First for Dispossessed

How do you feel about Massive Regiment Discounts?

it's what killed WHFB.
I'd be surprised if GW repeats that mistake, but at the same time not surprised at all that the reason WHFB was inaccessible to new players went completely over their heads.
That's what happens if you use rules as marketing tool.

Allegiance: Dispossessed
-Warden King General (120)
Grudgebearer

-Runelord (80)
Ancestral Pickaxe

Warriors x40 (280) with GWs shields and a Runic banner

Longbeards x10 (120) with GWs and shields

Cannon (180)

Irondrakes x10 (200) Ironwarden with torpedo

980/1000

>Reading Maggotkin rules and units
>This ability does not affect Nurgle units
>Nurgle units instead heal wounds

CLAN PESTILENS COUNTER FOR MAGGOTKIN CONFIRMED

Seems okay but I think a Cannon is a bit of a waste in 1000pts. Very similar to mine but you have more bodies.

Allegiance: Dispossessed
Runelord (80)
- Artefact: Ancestral Pickaxe
Warden King (120)
- General
- Trait: Reckless
Auric Runesmiter (80)
- Forge Key
- Allies
10 x Hammerers (180)
10 x Longbeards (120)
- Great Axes & Shields
10 x Longbeards (120)
- Great Axes & Shields
10 x Irondrakes (200)
5 x Auric Hearthguard (100)
- Allies

Total: 1000 / 1000
Allies: 180 / 200
Wounds: 60

I don't think it's game-breaking in general, but for most armies it's kinda dumb. I mean, gobbos and skeletons and whatnot? That's fine. But nobody wants his opponent set down a blob of 30 liberators or some shit like that.

Why do they splitting shit up when they are obviously the same army.

Reckless is a shit trait since the nerf, plus you can't just mix allegiance stuff anymore.

>Army that is perfect to make themed terrain pieces and markers but has only token allegiance abilities and nearly no lore
>Army that has a good chance for updates and is doing quite well even on budget but is not making my nipples hard
>Army that has great lore and models but was nerfed into oblivion
And here I am, on the verge of lunacy and madness. Why GW is making this so hard

Oh i thought you could always take your GA stuff? And what nerf, I'm out of the loop. I thought it was still reroll charges/run within 10"?

So, after much deliberation, I think I've decided on waiting on Legions of Nagash before buying anything Age of Sigmar. For my last AoS Project before I switch, I'll just be rebasing my Necromancers, my Skeletons, and converting this Bane Warrior into a Wight King with an Axe.

And than after that, I am going to finish off my Admech army once for all. One more box of Kastellans, and a unique HQ sculpt should be enough.

Pic relates is my Wight King so far.

So that way you keep buying shit you goy.

They are pretty much blizzard or league of legends now.

Everyone bought this champ cause it was OP when it came out. Now lets nerf it rinse and repeat.

Mark me down for fine/good for skeletons or grots or whatever, absolutely not for liberators or blightking style units.

There is only one rule when it comes to choosing a faction: models and lore above rules.
Rules are always shit, always have been shit and never will be balanced or good. People will never stop moaning about it and somebody is always feeling like the big evil corporate overlords have personally slighted them by not treating their special snowflake factions as favourites.
That's all bullshit. Cause every few months the rules change anyway.

The models stay. The lore get's fucked sometimes, but mostly stays the same.

So those should be your priorities.

If you want to get into a GW game mainly for the gaming you are doing it wrong anyway.

>The models stay.
Meanwhile half my model range is squatted thanks to no keywords

Hey, this guy gets it. So the hard part is picking allegiance to match what you like and deciding on something concrete.

Like that fyreslayer/dwarf guy, good example. Liked both models. Couldn't pick which ones he liked more. I don't think he ever fuckin decided on anything.

Don't be that guy.

It only affects the general now, aka it's shit.
Could you not have looked this up yourself?

