is responsible for having governed advancement of the tribes to the current age, and the rare conflicts that occur between the tribes is always due to the discovery of powerful artifacts, which have only gotten worse due to the growth of tribal tech, hence why many believe they should not be tampered with.

Due to the world anarchy, island nations are self contained superpowers, only kept from dominating the world due to their own internal wars. While most of the world has modern tech, island nations have developed far more powerful advancements, leading the rest of the world to suspect they are aliens.
