Jumpers!
Fuck you.

Reposting the new Ace Combat capstones.

-Nemesis Squadron (600CP) (50% off: Soldier): Grabacr Squadron. Yellow Squadron. Strigon Team. These were the soldiers who could turn the tide of war and bring utter dread to the enemy when they took to the field. Teams of Aces are both beautiful and terrifying when they come together, and now you have the chance to join their ranks. When in combat with a small team of allies, their effectiveness in battle will be enhanced significantly along with yours, with each of you having an instinctive awareness of what the other will be doing. Even better, newcomers will find that their combat prowess and skills in battle will climb rapidly when working with you, quickly catching up to the rest of you in a matter of weeks.

-Wielder of Excalibur (600CP) (50% off: Knight): In ancient times, there were legends of a mythical sword which could only be removed from a stone by a true king. The king was meant to be noble, fair, and wise in leading the country to glory. You may not have a physical sword, but your skills in leading others is still among the legends. Your tactical knowledge and ability to adapt plans on the go is second-to-none, with your leadership skills to a level where you could orchestrate an entire battle with ease while fighting alongside them. Lead by example, and they will follow you wherever you go.

Ok, so this is the version I'm putting up that just has the Races, origins, and locations for now. I'll be working on it pretty much all night though so I'll try and put up new versions when I get a perk line or something like that done.

-Tidal Wave (600CP) (50% off: Mercenary): Everyone has to start from somewhere. That’s what they always say, to comfort themselves should they face innumerable odds. Yet there’s another phrase as well: It’s darkest before dawn. Should you involve yourself in a war on the losing side and start delivering surgical victories, you’ll find that this starts to build momentum. Maybe the file-and-rank soldiers start becoming better. Maybe they get better equipment. Who’s to say? But the more you win, the more your side will start going from the losing side to the winning side, so long as you keep on winning for them. You could be what they need to turn this around.

-Wonder Weapons (600CP) (50% off: Engineer): …or you could most definitely be knowledgeable enough, your cleverness being enough to plunge entire continents into a state of panic. The engineering prowess you possess is nothing short of amazing, being able to expertly design powerful anti-asteroid weapons such as the Stonehenge facility or the Excalibur tower, or aerial fortresses like the Arsenal Bird or the Aigaion-class heavy command cruiser. What’s more, you’ll find the intrigue of such weapons can get countries to seriously consider funding your projects. It is time for you to own these shattered skies.

-Unsung War (600CP) (50% off: Politician): Have you heard of the story of the Grey Men? It was a group of Belkan supremacists who were angry at losing the war, and had taken revenge through quite the intricate conspiracy that had spread its tendrils through a number of organizations. You have taken a note from them, and have learned their ways. You’re capable of making plans that span for decades, as well as finding openings to send agents in with near-perfect cover stories and using political developments to further your own agendas. You’re clever enough to do this while maintaining a near air-tight alibi as a public figure, to boot. Let them choke on their false victory.

-Belkan Heritage (300CP): In the nation of Belka, the pride of having the blood of ancient knights is so great that the noble houses have political sway to this very day. Even with that, there might be something to it as the nation tends to produce an abnormal amount of Aces that brought absolute terror to the beginnings of the Belkan War. You have the blood of one of the noble houses, and with it an unnatural aptitude with fighter planes that seems to only climb more and more with each battle to turn you into an Ace among Aces in time. Strangely enough this trait seems to be inheritable… maybe you’ll start your own Belkan Noble House?

Hopefully this is a good sneak peek for folks who waited.

Oh no. I say, this has to go. Go go Godzilla.

Has your jumper's tendency to not take things seriously ever bitten them on the ass?

Ahhhh... should've put WIP on that.

Well, history does show again and again how nature points out the folly of man.

No, fuck you! You're gonna go to fist city, destroyer of souls!

At least buy me dinner first.

Yo. Electrosphere content pls?

I thought you only liked girls Gudako.

Is there even anything to do in Star Wars besides killing sand-people and other sub-humans?

