NPCs are non-marines, which Custodes players are insistant that they are different from, so by their own admission, yes.

but user, cawl isn't an apc and he's a beep boop man not a marine

Cuckstodes for 2nd

He's coming back

Nth for best angels

Cawl is an asspull to explain big marines with. He's just a character of another NPC faction.

Are their any books on Cawl I should be reading? Outside of gathering storm, I have no idea what he's been up to.

you do realize he was INTRODUCED in the gathering storm right? there is nothing else

How close are the Mechanicus and chapters like the Iron Warriors?

im pretty sure he's at least mentioned in dark imperium and that bobby g book. he's basically be killing shit during the new crusade

So was Greyfax and she's had her own book. You'd figure being part of the imperial triumvirate, he'd be up to something during the indominitus crusade

depends on the chapter. shit like the iron hands and their successors are super close with the admech.

Custodes getting enhanced Primaris'd Super Companions when?

They need Prime Valdor to come back and be a primarch level monsterous character for the never ending Imperial Soup.

this game would be more fun if everyone played marines.

I don't even know if I'm wrong.

So what are some decent 8th lists for dangles? I've had best success with plasma gun lines so far. Death wing list have had a couple good games, but not good at winning. My bikes and landspeeders seem to just drive fast and die.

>What is horus heresy
Even HH added non-marine factions cause that shit gets stale. Xenos is the spice of life.

There's some fluff in the AdMech 8th Ed codex, but that's really it.

Marines lack the ability for glass hammers/cannons and horde armies. Both of which I've found playing as/against entertaining.

Squats literally came back before Vect. From now on when a faction or sub faction is in danger of going extinct we will call it "getting Vected".

I for one can't wait for Slaanesh to get Vected.

How would tournaments be if the following rule was accepted and added?
Armies may not include more than three(3) of the same units(datasheets). This does not apply to Troop choices.

playing against horde suck.

playing against a few unit of marines that barrel towards you and your dudes is fun.

He appeared in some 30k art at the Weekender apparently.

Punished Valdor, a hero denied his Emperor, should be exciting.
Valoris may not be a showstopper but Valdor 2.0 will be silly.

feel like it should be less, give people even more reason to take larger blobs of units instead of just msu all the time.

Combine green/raven/deathwing and spam plasma, jink your bikes in big squads and threaten with a raven/deathwing double charge

Wiping out a horde of 30 Boyz is satisfying.

then you realize theres like 170 more and they all need to have their movement phase.

nah the new one is bretconned.

I've no problem with that. Something I liked about WarmaHordes was the field allowance restriction on certain models.

Are there any flat this-is-ultramarines base color I could use? Even from another supplier like at Hobby Lobby or something? I'm really new to painting and have been messing with the calgar and macragge colors for eons. My entire army is either too bright or too dark nomatter how middleground I try to get it.

Who does that even hurt?
Dark Reapers? I think those tend to be 3 units max.

Just looks like a fun sinker, hurts things like dread danceoffs and biker bash

Still the same. Eldarfags still gonna spam Dark Reapers like a motherfuckers.

Can 1 alarus really do that or was it all bullshit?

As someone who hasn't played for quite a while, what is it that makes Dark Reapers so good? The 'Always hit on 3+' stuff? As I know people are going super hard on attack penalty stuff where they can.

They are cheap as fuck, their weapons super hurt. Yinnary soup makes them even deadlier.

I like using Kantor blue for my dudes. It's a little darker than most blues, but it comes out real nice

Depends on the chapter. The Dark Hunters hate the AdMech because their homeworld got attacked by a rogue AdMech warlord.

Meanwhile, chapters like the Iron Hands and their successors worship according to the Cult Mechanicus, or in the case of the Sons of Medusa specifically, even get involved in their doctrinal schisms.

Could use some rules guidance. With the Mutalith's auras buffing based on the Tzeentch keyword, would his buffs also apply to codex: Daemons tzeentch daemons? Tempted to try a Mutalith and some 1k sons stuff as a support for a tzeentch daemons army with the mutalith adding further buffs to stuff link pink horror shooting.

Have you watched the Warhammer TV videos for how to paint Ultramarines? I can't really think of any source more "this-is-ultamarines" than GW themselves with easy-to-follow steps.

