FOOD
AND
PROVISIONS
EVERY TIME UNTIL YOU LIKE IT

Oathbreakers are lame.

Does anyone else have sexual fantasies about their in-game characters?
I really like the idea of our shy boyish cleric spending time mending the the barbarians wounds and feeling his tight muscular body while wrapping the bandages.
Then one day he eventually accepts the barbarian's half-jesting advances before finding being fucked in the full nelson position and shouting the name of his god while his ass gets pillaged by big fat barbarian cock.
When they eventually come back to the camp site to sleep the cleric After cuddling for a few hours the cleric and barbarian would eventually come back to the camp site to sleep for the night.
The cleric goes off to sleep, never realizing that the rest of the party heard him calling out for his deity in pleasure intermixed with loud grunts from the barb.

>hopes
A fixed Mystic or Artificer

some subraces

Yup, it's still Veeky Forums

Again, looking for critique on this. My friends ask me to make monsters for 3/4/5e since I make decent homebrew stuff but my experience with 5e is literally nothing beyond glancing at the rulebook.

...

I don't really know what I should base hopes and expectations on. My attitude's always been 'wait and see'.

>Mystic or Artificer
Those exist outside of the UA loop now. I think the next revisions (whenever those happen) will be done through their DM's Guild entries.

Yes, evil paladins only work for evil campaigns

...

Not anymore. It makes for the better game.

Stop being such creepy faggot, user.

I'll be using one as the lesser evil guy. hopefully the party can convince him to go back to his oath.

I'm gonna make my players fetch something (still not sure what though) from a mindflayer's SAW-like dungeon.

I'd appreciate some ideas for fun shit. Puzzles, encounters, or just for flavor.

Some things I've got:
>10 Pints of Sacrifice trap - to progress they have to give up hit points by sacrificing blood.
>They encounter old victims to the mindflayers dungeon that have gone insane

Homebrew/10

No, but then I'm a weird freak who enjoys playing asexual characters around ERPfags.

>What are your hopes for Feburary's UA?
More fighting styles, maneuvers, feats, or additional rules that give more options other than spells for once.
>What are your expectations?
A completely shit/broken subclass that no one asked for, an ok subclass that isn't terribly unique, and a not!Revised subclass. Calling it now.

What the fuck is that "hyuck hyuck" looking fuck in the back?

...

I keep my degeneracy out of sight of my players thank you very much.

All my characters are asexual, ERP or no.

J-just because I like this doesn't mean I'm gay, does it? A cute femboy getting speared by a hard cock... Just cause I'm a little hard, I'm not gay, okay?

Well since nobody is screaming or vomiting I'll just assume it's acceptable.

>What are your expectations?
A big steaming pile of shit like yet another Wizard subclass that is just sorcerer 2.0

I don't believe you.

Is 5e a good game for a first time GM? A guy I know who was gonna run something decided against it to focus on his studies, so now I wanna do it.

Nothing with too crazy an overarching plot, and core books only, starting from level 1. First session of typical in medias res "You are all on the ferry when suddenly, ayyliums attack!". Generic plot of some higher level monster like a Beholder or Rakhasa or whatever has taken a town and now the PCs do something or other with this information, hopefully go either retake the town or maybe join the monsters if the party ends up being mostly nonhuman, I dunno, I'm just kicking ideas around while reading the core books right now.

I want it to be more combat oriented but with more organized monsters and heavy use of cover and flanking being encouraged rather than the usual "There are two cultists armed with daggers in the hallway."/"I roll to attack!" lame shit I'm used to seeing.

But am I gonna just disappoint myself and everyone around me if I try? I've never properly GM'd before and I haven't even gotten to play a game since college. What's some good resources on GM-ery and encounter design?

I was thinking instead of rolling on tables / curating items I would just have a massive magic market with pretty most magic items rare and below. The players just tell me what they want, and pay the proper amount. They'd have to go through me first, so they don't stock up on rings of wishes

Is this an alright system of handling Magic Items?

This. I won't rest until Food and Provisions become a reality.

Need simple plot hook ideas. I'm going to run the windmill chapter (Old Bonegrinder) as a one-shot. How do I motivate the PCs to investigate? They'll meet the old hag selling pastries, but what else can they do in Barovia before venturing to the windmill?

...

How high is the chance for "Marathon" coming out in May to be Modron March?

sounds like it'd be boring 2bh but if it's a higher level party that should have reasonable access to the people and money to get gear i dont see why not allow something like that. maybe limit the number of items they can order though

thats a drow
except if you mean the roper

Well, it takes magic out of the Magic Items.