Kill humans, clones, giant slugs, spacebeasts, wendigo, lead a droid rebellion and kill any meatbag....
There's plenty.

What even is the relation between the Jawas and the Sand People?
They both seem native to Tatooine, since they don't show up elsewhere, but one is small and relatively pacifist, and the other are violent raiders.

Jawas are frequent targets of Tusken Raiders.

>those new capstones
It is almost as glorious as Belka.

Destroy the existence of sand itself and maintain the high ground

There is one thing I want feedback on in particular in that WIP. What do people think about Millennian? Is it to much? Should the cost be more? Is it to strong?

>Is anything to do in Star Wars
Well... You could conquer Ryloth, make your own Jedi/Sith order, look for ancient artifacts, innovate the several thousand year old tech everyone's using, kill the force, collect interesting creatures, free all the slaves, and steal a giant spaceship.

Blue Oyster Cult stay and go stay.

See how deep you can go under Coruscant.
Troll Palpatine and the Jedi Council.
Hijack Centrepoint Station and go ten pin bowling with stars.

>The Jawas were originally descendants of the Kumumgah species which used to live on Tatooine long before the formation of the Galactic Republic and long before the planet was even a desert. During the Pre-Republic era, sometime before 25,200 BBY, the Rakata of the Infinite Empire punished the Kumumgah for defying their authority by unleashing an orbital bombardment that reduced the surface of the once lush world of Tatooine into little more than fused glass, which eventually crumbled and became desert sand.[16] This extreme climatic change split the Kumumgah into two races: the tall Ghorfas (who evolved into the Sand people) and the short Jawas.

Note that evolution in SW seems to happen faster than in RL. Might be Force shenanigans.

>Final Fantasy 1
>Hero BBS
>Worm
Are these the three best-balanced jumps on the drive?

>Main Chain
Let me whistle you a little tune. After all, a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.

>Indulgence Chain
Take a number and get in line. Current wait time is... 4 hours.

I feel the need! The need for SPEED!

No

But it's time we had a break from it.

>tfw you have to reply to your reference because no one bites

Why do you say that?

Huh. Thanks.

For reference.

...

...

Why does everything have to be a competition? Can't we just enjoy the Jumps on their own merits?

No. The best balanced jump is Nintendogs, as every option lets you be a cute and fluffy doggo or kitteh, which are the best more desirable possible states.

...

It's not a competition. These jumps are balanced equally well. You can enjoy them on their own merits knowing that bit of trivia.

Can't argue with that.

Wut?

Because that's impossible with a bunch of nerds on the internet.

What's the easiest way to kill Iihiko Shishime if you're doing Madeka Box as a first Jump?

Take Legendary Hero + Concept Ball and stab him.

Okay, which of them shouldn't be on the list?

SIT DOWN

Okay, done. I'm sitting down. Now what?

To be clear, I'm not saying they're the best jumps. Definitely not. Just the most well-balanced.

OK, so I'm almost finished with the politician perk line. Would you guys prefer if I posted an update after every finished line or when all the perks are done?

Shouldn't Kaiju be a race instead of a background?

Only things I know about Fate are Saberposting and the forest threesome. Would there be any problems from taking any of the 1000 point perks, especially Sorcerer's Apprentice?

After all perks are done. Easier to compare balance that way.

Ehhh. Not really. Cause they aren't a race they are just a classification.

So picking human and kaiju wouldn't put any restrictions on our appearance?

Your ass is probably gonna look like Frakenstein if you take it literally. I probably should put some restrictions there though...

Wait, so legendary hero gives a conceptual attack as well as defense?

This is the 2015th thread for Fate general and that's all you know? Are you new?

Yes. In the manga, the attack actually trumps th

Hmm... may make Kaiju a race and background, then have taking the Kaiju race or background locking you into the other. Cause I really didn't think of the whole human race, kaiju background thing.

