never heard of Mech Fantasy and "Medieval" seems to be kind of inconsistent with the other stuff, "historical" would probably be more apropriate, but in essence it seems right

>never heard of Mech Fantasy
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vision_of_Escaflowne

>Maximilian Gothic plate
>medieval
like when the turks conquered Constantinople using main battle tanks.

...

Mech fantasy best fantasy.

Mech fantasy is just Sci fi, and medieval fantasy is just fantasy. Either way this thread needs more naked elf girls

...

Sure, whatever. None of those terms are particularly well-agreed-upon or meaningful, but nothing in the image is obviously wrong.

Saved.

Its mid 15th century, that's still medieval.

Bueno

>High Fantasy
Needs more impossibly beautiful and beautifully impossible things, senpai.

>What if I wrote a historical fiction book on crack

>the word late and the word not are interchangeable

Is Five Star Stories mech fantasy or just science fiction?

That Orcs and elves aren't especially high fantasy. And a forest definitely isn't.

Remove forest and add a dragon or something.

>Lord of the Rings is not high fantasy
I want brainlets to leave my board

That's nothing. Google "пoпaдaнцы".

MЫ БЫЛИ КOPOЛЯMИ

These are great. I can't read them but they all look beautifully insane

>white Egyptians
This is the single most unrealistic thing here.

>North Africans never have caucasoid features
Educate yourself.

>Such rigid definitions of fantasy types
It's on a spectrum, dude. Like everyone on this board. (I'm insulting me, too)

That looks like a genuinely fun read.

>russian isekai

This is true. Everyone knows we wuz kangz

Daily reminder not to consume bait. Let's just claim that they weren't north-european white nor subsaharan black and leave it at that.

What if the mechs are magical?

What if medieval is deprived of all fantasy elements like Mount and Blade?

Is that Yul Brynner?

This guy run into any legal problems?

If you were Disney, would you bother with taking it down?

>Disney, not protecting IP from diffusion

There's not much protection needed when the grand total of 3 neckbeards in Siberia are going to read this book.

Pitch a new fiction/fantasy genre to me right now.

>Implying the Kremlin wouldn't laugh at Disney trying

High mech historical fantasy

>Science Fantasy
It's just Soft Sci-Fi you idiot.
>Medieval
You have Historical Nonfiction, Historical Fiction and Historical Fantasy
>Mech Fantasy
It's just Mech, which falls under Sci-Fi anyway.
In this case it'll be Soft Sci-Fi again.

Star Trek is soft scifi. Star Wars is not, because it doesn't even pretend that the story is about its fictional science. Not that it should.

Lord of the rings is high fantasy but not just because it has some orcs and elves. Fucking shadowrun has yhose but it sure as fuck isnt high fantasy. High fantasy is about the tone and themes.

That elf should be a girl (male), it’s more accurate.

Just because you can't see the penis, doesn't mean there isn't a penis

No. Low fantasy vs high fantasy is another thing altogether.

Is that Stalin?

I do not think you know what Maximilian-style armor looks like.

>It's just Mech, which falls under Sci-Fi anyway.

Even the giant wooden mecha of feudal japan?

>minaret domes on tanks
I love this.

Yes.

>American company trying to enforce copyright law in Russia
[laughs in vodka]

>Sci-fantasy is just sci-fi
Get a load of this guy
Sometimes you're correct, and god knows that the OP missed the mark immensely, but sci-fantasy is about mixing both sci-fi and fantasy in different levels, without touching either genre entirely

Russian here, it's figuratively that, and it was a huge trend among 90s-00s fiction. Complete with all the isekai tropes.

The thumbnail looks like a Ciaphas Cain book.

>No knightguy on the science fantasy
DELETO

You don't understand : that's probably the russian born protagonist who got sent back through time. The real egyptian is the guy right behind him, see?

Bio-fantasy: H.R. Giger-esque biomechanical creatures and buildings in their cultural medieval period. So like giant walking biomechanical siege engines, knights of chitin armor dueling with bone swords, castles of flesh and stone, etc.

>tfw watching the sci-fi channel recording of Robot Carnival with my dad all the time on our VCR
Robot Carnival was a treat. I wish I still had my old VHS copy - I don't feel right watching it now without the old yogurt and Crest toothbrush commercials between scenes.

