FUCK!
The actual previous edition.

you should've stripped out the older articles, but it's better than the last few threads

You take this making new thread making business too seriously. Just relax my dude

...God help us all. D&D have been signed for a trilogy of Star Wars movies after GoT ends.
>starwars.com/news/game-of-thrones-creators-david-benioff-and-d-b-weiss-to-write-and-produce-a-new-series-of-star-wars-films

KATHLEEEEEN!

No.
I must commit sudoku.
Farewell space cowboy.

Not using overload pulse, so I'm not sure of the relevance there. NK-7's seem to trigger straight away.

More dice would put more damage on target, and it's not like they'd be able to use their redirect to do anything about it. Interesting.

I'll admit, I've never fought anything bigger than a Neb-B before, so I'm worried about big ships with a full suite of defence tokens.

I assume HIE's are High Capacity Ion Turbines? I can't find anything with the HIE acronym in the hivelabs builder. Otherwise, I like both builds. Would disposal capacitors be worthwhile for a long-range alpha strike on the Cymoon?

This is actually the worst news Star Wars has had since they gave Abrams the reigns on IX. I’m glad Disney continues to ruin the franchise so that I can get one step closer to shedding all earthly attachments like a buddhist monk.

I was merely joking, but this is actually extremely sad

>the reins
Im drunk anons forgive me

Sorry man, i couldn't resist making this.

That ain't just any Star Destroyer, m80. That's Chimera.
He's fucking with Thrawn.
...I have an idea.

>Solo: A Star Wars Story
>Directed by: Phil Lord (age 42), Christopher Miller (age 42), Ron Howard (age 63)
>Produced by: Kathleen Kennedy (age 64), Allison Shearmur (age 54)
>Screenplay by: Lawrence Kasdan (age 69)
>Music by: John Powell (age 54)
>"I hate millenials!"
>"I want millenials to stop killing star wars!"
Are you all retarded?

Literally nobody said this

Here's the template in case your idea needs it.

... Who mentioned millennials? user are you sure you're on the right board?

>Kasdan
I was astonished at how bad the new Jumaji was, but when I saw that the director was one of his spawn it all made sense.

My mistake on the OPs, but the fundamental problem remains the same, all critical effects go off after then defense tokens do. The only exceptions are pseudo crits like Flechette Torpedoes where you actual sped the crit from your attack pool before the defender gets to do anything.

HIE's are Heavy Ion Emplacements, a new card that comes with the Profundity. On a blue crit is strips a shield off the defending and adjacent hull zones.

Moi Pekka, mitä kuuluu?

It would be easier to shitpost without using critical-thinking skills if you didn't keep posting those faggy facts, faggot.

Someone in the last thread

somebody in the last thread did.

though really it's not that millennials are directly making the movies so much as there's stuff in the movies that is expressly designed to *appeal* to millennials.

Basically. Already the rest of my 501st buds don't go see the movies in theater in the wake of Rogue One, instead just watching pirated versions at our commander's house while getting wasted and angry together.

It's literally been repeated ad nauseam for the last three threads.

No mitäs tässä, kuuntelin rölliä raketin lähtiessä.
youtube.com/watch?v=qIoKUB_m3bk

Why wasn't this post directed at that one single person then? Or better yet, why was such an opinion not just cast aside

>though really it's not that millennials are directly making the movies so much as there's stuff in the movies that is expressly designed to *appeal* to millennials.
Yeah, this children's fantasy franchise should stop catering to young people and start catering to us, the guy who watched ANH as a teenager in 1977.

>tfw your parents were 20 at that point in time
Doesn't mean I like this new garbage, though.

I don’t think that being aimed at kids is a problem, but being aimed at kids doesn’t mean they have to be lazy cashgrabs

Hyvä musiikki, kiitos ystäväni

Maybe because it's an opinion that's been permeating through the entire fandom for a few years now. Even RLM has been playing it up in their skits, although it's more of a parody about cancerous youtube "culture" than it is expressly aimed at millenials. Still, there's a lot of hate and disappointment being directed at youngsters like it's somehow their fault when the reality is they're a product of their environment and not simply a result of it.

Cheers cunt, I'll see what I can do.