I'm still waiting for the reason as to why, 5e is better than Pathfinder. Its been how many threads & yet not one 5e autist has given me a valid reason.

damn meant to reply to

streamlined mechanics. Advantage and Disadvantage are the best things to happen to d20 games

@57681967
ok

Way less trap options.

im with the game seems far easier and faster to play with about the same level of action. you just have to look less stuff up and use fewer tables and roll fewer times.

5e is probably the first time a D&D game has looked even playable to me, all it needs is more freeform spell casting/spell creation instead of a hard list and it'd be perfect

you guys understand this is a troll, right?

I see your bann has expired, shitposter-kun.

Oh well. Report.

Doesn't have the AC bloat of 4e and better damage scaling. Also monsters are improved with the inclusion of legendary and lair actions. 5e is what 3.butthurt tried to be.

Report and ignore.
This spam has gone on long enough

you seem to already have a good idea of how it works, i still suggest reading the DMG.

this is just a personal opinion but if you want more interesting combat, dont use flanking. let your players get creative to get advantage

Yeah like I'm going to listen to someone with a tripcode.

>Advantage and Disadvantage are the best things to happen to d20 games.

This is false because all it did was further add to autists believing that rolling a nat 20 means instant success & rolling a nat 1 is a critical failure.

Also all streamlined mechanics did was allow autists to be included & then quit because they realised that all classes are worthless & boring unless you play a Wizard.

That's why I only used four words

...

>autists believing that rolling a nat 20 means instant success & rolling a nat 1 is a critical failure.
Yes, if you roll a 1 you miss no matter what, and if you roll a 20 you hit no matter what. What seems to be the problem with this?

Funnily enough I was banned for spamming when all I did was create a new thread. These mods need to be banned themselves for being biased as all hell.

Might want to add resistance or immunity to physical damage if it's going to be made of nothing but petals.

Spam's against the rules senpai.

Buy the starter set, friend. It's a great place to start for both players and DMs. I recently finished it myself with my newbie friend group. Great fun.

@57682073
Mm-hmm.

So what's a way that your players make money /5eg/?
I've got a rogue that's trying to get rich quick.
Any schemes I could do?

>Doesn't have the AC bloat of 4e and better damage scaling.

What is Bladesinger.

>Also monsters are improved with the inclusion of legendary and lair actions.
Come on now we both know that the one thing that 5e does poorly its combat & adding these did nothing to improve it. 4e had much better combat.

How would Battlemaster Fighter 3/Rogue all the way be? Would it be shit to give up the extra attack of Fighter 5? I kind of like the idea of having one well placed shot per turn but since Heavy crossbows are just 1d10 and you only get one chance to hit it seems like a pretty big way to gimp myself, especially since the sneak attack damage will fall behind with 3 levels put into FIghter.

Nat 1 and Nat 20 being failure and success are positively fine (within reason, ie no mind control from a diplomacy check) as long as the DM isn't a sperg. They're the "sometimes shit happens" moments.
But instead of telling your 20 dex acrobat bard "lol you miss the ledge" when they catch themselves to fall have it be "the ledge crumbles"

>But instead of telling your 20 dex acrobat bard "lol you miss the ledge" when they catch themselves to fall have it be "the ledge crumbles"
So much of this.

Anyone got an album with some of those image edits containing the PHB?

>What is Bladesinger
A SCAG subclass that can only reach high AC for brief moments.

I meant those autists that take it too the extreme & think that a nat 20 will literally create a miracle/do the impossible & vice versa.

AC bloat in 4e refers to the monsters. If you didn't take every available increase to +hit you would have around a 35% chance to hit by level 10.

4e has better monsters and worse combat. It shouldn't take 2 hours to kill 4 monsters. 1 hour is already too long for that.

How should I make magic items magical?

How would I make it more interesting?

AKA AC bloat which was allowed to be released (not even the worse AC stacker mind you). Even though it doesn't last long it is usually enough for the average day in 5e.

I've heard Arcane Archer is kind of underwhelming, but what are the issues with it?

>brief moments.
>twice per short rest
I am not exactly convinced.

Descriptions and personality, i guess. I wish i could give you better answer.

I'm not gonna lie, I honestly want this.

>Does anyone else have sexual fantasies about their in-game characters?

Show me someone who doesn't, and I'll show you a liar. It doesn't help that all the characters I roll up are female.

