Trog Edition
When was the last time your runner had to deal with a fragging breeder/keeb/stuntie?

Your character, for whatever reason, is forced out of his home and now needs to live out of a vehicle (RV, camper, blimp, zeppelin, houseboat, etc)
>What vehicle does your character get and why? How happy are they with that arrangement?
>What would their dream mobile dwelling be if they could buy/steal it?

Probably just his Westwind.
Dream would be a zeppelin.

>What vehicle do they get
That big fraggin off road RV in SAG. The escape I think its called.

Fucking nothing. Already lives outside. He's basically a neo-primitive that abuses the fashion spell to get clean clothes, while washing himself in cheap soy vodka.

Ultramarine kingfisher with additional legs.
Basically a walking tank and nobody goes looking for a 15 meters long ship on land.

"Hey, bob. That look like a boat parked in the middle of the street to you?"
"Nah. Probably just grid guide being strange again. Let's ignore it."

Unrelated, but:

To whoever recommended Grand Blue last thread.

Thank you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

YOU ARE WELCOME.

Time to learn this game and run my boys through it

I want to say the same as user, I have a new light in my live.
Thank you.

>Your character, for whatever reason, is forced out of his home and now needs to live out of a vehicle (RV, camper, blimp, zeppelin, houseboat, etc)
>what do they get
My pixie rigger lived out of a RV and she loved it. A RV can dwarf a mansion if you're the size of a barbie doll.
>what was her dream mobile dwelling
An aircraft carrier with all the crew replaced by drones. (The planes are also drones.)
Oh, and there'd be a few drone crewed destroyers around in case any torpedo boats happened to get ideas.

It took me like two weeks to finally get my character's stats alone ready, can someone help me with gear please? Namely what mods I should get on my machine pistosl and armor jacket.
I have a TMP which I plan for suppressing people and a crusader for burst firing people.

post your Char Sheet

Don't bother modding your jacket unless you've got nothing else - if so, go with nonconductivity.

Smartlinks/laser sights are always good, as are personalised grips.

How do I make a truly unhittable character? Is there a way to get defense pools in the same league as soak pools?

Sure. You just need to be a grade 20 bioadept. You want genetic optimization - reaction, exceptional attribute - reaction, maybe changeling too. Take powers to max your reaction at 12/13. Karma to get your intuition to 6/7, augs depending. Now just take combat sense up to 20 and you're rolling 40 dice. Et voila!

Yes and no. Max your agility, get the Agile Defender quality and go on full defense every turn. That should give you a quite comfortable defense pool, and you'll dodge a lot.

Unhittabe on the other hand? Each successive roll reduces your dodge by one, burst fire is a thing and let's not start about explosives. Your best bet is to have a balance between dodge and soak.

On that note, starting a game in about a week, my mostly human bio street sam has 8 reaction, 6 intuition and 7 agility off of agile defender. With 26 dmg resistance and 12/11 condition track. Think he'll manage? Idea is to full defend most combats with his 14+3d6 initiative and riposting any melee enemies.

Try to get your soak up to around 30 and you should outlast pretty much anything. You might end fights roughed up, but you'll take the opposition out before they get you.

speaking of ships, whats the naval situation like in shadowrun? Are their maritime mages that make phanlax fire more accurate?

>speaking of ships, whats the naval situation like in shadowrun?
Hell if I know. I assume it's like IRL. Mages actually wouldn't be much use on a ship cuz their main limitation is line of sight, which means that when it comes to naval combat, they're useless even if you give them vision enhancement because of the whole curvature of the earth thing.

How powerful is protection and stealth magic?

any idea how to do that a squishy human? I've got armor jacket w/gel packs, forearm guards, ballistic mask, 5 body, aluminum bone lacing. Only other thing I see in 12 avail is murder armor giving 13 armor which is one higher, and I don't want to get a shield

>How powerful is protection and stealth magic?
Not that powerful I don't think.

Any cyberware you could slap some extra armor on?

