You've already got the building blocks for a background, but that's beside the point.
If this is what your character is looking like during character creation, then his status as a career thief is over from the very moment the session begins. You might think notoriety is "cool", but it will work against you. There's two identifying features that would immediately make his identity obvious; the facial tattoos, and the bad eye.
The former is far more easily handled than the latter, and for the eye itself there's no good solution beyond magic. There's also the fact that he's wearing what very well may be jewels that he's stolen. If anybody is capable of recognizing those items, he's obviously advertising his status as a thief.
Make a new character, because otherwise you'll just be a burden to the rest of the party.