Interrupt their rests then.

AC stacking is not AC bloat don't change the language because you're ignorant.

It's worse than battle master almost objectively. It does shit damage.

>Projecting this hard
Stop watching porn.

>Shadfag is back

Half-Orcs are my favorite race.

>Stop watching porn.
Unironically this. It'll change your life.

>dont use flanking.
why not? i wanna reward player movement and tactical thinking. the Flanking rule of having two dudes attack one dude from opposite sides sounds like it might get tedious, but lowercase 'f' flanking and having guys usually hiding behind stuff seems like a good idea. including facing seems like it could also be interesting but does that one get really tedious?

>let your players get creative to get advantage
I'm already an architecture and level design wonk so I can think of how to make the area interesting to move around and how there can be believable cover and verticality, but what kind of junk should be laying around for players to get creative on? all I can think of is mundane furniture, lamps/chandeliers, and that's really about it.

But I'm not shadfag user

It doesn't compare favorably to a plain old Battle Master fighter who uses a bow. The Battle Master has more options and deals more damage. (Particularly with Sharpshooter + Precision Attack) The Arcane Archer does have more effective debuffs, but it can't use them as frequently and they are short duration anyway. You're a damage dealer for the most part, and Battle Master does that better.

>postinging loli pedo shit
>trying to promote pathfinder
You might as fucking well be shadfag.

All-Mystic party. Yay or nay?

only if you want a shit game filled with shit people

I know Veeky Forums doesn't like Critical Role as a whole because of various reasons, and I know that y'all also don't like Mercer's Gunslinger because people don't like guns in their settings (which is fair, I don't either)

But I was wondering about your thoughts on the other homebrew shit he made? Stuff like the Blood Hunter or any of the subclasses the dude made in conjunction with WotC in the campaign guide he made for his setting?

Do y'all think that its bad because it's homebrew? Or could some of it be salvaged/used in a real game? I'm asking because my players enjoy the show, and I have pdfs for all the things he released on DMs guild (I think) plus the campaign setting so I was thinking about offering them the options if they wanted to but I wanted your advice before I ended up ruining the game.

Honestly I think that it's just as good if not better than most of the UA, so I was just thinking about doing the rules for that, ie no multiclassing with it

Oh, hello no.

ALL MYSTIC INFERNAL VARIANT WINGED TIEFLINGS

>including facing seems like it could also be interesting but does that one get really tedious?
it's pretty unmanageable to me. if you do large combats it adds way too much in my opinion for what you get out of it. (muh realism)

flanking is just weird, and too easy to set up imo when movement within threat range doesn't trigger opportunity attacks. it also exacerbates the advantage of superior numbers. action economy is already brutal enough when a group is outnumbered 2 to 1, it feels unnecessary to also give the numerically superior team attack bonuses

Honestly Blood Hunter is fine. Gunslinger is too, depending on the setting.I agree with your spoiler.

Blood Hunter is good, I like it. The stuff in the Tal'Dorei campaign guide is garbage, though.

So when playing on a hex grid, line spells make sense going horizontally. When going vertically, they appear to go hex - line - hex - line and so on. So do enemies on the sides of these lines avoid the spell, or are they both affected?

>Double concentration feat
Wew

Other user here.
Could you elaborate on how and why?

>flanking
We used it for time and the result was all melee combatants ended forming lines as they were fishing for advantages.

My current DM occasionally throws in advantage when 3+ attackers gank one foe, though.

But how does it matter if they buy it from a merchant? I would probably roleplay the bargaining, the merchant would spin a tale about how his amulet of protection saved a far off lands king, allowing him to win a war

Stat her /5eg/

I make the effect originate from the center of a side of the hex, so lines that don't go straight through hexes travel like this

in a more direct answer to your question:

To be fair, his smart players weren't playing casters with the exception of Sam, who didn't make much use of it. Marisha is retarded and Ashley plays healbot and also sometimes does a blast.

Okay that's along the lines I was thinking of.

I neither know nor care about whoever th e fuck that is.
>>>/pgg/

>Not knowing who Sakura is
KYS

Also stat them /5eg/

It would make me happy, so no.

I don't know your players, but most players i know wont bother about the environment if you gave them a cheap way to get advantage (flanking)
basically what this user said try to make the battlefield interesting without giving yourself too much to worry about during the game, you'll have enough to do as is.
a thing that helps me is thinking: "would this environment be a challenge even out of combat?"