I believe you mean "Bretconned"

What are you anons working on tonight?
I'm hanging up the brush for today since I have an interview for a promotion tomorrow.

Yes.

That's lewd as fuck... Nice work user

Congrats you glorious bastard.

yes. anything with the relevant keyword regardless of faction gets the buff.

>Best looking basic troops in the game

Right. So it's less any particular rule and more just being really competitively priced, thanks. I wasn't really sure.

Hardly cheap as fuck.

One Allarus took down 20 Assault Marines and a Chapter Master in a game I played so

What is with Tau being called communists? Reading through their lore, except everyone sacrificing for greater good, their political and society system don't resemble communism at all.

Weird colours for blood angels.

>she's had her own book
She did? Which one?

Just finished converting a spare Artemis into a Watch Master (thank god for spare Custode spears), now to finish my killteams

It's collectivist and communitarian, which for idiots automatically brings communism to mind.

>except for their defining trait that resembles communism how are they similar to communists

Dunno

How viable is ravager disintegrator spam vs custodes?

9 shots per boat, wounding on 4s, best they can do is a 4++, 2 damage per wound.

They're more Legalists than Communists.

no mod hiting on +3, being inari, but still being able to use craftworld stratagems. being able to msu are be run in large 10 units. ton of eldar psychic power buffs. being able to hurt stuff outside of LoS.
They are at best fairly priced, and at worse undercosted.

You know off the topic of greater good. What separates the imperiums fascism to save humanity at any means from the taus greater good?

Good rules (-1 to being hit or extra shooting rounds) combined with excellent weapons, excellent exarch weapons, heavy weapons with a special rule that allows you to ignore penalties and punishing overwatches that stops a shooty unit from being charged.

They do everything.

I guess anything that's not Imperium needs to be critized in some way or another, there is no difference between what Imperium and Tau does.

because their empire works like sovitet russia or communist china. Starting from the propaganda, to sociaty being divided in to groups, and ending with pogroms of certain populations or sterlisation.
Ah and for the greater good, is the thing that was used as an argument any action in any communist country ever. you go to jail, for the greater good of working proletariat. you die of hunter, for the greater good of the working proletariat. its time to start colectivisation of land, even when we first promised you to give you land of your own, for the greater good of rworking class proletariat. etc

>guess anything that's not Imperium needs to be critized in some way or another
Is this implying the imperium isn't heavily criticized?

It is, but not as much as the xenos by some groups.

if you lived in any communist country, you would know that they were anything, but legalists. Their trait was that they were doing stuff illegal under their own laws . Nazis were crazy legalists, where they had to buying one way tickets from DBahn for people being sent to camps.

The greater good is moral justification for atrocities as it has been throughout history.

The Imperium is 'survive at all costs', Basic survival is far lower on any chart of needs than the bourgeois moralizing of alien or human collectivists. I'm looking at you socialists

...Legalism. The Chinese Philosophy. One one founded by the guy who's statue I posted a picture of. Not just concerned with law.

Uh... I dunno I think the imperium has a much worse image than orks, tau, and eldar. Nids is like up in the air how you view them and DE are the only "okay yeah no they're fucked"

Remember when Tau shitposters use to trash threads for literally days at a time?

We call them commies because we know it upsets them and they deserve it.

asians don't have philosophy. legalism is a Prussian term.

Its a meme. Just an old kind of label, that some people take seriously and some dont. No one gives a fuck what their actual political alignment is - its just what people call them. Space commies.

Jesus man. Read a book.

I was just curious, I guess I missed the point that it is just another meme.

Are you retarded?

Look up Shang Yang, he's a lot older than Prussia.

user that believes comunist countries had castes, are you back?

Want to make a fluffy 3rd company captain. The marines codex says that (for the ultramarines at least, and im basing the assumption that a compliant chapter would be similar) the captain of the 3rd company is the Master of the Arsenal. So, it'd be safe to assume he's gonna have some rare equipment. Would a combi plas or melta and a thunder hammer be a good set of gear for him? I don't plan on actually using him, I've already got a captain I run with, but I just want a good fluffy one

That would be reflected more in his company than his personal loadout - he's not even the Master of Relics. He'd just have the company most focused on toys before boys.