Not very powerfull against Mechanical sensors, that's why you should alway bring a tricked out electric vision device, since spells need to beat object resistance.
With a monocle it needs to beat both your own resistance as well as object resistance in theory.

But then again, any large battleship could prolly have on real mage and several awakened to pull of some huge stealth ritual, but that won't be standard for all ships.

Cut off limbs and put armor in them, feed/hands would already work.

double elastine genemod and p.factory bioware.
Also get the saviour medikit, since it heals you within 5 minutes and you don't need to hold still.

Why are the armour rules so retarded? A nartraki can have more soak than a human since it'll have more arms to repalace with ware. Never mind that it also has more locations to be hit, MOAR CYBERARMS!

Who designed this shit?

This kind of bug is why they're so skittish about allowing more limbs than usual.

Could't a nartaki also surge again to get MOAR ARMS ?

Might get the saviour medikit because that seems useful, but I'm keeping my guy mostly non-cybernetic for flavor, plus my gm is a fan of flashly/dramatic attacks when expecially when downed, so dismemberment is very likely for my character in which I'll then replace the limbs if I lose them. I'm content at 26 soak for now

Thank you, friend anons. I will place it in the box

Got a player that wants to stick a small amount of explosives into his tooth compartment as a last resort to throw? Any idea on how I should implement this?

Refluff a cyberfinger grenade

WTF you are retarded

DON'T PULL THIS EVIL INTO THIS THREAD

Didn't have my sheet at work and was expecting some basic advice, more in depth armor/weapon advice would be great if you're willing to spend the time, don't worry too much about money, if it comes to it then I'll just take debt or buy it later.

Amateur hour chummers, please be gentle.

>2edg
I hope you know what you're doing.

Unless you want to play somebody socially handicapped, put a point into etiquette
Get at least a rating 2 SIN, because otherwise you will just drag your team down with something easily avoidable.
Get a commlink and one of those mini walkie talkies.

Medicine Skill and Knowledge Medicine seems kinda redunant, talk with you GM about it.

Personal Taste: Chaos Magi tradition can become bland rather quickly and you tradition is one of the most fun things to RP as a mage.

Otherwise 8/10, my russian elf cyberpunk would like him and is mechanically sound.

Admittedly I'm gaming the system a bit by not spending on Edge at chargen because boosting it later is instantaneous while specs and qualities take a while.

Thanks for the advice, lots of things I didnt list there like his R6 medkit, ammo and survival kit. Totally forgot about the SINs and fake licenses though.

Initiate grade 20? I don't think that'll ever happen.

Thank you.

>You just need to be a grade 20 bioadept
>only 21+ initiate grades
That's over 900+ karma and multiple years of initiating for the grades alone. The costs for magic are going to be likewise astronomical.

It's like, you're going to be one of the most powerful adepts in the setting (if not *the* most) and are blowing roughly a quarter of your PP on your ability to avoid bullets.

Though I would be amused see a grade 20 adept centering. He'd basically never take penalties for physical actions ever. He could headshot people (-4) while blindfolded from across the city (-10), while in melee combat (-3) and he'd still be exactly as accurate as if he was chilling on the range during a clear sunny day.

Yeah... Is there a more realistic way to be a dodgemaster?

Thermal smoke grenades and sonar augmentation,
Don't need to dodge what doesn't hit you.

>If a character has an augmentation that increases their Initiative or grants any Initiative Dice, synaptic acceleration has no effect, and they do not regain Essence lost for taking the treatment.
Just for clarification: Does 'augmentation' in the description of things like Synaptic Acceleration and Boosted Reflexes refer just to cyberware/bioware, or are they incompatible with initiative-enhancing drugs too?

Adept is the usual way to go for dodging; high reaction and intuition with ranks in combat sense. When needed, use full defense with one of the traits in RG. You'll be plenty dodgy with a defense pool in the high teens.

You don't need 40 dice in defense as a shadowrunner. You'll already be causing your GM headaches somewhere around 18-20 dice. Put in much more than that and you're basically begging for him start pulling out his nuclear options like stunbolts and grenades.

Yes, being dead.

