for Custodian Wardens (elite troops)
Bringers of the Emperors Justice (1CP) should have been a baseline ability (hit rolls of 6+ generate an additional hit)
Ever Vigilant (2CP) should have been a baseline ability (if a unit sets up with 12" shoot it at -1 to hit)
for Allarus Custodians (terminators)
Concussion Grenades (1CP) should have been a baseline ability (alternate weapon profile for the grenade launcher units hit cant overwatch and are -1 to hit)
Inescapable Vengance (2CP) should have been a baseline ability (unit can target shooting at characters even if not closest)
For Custodian Guard (troops)
Indomitable Guardians (1CP) should have been a baseline ability (interrupt in the combat phase and attack first if within 3" of an objective)
The Strategem Victor of the Blood Games (reroll a to hit, to wound and a save each player turn) should have been a warlord trait (also the reroll to hit is pointless on all the captains anyways)
There is a Relic of Terra that is missing

I only agree that Wardens should have more to distinguish themselves.
Shields should also be a better option because a 3++ over 4++ is not worth it when you lose all the spears abilities and you pay more. I guess you can shoot the blade in melee but it's just a double shot bolt pistol.

New player here, what are the uses for gargoyles in the tyranid codex? They can deepstrike within shooting distance and reroll 1 to wound if they are +20, you can use Scorching bugs to have that sweet +1 to wound but they still have BS 4+ and the weapon is Assault 1 AP 0 D1, without being able to equip devourers nor toxin sacs, still at 6 points a piece, am I missing something? They seem way too fragile for hit and run tactits (even with 12" movement) as they will get blown out of the sky as soon as they get shot. Are they just objective holders?

They're fast objective holders. Keep them in reserve and drop them onto an objective that they can score. Don't ever rely on them to kill shit. At best they can use their speed to charge heavy weapons to occupy them for a turn.

Thanks, I am trying to figure out how I could use the 10 from the old SC box that I got. Don't seem to be worth much for small games and such and also thinking if it was worth expanding to a full 30 bug squad (they are fucking hard to paint with the wings all over the way)

Hair is easy, just do it one colour, wash, and highlight. It's the same as everything else but relies incredibly on the highlights.
Faces are difficult but the above method works for tabletop quality.

My archons are all converted, I've got 10 converted grotesques from rat ogres (and 10 from blighted ogrun), I don't paint the internal hull but do paint all the rest. And I don't combine my wych and kabalites because that'd be silly

To be fair, a decently experienced player should be able to ballpark passably well, and some units make it really obvious something isn't right. In this case Allarus which aren't nearly worth 30 points over vanilla custard.
Give them a 4++ and make their grenade launcher S6 and they'd be pretty much spot on worth their current price.
My only complaint about the new dex are :
- The lack of flat Damage value for Custodes weapons
- No option for shields and swords on Wardens
- Expensive Land Raider
The army also lacks some solid anti-tank weapons but I will wait for 30k units to be playable before bitching about that.