>If you want to get into a GW game mainly for the gaming you are doing it wrong anyway
Let's be honest - there is no good way to get into GW games just for the gaming experience. I think the only way at all is to buy unpainted army with every new codex or edition to end up as a fuckin waacfag

Well shit! Last time I looked I swore it was different. Ah well, thanks.

He was too pure for this setting.

Anyone here own the Sigmarite Mausoleum/Garden of Morr kit? It seems to be a good way to make a small gaming-table but I heard mixed opinions about it

It was designed for WHFB when all you needed was 1 square to block a charge.
Its still ok for AoS as in it look cool. but because you are using pile-in and round bases, they aren't big enough to block an entire unit charge.

Stil buy it, its a great value

Why are all of GWs older models better for the most part?

There are exceptions but it seems like overall there is a downward trend in design.

Oh yeah, I want to buy it for sure but I heard the quality of this kit is quite mediocre. I remember that how terrible the piranha kit was and don't want to fuck with not well fitting parts again desu

First thing - it's subjective so the discussion is pointless
Second thing - most models will look good with a great paintjob

Many models may just be hastily put together to make number, while the more rigorous design process may be reserved for more important stuff like multipart plastic kits and the test model for the factio, and 40k, you can bet your ass the good sculptors and designers only work on 40k projects.

I love most of the old dwarf models and I really like the new dwarfs too. I just don't like running a whole army of space dwarfs or naked dwarfs. Their aesthetic is kinda garish in large amounts. Whereas normal dwarfs are nothing but palatable.

It's a result of them making battalions cost so much, and honestly I wish they'd simply gone in the other direction. I mean, fuck, just make battalions something far more uniform and make the fuckers free and let us wallow in the cancer of the last edition of 40k detachments. It would be so fucking easy to just make 1-2 battalions for each faction, or just 1 that's flexible in the number of units that comprise it.

Massive regiment discounts are just GW howling for shekels by expecting people to buy massive hordes. Just look at the fucking Corsairs. From 400 points for 40 to fucking 260 points.

It'd be decent for playing Vanguard or Frostgrave in. [spoiler[:^) lmao[/spoiler] But seriously, though, it's neat looking terrain and you can do pretty good shit with it. Combine it with some home-made ruins, and you've got a fantastic skirmish table.

Are khorgorath any good?

Some new stuff is good, some is shit.
Some old stuff is good, some is shit.

A true euphoric enlightened combines the best bits of new and old models. Pic related

More character and they weren't quite so addicted to stuffing in as much possible detail into every single inch of the models. CAD can help them make some really awesome models -- like the Arachnarok -- but it can also let them go mad with the ability to over-design every single part of their miniatures. Most of the new Nurgle models are great examples of that. They're so fucking busy that they just look gaudy when compared to older ones.

Also, not all of the old ones are better. Especially the really old ones, like the mounted Wight King or old school Nagash. The new one might be shitty as well, but so is the old one.

Fair enough.

I have yet to see an old character model that I completely hated however. Some have not aged well but they have a charm to them.

Even in 40k it is rather obvious. Primarus are really well made however.

Age of Sigmar is severely lacking giant centipedes.
I want my dorfs to do subterranean battle with centipedes.

Lads, I memed my friend into making a Dispossessed army. Is there any advice I can pass on to him now?

Where are you guys getting those HQ cover pictures??

They are awesome!

Ally in KO or slayers for mobility, otherwise dispossed are a fun army. Tell him dont play against WAAC fags and he will have fun
I play brayherds with warherd allies. I love em.

Irondrakes and Ironbreakers

Utilize them.

Also warmachines suck dick now use them sparingly.

>Primaris
Yeah, they're actually really solid, even if some of them are a little retardedly tacticool. But people had been hungry for truescale marines for a long time, so they fulfilled a niche that people really wanted. That's probably why they stand out so well as a great model line from modern time, is they were still designed with a modicum of restraint and they were something that people already kinda wanted. Unlike mustache-cannons, metal tophats, and balloon bois. Or fat monopose models with floppy flaccid tentacles.