Full auto doesn't need to have a target, just spray the general area and they'll have to make a dodge test.

GM decides, essentially. I rule that only the highest modifier applies, to make juice a valid way to play the game instead of capping the initiative of minmaxed combat monsters.

Aye, that sounds fair. I was just wondering since I was going for a drug/Narco sammy and the spare cash from not having to buy initiative-dice 'ware' had me thinking, y'know?

Thanks for the answer user!

human adept/street sam with high reaction + intuition + agile defender and high gymnastics. Also high edge so you can reroll the times you fuck up

The generally accepted convention is that augmentation == cyber or bioware.

I think you mean acrobatic defender.

Adepts can get a higher gymnastics score, as well as extra dodge dice from combat sense.

Yeah, because everyone knows bioadepts need buffing.

Mys-Ad with an INT tradition and Combat sense and a focus on reaction can get you far. Toss on ways to add penalty to your foes like glare/lasers directed at them/smoke/thermal smoke/distance or cover and you're gonna do pretty swell. As far as Suppression goes have that pumped AF Reaction and a stellar edge and you'll be pretty well set. You will have to duck for cover if some other accurate guy comes shooting but you can get pretty far with a Reaction+Intuition+Combat sense pool.
>Reaction of 9
>Int of 6
>~3 combat sense

That puts you to 18 dodge dice which isn't invincible but it does mean that you're toe to toe with a mook that has 9 dice in shooting firing full auto at you without being super super invested in dodging.
If you wanna go burnout you can push a couple more int dice or if you wanna really play unfair combat sense yourself with the spell at a high force.

Haven't played Shadowrun since 3rd.
My old group wants to RP again and we like Shadowrun.
I looked over 5th Edition and bought in.
What I got so far:
>Rulebook
>Run Faster
>Run&Gun
>Chrome Flesh

What else do I need for a good campaign?
I thought about like 10 Episodes of a Season for the first time in a long time.
I do not allow Deckers and Technomancers. Not because of the rules, but because of the solitary job they do. No fun for anyone watching the Tech/Deck roll...Maybe in the future where everybody plays a hacker and go full Matrix.

I don't want my GM to have a headache, I want him to have an aneurysm. I want him to be so seething mad that he full autos grenades at me. I want him to destroy the entire party just to take me down. That's all I want.

>bought
TROGGER
DON'T GIVE CGL MONEY
ALL BOOKS ARE IN THE OP

Did you buy your books from Pegasus ?
For a fun game the CRB is enough.
There is the street grimore for awakened.
Forbidden arts, despite for all the justified shit it gets, has pretty cool new types of awakened.

is it really hooding if you're not actually helping anyone but yourself when you do it? Like killing the wendigo in your apartment building basement?

New traditions are fun too. Green and Red especially

I like to have books in my hand.
Also I have the priviledge of being German and get to have edited books with extra content.
Shadowrun is huge in the German RPG scene and since I know some of the translators, I like to support them.

bought them from my LGS. German books cost 20€, English books 50€...go figure.

that seems to be good for more than just yourself, so you could see it as hooding

>Also I have the priviledge of being German
In that case the OP obviously doesn't apply. Buying Pegasus books is A-OK
Wo willst du das Spiel spielen lassen?

Also read the 2D storytime if you haven't already

As long as you didn't buy from CGL, chummer.

>bought them from my LGS. German books cost 20€, English books 50€...go figure.
Good, we don't like giving CGL money around here, also the binding is better with the German ones, we can't fix shit at tho.

Literally, anime at would Haven been better than most pictures have more.

>anime at would Haven been better than most pictures have more.
what

*Than those we have now.
sorry for phone posting.

>tfw going flechette suppression with a Mossberg AM with rating 2 extended clip for the first time
Can't wait to get my hands on an AA-16 to further fuck shit up, but holy shit this is just so much fun.

Okay the ARE exceptions to the rule.
But then there is the image that shows a couple made out of a hagraven and a fat hairy blob who keep their child servant hostage.
It's supposed to shiw netcat and slamm-o.

