>"Oh hey FFG is releasing new content" >it's all explicitly nucanon and all rebel-centric
Matthew Jackson
It''s what I was wanting for a long time, and those specializations look juicy
Colton Miller
Has there been a leak or something? Because they haven't had anything but fucking legion news for months.
Christian Scott
The dawn of rebellion sourcebook is about to drop for real now
Alexander Russell
All I want from FFG right now, out of any of their games, is the Resistance A-Wing.
Jeremiah Green
Just Legion and the new RPG splat.
>splat is entirely dedicated to rebel players and crossing the rebels show into the game >every legion post has been something for the rebellion
It's like they forget that there's, you know, other factions.
Bentley Campbell
What are the U-wing stats
Jayden Barnes
I'm still waiting for pretty much everything else from the flight sims. Also the TIE Hunter.
Asher Watson
Did Yoda do everything he could do to save the galaxy?
Caleb Clark
Same, then I can finally waifufag properly in X-Wing.
Ryder Myers
why, it's literally just a stretched regular A-Wing with a slightly different cockpit
Joshua Parker
>Also the TIE Hunter. I was about to say "but they dropped the TIE Hunter in Stay on Target", but then I realized you meant XWM and not the RPGs.
Lucas Evans
I don't recall the galaxy ever needing Yoda to save it in the first place.
Unless we count that time JarJar injected the Kaminoan ED serum that made his erection expand to the size of a black hole and form a gravitational pull around it that threatened to suck up all life into the endlessly deep pit of his ass.
Grayson Edwards
By "now" I mean the 22nd
Michael Lewis
damn
Kevin Reyes
It fixed the jamtastic guns on the original
so the shoot backwards mode works properly now
Thomas Powell
>it's all explicitly nucanon and all rebel-centric
Thank god. I'm tired of having to pretend that the only good Star Wars was the oldcanon stuff. It's time to move on; you old people have had your fun for 40 years, so hand it over to us now and go away.
Jackson Cox
I like the stretched-out hull.
Also, I'm a faggot and want to play Tallie.
Austin Morales
What's your favorite ship design that hasn't already been ported to XWM/Armada, /swg/?
Mine is pic related, the Belbullab-22 starfighter. General Grievous had a custom one built and named it the Soulless One. The smooth and sleek metalwork of the chassis coupled with the retro-futuristic design really appeals to me.
I'd also love to see the Separatist Dreadnought added in, too.
Kayden Ortiz
I'd say StealthX but it's one of those things where the concept was much cooler than the execution. Official art and text descriptions show a pretty disappointing T-65 recolor with a few gimmicks rather than a proper Incom-flavored F-22.
Gavin Campbell

Robert Hernandez
>every legion post has been something for the rebellion That's just because they showed the empire's stuff first. Veers was announced back in December, Leia only just recently and only because she was leaked by a distributor.
Veers as an infantry leader or Veers and Blizzard One?
Noah Watson
Just Veers. One of his command cards is to call in a bombardment from an off-table AT-AT.
Ryder Evans
Now see, that leaves me worried that that anything bigger than an AT-ST won't make it into the game.
Ian Price
that's because it won't
I live for the day that FFG either releases, or states there will never be, an SSD in Armada just so I can quit hearing about it
Jayden Gutierrez
It wont, look at what that sort of thing did to 40k, I'd kill for a star wars version of epic though
Asher Hall
No. No it's really not. I'm entirely tired of assblasted oldbeards at my LGS complaining about how Star Wars was better in their day and anyone who even watches the new stuff doesn't deserve to be in the same store as them. They shit up almost every Armada or Xwing game we play, and I'm tired of it.
Old people can fuck off and die. You're the worst kind of fans: the ones who think you know better than the creators and you're entitled to anything more than what they choose to give you.
Lucas Harris
It won't, but that's okay because the Rebels won't have anything bigger than an AT-RT.
Adrian Flores
A couple of the previous threads on here have given me an idea for a Starfighter themed campaign.
System would be Age of Rebellion.
Concept is that the players are newly recruited pilots assigned to a recently acquired base, dubbed "Vertigo Station" as it is built into the side of a mountain. I'm thinking it might be located in the Expansion Region.
Players are assigned a couple of old Y-wings because the Alliance needs the more modern fighters for other areas. Said Y-wings have problems with their repulsorlifts. As a result, the ground crew has rigged up some magnetic accelerators to get them moving fast enough to take off. Possibly faulty inertial dampers as well, so there would be a possibility of the players blacking out during high-g turns.
Players would conduct missions against Imperial forces in the area such as raiding shipments, destroying outposts, and providing air support for ground operations.
Thoughts, questions, suggestions?

