Also, What's the best Old-school Run for a new party? I want to run a pre-made from the Pre-2.0 days. Are there any you guys have a particular fondness for? Something you all remember as having fun with?

FOOD FIGHT

Food Fight.

I recently came to the end of that Manga. It was really good. It angers me to no end that it probably won’t be updated in months, if at all.

what manga?

>What gangs have you dealt with?
My runners keep dressing up as Halloweeners during runs to draw any heat off of themselves. I haven't decided if this means the Halloweeners love them or hate them.

Depends on how much flamethrowers they are using.

I'm pondering about getting some of the Halloweener Gear from the latest enhanced Fiction book (Flamethrower, molotov Cocktails), but my nickname is already "Joker" and i'm not sure if this might make it worse.
Me wanting to take a can of gasoline with us when breaking into a hotel room to snatch some guy wasn't an idea that was well liked.

Rokudou no Onna-tachi
Pathetic wimp gets the power to slay demons because of a mark on his forehead.
Unfortunately, demons are extinct, so instead the mark makes any "bad girl" fall for him, that is, basically he's irresistible to Criminals, Punks, and killers.
They don't let up on how pathetic he is either, and he gets a decent character arc. Along the way he manages to get the attention of OP's pic, who is firstgirl and Bestgirl, an indestructible loli, a Biker PoliceGrill, a Reverse Trap(and death threats from her Vanilla Trap brother), and is constantly beat up for shits and giggles.
It's basically the "Trope Reversal" where they recognize that Harem MC's are spineless bastards, and Harem girls are all bitches, and have fun with that.

Scatterbrains have been a fun encounter. We have been hired to take out their leader Giggles, a troll with more voices in his head than the Wu-Tang-Clan. Their whole base of operations was basically a huge old warehouse called "The Funhouse" filled with all kinds of deadly funfair attractions, revolving barrel above spikes, compressed air jets loaded with toxic gas, ball pit full of granades. You know classics. But the best thing was of course, the final shootout in the mirror cabinet.

Oh, and the whole time our GM played this song in a loop: youtu.be/fv4kp4ZnSuE

... wouldn't it be safer just to burn the whole place down and establish killzones on every exit?

See the problem is they weren't thinking like pyros

what's the most hat's a character should wear? Can an infiltrator also be the weapon specialist and face? What are complimentary roles, like decker and rigger or infiltrator and hacker?

There's a 3e book called First Run that's Food Fight 3e and a couple other babby's first run adventures. Never seen the other ones mentioned, though.

It crossed our mind but decided that would be the non-fun way to do it. It's called "The Funhouse", you just have to check this out. We are really GM-friendly players, because we are also all GMs to a certain degree and just know when to follow a hook.

If you have roles that compliment each other, probably 3-4.

Infiltrator and gunbunny go hand-in-hand anyways. Since you are probably already using Cyber and have decent REA, you can add a level one Rigger Headware and be a pretty good driver.
Get tailored Pheromones 3 + a suit and you can also be a good face with a monetary investment that is doable during gameplay.

Rigger is absolutely not a complementary role, since it requires a fuckton of skills and nuyen. Same goes for Decker.

You can slap combat-capabilities onto a decker/rigger with an Arm of god, but the other way round is difficult, due to drones and Decks costing a fuckton of nuyen. IF you are able to scrounge a Deck for free during gameplay, you could make do with Skillwires and such, but thats about it.

Also keep in mind that there is a big difference in whether you want to be able to do 2-3 (or more) things at chargen or later during gameplay.
Doing more than two things during chargen works, but its usually a big tradeoff where you are cutting yourself short in many areas. Better go for two roles during chargen and lay the foundations for a third. Eg take what you need to be good at shooting and sneaking during chargen, then grab the Control Rig during gameplay.

At the moment i'm one of the teams designated combat guys, but also handle:
-explosives (11 Dice)
-mundane healing (17 Dice)
-driving (13 Dice)
-negotiating with Johnsons (10 Dice, yeah, thats sad, but the rest sucks even more in this area so i basically always spend a point on edge on this).

as secondary/tertiary fields.

We have a designated Infiltrator, so no investment in this area needed, but in theory, i COULD also go there because its fucking easy with 8 Agility.

I could also increase the negotiations capabilities a lot more, but i don't have enough essence left for both Pheromones 3 AND a pain-editor and going lower than level 3 is not worth it.

Mind you, I'm about 45 Karma in, but as you see, branching out is doable.

