>Scenario: a widespread virus has spread across the world, granting powers to some and disease to others. Higher rolls are completely fine while lower rolls are still afflicted.
You know, just for once I'd like to see this taken to /qst/ to make for some actual roleplaying. It'd be terribly fun. Also, I guess I'm superpowerful. Not sure how to do the Effect Variation stuff.

But everyone was constantly coming in to roll powers on /qst/ would it be too cluttered for RP? I would be down.
I want to make a system for this on Veeky Forums using dice rolls but I can't figure out a decent way to do it. Whats the best way to do powerlevels?
>users can produce powder/dust, including purely natural, medical, magical, etc. that can have various effects including dulling the senses of others, reducing or even totally negating powers, causing illusions, paralysis or even death. So I could predict where best to employ this shit provided I'm good at it?
>Psychic Smoke Manipulation >User can create, shape and manipulate psychic smoke, which allows them to obscure a person’s thoughts, creep into a victim’s mind and/or stifle mental activity.
>Jolt Inducement >Users cause molecules to shake uncontrollably, which can be used to innervate the user or shake a target. Users may go into a tangent of wild spasms, or may only cause vibration. It may also be used to vibrate at certain resonance frequencies, to disable locks or break or disassemble matter.
>While seemingly simple this power may negate other powers, Enhanced Speed and Intangibility may be voided if users of Jolt Inducement were to vibrate their molecules back together. Likewise, a user of Telepathy may have difficulty connecting to a user due to jumpy brain waves.
Call me Shake n' Bake, I guess. This is a pretty versatile powerset even if I don't hit high on the power curve.
James Perry
And of course I roll a damn nine.
Maybe I can get a spot in the police force or something, softening up Supers for confessions. Might make a decent smalltime infiltrator since no one's going to be on the ball if they're talking to me.
Basically I'm a super-druid living off the land, and able to shape anything I need from the earth? Neat.
Mason Reed
Alright, so I'm at least decent at using my powers it seems. I get the whole Esper package, and can travel between timelines and universes. I'd say that using my secondary power is very dangerous and difficult to control, while the first is considerably safer. Nonetheless, very cool power set, and timeline hopping can get me out of dire situations. As soon as I tested some variables in time travel, I'd go way back in time just to train my powers and master them.
Parker Rodriguez
>So I could predict where best to employ this shit provided I'm good at it? Yes, but at your powerlevel, the dust may be planted a bit too soon or late, or one of the wrong timelines produced the wrong dust.
It could be useful. If someone is after something, disassemble that thing and those parts can't be affected by physical aspects. Guy trying to use a weapon? Disassemble is weapon to not be affected by your weapon. Guys trying to escape the building? Disassemble the door into a mess of parts making an invulnerable wall.

Association Manipulation:The user can create, shape and manipulate associations, causing objects, concepts, etc. to be associated with another thing, and possibly alter its meaning somewhat. They can manipulate connection of what something is associated with, for example altering the number 13 to make it associated with happiness and luck instead of unluckiness, or making color black is associated with pureness and good instead of bad and evil.
Sylph Physiology:User with this ability either is or can transform into an Sylph, invisible beings of the air, originating as Paracelsus elementals of air. They have no known substantial mythos associated with them, but several RPGs have used them.
They are most commonly described as faerie-like females with insect-wings, with ability to turn invisible and manipulate air and wind.

Maybe the power roll should be something with a curve rather than something where you've got the same chance to be trash as you are to be a demigod.
Wait. How do I combine powers when one power is combining powers and the other power can't be used without combining powers?
Zachary Butler
So I'd that character who is mostly useless in anything but a support role until a big event hits and suddenly its my time to go out in a blaze of glory? Like, say, taxing my power to its limits to dismantle some alien doomsday device while other heroes protect me and then after the job is done I collapse just before my designated love interest arrives?
Groovy.

This. I'm thinking 100's are lucky enough to have their abilities completely understood and in order from the very beginning rather than being the strongest version of a power. 1's however aren't weak but just slow starters having difficulty using or coping with their power BUT they have a chance at higher growth in the longterm than higher levels.
Or maybe High Powerlevel have less limitations and more capabilities while Low Powerlevels have more limitations and less capabilities.
Expert at making artistic choices and can imprison people in paintings, but only if they fit his artistic vision (for example can't trap someone wearing a hoodie in a renaissance painting)

Well there's no reason they couldn't be immortal. I don't know why you'd need to mind control someone who you're already creating from scratch to your design though. It's like, do you really need editing privileges if you're the author?
Ian Howard
Wow i'm Condiment king-tier
Lincoln Morris
no, but mine are actual, ressurected people, or gods, my buddy can help kill the gods to take control of them! hell, even you could end up a waifu.
Well duh. I could turn myself into a waifu with just half of my powers.
Elijah Ortiz
Welcome to Squad 8. We take anyone with a pulse.
Blake King
yeah well, you still can't mass rez servants... infact, want to make our groups into one team? I think our powers could be handy in making condiment king-tiers actually useful
Squad 8 assemble! Raindancer Manipulates nature to create floods. Not skilled at all though, it takes ages for enough rain to create a flood and usually does more harm than good. After overflooding a drought-strick African county, Raindancer decided to stay at home and stick to gardening.
Icemachine Technically can use an infinite amount of ice machine in a finite amount of time. That "finite" time is still millenia though, and so he usually just chills people's drinks and keeps his overclocked computer cool.
Antiquake Antiquake is able to literally fight earthquakes into submission. Unfortunately for him, the earthquakes never last long enough for him to use his powers. He keeps an alert app on his phone just in case though.
Lifesmith (Leader) The leader of the motley crew, Lifesmith can create living creatures out of pure light energy. Unfortunately he finds those creatures boring company and instead hangs out with a bunch of incompetent "super"heroes. He could probably conquer the world if he cared.
Dragonman Since birth, Dragonman has been able to copy the forms and powers of dragons. Well, he knows he can do it, but he has yet to find an actual dragon.
Sickle After a routine lab accident, Sickle discovered that he could command mold to take the form of a throwable shield. Ineffective in combat, Sickle instead pranks the rest of the team by spoiling their food.
So I can ignite things within a certain radius around me? Sounds pretty good, although I get hard countered by fire resistance. All heroes will learn to fear the might of the Broiler.
Brayden Bell
I prefer to think of us as a squad of Inspector Gadgets - varying levels of superpowers but utterly incompetent. Somehow manage to scrape through because Cantrip or Lifesmith do the right thing at the right time, or one of the other heroes turns out useful in an extremely specific situation (Sickle incapacitates a supervillain allergic to mold, Antiquake fights his rival the Quaker).

>Squad 9 Jesus, this is a mess. Powerful mess, but still a mess.