>Creators know better than the fans You... you realise the people making the ST are also fans and not the creator, right?
Austin Murphy
If they didn't know what they were doing, then Disney wouldn't have trusted them with the franchise, so that distinction doesn't apply to them. Yes, they were fans. Now they're the creators, and they DO know better than any random internet person.
A 50 year old unmarried virgin who sits in an LGS all day is not a better judge of "what makes good Star Wars" than the people who are creating it.
Jaxon Perry
>a man who pressed on first draft without even watching the movie that preceeded it because it hasn't finished knows better then the fans who research the topic slavishly
Colton Wright
>sick of fanboys shitting up games by complaining about newcanon >shits up thread by complaining about fanboys
ironic
Andrew Martin
Make sure to look up various starfighter houserules unless you want ridiculous PC turnaround. Otherwise could probably work.
Grayson Walker
>a star wars version of epic That should have been the game that received the name "Legion." A Roman legion consisted of thousands of men and I doubt actual Legion games will get any bigger than platoon-level engagements.
Jason King
Side note, it really bothers my autism that the games are called "Star Wars: Armada", "Star Wars: Legion", and... "X-Wing"
Jayden Ross
I mean, it's not very easy to argue that the old films are better than the ST. I'd go as far to say the average moments of the ST are on the same level of the worst moments of the PT.
At least in my mind TFA was disappointing, RO was bad, TLJ was shockingly bad, and Solo will probably be franchise-killingly bad, and saying that doesn't make me a 50 yo virgin sweating in an LGS.
Easton Lee
Star Wars: Squadron just doesn't have as good a ring to it and isn't specific enough to immediately bring dogfighting to mind.
Eli Martin
X-Wing should've been called Star Wars: Squadron desu, the name X-Wing alone isn't in the style of the other names and weird considering X-Wings are only one of many ships you can use
Ryan Phillips
I think the audience, with its sub-60% approval rating, and that it made significantly less than predicted say that more than just grogs disliked it
Adrian Phillips
>I'd go as far to say the average moments of the ST are on the same level of the worst moments of the PT. user you're off the deep end
the worst moments of the ST are only moderately worse than the average moments of the PT
Blake White
And that name would still be kind of weird since a standard 100-point game still doesn't let you field enough starfighters to fill out an entire squadron.
Jacob King
idk, i'd take jarjar stepping in shit for a halfscene over constant MUH STATION NOT YOURS screaming, marey sue, bitchified luke, and yo mommhux any day
Wyatt Wilson
Armada and Legion are too generic, though. Armada isn't even the only game /in its genre/ named "Armada".
Also, this effect applies to all three games:
Jose Allen
But think about it.
Legion = ground warfare game, legion = name of ground warfare unit, boom. Armada = spacefleet warfare game, armada = name of fleet units, boom. Squadron = fighter/bomber warfare game, squadron = name of fighter/bomber unit, boom.
Nathan Rodriguez
>an SSD in Armada just so I can quit hearing about it Sadly, an executor would be about 7ft6" at armada scale I want a 1/32,000 scale game where you could actually field SSDs and dozens of ISDs and stuff, though it'll never happen
Connor Anderson
The Jedi Starfighter. Sexiest starfighter ever.
Andrew Young
This post might mean somthing the nu-canon had anything new or interesting.
Adrian Green
>I want a 1/32,000 scale game where you could actually field SSDs and dozens of ISDs and stuff, though it'll never happen Excellent taste. I've given a moderate amount of thought to designing something life that myself, using counters, but it could work just fine on a reasonably sized table
Carson Wood
I'd play the fuck out of this.
Wonder where it'd be set, though. Somewhere in the Outer Rim, probably.
Hunter Hughes
>clone helmet on rebel pilot suit I love it
Unless that's supposed to be the armored flight suit, which is also cool
Nicholas Thompson
muh first order... muh kylo...
Landon Cruz
Thinking of playing a smuggler. Should I have a trusty non-human sidekick or is that too Han Solo-ish?
Aaron Gutierrez
Definitely a TCW-style Clone pilot helmet. You can see a faded Republic emblem on that bit right above the eyes.
Joseph Williams
Shit, that was supposed to go to .
Brody Johnson
My smuggler is a Trandoshan with a twi'lek sidekick. Mix it up a bit.
Carson Green
>Should I have a trusty non-human sidekick only if it's an ithorian
Leo Williams
Maybe go the Dash Rendar route and have a droid as your sidekick.
Bentley Rogers
Be an alien smuggler with a human sidekick.
Nicholas Rivera
Subvert all the expectations!
Chase Hernandez
You'll need some kind of co-pilot who can fly when you are napping on long hauls
but I like
Gabriel Murphy
Give your character a blaster that he named "Sidekick."
