What's your favorite star wars monster, do you/your group have any cool encounters with monsters?

an user in the last thread also asked an interesting question...

1) You are now a high ranking Imperial figure. With this, naturally, comes a generous budget. Describe to the rest of us anons how you equip your force, how you customize your uniform, your fleet, and your ground troops/ personal guard.

My doctrine would be one based on offensive fortifications. In ground war no army group or battalion advances in grand, set-piece charges but coldly and methodically fortified the battlefield in a forwards facing manner until an enemy army has no where else to move. At least that would be the theory of doctrine.

Uniforms are standard imperial, in my opinion you cannot beat Hugo Boss marries BEF. I would insist on beefing up stormtrooper armor though, disposable troops who know they’re disposable aren’t prone to heroism.

Personal guard would be a droideka if we can get our hands on it. Otherwise the usual looking cloaked polearm wielders though of course the cloak would conceal all number of other deadly goodies. Plus let’s make the polearm double as a ranged weapon as well, just for kicks.

Space? Update those Venators please. Just refit them, they are pure sex.

Been fiddling around with a squad builder app. I just ordered myself a Slave and also Boba's ship nyuck and I have three TIEs.

"Howlrunner"(20) ["Howlrunner"(18), Swarm Tactics(2)]

"Mauler Mithel"(18) ["Mauler Mithel"(17), Determination(1)]

"Dark Curse"(19) ["Dark Curse"(16), Stealth Device(3)]

Krassis Trelix(43) [Krassis Trelix(36), Mercenary Copilot(2), Autoblaster(5)]

How badly am I gonna get trashed if I take this to a game shop?

When we are getting a FFG Empire based RPG?

>I think they're distinct enough.
JJ pls go

I've read and heard about people using the decimator and "orbiting" a large rock during a match and having that be good enough for them. Does anyone know how you do this? I can't figure out for the life of me which moves (and in what order) would make this work

>aliens and monsters were attacking his place

hard banks are 90degree and soft are 45, so as long as you initially line it up right then you should be able to use the two sharp to orbit a large asteroid

I'm seeing Kannan/Fenn or Ghost/Fenn lists popping up online a lot. How do you deal with these two ships? I'm having trouble thinking up a gameplan that would work out in my favor.

Thanks, that's so much simpler than I was making it

What kind of shuttle is this fellow shipfags?

For fuck sake user, it's in your filename.

You forgot a vital image when making your post

I was asking if it had a specific classification, I know its name.

It's basically just a mini lambda shuttle with a tiny crew compliment and 2-3 laser cannons

If I get rid of the Padme on the side, could it be some Moff's personal ride?

I'd be a Captain of the line, leading an anti piracy task force of three Gozanti and two raiders.

From the bridge I'd wear a normal imperial officers outfit, white if I could for that rank and if I had to go ground-side I'd use the Tank trooper outfit with a Kama and dark green unit marking. All units assigned to my command would have green unit marking and my bodyguards (2-3 guys) would also wear the tank trooper style armor with beach helmets.

>Raider 1: task force command vessel, Raider II hull (with hanger), two tie boarding craft, storm-trooper contingent, Ion weaponry load-out
>Raider 2: base raider load-out, equipped for anti fighter duty,
>Gozanti 1+2: 4 interceptors per ship plus supplies and support crew
>Gozanti 3: 4 tie bombers loaded with seismic charges, plus supplies and support crew

/gengen/ here. How's it going?

That pic's from the new lore scrapbook thing, right? Anybody got a scan of it?

yes, this is the only image I have, an user shopped the scout and tank trooper together

I still think the (non-TCW) phase 1 clone armor is the sexiest in Star Wars with the POSSIBLE exception of Boba Fett's armor.

I swear the only think keeping me into commander is the lack of an RTS with this good a unit roster

Probably stupid question incoming:
If a Sith gets their strength from their passions, can their passions just be something totally mundane? Like, they're REALLY passionate about art, and that passion motivates them through life to create the best art they can, turn whatever it is they come across into an art form?
If it's purely emotion based, can they take passion from something not negative? Like taking passion in altruism or something? Or are they just always doomed to fall, someone with a passion for art becoming like a Dark Eldar and turning murder into an art form or someone with altruism ending up attempting to go full dictator to enforce the best life?

