Can you guys recommend any Android apps that you find helpful? I bought the DM guide, monster manual, and the player's handbook. Looking for any helpful resources I can use when I'm not at home. Right now we're a group of four with me as the DM. Trying to design a simple starting campaign with a basic setting as my wife and I are new to the game, as is the wife of the other couple. The only person who's played before is her husband and he says it's been over twenty years. So we're essentially starting from scratch.

Currently playing an elven grave cleric, he’s a bit of a historian and is obsessed with peoples lineage and family histories. He’s also old as fuck and basically feels like he’s babysitting the half elf in the group because he might be necessary to maintain his bloodline.

Fifth Edition Character Sheet is solid. Saves paper and pencils and easier to keep track of stuff. Little unintuitive in places but one of the best apps there is.

Battlemaster and Eldritch Knight are the only fighter archetypes that are ever worth taking. All the rest are piss-boring unless all you wana do is say "I attack" every turn and not have to think about anything else.

just let your normal combat kills count as sacrifices

you don't need to constantly kidnap people for ritualistic sacrifices. just save some body parts to eat later or whatever

Ask your DM about rest rules. If he says he plans on 3 encounters-ish for long rest and you know you'll be able to deal with having a resource to manage ober that period, go with Samurai.
Anything else (or if you want to DOOL WEELD) go Battlemaster.

Youll need some kind of plot device.

I once played an evil warforged that was discovered by the party while petrified. Laying on the ground infront of me was a "control rod", an item that let whoever was holding it control me. This let me play as the evil guy constantly suggesting we kill everyone or burn the building to the ground, but in a fun non-serious way. It was kind of like playing as HK-47 from SW:TOR.

NEVER EVER EVER play the "Im SECRETLY evil!" guy in a party of good characters. That shit is gay as fuck.

I'm running an Eberron campaign soon, but found the UA rules for Warforged lacking. I found this "Make-a-Warforged" homebrew, but it was missing the fuckoff big heavily armored warforged you'd get when you took Adamantine Body. So I added this:

Adamantine Body
At the cost of mobility, your body was crafted with a layer of
adamantine that provides formidable protective armor. You
gain a +1 to Armor Class. You have disdvantage on Dexterity
(Stealth) and Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks, and your
speed is reduced by 5 feet.
This upgrade costs 5 points.

Does this seem imbalanced?

Samurai had Spirit 3/SR and it gave damage resistance.
In XGE fighting spirit became 3/Long Rest and gives scaling THP instead. In exchange at level 10 it becomes a per-encounter resource.

Dont forget fighting spirit used to also last until the end of your NEXT turn, doubling the amount of turns you had advantage.

UA samurai was definitely OP.

XGE samurai is definitely UP.

Fighting spirit is now only active the turn you use it, instead of until the end of your next turn. It gives shitty THP instead of resistance, and it recovers on long rest instead of short