>Liking WHFB art over AoS art
You have no taste sir.
How could you like those over this?

LOOK AT THE MASTERY OF THAT BOLTSOTRM PISTOL.
ARTISTIC P E R F E C T I O N

Tell him to buy a book to write everything GW does to piss him off in.
Make sure he buys at least one Runelord and a unit of Irondrakes.

u wot, nigga. Organ Gun x2 + Gunmaster is amazing.

Yes

Not really, they're not exactly a competitive army in the first place, so tell him to take what he wants. Irondrakes+Runelord+Ancestral Pickaxe is the bread and butter. Pepper in Longbeards and Warriors to taste. Hammerers and Longbeards are your specialists. One is and offensive beatstick and one JUST WON'T DIE. Thunderers are better than Quarrelers unless you take 30x, and at that point just take Irondrakes. Gyrocopters, Skywardens, and Vulkites are your best Allies.

I don't care about that shit arguments, I like both arts

What I mean is I never can find those pic in such a large resolution so please sauce or gtfo

>taking umgi in a dorf army.
It's like you don't even dorf.

>over designed.
how do you make things look cooler if the basic soldier is some hero in golden armor?

2 wound Saurus when?
>SCE heroes have 5 wounds
>Saurus heroes have 7
>SCE units have 2-3 wounds
>Saurus units have 1
Seraphon are in a good spot now anyway so I shouldn't really complain.

Then make it the dwarf engineer. All it does is make your warmachines more durable while requiring you spend an extra 20 points.

Umie can shoot his gun 32" and rerolls to hit. Dawi can repair junk. Both give rerolls to their respective machines tho. It's mostly for flavor.

Soon

You post this every thread like an autistic shit stain.

No one cares. That's why your army got deleted in the first place. Fuck off.

That's expressly my point, you shit-for-brains. I suggested running the cheaper one that gets a nice shooter-gun, and you or some other Dispossessed autist refused to run anything but a duardin. So I suggested the one that costs more but makes your warmachines more durable. Both are engineers which is the real reason you're bringing either one.

Tomb Kings are kinda cool keep posting user hope you get yours dudes back!

Why you gotta be so mean user :c

>tfw a full faction gets deleted from the game and a microfaction of 3 units and 2 heroes gets rewritten to fill their exact place in the fluff
lmao

I seem to remember people liking it.

Have the upped the price? I don't remember it costing £50 a while back.

>your not a soup playing WAAC fag so you are autistic

Ironic

>i hope you keep posting the same thing every day like you have a mental illness! Keep not contributing!

Keep posting it user.

Remember your grudge and keep your hate alive.

>Prioritizing flavor and narrative is autistic.
It must be really shallow playing just to win.

Multiple times a day desu

So how do Dwarfs even do on the table? Are they as bad as the memespouting sockpoops say they are?

Yeah, because there are two garden kits in a single box

Do you think that Greenskinz army would actually win against BCR in a 2000pts game at this point?

Obviously not. Maybe it was 2000 pts of Greenskinz versus 1000 pts of BCR.

Just bought the Mausoleum last week. Its a nice little kit. Got it mainly for malifaux skirmish but I've been trying to convince the local group to give AOS skirmish a try as well.

Sure it does, there was one warboss before, and there was the same one after.

The Paradox corrected itself.

Long time 40k player here. Anyone else quit 40k for Sigmar? I'm really disappointed in 8th so far.

What's the base size for a Cogsmith?

32mm

this is really awesome thanks!

any chance you could upload page 80?

skips from 79 to 81

Maggotkin of Nurgle battletome pdf fuckin where

You are actually a moron.

Sometimes it feels like the only purpose of this general is to bitch at every piece of news and nitpick everything. What's the point in it? It's just making yourself feel miserable surely?