I really enjoyed adapting the shit from the Tir na Nog book, does that count? We had a team of runners who were all secretly returned good irish lads out to destabilize the government. They didn't, but they liked to pretend they did.

And Harlequin. that was actually a really neat adventure.

DEMON IN A BOTTTLLLEE.

I've always wondered why there wasn't a crew of metahuman magicians with spells like "Kenneth Brackhaven form".

As a GM, I find just following the hook to be the least-fun thing my players can do. I get that it's frustrating when you don't get to use something you planned, but I love when players think of something I didn't.

Of course, if they try to cheese encounters, I try to just slap them with a wild card.
>Oh, you want to burn down The Funhouse, do you? Well enjoy of horde of nuclear spirits bursting out of the flames, bitches! Hope you brought APDS!

Do background counts affect summoned/bound spirits in any way?

In fluff, yes. Background counts hurt spirits to varying degrees if they are not aligned with the type of background count, the pain ranges from mild annoyance to screaming agony.
They flat out refuse to manifest in mana voids, since doing so would kill them.
When you consider that damned near everywhere has a background count between 1-3 this goes some way to explain why spirits are often pissed.
Mechanically? Spirits suffer from background count penalties to everything magic-related. Since everything they do is magic-related this is one of the key factors that limits the power of summoners. Unfortunately most GM's don't bother with background counts since it adds every more stuff to keep track of, and consequently spirits are overpowered as hell.

>Rokudou no Onna-tachi

My nigga. It started out fairly weak and when I went in I expected UGUU-Harem-shit but its solid gold. Just like Jojo or Medaka Box it goes full retard whenever the Rule of Cool is invoked and its fucking amazing. I enjoy this series so much.

Just finished corpsins, any other shadowrun games to listen to?

tl;dr: they take a negative modifiers equal to the background count's strength to all actions unless they are aligned to it.

So, how would I go about building an Aswang?
If I want to use the form that likes to slurp unborn babies, is able to shape-shift into animals and appears to be a normal human during the day?

Would I start off by making it akin to a HMHVV infected? Or more like a metasapient critter?

Bit more information please, what source are they from, are they demons/spirits/ghosts/mutants ?

That's the thing with the bisected body and the tongue, right? I think those are already statted, somewhere in street grimoire.

What is the right amount of BP for street level campaign in SR4E?

350, max 30 to equipment, right?

They're from filipino folklore, and from what I've read about it, they seem to be close to ghouls during the night, but the rest doesn't seem like typical infected behavior.

Kinda. It's apparently a broad term referring to different kinds of creatures, one being able to shapeshift into animals, one being able to detach its upper body and grow wings to fly around, from what I've read.

Couldn't find anything in the books tho.

Manananggal, Street Grimoire pg. 100.

Different name, that explains why I couldn't find anything.
Seems to be the same thing tho, so thanks a lot!

i haven't watched corpsins but i really like the neoscum podcast

I rolled a big titty elf, unaware another player did so as well. They felt awkward about it and changed out to somethi g else but now I feel bad because mine has a half baked personality while they rip roar through every session as the flamboyant face. My girl is a nerdy rigger.

You want a hook? God, do I have a hook for you.

Nope, someone in the group already has a vehicle spirit waifu.

Easy. There's some drama. Your character has it in for that vehicle. Not the spirit. Just the car.

Plot twist: Vehicle spirit has the hots for the twinky Dodge Scoot which inhabited by a neurotic AI.
Can the team survive such a high-octane love-triangle? Tune in to next weeks episode of Third Wheel.

God. That game set in LA, with a trollish straight man, would be amazing.

Damnit, Shadowrun. Big D approves.

How the fuck do you even apply mascara to a dragon? Do you use a paint roller or something?

With a really big brush.

The dragon just uses magic to disguise itself as 'itself but wearing swaggin makeup'.

...

How would you represent Puppy in Shadowrun?

Seems like a pretty broken street samurai with off-site decking support possible AI?
Also lesser gang-related connections.

typical Edgelord build with a Cyberspine and Arm of God

How do you do an energy shield in SR?

Say what you want about SR missions, but sometimes the art is spot on.

If hideous.

Can someone explain lodges to me? I read the entry and watched the complex action video which claimed that you get a dice pool bonus to magical actions based on your lodge's force.

Is this true? Seems insanely powerful and would allow mages to summon and bind very powerful spirits.

Magic. Physical Barrier spell, either via being a mage or Adept Spell. As far as I know there's no technological equivalent.

