Is there some kind of server issue going on? Can't post images

>Is there some kind of server issue going on? Can't post images
Yeah, there's something sideways going on. I was able to make us a new thread and load up just the OP image by switching to a new browser that I never use, but every image post since then has given me an error.
It can't be everyone everywhere, though - there's a new OSR thread () that has pictures in it after the OP.
Brayden Williams
>OSR thread
... then I go and look at the dates on those other picture posts, and they're from two days ago. OK, it's just plain broken then, I guess.
Jaxson Scott
alright /wip/ get off Veeky Forums and go paint something to show off when you get back.
i want it looking NICE
Dylan Morgan
I'm mediocre though.
Elijah Williams
But i've just finished my World Eaters! I want some opinions on what to do next

Can I use brush-on primer with an airbrush, so I can spray prime larger models? If so, how much should I thin it first?
Carter Lewis
Vallejo "brush on" primer is actually for airbrushes. The bottles I have, at least, dont specifically mention brushing it on at all.
Ryan Gray
B-but I'm at work...
Jayden Reyes
That stuff works like a dream, though. I need to get it on black next time, the white streaks like a motherfucker.
Hudson Cox
Oh for sure, I only meant that it works with no trouble in an airbrush as well. The white (and the grey) apply patchy when you brush it on, but I've found I only need the one coat to provide a good base for the other paints
Ryan Rodriguez
I've only ever made good looking gunpla. I like browsing this thread, but have nothing to show, sorry
Mason Moore
>Finally get several days free to paint >Break wrist at the gym the night before Just kill me /wip/

>tfw never broken a bone >overdue for one worry

>alright /wip/ >get off Veeky Forums and go paint something to show off when you get back.
Yes boss. This is a good chance to get some shit done.
Lincoln Williams
Apply nurgle rot/blood for the blood god after sealing models, yes? Or else they'd lose their shine?
Juan Price
yes
Parker Price
Something happened with my pot of Blood for the Blood God. It was sealed tightly, but I opened it the other day when I noticed it was unusually dark and found out it had congealed and turned dark purple. Did it spoil or something?
Ryder Adams
yes

Jaxon Fisher
I just picked up a Dark Imperium and am working on my Box Walkers first since I don't know what color scheme I want to paint my Plague Marines in. Sort of following that guide posted a couple threads ago for Plague Bearers. I like how colorful they're turning out.
Jaxson Walker
test post, does this go through? Or has Jackie Veeky Forums broken the site?
Wyatt Garcia
I have been able to post on Veeky Forums but I'm getting connection errors on other boards, even though other posters are still posting in the threads I'm trying to post in.
Ryder Reyes

