GW did say they plan on adding new armies at some point during this edition.
Once they get done with all the dexes, they'll star releasing new models, adding stuff to lines like the primaries, probably some supplements and some new factions.

So I'm painting my first model and it looks so fucking terrible, to the point where I'm actually disheartened enough to give up with 40k and tabletop war games all-together.

I just wanted to enjoy a real hobby, not end up cutting myself again for painting a Space Marine badly.

Sisters, Deathwatch, Knights. Ynnari Inquisition and Sisters of Silence maybe. Once they're done there will probably be a stretch of mostly AoS stuff. After that they'll usually pick an army with some older models and redo them, add some new models and release a new book. We may also see a new faction or subfaction.

I've started painting some Daemonettes recently. The ones I painted up 6 years ago look like aborted foetuses in comparison. My painting is still not excellent but it is above "Table Top Quality". It just takes time jabroni.

All metal schemes. Leadbelcher plus Nuln Oil looks pretty good all on its own. A space marine chapter like Silver Skulls is really easy to paint. Custodes would also be really easy. Just use gloss shade and skip the highlights.

Necron, Grey knight, Custode, basicly anything with gold/silver as main color.

Knightlets, when will they ever learn?

Yeah Necrons are a good example. Easy stuff is going to be mostly one color and of an easy to paint color like metal, grey, drab green, or blue. Even super complex stuff like AdMech can be easy if you just paint the whole thing one metal color.