I'm not trying to make some snowflake Mary Sue "I'm good but can shoot lightning!" character before you ask, I'm just curious.

Chumbalaya, I seek your guidance! (Or anyone that wants to give advice)

I'm flying 2 TIE/x7 Deltas and Blackout (Optics/push/asensors/autos/title) and I'm wondering how to leverage the deltas. You flew something similar at Krayt cup- any advice? The games I won were the games where blackout got behind stuff and glued himself to its ass. The deltas kind of just were kind of there.

Any advice on keeping them alive, with tokens, and not getting arc-dodged?

In legacy there was a mural made buy a sith artist, he had his apprentice kill him on it so his dark energy could become one with his work, as a result it's one of Darth Talons favorite meditation spots

This was the schtick of the legacy Sith Darth Vectivus. There is precedent.

>If a Sith gets their strength from their passions
You're forgetting the second bit.
>the Sith rely on their passion for their strength. They think inward, only about themselves.

This, the sith code can on the surface seem appealing as it espouses freedom but it only does so on personal freedom, and expects you to be willing to trample others under foot in the name of that personal freedom, while we do always need to care for ourselves, a code built on selfishness alone is doomed to fail

Eh? It's a lot of different moving parts. Try out this maybe- it's simpler and hits harder for the Ties-

Howlrunner, Mauler Mithel, Scourge- All with Crack Shot. It's 55 points.

Alternatively, downgrade those non-howlrunner pilots to Black Squadron pilots. Or Howlrunner and

For Krassis, you want to use either a Heavy Laser cannon, or a Mangler cannon. His crew is probably going to be either something like a Recon Specialist, a rebel captive, or Kylo.

Either give him Slave 1 and LRS, or Andrasta and bomblet generator.

Starting with one ship/group that you want to use first-do you want to build around the Firespray or TIEs?

You were the guy that wanted to have a big ship that hangs back and small ones that rush in, right? I'm assuming you didn't like my Lambda+2 defender list from last night?

The best way to learn is try. Practice putting down the rocks, getting into the rock ring, and orbiting. It's a skill that you will have to pick up. The hard turn is your friend.

Same TCW animation really ruins the look of it, I do think its some of the best in star wars.

The secret sauce for Ghost/fenn lists is the Engine upgrade combined with Sensor Jammer and Hotcop. They can boost from r3 to r1, and do it at PS 11. Fenn needs to die, without your own list taking damage. Without Kanan dead, they can bank boost past a blocker via coordinate and R1 shoot it out the back. Kanan is slow as fuck though, and the ghost hauls ass.

If you can get it so that fenn is between you and the ghost, you can kill him and bully the ghost with your superior ship count. Remember- you can't stop the boost, but he only boosts forwards.

The rest of the tactics depends on who is piloting/crewing the Ghost. If maul+Ezra+lothal, stress control should be applied to Fenn. If Focus-horde kanan, stress him out. Chopper and Hera I am unsure of.

I like the TCW phase 2 helmets because they stuck close to the RotS look. The TCW phase 1 helmets were very flanderized versions of the AotC helmets.

>Kanan is slow as fuck though, and the ghost hauls ass.
Just to clarify, did you mean that Fenn is the slow one?

Fenn is slow as fuck, yeah. I get all of the adults on that show's names mixed up.

In summary

Big ship go fast, must go forward. Little ship slow. Get little ship in position with no big ship between it and you. Kill little ship and then harass big ship. Do not let big ship look at you.

The only cool looking character in TFA is also the only one with significant prequel design DNA.

I don't know why thy pushed Phasma instead of this guy if they really had to meme another Boba Fett into existence.

They pushed her because Kennedy so her concept art and liked it, saying that she has to be in it, that dude is pretty cool, he's got a stoken kaleesh warmask

The Crimson Corsair short story was pretty dope too.

Of course the one with some Prequel blood in him looked the coolest. Pic related.
... But seriously that looks way fucking cooler than Phasma, why isn't that guy a Stormie Commando, you could even have them be played by the same actress if you really wanted.

Mine probably has to be the Havoc squad armor from SWTOR. Goddamn, do I love it.