Okay, that makes more sense. Thought the timing was otherwise, good to know.

I do like the sound of HIE's. Yes I do. Shame I have to buy a dirty rebel scum ship for it, though.

I saw RotJ in the theater the first time around when I was three. I don't like them either!*

Point is, we're not the audience anymore. Disnep is just counting on us spending nostalgiabux on faux vintage pre-faded Vader t-shirts.

*you were supposed to read that part in Dr. Evazan's voice

Pretty basic, but I like it.

Would a X-wing list based around a Star Wing and some basic TIEs be playable in the current meta? What expansions beyond base box+star wing+TIE/LN would I need?

Saved

...

I've cleaned it up a little. Made a few rookie mistakes that hopefully aren't as glaring now.

Center stage Hondo’d the droneship. That’s my story and no pesky news will change it.

OK how about this
The Last Jedi BUT the role of Admiral Holdo is replaced by HONDO OHNAKA

Any suggestions for fleshing out the crew of a Rebel Nebulon-B?

I love hondo

But why

Star Wings are pretty good.

What combination of ships would you be trying to fly?

A mix of TIE fighters and Gunboats? You might be able to make something out of 4 TIES and a Gunboat ace, or 3 ties and 2 Gunboats.

I've had good success with 2 elite Gunboats and an Interceptor/Defender/TIE/SF ace, or vader.

What do you want your squad to do, how do you want to fly? Any specific characters you want to include?

>Clone wars vet from clone side
>Clone wars vet from CIS side
>Imperial navy rating who switched sides
>Pirate
>Mercenary
>Rebel sympathiser from a local defense fleet who has joined the rebellion

That's as far as my imagination takes me.

Hondo makes everything better, there is no situation that isn't improved with the addition of Hondo.

I had Hondo as a recurring NPC in one of my games once, accompanied whenever he turned up with theme music, and my players either loved him or loved to hate him, he was glorious.

I would love to throw him in mine but the situation is like lando where I could never pretend to have the kind of, let's call it charisma, that he has. That and he has some specific mannerisms in how he speaks that are tough to emulate.

gun to my head I could probably have my players do a conversation with most of the major movie cast and television characters, but a few like Lando and Hondo are just too damn hard.

Coming soon to a theater near you:

youtube.com/watch?v=lg_FoEy8T_A

I unironically hope they use it in the credits or a post-credits teaser

Kind of interesting... the do seem to do storytelling better than JJ & Co, which is something I'm probably most critical of the new movies.

However!
They're gunna kill all your space waifu's, its gunna be a bloodbath the likes of which even Dave Filoni wouldn't even try

Huh there is someone else

Actually just because the names are almost exactly the same and I have to think twice before typing either out.
Don't feel bad about it, even professional voice actors can't nail it down. He has a low intimidating voice in the German dub. He sounds almost respectable. Hondo really is one of a kind.

I actually used this as a plot hook in a post-Endor Legends game I ran a while back.

>inb4 it's the fucking intro to the movie

I like the idea of double gunboats and triple generic TKEs, or maybe double TIE aces and a gunboat ace?
I want to blast missiles with the gunboat (s) while the TIEs do swarm stuff, what would be a good build for that?

...

>do storytelling better than JJ & Co
I'll watch all but the last episode of Fringe a thousand times before I'll watch the seasons of GoT where they didn't have the books to fall back on.

>why is the Admiral crying?
>He says the earthlings are practically unconquerable due to their military art

That's the funny thing, they do TV series really well/ok- but the movies just seem to turn into a shitshow of plot holes

I would take a thousand TFA over anything that the brains behind Wolverine Origins crank out.

For Gunboats, they commonly run at

-22 points (for a bare-minimum boat) to 32 for an Elite gunboat, to ~36 for an ace. There are point costs in between these values for different loadouts.

Tie Fighters cost either 12, 15, or 18/19- You don't give them upgrades aside from Crack Shot. If you have 4 or more, one is Howlrunner.

As a general rule of thumb, aces (Inquisitor, Soontir, Maarek, Quickdraw, etc) are load-up-able from 31 to 36 points, and there are a few "heavy" aces that go to 40. Silencers hit 43/47 points as the most expensive ace-ship we have.