Eli Garcia
I have been able to post on Veeky Forums but I'm getting connection errors... huh, deja-vu
Grayson Harris
Veeky Forums is temporarily a text board except for OP images.
Do people actually make full time careers as model painters? I imagine the majority of people how intend to do so most likely stick to doing individual commissions... Do any of you really talented folk have experience in this as a career?
Lincoln Ramirez
Do people actually make a full time career out of painting models? I imagine doing commissions now and again would be a lot easier. Does anyone here have any experience in either? I wouldn’t be surprised as many of you folk are very talented
Jack Morgan
You have to be Golden Demon-tier to demand high enough commissions to support yourself. If you can paint at that level, there is a market for superbly painted models. Anything short of that and you're better off working a normal job. Plus, if you make your hobby your job you will probably grow to hate it. I've painted a handful of models for people at the FLGS but I just do it to a bit above tabletop standard plus a really cool base in exchange for a meal.
Isaac Cox
Images are working again folks.
Aaron Davis
Smile everyone, pics are back. Also, here's the start of my deathguard. Still not sure what color scheme I'm going to paint the marines and everything else.
James Garcia
Things I learnt with this marinelet: I dont know how to write with a brush I hate metal models Try to not lose pieces (skull/banner thing on top) Eyebrows were a mistake.
Anyother fuckup I should be aware of?
Kayden Rodriguez
At first glance I thought someone had doodled "DORK" on his shield.
Looks alright, I'd like a little more shading in the space between the armor and the head. Also some white in his eyes.
Carter Walker
Restarted my Abaddon/Archaon hybrid Termie Lord. I'll be using it as a counts-as Abaddon since his model is a relic.
I need WiPwisdom on painting the Black Legion colour scheme, since apparently black and gold are the hardest colours to do right, alongside white. He'll also have a crimson loincloth and cloak, but that seems easy enough to do.
Help me Obi-WiP-Kenobi.
Christian Moore
honestly not trying to be a cunt here, but when i was roughly 16 years old and the new chaos space amrine terminator box came out i did your exact idea except i used abbaddons actual sword/power claw/head. It looked better in the sense that oyu could tell it was Abaddon. yours doesn't really seperate itself from a chaos termie lord. if that makes sense.
again, not trying to offend, I just know if I did the same, it'd be eating away at the back of my mind at how a just-as-simple conversion/kitbash would have had a much better result.
They even have the Forgeworld Abaddon now (albeit expensive as shit) But I think that model + relicGWAbaddon pieces would look awesome and a lot more creative than what you've got so far.
Camden Morris
Decided to finish up my Inceptor Sergeant finally to finish off the squad. However after seeing it took me almost 3hrs to get this far, I can't help but feel I am putting too much effort just in troop minis. I like the look and all, but I'm wondering if I should just do edge highlights for these guys so I can get more done.
Brody Turner
Some dfc I'm working on, any opinions on the base colors for them would be appreciated. Also and advice on how to remove Vallejo liquid mask without ruining the under coat would be nice to have too!
Jace Thompson
Please write DORK on your shield instead. That would be wonderful.
Owen Wright
i can finally post this boy
Parker Howard
Are we back on?
Anyways are you partaking in the malign portents? If yes post progress.
Also here are some angry pigs I'm working on.
Asher Harris
For a horrible moment I thought those necks were the orcs faces and you'd just slathered them in paint so bad the detail was gone
Carter Martin
I'm guessing there's a program/website that enables you to take pictures and turn them into those dots pictures.
Nathan Cox
Looks pretty good, but what is up with those flour-di-lecce?
Camden Robinson
I need a heat gun WIP are they all the same or is there some brands that are a definite no like with air brushes?
Nicholas Gutierrez
Had to rush it for a little contest in town before I left for vacation and I see a lot that I need to fix up when I get back home
Christian Carter
damn I love the poxwalkers. I have the easy-to-build kit, but seems I'll have to get the datk imperium ones too.
your painring is superb btw. Were you going for a limited palette/blanchitsy sorta thing, or is it just lotsa washes?
Anthony Anderson
Love most of this. However the faces of the pigs need some more highlighting imo. The washes have left them dirty -- which is good for a huge boar thingy, yet not really the right kind of dirty. Dunno how I'd fix it myself, but it just irks a tad.
Tyler Stewart

Owen Bennett
Dont tell me what to do with my taint user this is a blue board
Parker Richardson
2nd for this. Get a hold of the old metal Abbadon, use the head/arms/trophy racks.
Austin Cooper
Been working on this dude.