I like it, but maybe as Clone armor or something. It seems weird as ancient armor.

The old Tales of the Jedi comics did get the baroque nature of what an ancient, but still high technology, civilization should look like. In my opinion.

Oh yeah, definitely doesn't fit the time period at all, but it's a great design.

Personally, I'm using it as New Republic commando armor in my campaign.

I wonder if an Imperium ship design philosophy would work in Star Wars (eg, heavily armored prow with large broadside batteries to slug it out), since broadside to broadside brawls seem fairly common in Star Wars (Endor, Coruscant)

Possibly. It's a pretty solid design philosophy. Only real difference between 40k and Star Wars space warfare are the distances involved. Other amusing thing is that imperium ships have the super heavy prow, and ramming your capital ship through an enemy ship isn't something that's done in Star Wars, so that would definitely catch people off guard

So Holdo was originally an Imperium commander, then?

Also since it was asked in the last thread, if I was to rip off any other faction from outside of Star Wars, it would either be Cylons or the Imperium of Man.

I'd have the Cylons be the CIS Droid Army going self-aware, while Imperium would be a post-Endor Warlord group that worships Sheev as a God-like figure and actually maintains a difference between Stormtroopers (Space Marines) and Imperial Army (Imperial Guard)

>incompetent
>rude to her underlings
>got entire fleet killed for basically nothing
>fancy clothes that shouldn't be worn in an actual war zone
>arrogant

...you might actually have something there user

Not a bad idea actually. Plus add in the xenophobic stance the Empire and imperium share, it'd be an interesting evolution of empire to imperium. Worshipping the powerful Emperor, who wielded vast, unimaginable powers, searching for citizens who share that power and either killing them to ensure their power doesn't become uncontrollable or enslaving them to fight against the traitors who killed their emperor. A lot of pretty good parallels

Agreed. I think TOR's armors should have been something closer to KotOR's. They are somewhat antique, almost ceremonial, but still sleek enough for blaster wielding troops and most importantly different from the designs in the movies.

My biggest problem with the ST is the boring design language. For all of Rogue One's problems, they created new ships and costumes and props that didn't just riff off of existing designs, but still felt grounded in the universe. I can't think of many vehicles or characters in the old EU or the sequel trilogy that manage that.

Also Horus as Vader, obviously.

Sith armor was. Republic soldiers just had jumpsuits with Alderaanian(?) helmets

Star wars capital ships act as ships-of-the-line, but IN SPACE.

40k ships act like submarines IN SPACE, but with added focuses on ramming.

>40k ships act like submarines IN SPACE, but with added focuses on ramming.
Huh? They're as pure ships-of-the-line as you can get in sci-fi.

You're right. I sort of assumed it was originally Republic gear but since all the "real" soldiers with the good equipment defected with Revan the Republic was left with the lighter and older stuff.

The engagement ranges that they use, combined with the way that they fight stuff (in-lore, not video games) consists mostly of waiting for stuff to show up in scanners and then firing torpedoes and waiting several minutes to shoot again.

I always figured the Sith armor was built by the Starforge

The ships like the Interdictors and Centurions were Republic, the armor was Star Forge built though.

Ah, that makes sense.

Well it looks like I won't be going to Regionals as the family I was gonna stay with got infected with the flu :/

Does anyone have any implausible war stories about the rebellion? Bonus points for having both how it goes in the story and what actually happened.

Pic related.
Chiefly the bit where the Rebellion got it from being the guy's family crest.
Of course the actual story is that the Rebellion's logo was drawn by an artistic protege who was also a Mandalorian princess who wielded a black lightsaber that looked like a sword, which is much more reasonable.

I haven't watched much Rebels. Is that truly what happened?

Not really. The Firebird isn't something that she came up with, it's stated that she got the idea for it from another artist.

She's also A) not a princess, and B) only wielded the darksaber for a short amount of time, before giving it up.

She also has her own spray painted TIE fighter and is a demolitions master who built a doomsday machine for the Empire but sabotaged it because she felt bad about it.
I was so excited for a Mando-fu, too.

After all the good guys specs are done. I think warrior source book is the only one left

Every time I see that pic, I think of youtube.com/watch?v=XRMUYpH7bQk

She is the daughter of the leader of Clan Wren.

