Could some kindly user toss the datasets for Oggdude's chargen up on volafile or something? I'd like something a bit more usable than "Refer to page XX" to reference at the table.
Joseph Gomez
Press F to pay respects.
Is it bad if I’m stealing them both for an AoR game?
Luke Wilson
Yes, but to quote Arnie in Twins, "it's good to be bad."
Isaiah Rogers
Does anyone have any cool, funny, or interesting ideas for X-wing alt art cards? Either Pilots or upgrades.
I'm looking for ideas/making requests.
Zachary Gray
I'm looking for the perspective of someone who has played against a lot of Wookiees/ with a lot of Wookiees in X-wing-
How do you kill them?
According to my calculations, it takes an average of 38 focused 3-dice shots to kill 4 of them. That's 3 defenders shooting them every single turn for 13 turns, never losing a ship or missing a shot- These things seem way to hard to kill. In comparison, anything else would melt to that many shots from a Glaive.
What scares them? How do you kill them?
don't get me started with TIE fighters- that is 103 shots to kill the 4, and that seems absurd
Bentley Stewart
Poe, but it’s him and Holdo doing the football bit from Charlie Brown.
Elijah Nguyen
Is the Battle of Coruscant a typical capital ship engagement in the sense of vessels slugging it out with broadsides as they pass each other, not unlike Jutland (though Coruscant overall seems like Trafalgar)?
Juan Reed
Do we have a visual representation of what harpoon torpedoes look lie? Specifically in Star Wars
Ryder Garcia
So Holdo's face on lucy's body, charlie brown with Poe's head?
I take it in the middle of charlie brown being midair?
Here's the card- You can zoom in to see- It looks like a barbed missile that bores into the ship.
Justin Gray
Yeah, basically that.
Grayson Collins
>Why aren't you playing as a Kel Dor, you schutta? Because I'm a GM, but I plan on two of my players' master at Luke's Praxeum to be a Kel Dor, because Kel Dor are best species.
If it is, I don't want to be right. I plan on copying her for my Legends Imperial Civil War-era campaign.
Jeremiah Fisher
Dark Greetings!
Angel Adams
I thinks it's one of those rules that's there to help players out by providing RAW to counter rigid GMs (i.e. GMs who don't say "Yes" to modifying/adding to described environments to allow players to do cool things.)
Ryan Powell
If the Supremacy just had Eclipse-style interdiction tech built in and they technobabbled a reason that switching the wells either off or back on took a few seconds and registered on sensors the OJ Simpson chase would have worked fine without the obvious question of why they didn't use hyperspace to encircle them.
Elijah Powell
Is the book about the battle of Jakku any good? The author seems like a cunt, so I'm rather hesitant about whether it will be money well spent
Cameron Lewis
Oh no. No no no no no. It's better than his first books leading UP to Jakku, but that's the lowest bar in SW fiction bmsince the first Aftermath book makes Crystal Star look like high literature.
Carter Davis
Dude, instead of mulling it over and overt just take the easy way and forget that the ST exists
Joshua Brooks
It took over a decade to properly establish EU canon and make it good, and about as long to absorb the Prequel Trilogy stuff. It'll take close to ten years of spitballing to get the new canon stuff into working state.
Carter Diaz
Why not worst girl? >You no call Rose? Why you no call, its only a war and you getting fat Rose, stop eating those chocolate hoojibs. >Rose, we try soooo hard to do the best for you, then you become mechanic. No good, why you hate us Rose?
Colton Hill
The wrong sister died.
Gabriel Myers
Couldn't you kill them with something that does not permit Defense results to be used?
Easton Price
Got Planetary Security Force squadron or ace ideas to share?
PCs are going to crash a Corsin Retreat type weekend (Imperial Era), need flavor, inspo, and hooks I guess?
Matthew Turner
Jedi sentinel who's been working undercover for so long he didn't get the memo that the jedi order collapsed.
Liam Smith
Aka Bombs and Autoblaster? Both require getting very close, and good wookiees don't fly in formation.
Oliver Morales
They have some ex-clone war gear for their soldiers - some ages and highly decorated helmets and such. They actually belonged to the original Clone squads who trained the local PD forces, most of whom died in defence of the planet or peacefully in the years after.
Either way, the top aces of the local flying groups still wear the same helmets, each one adding a new small decoration to them in honour of the clones who died for their world.
Cameron Martin
Bump
Brody Perry
I think so. From what I've read the battle of coruscant was orchestrated by palpatine to hide his true nature as a sith from the Jedi by having the sith backed CIS capture him and cost the CIS a lot of war assets in a massive slug fest that would drain them off assets they couldn't replace after losing their holdings in everywhere from the core to most of he mid rim.