Uh. Where are you getting the 'dice pool bonus"?

It's a requirement for a ritual, sure. But I can't see anything about a dice pool bonus from your lodge.

A lodge is a foundation for ritual magic purposes. It is also a permenent mana barrier on both planes. It has your astral signature. No dicepool bonuses, no physical barriers.

youtu.be/Unvg-IjesyM?t=2m45s
My bad, I'm an idiot, I rewatched it and it says you just get to add the rating to your limit to tests associated.

Well he has a cyberarm too to be exact.

And all the chrome that gives him his other ingame abilities you can unlock as you level up.

I can't even see the bit about a limit.
>arm of god

Probably bullshit then?

It might have been errata'd, but I don't think so.

For some reason I read it as Hand of God which was weird.

I'm stumped, how do people keep claiming the ability to summon a very high force spirit early on? Edge can only do so much and summoning foci is ridiculously expensive.

The ork looks like he's about to just smash the glass in his hand for dramatic effect

I think it's meant to be "i'm too uncultured to know how to hold a wineglass", but a broken cup would serve as a nice distraction from how he's pocketing the silverware.

Bacause you only roll against the Spirit's Force when summoning?

>An entire group without face.
Disgusting

Blonde elf seems like a face.

That's the Johnson. She's supposed to be the naughty secretary type who'll fuck literally anyone, runners included, to get a better deal.

The art turns her into.. that.

I don't think anyone looks high enough to notice her face.

Just because she's an elf doesn't mean the needs to be a face chummer, don't be a racist.

Yeah, the face is clearly the other elf, in that he's the only one who looks vaguely human. Or white.

>gorgeous and intelligent

I want to sniff her asshole and rim her for days while she calls me a filthy dirty boy.

Those tits are barely enough to get my attention.

And more seriously as a Runner anything that is remotely Corporate looking is a boner-killer out of sheer self-preservation.

But thats nasty.

50 nuyen says there's an ARES tramp-stamp on the back.

More accurately, natural selection weeds out runners that get aroused and enticed by people sporting the corporate look.

More like nano engraved into every part of her. damien knight probably got one look at the plans and popped a hard on that hasn't gone down yet.

So are you saying you wouldn't?

What would be a good name for a knowledge skill for someone who's spent their life walking on foot around the sixth world? I was just going to go with 'travel' but 'nomadism' seems weird.

I wouldn't, im more of a traditionalist.

Hitchhiking.

I like keeping my boner attached to my body, chummer.

You're missing out amigo, elf assholes are a fine delicacy.

Walking. On foot. As in "cars are of the devil!".

>Implying she wouldn't put your pathetic dicklet in a cage
>Implying the honor of being allowed to taste the goddess isn't honor enough.

Nomadism?

Knowledge:Amish
Knowledge:Luddite

Knowledge: vagabond?
Knowledge: homelessness?
Knowledge: [country]?

Being a bum with mental issues

Sarah Silverleaf is my only and true love

She is literally my mrs Johnson goddess

My entire existence is for serving her

My tiny dicklet is shameful and useless, im not a man for her, so it should be locked up permanently in a tiny chastity cage so it shrinks down in size even more by time, and i cant get nor an erection or any penis orinated stimulation ever again in my entire pathetic life

I will do anything Sarah Silverleaf asks me

Literally anything

I dont deserve to be her personal toilet, but she is a nice caring goddess so she will let me rim her pucker if i serve her like a good ass-slave

She is a futanari as well so i can lick and worship her pussy, asshole and gigantic monster horsecock as well for the rest of my life

Shadowland BBS >>> Jackpoint

Yeah, I'm going with my first instinct and just labelling it as 'nomadism' as a catch all knowledge skill for being a rambo style hobo.

Without the mind bogglingly rambo kill count and abilities.

So, you going with her being born with one leg and just passing off this mysterious dick you're talking about as a second leg or something?

A Goddess can summon their meatlog at will.

How about the binding shenanigans though?

what's with them?

Its spirit force x2 so I assume its much much harder.

You don't need to bind a spirit to have it go fuck shit up in an emergency.

Stupid bimbo is shit taste.
4/10 would bang but would't have any emotional investment.

Didn't you read the description? She's a genius as well as hot. Ten quid says she's either the writer's old character or their waifu.

You're forgetting an option.
Just shitty writing.

But user, it's not shitty writing to make a mary sue dmpc out of your waifu. It's just the dm's creative license!

You're right. It's not singularly worse than the Missions baseline.
