The Chief God Protects

OP image makes me question... are there any (inevitably frustrated) monstergirls that exist on drastically different scales from human? Without shapeshifting to compensate?

All hail The Chief God!

>a newfag,
Right, because it's not like Old Man Henderson (as much as I may dislike it), the Ballad of Edgardo, or even simpler ones like Noh weren't all told in a proper writing format. Which is to say nothing of the writefaggotry of old. Can you imagine how retarded to read something like LCB would've been in greentext?

>So you have to attack a ship in a world of Monster Girls, who would you want on your crew?

Not!Captain Jack Sparrow?

>So you have to attack a ship in a world of Monster Girls, who would you want on your crew?

And Order aligned Kraken

>Order aligned Kraken

So The Order Navy with Mermaids and Krakens as members?

>So you have to attack a ship in a world of Monster Girls, who would you want on your crew?
A good sushi chef

RPG Maker here.
I promised a pdf, and I delivered.
It is in an Alpha state, so expect things to still be a little janky, not necessarily representative of the final product, etc etc.

I said I wanted to try and playtest this, so speak up if you're interested. I'm open to running whatever gets the most people on board, but thus far the premise is that you're Order-aligned humans and MGs, in a setting with Low or Moderate corruption, and I'd run 2 or 3 adventures - one in which you're dispatched into corrupted lands to investigate a missing trade caravan, one in which you have to find a corrupted sleeper-agent in a town, and one that will probably feature the Red Order somehow to test human antagonists in-detail.
I'm open to changing this however, it's a playtest so making sure it works at all is the main thing.

>Order aligned monstergirls
This is still dumb as fuck imo

>So The Order Navy with Mermaids and Krakens as members?

Yes actually.

Would the Order have krakens, though? We already established that they wouldn't be as big a power at sea as they are on land.

Red Order ships, lacking any kind of monsters whatsoever, would just have to be built for speed and hope like hell that they don't get caught in a head-on fight.

>Futa
NOT OKAY

If the Order is about fighting Corruption and leaves non-corrupted Monster Girls alone, no, it's not. In fact, it's necessary to have that be a thing for the Red Order, which I bet you would love so much, to exist.

>Captain: Alright, sea men. Drop your pants and cum in this bucket, it's time to feed the Kraken.

How can something that exists only to steal and rape be "order aligned"?

>non-corrupted Monster Girls
Still a dumb concept, seeing as they literally only exist thanks to being corrupted into monstergirls by the succubus lord

We need to link this into the OP from this thread onward. And if you are around to post any updated versions before a new thread starts, that would be great.

In the MGE Canon, yes, there wouldn't be non-corrupt MGs. But in the canon people are working on, they aren't corrupted from the beginning and aren't some rape machines.

So where a battle addicted angel would be in the setting?
Order?

>Would the Order have krakens, though? We already established that they wouldn't be as big a power at sea as they are on land.

I never said they have to have many user, They could have a few maybe but they would be stationed at important places and be part of an elite team and do important missions , like escorting a vip ship that has rare materials but mostly delegated to missions that are really important as not to risk losing a powerful asset like a kraken.

I wouldn’t know.
I’m just saying it appeals to me personally, for those reasons. Not making any assumptions about you.

Also yeah, a faction being good or bad informs a lot of design. That’s WH40Ks thing, every faction is bad, hence it has awesome designs.

Of the common ones I can realistically expect to have signing up? One or two mermaid girls to help save any men that fall overboard, to help scour ship wrecks, and to warn us of any sand banks, A Harpy or two to scout ahead and man the crows nest (har har). Also a handful of really strong armed girls like some Ogres or Orcs to help with the hauling and fighting. Also some fruit producing Alraunes for that vitamin C.

I wouldn't say Kraken or Scylla cause that would just be horribly over powered and I'd expect those to be a fair bit rarer. Any single Captain with a Kraken at it's call is going to dominate the sea lanes.

>So where a battle addicted angel would be in the setting?
>Order?

You mean a Valkyrie? then yes

If possible, long-range divers with spears or chemicals to destroy the sails of the ship and rob it of mobillity. All the better if you can break the steering mechanisms or lock it with course set for your own port. Also take out any boats they have.
Just have your divers return to your ship waiting beyond the horizon and occasionally check the ship while it's drifting to your port. When it's close enough to your port that you don't risk loosing it, just starve the crew out.

Of if you just want to destroy the ship, divers + explosives.

Then why are there monstergirls if not thanks to being a sex demon's literal magical realm? Why are they only girls and why do they still subsist at least in part on human cum?

Red Order would have zero ships. The Ocean is DOMINATED by monsters and pro-monster pirates. Any attempts at a navy the Red Order (Whose supposed to be a small extremist force) is going to get destroyed the moment they try to sail out of sight of the shore.

Right now we aren't talking about that. Go to the last thread and see the shit storm trying to flesh out origins for MGs, Gods, and the DL caused. For now, we are going with "No one knows, they just are." until people stop being autistic enough to settle on something, (which will be never.)