Jonathan Roberts
better idea, make your smuggler a space kickboxer with a mean side kick
Dominic Perry
Posting more of my pilot-related art because why not.

So what is the most up to date map of the galaxy in legends and canon?
There are so many and it's hard to make a real claim
Dominic Watson
>big corporations always know whats best for everything OH NO NO NO
Jordan Campbell
Will Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover salvage the Han Solo movie?
Noah Smith
No, but they'll make a valiant effort.
Hudson Morris
I don't think they'll salvage it, but I do think they'll probably be the only worthwhile parts of the movie.
Elijah Russell
swgalaxymap.com
Should have pretty much everything, not sure about the most recent canon planets.
Otherwise, canonically the galaxy map is officially pretty much exactly the same as it was in Legends, minus the existence of Zenoma Sekot plus the existence of all the new planets.
Ryder Brooks
Would you have preferred TIE-FIGHTER instead?
Eli Phillips
So, with D&D being brought on, what are the odds that they will rip off the Vong and NJO?
Josiah Long
so /wsg/, I'm looking for advice.
How do you fly /x7 Defenders in the current meta? Any useful tips? I'm currently thinking a pair of them and an Autothruster ace is the way to go for dealing with Fenn+Ghost lists, but I haven't flown them since the nerf.
Jose Mitchell
That's what I was figuring. Or I'd bend the rules a bit to prevent regular player deaths or even tpks.
Michael Jones
As an endeavor, the EU is something that's pretty special. That for over 20 years, a Star Wars was carried into the future through novels, even going through elaborate metaplots. How many series have had the multimedia continuation and love?
Jose Anderson
Vong I honestly don't see making it into nucanon in any form. I can see them ripping off the NJO wholesale though and just swapping out Luke for Rey.
Angel Butler
A surprising number. Maybe none to the extent that Star Wars was carried, but plenty of series got carried over into books or comics over the years.
The Vong are kind of in a weird canon-but-not-canon position at the moment - there's been nothing directly featuring them, but because there was work done on TCW episodes featuring them, they're at least present in canon in the minds of Filoni and some members of the story group, though not as... egregious as their Legends depiction.
James Phillips
I like the concept of the Vong, and I think they would be a nice addition to nuCanon for similar reasons. It makes Star Wars to be more than just retreading the same ground of Rebels vs Empire, red lightsabers vs blue, and X-Wings fighting TIEs.
Let's say D*sney takes a break from Star Wars for like 5-7 years. They take the time to come up with an actual plan for a trilogy. I think it could be pretty cool not only for Star Wars to come back, but to come back doing something different.
Andrew Wilson
Fate, Gundam, Dragon Ball, Star Trek, the DCU, Marvel, both Warhammers, Battletech, etc. There's plenty of multimedia franchises out there--not always to the degree of Star Wars, but they count.
Thomas Martin
I was thinking more TV and Movies rather than wargames, but I definitely overlooked stuff. I hope the sentiment makes sense.
Ryder Adams
Mind you, that approval rating doesn't come from 'Everyone gave is middling-low scores'. It comes from a mix of 'Really high' and 'Really low'.
Alexander Sanders
I think the only one that came close in scale to Star Wars is Star Trek, but yeah, there's been a large number of franchises over the years that made the switch from where they started to others.
Star Trek, for example, started with TOS, then went to an animated series, then books (most of which were explicitly non-canon to the TV shows and later movies) and comics, then movies.
TMNT is a good example, started as a comic, went to cartoon then movies.
Firefly had its followup Serenity, and there's been Firefly comics.
X-Files had comics and a movie.
Smallville had its final season be a comic series.
A large number of vidya franchises expanded to books and comics as well. AssCreed, Halo, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Warcraft, others that I'm probably forgetting.
Sebastian Turner
>Halo Man, that shit brings me back. Did the Halo tabletop game(s) ever get anywhere? Were they any good?
Jose Sanders
Not sure. I was never much into Halo. Enough to play the first three games, but I never read the books or played any of the games after that.
Xavier Barnes
Nylund's contribution to Halo is underrated imo.
John Morales
>It comes from a mix of 'Really high'
And these people are wrong.
Jose Smith
Don't forget the sad tale of Dead Space, a franchise that was never going to be as popular as EA wanted it to be, but nevertheless tried to force it to be so for money. Every step of it's life feels like it was just being mismanaged with how hard they wanted it to be a big name seller that as an action-horror game was just not going to happen. Had the games, comics, a book, some animated movies, even some off-shoot games (a neat little rail-shooter on the Wii of all things) but really, there was no way it was gonna be anything but a well made game for a specific kind of customer.
Wyatt Green
That's your opinion and you're free to have it but their opinion matters just as much.