Almost done with a Mechanicus Leman Russ

While I appreciate the responses, I asked for help painting black and gold.
I originally did meld the Abaddon kit and a Termie Lord, and the result was a shitty, lopsided mess with fucked proportions. Ergo, I've opted to make a counts-as Abaddon with Archaon vibes. Something that doesn't look like it has s cosplay prop for a sword.
No offense intended.
Sebastian Brown
Thats pretty sloppy, I hope it wasnt a painting comp. Its okay tho, learn how to thin paints and do multiple thin layers, be more patient while painting.
Now just give him a superclean bath and start over.
Ethan Rodriguez
Tried to follow the way the cloth deforms. Also had little black paint and I am a shit freehand painter.
Lincoln Morgan
fleur de lys
Brayden Clark
I usually basecoat pure black, then highlight roughly 50% of the surface with P3 Coal Black, then 50% of that area with Coal Black + a little bit of P3 Frostbite, and then 50% with a little bit more Frostbite in the mix.
Some people say "Only use pure black in the recesses!", but that is bullshit unless you paint very well.
As for gold, the easiest is to take a gold paint (Retributor Armour, Auric Armour, P3 Rhulic Gold, whatever you have), put Agrax Earthshade or Seraphim Sepia on it and then highlight it with your gold mixed with a bright silver.
Blake Martin
I only had a couple days and felt pretty bad about how it looked but if I didnt turn it in it wouldn't be in at all
Zachary Hall
Planning to scratch build ork vehicles, I'm at a loss at what to use to make treads. Any suggestions?
Easton Price
Guys, I was aiming for pre heresy Alpha Legion but something is amiss. Ideas, advice, tips? Non metallic AL schemes examples welcome.
Bentley Sullivan
perhaps a little too bright? That's almost as bright as the SoH jade green, you may want to add a little more blue to your paint to darken it slightly.
Eli Jones
Haven’t painted in a while, keep getting brush marks and cracks in paint. What’s up?
Xavier Cruz
Ha! That's awesome.
Jason Cook
Something seems fishy about these guardsmen
Jackson Richardson

Juan Butler
Should I add some green somewhere?
Jason Scott
Hey /wip/, decided to do a shitty snakebite weirdboy conversion as a way to practice using greenstuff. As a first attempt, I'd say it look alright but I can't help but feel that something is missing from the staff. Any idea what I should add?
Elijah Wilson
Built his brother
Owen Parker
noice
Use catachan rules for them.
Caleb Clark
Sounds like the paint may have expired or you're not thinning them enough.
Jaxson Morales
What do you mean? Those are perfectly normal human beings.
Nathaniel Cook
probably, need to find a nice balance. I think the studio scheme uses green in the recesses for 40k AL.
Jose Ross
I only see fine citizens of the Imperium here, nothing to see, carry on carry on.
Wyatt Ross
I'll say it again I think those spikes/studs on the red panels (like on the forearms) should be metal. It would really help break up the surfaces. Having them red looks unfinished
Joseph Davis
Hey /wip/! I'm still fairly new new to painting and I was wondering if I do the final highlight of silver on the edge of the shield wing panels, Like I did already or if there's a better method or paints I can use. (IRL it's a bit more brownish than in the photo but quite close actually) I accidently used to much glue when gluing the middle part and it spilled over the edges, not going to make that mistake again
Ian Brown
Only do a bit where you think there would be substantial wear.
Christopher Russell
I was thinking more in a layer that gives a greenish shine here and there, but I dont know how to do it
Gavin Gutierrez
Loot em? You can also make individual tracks, with plasticard.
Camden Richardson
Alright Ill try this
Benjamin Howard
glazing is the technique you're looking for.
Jason Ramirez
Post pics!
Xavier Garcia
I finished this guy, the leader for my nighthaunt army, I wanna write a backstory and truely make them my guys
Gavin Smith
Those hands look waaaay too healthy and normal for a necromancer
Nicholas Wright
ehh your right, should I try lighten them up to a white or go for another colour?
Daniel Hughes
I'd lighten them to look more palid / sick with a stark contrast applying a good wash on the recesses. If you are a pro painter (I am not) you could even risk a few red/violet looking thin veins. Some anons in these threads could pull that off but it sounds crazy hard to me (although not different from lighting in power swords).
Elijah Taylor
Finally done the Spooki boiz.
Even though they were just ment to be a break from my sister's army they were so stress free and fun to paint I can could see an army being pretty joyous to do.
Really put the passion back into painting.
Isaiah Brooks
Im nowhere near good enough to do those kind of details yet, hows this?
Wyatt Morgan
Looks good user, think the smoke should be coming out the other way though. So it's at the front of the model.