Potentially any side, assuming they don't just exist to do the will of the gods. Order soldier, mercenary, pirate, pro-wrestler, tavern brawler... the sky is the limit.

it depends entirely on how she expresses that addiction. If she goes "We must purge the monsters and their corruption from our land" she would appeal to the Red Order/Hardline Zealots in general. If she is addicted to the challenge and thrill, then she would be alone and seeking out strong targets, not really aligned to anybody. And so on

I like it, but I don't know how I like the monsterdie system thematically. I think these die should be racially based on the monstergirls race, not arbitrarily linked by desire.

>bitching about proper writing format
so what, you don't like stories that don't adhere to your writing standards?
and not only that, but complaining about quality content
because it's not like what made this board good was the inherent idea that you could share ideas with other people, no matter how bad and you would get a straight up critique that wasn't evasive shit like in Veeky Forums
not to mention that greentext is a way fucking harder style of writing than conventional styles
greentext stories are what made Veeky Forums into one of the best boards out there, not that an asinine twat like you would understand that

see with a side dish of "Who cares? We are getting way too hung up on gods when the interesting part of any setting is mortals."

>krakens
>Plural
The idea that there is more than like 2 or 3 in the entire world and that any of them give a crap about the Order (A moderately anti monster group) is kind of ridiculous. When you got a Kraken you aren't just dealing with her, you're dealing with all the shit following her to snag up the food and men she dumps into the ocean. Aggressive mermaids like the Shark type, Sea Harpies, smaller Scylla are all going to be in her wake adding to the danger.

>We're trying to make a realistic and "serious" take on MGE
>lol it's just fetish shit don't be so srs :D
You people are fucking obnoxious

Dude... just stop. It's bad enough that one autist dragged that shit into a new thread. As the user behind the greentext... it's not worth it.

>/mgr/
Monster Girl Rising?
Monster Girl Revengeance?
Meme General Raiden?

...

>Right now we aren't talking about that.
No, let's fucking talk about it instead of pussyfooting around this shit just so you can want off to your gay little anime waifus.
>Who cares
Yeah who cares worldbuilding is for fags lol. Why are you even on this board?

why are you here?

It's a top tier monster. The STRONGEST single thing in the ocean. Having a single one present is pretty much an insta win for any navy. It's a beast that can effortlessly ambush and annihilate even the greatest warships.

They are. That's why I'm just taking the setting from last thread's OP and working on it alone or somewhere less anonymous.

I could ask you the same, as it's clearly not for traditional games

Eventually we are going to have to duke it out.
It's pointless to make a setting with no foundation.

why are you here?

Can we just make a Monster Girl Rising parody storyline?

Oh no, we're bragging this shit into the new thread. There faggots here who thinks it's ok to rape people because "lol, it's just a porn setting" logic.

Is this original setting the revengeance coming up? Please let me heat my popcorn. I'm almost tempted to put up a bingo for what sorts of arguments will 100% crop up

why are you here?

he's not even talking about the settingwars user, just a minor feud over some dude hating the greentext format

That's but if the pirates and demons have them as well it isn't so much an instant win anymore. But the main question was what sea monster what would you like to have, not actually have on your team.

He's trying to restart arguments from last thread. ignore him

We tried talking about it last thread and we've come to the conclusion that there are too many people wanting completely different things from what's going on and will never compromise on anything because they are so fucking entrenched in their idea of what the setting must be that they aren't willing to work with others to make something that isn't a shit show. SO FUCKING DROP IT.

To make a decent MGE setting and kill monstergirls, why you are here?

So you mean the Red Order user?

...

Kindly reminder that the shitters are around, ignore and carry on

why are you here?

>So you have to attack a ship in a world of Monster Girls, who would you want on your crew?
If I'm picking one ocean-related monster type, Siren. Ability to actually be on my "crew" and not adjacent is positive. I'll also need some wax.

Probably want some marines for boarding action. Can minotaurs swim?

I agree with you there. However, unless we can vote on something (which is still going to be a shitstorm) then there isn't anyway we can do this. Between the Purists, the trolls, and the people trying to make something good, we got too much going on to make this work. It's why I'm just about done with this thread.

the Red Order, The Order, humans living outside of a demon realm, Order-aligned monstergirls that gain their free will back, it doesn't matter who spills the blood as long blood is spilled!

So we discussed maybe three sea-factions last time, pirate republic, Order aligned ship city state, and chaos sea witches.

Order payrolls it’s coasts and rarely ventures into open ocean.

What else to add?

The idea of having Krakens be some asset (Even a powerful one) greatly diminishes the fact it's a monster. A Kraken, or really any monster, behaving in a military capacity is just ridiculous. It's an incredibly rare and insanely powerful beast. Who is it really going to listen too?

The OP question is who would you have on your ships crew and the answer this reply chain is for is guy who wants a Kraken. The idea of that happening is ridiculous though, because it's going to get sick of taking orders within a week.

It's worth questioning what the foundation should be. I think we're going about it the wrong way if we're trying to make the foundation Divine Truth. The foundation should, instead, be the State of The World, as that's something able to be diverse enough that we can get at least most major factions of anons involved with space to tell/play out the stories they desire.

Do these songs invoke any parallels?