Julian Reyes
So, where does everyone stand on the Great Star Wars Scale/Power level Debate?
Nathan Bailey
Harpoon-missile carrying aces, Fenn Rau. You won't kill them all, but you can fuck 1-2 of them and win on time.
The Reinforce means you need to take out stuff that is effective against ag 3/4 ships.
Adam Richardson
Omega Leader and Carnor (although Carnor will have to maneuver around them)?
Also the obvious answer: Bombs
Ryder Butler
Below Star Trek but above Halo and Mass Effect around equal to 40K and Starcraft
Juan Roberts
Hardline WEG minimalist here, small fleets, small galaxy, small weapons, big heroes.
Juan Ortiz
How do you fix Rose?
Daniel Cooper
She dies in the timeskip between 8 and 9.
Juan White
Give her a halfway-decent haircut.
Kevin Harris
Remove the character. She was entirely unnecessary.
Christopher Sanders
Replace her with her ninja elf assassin sister
Parker Brooks
>Break into a stable >Ask the slave children not to press the alarm >Steal a bunch of horse foxes >Undergo a chase through the city riding the horse foxes with the police hot in pursuit >Eventually release them into the wild >For all she and Finn knew, they failed their mission >"Now it was worth it," she says as she frees the last horse fox >"Now it was worth it," she says, after likely failing their mission, the Resistance fleet being destroyed as a result, those horse foxes are probably just going to be recaptured, and the slave children are probably being savagely beaten right now because of Rose's antics.
Benjamin Adams
Swap her out with Paige.
Cameron Ross
Wouldn't that bomb bay thing be useful for fighter deployment?
Basically, you have them on a rack or something and literally drop them out of the ship, not unlike Starfuries in B5
This movie overall has a very "small steps" approche to heroics, emphasizing that "real heroes" look out for the little guy, but that falls apart in light of the whole GALAXY SPANNING WAR! Cynical as it sounds on the surface losses for the greater good are a thing, the deaths of the bomber pilots are nearly as tragic as the terrible design of the slow ass things but ultimately it was a worth while trade to take down the dreadnought, and yet the movie constantly dwells on the little pictures
Nathaniel Reyes
No Metzen, we don't need you to shit up Star Wars like you shitted up every major franchise Blizzard own until Overwatch. We already have people who have that task well in hand.
Julian Brown
asian women are real-life elves, they don't age normally
Eli Miller
>How do you fix Rose?
In respect to what? In respect to Finn? Get rid of the moralizing aspects of her character. In respect to the plot? Rejiggle the plot so that Canto Bight actually matters or get rid of it entirely.
Carson Thompson
>"Don't fight to destroy the ones you hate, fight to protect the ones you love!" >*sounds of people you love being blown up* What a dumb fat bitch.
Wyatt Perry
Basically make the movie less small minded
Elijah Nelson
I'm just starting out in X-Wing and all I have for Rebs is an X-Wing and a B-Wing.
Should I get a Millenium Falcon, Heroes of the Resistance or Rebel Aces next?
Owen Harris
Heroes of the Resistance is probably the best option, the vanilla Falcon is kinda underwhelming. Rebel Aces isn't bad but B-wings and A-wings are kinda frustrating to play these days.
Hunter Hughes
Now there isn't any room to dock the resistance bombers.
Joseph Harris
Cool, thanks. I wanted to get the Outrider but it seems to be a rarity these days.
Aiden Cox
Oh, yeah, that makes sense.
Easton Morales
I'm still bummed ;_;
Lucas Ramirez
Metzen would try to insert his orcfus into SW desu.
Jeremiah Turner
> "real heroes" look out for the little guy,
That entire message falls apart when Finn and Rose release the fucking alien space horses and do nothing about the child-slaves on Canto Bight.
Jonathan Thomas
...
Matthew Carter
I agree, again the movie is very small minded and misses the forest for the trees constantly
Camden Rodriguez
Yeah, when they hit 60 age hits them like a bus.
Wyatt Green
Why didn't the kids ride the horses? They're apparently made to sleep in their fuckin stables already.
Austin Cook
A PDF that is made up of repurposed CIS battle droids and Clone Wars vets. Have the vets be distrustful of the droids, but the droids are used only in dire circumstances.
Angel Ramirez
Get whatever ships look cool honestly. With enough practice, you can make almost any ship combination workable.
What do you want to fly? How do you want to fly?
Luis Reed
Their MREs are highly sought after by neighboring planets, milsurp enthusiasts, and visiting units from the current galactic power. The canned nerf stew ration is the stuff of legends and the instant coffee mix somehow rivals even the finest off-world gourmet coffees in flavor.