Also to words: gun art.

I mean if you do a hooding run for selfish reasons is it really something that should be rewarded? Shutting down a toxic waste dump to give the local Ancients chapter a place to base, or killing an insect shaman who's trying to turn your crack den into a hive, forcing you to go elsewhere?

chummer, I'm just confused what the fuck you were trying to write
Did you roll a crit glitch on your Computer test there?

>Wo willst du das Spiel spielen lassen?
Hamburg Sprawl mostly. With some visits to exotic locations.

>gun art
Some of them look cool. The barrel-magazine ones especially.

is it the intention that makes it a hooding run or the outcome
is a run that coincidentally helps the poor worse than a run that is done in good intention but with disastrous results?

Oh, you mean the one were Gilbert Gotfried in drag is screaming at Danny Trejo who really let himself go?

No, he surely means Agile Defender.
Acrobatic Defender is a stupid choice that put limits on your tests for no gain. Sure, in theory you can get you Acrobatics higher than your agility.
In practice, you want you AGI as high as possible anyways and from there its taking you a fuckton of Karma to get even a single point more via Acrobatics.

State of the Art: ADL has nice tools, and Hard Targets has a fuckton of rules and very cool setting stuff. Basically the best SR book in my opinion.

Cool is taste but most still look outright unwieldy and unnecessary complex.
From a design viewpoint they are usually over-designed while at the same time ignoring other common guidelines.

Wanna know whats even more fun?
This, combined with the Stick&Shock flechettes from the latest enhanced fiction.

Enjoy your huge wall of electricity flying towards the bogeys.

Yeah that one, somebody please post it.
Pretty please.

yeah, I think agile defender is much better especially short term. If you intend to play an extremely long game then maybe acrobatic defender will become higher, but generally agile defender is stronger/more useful

>Stick&Shock flechettes from the latest enhanced fiction.
WHAT NAME IS THAT BOOK ?
I'm going to touch myself tonight

The Seattle Gambit.

>Hard Exit doesn't like a gun because it's bad at suppressing fire
>has burst fire
>has recoil comp
>has big clip
>literally called the Suppressor
Joggins the noggins don't it

Honestly, i have never seen anyone raising Skills beyond 6 because its so ridiculously expensive.
Why would i pay 14 Karma for a single additional D6 in one skill, when 15 will allow me to raise an Attribute from 2 to 3?
And most sheets will have one or more of these.

I'd read some Shadowrun books about a sociopathic runner whose myopic quest for drugs and cash happens to leave his part of the sprawl a better place.
>Simsense snuff-film studio wiped out of the sprawl because they stopped making his favourite fetish porn sims
>Breaking a dozen SINless test-subjects out of a corp laboratory because one of them stole his tridset to pay for a cram habit and he wants it back
>Fending off go-gangers from ram raiding a jewelry store because he was casing the joint for his own robbery and they fucked up all his careful prepwork
>Hunting down a blood mage because the basement he's working out of happens to be the same one he stashes his novacoke

He's saying he'd rather have anime art than the shoddy images CGL tends to use.

I love it

>slaughters an elder god cult for taking over his favorite nightclub on Tuesdays (his preferred night)
>kills a dangerous and infectious headcase neighbor for being too noisy while he's trying to sleep in the apartment above

Post your current characters lads

>Real Name: Tony Santos
>Street Name: Twitch
>team's rigger
>hyperactive elf; moderate addictions to caffeine, novacoke, BTLs, and video games
>godawful fashion sense (pic related)
>party animal, but isn't all that charismatic (bit of a sperg)
>constantly and unsuccessfully flirts with guys and girls alike
>likes explosions a bit too much; tends to giggle while watching his drones blow things and enemies up
>probably the nicest guy in the group

>Real Name: Anonymous
>Street Name: user
>fa/tg/uy lurker
>lonely human on the internet
>has no shadowrun game to play

Kek I remember that, somebody please post it.

I can't find the pic you refer to (but I know which one it is)
But here is a pic from far better times

The good old times when artists expected to get paid for their work.