So choose a ship combination that seems good to you? I know i've seen goofy experiments with 4 Gunboats and a single TIE.

Just watch the half finished leaked version. it's actually kinda funny when it's half finished.

How so?

In looking for design tips, what would be a good example for a CIS answere to the ATAT?

Aw shit son.

Gunboat ace+3 TIEs+ howlrunner sounds fun, what upgrades should I throw on them? What sets would I need to get?
Thanks a bunch m8

Honestly, the Hailfire would be a decent enough answer. It's retardedly fast so it could pretty easily outflank a slow, sluggish walker with a limited firing arc. Two launchers with 15 guided rockets in each which were shown to be able to take out an AT-TE and other armied targets. Just strafe around the walker, target the points, and unleash a volley of rockets.

There are 2 Gunboat aces, each with different abilities.

One is focused on taking heavy cannons, and the other one Missiles.

I'm assuming you want the Missile one?

Yeah, missile spam.
On that subject, would it be in any way viable to use a gunboat and TIE punisher together for maximum missile blasting?

You mean the MTT?

The Hailfire Droid can do it with no problem.

>Pirate

He/She doesn't keep the fact that they're a pirate all that secret, but they're useful and not horribly brutal. Supports the Rebellion for three major reasons,

>Essentially sponsored piracy
>Restoring the Republic likely means a looser grip on security, which means easier pickings in the future
>The fall of the Empire will likely bring on a period of chaos that will make plundering much easier than under stable Imperial rule
>Doesn't broadcast their intentions, but doesn't exactly hide it, either. Rebellion tolerates him/her for now because they follow orders, isn't a massive dirtbag when on missions, and is fairly good at their job. Superior officer is aware that the pirate is a danger, and keeps a close eye, but is unwilling to do anything for the time being.

>Clone wars vet from CIS side
Citizen of one of the worlds that joined the Confederacy under sincere belief of the Republic's corruption. Maybe over serving in the military, discovered how much control the corporations had over the CIS and became disillusioned. When the Empire was established, scattered to Wild Space with some of their closest allies and was largely content with hiding out in some backwater community until the Empire arrived, searching for them.

Fought the newly-established Imperial garrison with guerrilla tactics, eventually joined up with the newly-formed Rebel Alliance, appreciating their idealism compared to the corruption of the Confederacy. After a few missions, boldly set out on a plan to steal a Nebulon-B from the Imperial Navy. In reward for their success, and experienced background, they were given command of the ship.

what would be some fun weird squadbuilding restrictions for a non-serious XWM tournament?

snake drafting

Can someone post the Incredible Shrinking Move?

two ships max, no unique pilots, crew or titles allowed

The PCs were a NRI team sent to spy on a covert meeting between a minor Imperial warlord and the Hutt cartel. The warlord offered the Hutts a holorecording of what he called "Han Solo's darkest secret" in exchange for a vast sum of money to buy new warships for his fleet. The tape was just Han Solo doing that dance and singing while incredibly drunk in a backwater cantina some time before Yavin.

I kinda wonder how attritional galactic warfare is in Star Wars. Not necessary in terms of materiel, since that's probably unlimited for most purposes, but in terms of finances. After a certain point, the economic cost of warfare becomes too great, and you are all but forced to capitulate.

Another Armada question - I'm working on an objective-centered Interdictor list, the idea being I get second player and force them to choose objectives that I can then push closer to my deployment zone to coast on free victory points. I've got most of the list more or less worked out (though feedback is welcome), but I can't for the life of me settle on what kind of escort vessels I want. List so far is below.

>Admiral Rae Sloane
>Precision Strike
>Fire Lanes
>Minefields

Interdictor Suppression Refit
>Title
>Yularen
>Projection Experts
>Disposable Caps
>Leading Shots
>Grav Shift
>Targeting Scrambler.

>Colonel Jendon
>Lambda Shuttle
>Maarek Stele
>3x Defender Squadron.

Between Jendon and Maarek's double tap and Sloane's tokenfucker ability, I'm not too worried about enemy squadrons as long as I can get off my activation in relatively early. I just need a reliable way to activate the squadrons whilst contesting objectives (and hopefully killing things before they die horribly).