Andrew Bennett
But can you get it all out onto a tray?
Adam Ward
>tfw Rogue 1 was hamstrung by a generic plot and wooden characters
Imagine that level of starfighter porn with a better script
Connor Carter
No need to imagine, user. Chris Roberts has you covered.
Christopher Howard
Well half of it was reshot and the disks suspiciously lack deleted scenes and commentary tracks, so I'm guessing there was creative conflict with the Disney moffs, leading to the commity designed "market friendly" film we got
I don't think that's what they were talking about.
Alexander Reed
I plan on giving people Old Republic or even Sith trooper style uniforms and armor. They look pretty damn neat.
Ethan Morris
The entire squadron is flying heavily retrofitted Pinooks. Only reason the security force does as well as it does is because a retired 181st pilot is their leader, and has them constantly running combat drills.
Jaxson Brown
i think it should have been some kind of hommage to podracing, and to slave-kids forced to ride ostrich in araby
Hunter Green
What is your reaction to the fact that Joe Johnston is quoted as saying that ESB is more of a George Lucas picture than an Irvin Kershner picture?
Nathan Martin
TPM already established that slave chips are a thing, "freeing" them probably would have killed them.
Justin Allen
I have no reaction. I think the distinction is pointless.
Jace Bailey
>ST acknowledging anything from PT
Mason Evans
It's not like they don't have a master codebreaker around who could slice these systems.
Benjamin Roberts
Uh... they didn't. They don't meet DJ until after they were arrested.
Julian Walker
>TFA directly mentions how they should have used clone armies >TLJ calls out Darth Sidious by name and the failure of the Jedi of the prequels >JJ mentions that IX will have material from the prequels
Parker Powell
They release the horses after DJ busts them out.
Christian Johnson
I do think there's an element of JJ and co really not liking the PT, but I also think the shift back to an (poor) attempt at a more OT like atmosphere is more out of the creators nostalgia that PT hatred.
Lucas Sanchez
Abrams was so triggered by the prequels that he had them digitally redo Maz's castle when someone added podracing flags from tpm in the exterior shots.
Michael Perry
Right, but he wasn't with them. He was stealing a ship with BB-8 unbeknownst to Finn and Rose.
For them to free the slaves, you're suggesting they go BACK after escaping and somehow convince DJ to do them this favor pro bono while the Resistance fleet is running out of fuel.
Justin Evans
That's projecting pretty hard. All we know is the flags were in the trailer, and were different in the final cut.
Austin Brooks
this is pointless hatred it's stupid to disregard the entirety of the prelogy just because at the end of the day, it was mediocre the podracing was pretty cool, and so was sheev, the clone war anime, the idea of the jedi and the republic being incompetent at their jobs, etc i for one would like to see more references to the prelogy, if just so the star wars verse feel more coherent, as well because we're reaching saturation of OT elements for all its bads, the prelogy tried at least to go away from the plot of the OT, evil empire versus underdog good rebels
Henry Long
You kidding me? Star Wars powerscales are way above Trek, Trek's one of the lowest, and I say this as a big Trek fan. I'd but 40k above everyone though, because they operate on a gigantic scale. I think their regular Battle Barge is like Imperial command ship sized.
Luis Foster
>mediocre I think it's the opposite. Some of my favorite moments in SW are in the PT, but they (especially AotC and RotS) are barely ducktaped together. They are bursting at the seams, and they are sometimes slapdash, but I treasure them as much as the OT. They're uneven as hell. To be fair though, in my opinion the same thing applies to ANH.
Jaxson Gutierrez
I know that feel. Lots of cool shit in the PT, with some abismal work ductaping it all in a coherent mess.
Gabriel Torres
You are kind of missing the point here. Rian Johnson could have written a scene or jiggled events where they go together to break out the horses out and free the kids. But that is not the point.
The point is he totally misses the entire moral or I should say immoral aspect of Finn and Rose doing nothing for the kid-slaves while breaking out the animals implying a) one group is more worthy freedom than another or b) that while they should worry about animals, they should turn a blind eye to child slavery.
That is just fucked up either way.
Owen Morgan
I'd put 40k and Star Wars nearly exactly equal, unless you count how retarded nucanon is.
Kevin Bailey
That's not what projecting means
Jason Roberts
This discussion is pointless considering Star Wars ships don't even fit into the same power scale in neither legends nor nucanon.
Bentley Campbell
And Lucas could have written a scene where Obi-wan and Qui-gon free all the slaves on Tatooine. You're manufacturing a problem with the narrative where there isn't one.
Jayden Gonzalez
People have castigated Lucas enough for the slavery thing for 18 years already. We don't need to repeat that for your entertainment.