I don't see how any marine player can feel happy playing their dudes now that they are cucked by golden bois

oh let me just check my own country. special stores only party members of certain rank could buy stuff. special cards that let you ignore certain laws, or buy or "own" stuff like radios or to have your car not be affected by some minor stuff like traffic law. the non-people class made out of families of members of convicted or jailed people, who were not trailed themself, who had a separate law system for themself. A high ranking party member could make anything with those people and not be prosecuted.

The special status of miners. Separate law system for members of secret police and their families.

to move around the country or enter cities you needed passports. You had to be registered to be allowed to live in any place, and the laws of registration where of course diffferent for party members, higher ranking party members, military/normal and secret militia, the non-people.
everyone had a passport. but only high ranking party members could keep them at home. everyone else had their passport at the local militia station, and to get it out, you had to go through a long wait time, sign up a ton of documents, pass the "traitor" test etc.

So yeah, there was a cast system in communist countries.

>trying to knock socialism for not fulfilling human needs

gee bill how's that private healthcare working for you

>not old enough for a job thst has full benefits
People that don’t pay taxes shouldn’t be allowed to vote to raise taxes

look at this out of touch bourgeois idiot lmao

jobs don't even exist anymore, everything is at-will gig economy shit, as your capitalist overlords prefer it

>Custodes literally sucking Guilliman's dick
Marines are the ones doing the cucking around here user.

yeah that. for example if you wanted to study at a university. but your parents where non-people, or even academics themself, but not members of the party, you would get negative points on your entry exam. On the other hand if your parents were working class party members, you yourself were a members of communist youth brigade and your boss rated you as a "good communist" you were starting the exam with 55pts out of 100 possible.

At the same time high rank party members could just get an university spot based on party recomendation. And no this was not some out of system stuff. It was writen in to the law. And the different cathegories of people were updated all the time. Sometimes they got racial, if the party decided to get rid of jews or some other minority. Sometimes it was more focused on certain type of workers, if those decied to oppose the party.

Hm, you may have a point there. When I read his title, I interpreted it as he's the guy in charge of the armoury, and as such he'd be carrying some pretty good gear, but that'd be something more fitting of the Master of Relics. After all, the beter gear is usually considered to be relics and such

Not official caste system though, officialy in communist countries everyone is equal. I was living in one too, and yes, there was "caste" system, but we all knew it was unofficial.

strictly speaking communism demands a stateless society so the tau fail from step one

read a book you mongs

Bretty good

dude if you have a separate law system for different group of people, in one sociaty, then this is exactly what a cast system is. You could be a party memember if they found out that before the war your grandfather owned a private shop, or worse a small factory, your were fucking doomed. they would kick you out of the party, you would lose your flat, no one would want to hire you.
It was brutaly official. stuff like the point system for university entry where everywhere. Lets say your were a worker, and out of 4 your grand parents 3 were of the official class of agricultural workers, but one of them, doesn't matter if it was your grandfather or grandmother, had a small plot of land or 2 cows aka was in the official farmer or gardner class, and yes those were separate, you would not be able to become a shift master. And it was in the freaking law. If one of your grand parents was classed as a non-people pre WWII you would not be able to work in the militia or military.

So how about those wargames?

Alright, the other guys pointing out that tau aren't communist are just mildly autistic, but the state thing? Yes, I know it's in whatever badly printed college pamphlet you hand out between classes, but nobody actually makes a determination of communism based on state existence because it's always been state-imposed. Saying that isn't communism is like saying the US isn't democratic, because it's a federal republic. WE KNOW. IT'S A USEFUL WORD.

oh I see you are one of those people that claim that communism never existed for real, because it was never implemented the way Marks said it should work, and of course you have a favorite translation, which is the "true" version of Marks though. let me guess your not much of trockist, so Luxemburgian?

Surely someone has a goddamn pure Custodes battle report?

Don't even bother. He's just going to make some point about communism having never been tried before.

That's... Not communism dude, that's Stalinism. You should really read what is communism.

>Read a book
If I didn't even read my codex I'm, sure as hell not going to read a political manifesto.

Moreso done by Primaris.
Custodes have been around since ages and can't do everything in the galaxy. Primaris popped up out of nowhere as marines+

Personally, I haven't played in like 2 months, which is depressing, but I'm hoping that the next time I play, I'll be able to finally field the entirety of the Storm Wardens 3rd company, completely painted. Just finished building the last squad of bolters tonight, and am probably going to start them this weekend