Daughter of a noble house =/= princess. Highest ranked mando was styled Duchess.

She's very much a Disney Princess, regardless of political station.

Which doesn't really make her a princess. It's a subservient clan to a larger house.

As said, the highest ranked Mandalorian leader we know about in canon was a duchess. At best, she's the equivalent of a baroness or vidame.

Given she's not actually a princess and is never referred to one at any point, no.

I think she's sort of cute. Does Ezra man up regarding her?

Doesn't Rebels have a Mand'alore, making them the highest ranked Mando we know of?

Do you think making the Mandalorians a pussified kiwi matriarchy is Filoni's idea or the story group's?

Bo-Katan Kryze is the current Mand'alor and wielder of the Darksaber, although they haven't really tapped into that yet. Rebels probably won't since the series looks to be wrapping up on Lothal.

Future books/comics might though

I don't think explicitly no. They've discussed the concept of uniting the clans under a leader but a name or even a formal description of that station hasn't been given. But Sabine never wanted to be supreme commander, she passed it off to Bo Katan.

She's like the Mando Lady of the Lake, she found the magic sword and threw it at somebody.

Who here is /baturem/

It's actually something that George started, so neither.

Is this quest finishable in the vanilla game? I got a lead pointing to Nar Shadda and never found anything in regards to him.

I like Satine...

It's better than them being warmongering assholes since the dawn of time. TCW showing some have enough of getting wrecked because of shit they start over nothing was a good idea.

But now they're literally nothing more than just any other civilization in the galaxy. They're pretty much just Alderaan with a different accent and a planet.

Why they can’t just be a normal civilization with a proud warrior heritage and willingness to slap a bitch if they start shit rather than either pussies or psycho nursed hobos is beyond me.

They still have the hardliners who went into exile and kind of reverted back to their old ways, but at least there was a progression of sorts instead of them being constantly bellicose.

That's... not really true. Never mind the fact that they were only not warmongering assholes for a couple centuries, that ended during the Clone Wars and they've been bringing more and more back from their Legends history in Rebels, including the Supercommandos working for the Empire.

Unfortunately no, and they were unable to conclude it in the TSLRCM either.

The reason for this is that apparently the not!Batu was supposed to be a member of the GenoHaradan, and that questline was supposed to pick up on Nar Shaddaa. Since the entire GenoHaradan questline was cut from Nar Shaddaa (and presumably replaced with the Goto questline), the trace leads to nowhere.

I think there's a mod that was in development to restore the Genoharadan quests as best they can with new VOs

Also the Mandos warred themselves so hard they blew a fucking planet in half. Realizing you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself is not bad.

Most of the time they're maneuvering to broadsides to fire macrocannons; this is true in the lore as well as the games.

this is my character for force and destiny

oc btw

Tattooine's mostly hard rock minus the Dune Sea, twin suns, minimal Imperial presence, stone buildings with farmsteads and a few centralized cities/towns, with two nomadic sentient species as indigenous.
Jakku's primarily sand, single sun, has its primary method of income be gutting Imperial gubbins, and seem to have primarily shantytowns and trading posts with seemingly no sentient life native to the planet.
It's about as close to Tattooine in a literal sense as Jedha is (Jedha arguably moreso), but the fact the two have the same level of narrative importance/placement makes it seem closer to our favorite Sandbox.

People have mentioned it in the past but having Gozantis with permanent TIEs attached is actually a pretty shit idea logistically, especially if you're running something as tiny as you're describing.

Road to hell is paved with good intentions and whatnot, certainly altruistic/morally decent to neutral goals can push the dark side, but the DS is still ultimately about the accumulation of power and using to manipulate "force"fully (hue) the Force/Things within the force for your own needs.

My man, there's no defending it. Jakku is just the Tatooine expy in JJ's ANH adaptation. Nothing more. Somewhere for the rebel droid carrying the secret files to meet the MC.

Severian?

i dont see any problems

The tank trooper and scout trooper are perfect as they are.

I know this isn't exactly the right place, but which TOR story is better between smuggler and bounty hunter?

>with the POSSIBLE exception of Boba Fett's armor
Jango's is better.
