Question: So, they're called Races, does that mean that technically all the fantasy creatures are the same species but different races?

Do you actually care or is this simply your new /pol/ racism bait?

Seriously, do you care?

That would be an ecumenical matter

It would certainly help to explain all the half-breeds that pop up.

No.
Race is just a convenient colloquial term that extends to other, various, sapient species. You can't hold the term 'Race' to the same standard in a world with over 12 civilization building species vs our own where only one species -Humans- has done anything of substance.

It's the same deal as how cannibalism is often expanded upon to describe any sort of sapient person that eats other 'people' and not just restricted to species.

I do actually. In antiquity Greek philosophers contributed 'race' to a matter of climate, that different temperatures and topographies changed the attributed for humans. Basically they assigned everyone their own stats, Greeks get +to Cha, Egyptians get +to Int, Celts get +Con, that sort of thing.
So like in fantasy terms, are the different races like the 'races' from antiquity where they're all the same species but different environmental factors, Including magic, have made them change?

No, they aren't. This

You have autism

no, it means they all have cars and try to be faster than each other

Biologically if members of different races can breed and produce fertile offspring (which is usually the case) they're considered the same species. So yeah.