Not intrinsically. Black Grail is a complete unknown that'd have magi wanting to lock you up for research. Reality Marbles are a known unknown that'd have magi wanting to lock you up for research. True Magics are well known and would have magi watching your ass very carefully if they knew how good you can really be (most of Zelretch's apprentices are a fucking mess) as well as making you a target for moonlit world realpolitik.

Don't play with magi is what I'm saying. They're bad playmates.

Isn't Frank already a Showa kaiju, tho?

Schedule a vacation in another country when he's supposed to show up, and let Medaka and co. deal with him.

Yeah. He is I was just saying if you did do something like that and took the interpretation literally you'd probably look like him. Doesn't really matter though gonna make that clearer in the next version.

What are your favorite luck/good fortune perks? I have a mighty need to create an extremely lucky Jumper.

Also, another vaguely related question. Anyone know a good magic system that can allow you to compel spirits to obey you or trap them and use their power against their will? I've got some plans for Pact, but I don't quite like Others, or Demons for that matter.

I avoid reading bad posts and Saberposting is always filled with completely incomprehensible jargon but now I happened to read the Fate jump.

>trying to decide which jump to do first, don't want to use any of the 'staples'
>wonder if Jurassic Park would work
>remember that if taken first, can't get the hybrid combo I'd want as a Dinosaur
>have a bunch of jumps bookmarked, from El Goonish Shive to Archie Sonic Universe to Lizardmen, not sure where to start at all
>ohboyherewego.jpeg

Confused orc unrelated.

Yeah, but since he has it too, who knows what will happen. You might be able to hurt him with Legendary Hero if you punch him WITHOUT turning on your "piece abilities" shtick, because then it's just a "normal" physical attack in the same way Kurokami Phantasm is "normal," but if you're working under that assumption then he could just do the same to you.

Fighting him with just Legendary Hero is not recommended if it's your first jump, since he'll be way better at using it then you'll be.

What are some jumps you want that you know will never happen if you don't make them yourself?

>who knows what will happen
Luckily there's a perk in the jump just for resolving these sorts of conflicts.

Nintendogs.

I want to advise against EGS as a first jump, just because it's really easy to become strong enough to stomp the setting while also seeming like it'd be a fun setting in which to be overpowered.

All the ones in my drive. I tend to choose stuff that's not well-known in this community, I'm the only one interested in those jumps being finished. I've got one for a hard sci-fi series about alien archaeology, one for this big Gundam fan-universe, and one for an indie action RPG set in ancient Sumeria. All pretty neat stuff, but I'm probably never going to finish them.

Yeah, but you need 400 CP worth of drawbacks to get both perks, which may be more than you want with a hyper-specialized first jump build.

Which perk is that?

And while I'm on the topic, I don't know anything about the series, so what would be the downsides of waifuing Madeka?

>this big Gundam fan-universe
Me want. What is it based on, if I may ask?

>downsides of waifuing Madeka
She's easily the weakest part of the story, she's boring.

Do it as a third jump.

Get the Hypnosis perk in Monogatari, visit Futurama, then hypnotize Iihiko into having Boneitis.

>since he'll be way better at using it then you'll be
To be fair, you should have the element of surprise. You could probably just shoot/stab him before he finds out what you are, and by then it'd be too late.

Given that the perk based on her describes her as a sue, not surprising.

He'll be back before you know it. He has too.

Did you know that, according to the Yugioh Master Guide lore, a Pot of Greed will violently explode the moment you take an item out of it?

>hard sci-fi series about alien archaeology
>action RPG set in ancient Sumeria
Sound pretty cool, nigga.

Oh, there's a whole list.
>Evil Genius
>Bojack Horseman
>Dagashi Kashi
>Evil Genius
>Pyre

I could go on for quite a while.

Reminder to spend the entire jump doing your best Saitama impression after buying LH.

Augmented Reality Girls Trinary.

Though nearly everything I've found out was through Google Translate, it was interesting nonetheless.

For example, the main enemies they fight are known as Clans/Curans. These are beings that are brought offset from hearts/minds of people and are based on an individuals problems, feelings, or aspirations.

