Warmahordes doesn't have events as large as 40k events or as many. Also I don't enjoy Warmahordes, especially in Mk3.

Why? I like to play the game, I like travelling with my friends, we really enjoy going to events.

40k is a shitty game for competition. Would play 40k without the models? If there were a game that was mechanically identical to 40k but used markers, or tokens, or square pieces, instead of the models would you give even one quarter of a fuck?

Of course not, that's a part of the hobby. However that doesn't change the fact that I personally enjoy going out to tournaments and that's the main scope of how I engage in the hobby. I don't tell other people to play the way I do but I like going out to tournaments (especially large tournaments) and playing 40k.

But I do like to model and paint - I spend my time building models, converting them, and painting them to get them ready for the event. I just direct my building and painting towards lists that are 'strong' as it were in tournament scenes.

I'm an avid fan of Black Library and I read all the codexes as well. I have stories for my armies, I name my characters, all those things. I just do that in the venue of tournament play rather than the more casual FLG stuff. I don't try to force other people to play the way I do - I have my group and we play how we like. I don't see how any of that is a problem or not 'the hobby'.

If you want to enjoy comp, then you have to master the way of soup

It's another turn of fighting. But if he charged he still counts as charging and so the second round will go before non-chargers. You can go before their second round via the universal stratagem or stuff like Slaanesh Daemons. But not normally.

For Beserkers they can Fight twice in the Fight phase so if he charged all chargers go first so unless you interrupt he fights twice before you.

One time, single unit deep strike that costs command points is not at all comparable to nearly every unit inherently being able to deep strike. When I play my GK I'm often struggling to find enough units to deploy on the board at the start to fit that only half of your units can deep strike thing, don't see Custodes being able to do that.

Another start collecting box is always a good idea for tau and if you really like suits that battleforce is amazing otherwise I'd personally suggest a few teams of stealth suits as they are way better this edition and give you some more tactical board control