You forgot the autistic screeching and nitpicking about something no one cares.

That actually looks pretty neat.

user stop giving me erections i'm in a public space.

I see spanking but I don't see any Catan.

I wanna fugg the high fantasy elf girl

Mirin hand, wrist, forearm, and neck thiccness.

t. idiot who does not understand what sci-fi means

Quite obviously.

Now I want to read a book about Stalin fighting vampires using the Tools of the Proletariat.

>mudslime commie propaganda

Daily reminder that Eric Flint is a literal card carrying communist.

>giant walking biomechanical siege engines, knights of chitin armor dueling with bone swords
So, Wood Elves?

So he has balls of steel. I don't think you do, user.

Sorry, this is the same country that's gay for Bernie Sanders. Your (((tricks))) don't work here, because you've already been too successful.

>giant walking biomechanical siege engines, knights of chitin armor dueling with bone swords, castles of flesh and stone, etc.
Literally Morrowind.

imagine being this guy

>never heard of Mech Fantasy

It occasionally appears in animu but is rather rare in the west.

Is "Make France great again" a common trend in russian isekai?

>bernie sanders
>communist

why is it that americans dont know basic political theory?

I really don't think the OP even cares about that.

You know, this got me thinking. I can't be that much worse than the talentless hacks that wrote all this crap.

Maybe I should try my hand at publishing a book? I wrote a few popular greentexts on Veeky Forums, so I know I have some bright ideas, and my writing probably won't be much worse than this drivel. Surely, I can make some profit?

t. russian

Dark fantasy
>It's just you and me, dragon

High fantasy
>What is this elf slut doing here, can't she see I'm trying to fight the orc?

Mech fantasy
>Why isn't that elf slut doing anything? Can't she see I'm clearly outmatched?

Medieval
>It's cold
>The French are too loud
>My feet hurt
>I miss the elf slut

Low fantasy
>Human wenches just aren't the same

Science fantasy
>[RIP in Pastrami, brave time traveling knight]

Acthually it's italian full plate

>>I miss the elf slut
You don't know what you have until it's gone.

Then you have Warmachine.

Knowing these shit books, it probably mentions France in one sentence, and then goes on to describe how Napoleon took over the Russian army to conquer Britain.

But that's the thing, your writing HAS to be shit to be understood and enjoyed by the target audience of these books (low income loser office drones). Write anything actually interesting, and your book will be dismissed for being too weird. The plot also has to be borderline fascist. If you can write that kind of thing without a strong desire to kill yourself, more power to you.

I wanted to type "Say hello to my little friend HONHONHON" in French, but then I realized that in French little friend is "petit-ami", which also means boyfriend. That does raise a very poignant question I hope some Frenchfags can answer for me: in the French Scarface dub, does he say "say hello to my boyfriend"? Or does he say something else?

Dub says « Elle va cracher, ma vieille frangine ! »

youtube.com/watch?v=f5vgLrb18hs#t=40s

>She's going to spit, my old sister
Huh, that's one way to solve the problem. Thanks for the heads-up.

Bad education.

Which one? The elf slave or the fatguy?

Then it's either soft Sci-Fi or High Fantasy, depending on which genre it leans more heavily towards.

that's just the german gothic armor, Maximillian has a lot more fluting

Nah dude

>elven slavegirl
>"guy"

Middle fantasy is GOAT. Have all the shit in high fantasy but with a more grounded world that makes the fantastical elements more impressive and magical.

...

Stop posting this.

>2001: a space odyssey
I want to say I don't understand what makes it the archetypical example of hard sci-fi, but I don't understand the movie period. It's like it's just stuff happening on a screen that doesn't really mean anything until the HAL subplot happens, and even that ends in 7 minutes (I checked) of nothing happening.

>I don't understand what makes it the archetypical example of hard sci-fi
Neither do I. But at least he didn't post Primer.

>Mysticism is hard sci-fi

Stalin vs Vampire Trotsky. I'm disappointed he's not using an ice pick to stake him through the heart.

You can't have the whole package in one book.

>Primer