Mine is to dwarfpost until people stop hating my faction. Which in turn makes them hate it.

Up.

How are seraphon right now? I was following them back when they got the generals handbook update. Now they can teleport all over the board and shit. What are good stratages other than skink swarms?

doing the good work user, thanks

Thanks, I thought he looked a bit cramped on 25.

I'm thinking about getting into AoS, probably going to go nurgle so I can use the deamon stuff in 40k too. Does a mix of mortals and deamons work or am I better off just picking up a SC deamons box?

Just as a rule put everything on 32s. They just look so much better.

>Stormcast are the best!!!

...

Play whatever you like. Models you think look cool. Make up your won fluff for your guys. Paint them however you like. Just have fun. The only way you might be better off with one thing over another is if you plan on playing ultra competitive.

So /aosg/, do your heroes have names and backstories?

Why does every khorne list I look at revolve around gore pilgrims?

Are Legion of Azgorh up to date? I don't wanna drop a load of cash on an army from last edition.

Yep. Skulltaker. He takes skulls. He's pretty much the best at it.

I'm a really defensive and new, and bad player so I didn't think that the teleports were going to help much since at first I only thought about turn 1 deep strikes. Then when playing I realized how broken 1-2 teleports every single turn can be. Combine that with Chameleon Skinks and you can be anywhere on the map and you can put so much pressure on the other player it's insane. You can easily get teleport charges off with a Stegadon, since he can give himself a free d6 move in the hero phase, so you essentially have a 3d6 charge, and since Stegadons do better on a charge you have yourself a giant assassin.
Did your Bastiladon get surrounded and somehow lost a few wounds? Teleport him away and shoot the hell out of them on the same turn since it doesn't count as fleeing combat.
Teleporting is fun.

For strategies, Seraphon have so many options.
Want low model count for your battleline, but they'll never die? Eternity Starhost will do that well. Until your Warden gets sniped or your Guard instantly die to mortal wounds.
Mass Skinks while also being able to deep strike a mass of Terradons 3" away from an enemy guaranteeing a free volley of mortal wounds and a turn 1 charge? Shadowstrike is great. If I had more Skinks and more Terradons I'd love to try this out, I heard it plays really well.
Just want to have a bunch of big monsters? Thunderquake is good, and with a Slann they heal d3 wounds per turn while also teleporting around, so good.
If you like Saurus then you can always just go Bloodclaw, I don't use Saurus Warriors, but I heard that they were really strong in units of 40.
If you want to save money you can just buy 4 SC boxes. 4 Canosaurs, 40 Saurus Warriors, and 30 Knights is 1960 points.
Kroak on a Vortex with an Astrolith Bearer is really strong, spamming d3 MW to every enemy unit each turn with only one spell is pretty ridiculous.
tl;dr you can really just pick which models you like most and work from there.

What's the role of Hammerers? They seem really nasty at 2 attacks 3+/3+/-1 but they don't seem all that survivable compared to Ironbreakers, who get 2 attacks at 3+/4+/0. Ironbreakers can reroll saves, ignore -1 rend, and can even cause mortals if you take the pistol/bomb on your captain.

The models are really cool though.

Also what's the merit of Ironbreakers vs. Warriors? For nearly the same price you get 20 warriors with the same weapon. 4+ save over 5+. I guess their re-roll wound rolls of 1 is good, but it's not like you're not making your King your general anyway? I don't understand.

Well they're dispossessed battleline for one . . .

Hammerers are literally your hammer in the hammer/anvil strategy.

having a hard time with this

the one on the left seems the obvious choice but it looks... weak. the batallions are cripplingly expensive.

the one on the right looks fun, trees everywhere, blightkings showing up anywhere. But it doesnt feel very strong either.

where is the power of maggotkin hiding?

Hate to point this out but age of sigmar and 8th edition have a lot in common. Closest 40k and fantasy have ever been to being similar.
I like 8th edition though, think its fun. AoS looks great