They can come from anyone, be it a man who loves guns, a 7 year old girl who lost her mother, or even a girl who lost her best friend thanks to cyber bullying.

Though its real vague, enemy Clans usually manifest in these cocoon like pillars of light, known as Phenomena. These areas are essentially pocket dimensions that manifest.

Though real vague, thanks to my knowledge coming from Google Translate, sometimes strong Clans can manifest in the real world without the who Phenomena thing. These Clans can be rather friendly and can be used to empower a Trinary member, giving them abilities in combat, though being able to use them depends on a Clans compatibility to a Trinary member.

Again, this is though Google Translate so my 'knowledge' can be very incorrect.

Though I would take it up, only if anyone would actually be interested in a Jump of the setting setting, even though the above mentioned complication is present.

>I could go on for quite a while.
Go on for another five, then. Just to round it out.

>>Bojack Horseman
why does watching this hurt.

>Pot of Greed violently explodes the moment you take an item out of it
>Pot of GREED explodes when an item is removed from it

No, fuck you, Leather Man.

Destroy All Humans
Dominions
Conquest of Elysium

I'm too crap at jumpmaking to actually make them though.

Larklight. Despite being made by the same guy who made Mortal Engines, I don't think anyone's heard about it. Hell, I was actually starting to think I dreamed it up until I confirmed it existed!

Maybe, but Fallen London is the best written.

The Golden Age. Gundam SEED fanfic, starts off as an alternate version of SEED Destiny with OC characters and new mobile suits, eventually progresses to this crazy thing full of psychic whale gods and alien armadas and biomechanical dino-Evangelions. Three fics, each around a million words long, with an RP forum that's actually got rules and attempts to balance the gameplay. That's how I got into it, a friend introduced me to the game because it's actually got some really cool mecha creation rules. The tech porn is strong in that setting, even if the antimatter reactive armor is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The forum also has notes for where the author wants to take the story if he ever resumes it, this big huge summary and some snippets of a sequel, so I could probably make the jump extend that far so that the jumper could interact with the Celestial Races plot thread. Though I'm pretty sure the details he's posted about the Ancients are hinting that Black EDEN is actually their creation and therefore a trap, so if I offered it I'd have to put in a note saying the one you have is safe.

Boundary and Moon Hunters, respectively, if you want to give them a look. Pretty good stuff. Boundary's about finding alien ruins on Mars setting off a new space race, really cool stuff about both realistic space colonization and how you'd do archaeology of a species that evolved in non-terrestrial conditions with accordingly different psychology and physiology. Moon Hunters is this neat pixel art Diablo-clone mixed with a visual novel that has procedurally-generated plot threads and quests where your character's emerging legend influences their stats. Really fun, even if tracking down some of the multi-day quests is really hard. That fucking quest about learning to talk to animals, I swear.

Hey, I've heard of it. Can't say I've read it, though.

>Luck Jumper
Huh, had the same idea actually. For general luck perks, check out the Drop-In capstones for Great Detective and Indiana Jones, the thief capstone in Sword and Sorcery, and Firefly.

For plot armor perks, check out The Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Ash vs Freddy vs Jason, Kamen Rider Ryuki, and a Hero BBS.

>Bind spirits
I think the Bartimaeus Sequence might have something for that. Anima's pretty good too, but you need to know their true names first.

Yeah, okay, sure. Might as well make it a top ten.
>Endless Summer
>Little Nightmares
>Paper Sorcerer
>Dungeon of the Endless
>Hand of Fate

Just imagine. I watched it initially, then rewatched the entire thing in an attempt to work on the Jump, then went back for thirds when that newest season came out.

I swear I felt a piece of my soul die. And I still couldn't finish the Jump.

A shame the rest of Clover's work can hardly compare to it.

Fitting. I've never heard of any of them.

Mind dropping some pdfs for the WIPs? Those all sound wicked cool.

You should post every single perk in batches of 2 as you make them. That apparently works really well and never annoys anyone.
