Plan is to put Lieutenant + plasma squad OR storm bolter/heavy bolter squad in the Razorback (depending on if I face a horde army or a more elite one) and try and join the deep-striking Captain and Vets. VanVets then aim for the vehicles, and failing that, charge whatever unit they can. Devastators and lascannon team try and shoot vehicles from afar.
Questions I have so far:
- is 33 models to low a count for 1000pts?
- is keeping the Vanguard Vets versatile a good idea? I feared keeping every thunderhammer in the same squad would draw too much attention on them, now the opponent shouldn't really know what to focus on - but I probably lose on effectiveness.

Obliterators are the new hotness. They're taken in the tournament scene. I'd say they're almost mandatory in a chaos shooting list, but don't go overboard and bring 3 Max units or your opponent will be sad.

I've only played 1,000 pt games because I'm schizo and can't stick to one army. Good news is that I've swapped armies so many times that I'm starting to come back around to armies I've already used. I'll be ready for 2,000 pt games soon.
I particularly like games of over 2000 points, because it gives my Necrons even less chance of winning, and it takes longer too!

1. 33 models is fine and since you've taken a good variety of anti-horde and anti-tank only really skewed lists are going to get you.
2. Splitting those thunderhammers will keep them alive but also just causes both to be focused and vanguard are not tanky. You could have the TH+SS guys in one squad and leverage there flight advantage to spring on tanks from safety and also take the heat for your other squads.

So I've decided to embrace my inner National Socialist and buy some Forgeworld stuff, what exactly should I get for my Iron Warriors? I love the Deredeo Dred, but it seems to me the Decimator is way more efficent points-wise. If it helps, I'm looking for a backline gunner that feels weighty enough for the IW, perhaps artillery even.
Alternatively, is there an effective, full-on-melee unit that is too good to ignore? The leviathan seems fantastic, but without any way to deep strike it, seems like it would just get focused down during its march up the board before I get to rip and tear.
never. While I have more than 2k points of models, once I go over about 1850, it becomes less a carefully-crafted army list, and more an hodge-podge of just putting in every unit I own.

If so, how would I summon a Great Unclean One in a Death Guard army? Would I need to have a second detachment of Nurgle Daemons?
Related question: Are there any key differences between Plaguebearers in the Death Guard codex, and Plaguebearers in the new Chaos Daemons codex? Would either unit recieve/be denied buffs depends on which detachment they were part of?

Anyone have a pet squad/unit you always take even if they're shit? Personally, I always take my 5 man CSM squad with plasma plasma and combi-plasma. They never do much, but they try. I could take like 30 cultists instead, but nope.