I've got around 140 points left to spend after I account for a bid.

Help me /swg/, you're my only hope.

Tie Punisher is currently the game's bad-joke ship. The way to use it at its best is to focus on bomb dropping, and other ships do that job better.

Maximum missile blasting is a thing though, 3 Gunboats and a light ace or 4 gunboats (and maybe a TIE).

Here's the basis for your list

geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Galactic Empire&d=v4!s!267:27,-1,243:61:16:U.-1,U.-1;18:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs=

There are a couple points to play with. Howlrunner can potentially drop Crack Shot for a different Elite upgrade, (likely Veteran Instincts or Adaptability) potentially freeing a point. Then, you could potentially drop one Black Squadron TIE to Wampa, freeing another point.

The issue is, I'm not super sure what you would want those 3 points for.

You also may want to swap the Harpoon Missile for a Homing Missile, if the splash damage from the missile hitting friendly TIES is a problem. Knowing you are new, I'd make that change now.

geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Galactic Empire&d=v4!s!267:27,-1,17:61:16:U.-1,U.-1;18:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:;12:140:-1:-1:&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs=

The thing that this list is supposed to do is try to hammer people with those 4 TIES while Vynder does his moving-around like a spaz, reloading and shooting constantly.

The issue he has is that Vynder is always starved for actions. He wants to, in order-

- Get a Target Lock to shoot his missile
- Reload his missile if it's not there
- get a focus token to fully mod his missile
- SLAM to keep on target.

That's 4 actions a turn. Vynder can do 2/3 of those consistently on the turns he needs to do. Expertise as his EPT is a potential swap (giving him the Focus constantly) but it's expensive and lowers his Pilot Skill from Veteran Instincts.

Either way, at least he can be slippery with Advanced Slam and his ability.

My personal style of lists are typically 2 Rho Veterans and a non-gunboat ace.

The Super Tank from the TCW return to Geonosis arc.

An ungodly AAT-MTT-Mortar Tank hybrid with shields and extra strong armor.

Hi Eckharts Ladder

I like Top Gun as a format.

It's not super silly, but it does inspire a pretty traditional game style.

There are also Objectives.

nationaltabletopgaming.org/tournament-resources

For goofy, there's always Mario Kart.

Isn't that basically the reason the Imperials never stormed Mon Cal for their involvement with the Rebels? It was possibly, it would just have cost so much time and money it was never going to be worth it?

The Death Star's construction and destruction probably put massive financial pressure on everyone

...

Eh?

What does mentioning the Superweapon-of-the-week that was implied heavily to eventually lead to the AT-AT have to do with a Wookieepedia reader who can't play Thrawn's Revenge? (Really, he's bad, but then again he's playing a 2.2 beta so maybe it's just significantly harder than 2.15, it does add upkeep and that's always a bitch.)

That, plus it was far away, the hyperspace route had been lined with towed high-mass objects and interdiction mines surrounded by various realspace mines etc. Teaking Mon Cala would have required pulling an incredible number of ships from elsewhere, or as Palpatine planned: the Death Star itself.

WATCH

Pretty much. Once Mon Cala liberated itself, it also heavily mined its own hyperlanes to deter/prevent Imperial reprisal. I know also that before their occupation they had one of the best planetary shields in the galaxy, and the Empire couldn't crack it, so they had to sabotage it from within before invading. Idk if MC got it back up after their liberation but it's imagine it's be top priority

Yeah, I already had to give him some tips. I just associated the supertank with his video on the best vehicle per faction. I thought it was a sort of weird and semi-obscure choice in place of the MTT.

That does remind me, I am super hyped for Bulk Cruisers and Gladiator SDs. Mildly hyped for the Dauntless class, though the specs from the older games made the Dauntless seem better than the MC80 yet Corey seems to be making them somewhat weaker.

NOT CLEAR! NOT CLEAR!

Yeah, like a bigger better walkier version

Let's be honest here. The Mad Dog is the most aesthetic Clan mech. The Timber Wolf is the plebeian choice

I haven't even started anything clone wars related.

EaW mods are so fucking wonderful.