Unless they give it a mostly cushy job and has a partner who tries to keep her calm. That was me who asked for the kraken, and I was putting my self in a sailor's shoes. "I would like to have the protection during this escort mission but I doubt they are going to waste their time on a small run like this"

see pic related

That how I feel. Things were going well until we ran into anons with different opinions and nothing gets gone. I'm keeping the general, because there people here who actual get shit done and trying to make a RPG game out of it. No matter how shitty it gets, I'll march through it.

>trying
It is done. Moses descended from the mountains bearing stone tablets to lead us through the dark times. Gaze upon it:

That's wrong though. Gods aren't a foundation. Societies develop their Gods not vice versa. As such Gods should literally be the last thing we come up with after we define our general themes and the degree of hardship in the world. A noblebright setting is going to have very benevolent and kind gods. A darker setting the opposite. With the corruption (And thereby the war on corruption) angle gone we should ditch The Order as a nation entirely. They should just be an influential religion with a moderate anti monster background. Humans and their culture coming first.

Sometimes it's easy to make foundation Divine Truth by saying it's in the Canon, for example monsterboys and futa which none exist therefor no reason to discuss or add them into the setting.

they're all the same, we've said time and time again no one is using KCs MGE canon and still we lose time explaining to people that no one's using that, then we have guro or Red Order who just keep circling on and on about their side, when they can't even chip in on anything aside that, I was already penning some specialized Monster fighting Order units to add some variety, but feel like posting them now would add fuel to the fire, so i'll wait for a while
and then there's the "MGs are mysoginistic or heteronormative why can't we add my fetish into it?" /d/eviants who would turn it into random generic fantasy dare you enter my magical realm setting
My intent has and will be to make something out of something MGE based here on Veeky Forums because I believe we can get our heads together, and I'm always for it, don't feel discouraged user, you are not alone

greedy neutral human majority Merchant Nations/Republics

there's no reason to discuss even adding monsterboys into the setting because this is monster GIRL realms, we'd be throwing away our entire premise. It's literally the only fucking thing that's specified. Futa is just too magical realm I think, why would we include specific rules on that sort of stuff, we aren't making an ERPG.

I think that is still very much a work in progress, though I'm keenly interested in the quest the RPG user mentioned

>Order squire is found to have erectile dysfunction
after it saves his purity
>Eugenics programme ensues

That's... actually not a bad idea. I like it.

What I meant by a setting without no foundation is we're trying to make a setting, but nobody agrees how it all begin and who's good or bad.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic in that post but I'm going to respond as if you weren't.

It's fine if people have different opinions, that's what makes these kinds of threads good. It's when people aren't willing to back down from an idea and dig their feet in is when it goes down hill. To make things work, we have to be willing to let go of things or just settle with the idea that if we want to run this setting, we can change it on for our own games and not worry about the parts that we liked that didn't get in.

No two tables play an Eberron game the same way, even if they are playing the same pre-made campaign. Hell, I've ran the story in the back of the 13th Age core book a dozen times and it basically starts the same for the first 15 minutes then after that goes completely in different directions compared to the last group. But people don't seem to realize or care that such things like that can happen, they want their ideal setting to be this setting. Which is why I'm just going to be working on the last thread's OP setting alone for my own game. At least there, I can make something and if people don't like it, I can say "Well, that's my game. You don't have to play it."

And gods aren't the foundation? They're literally a means to an end. The origin story is important the gods could literally be called a, b, c and nobody gives a fuck really, It's wholly unimportant to the setting. It matters who the demonlord/chiefgod really are and how monstergirls and their relation to humans came to be, and that's not going to be solved by anything else than some creationstory, if it is to be solved

How much of a hold would they have in the southern seas? Are they hunting pirates as well?

To me, KCs MGE would be fine if the corruption is dialed back and the incubus/sucubus unlimited energy abuse is not an instant win. After that, I honestly don't give a fuck how many Not!Nations and factions you add in it.

Technically I think a ryu would be more valuable to a navy than a kraken.

No offense, but I think you're really off the mark. It's far easier to figure out what the setting is and -then- making up an origin story for it, rather than the other way around. It encourages creativity and participation.

And yet you still agree on some fundamental aspects that this world has to have, but not all are going to subscribe to all aspects that you put in, so when you build from the outside in in this way, and you work from different assumptions than somebody else, how are we supposed to join it all up in the end? Why wouldn't we just lay down the basics of the world and how it operates? It doesn't have to be an origin story, it needs to be some sort of foundation of agreed upon facts to keep it cohesive.

>It's fine if people have different opinions
Just because they have a different opinion, doesn't mean they can't be wrong
If people wanted to have monsterboys/futa, I would of told them they are in the wrong setting.

>if people don't like it, I can say "Well, that's my game. You don't have to play it."
That why people should SHUT THE FUCK UP and add the monsterboys/futa in their own monstergirl setting anyway

Well I think what provides a lot more freedom in regards to the religion is the idea that Monsters have simply always been monster girls. It's simply their origin. The Demon Lord(Dark God, whatever) doesn't HAVE to be a Succubus who gained power. They could be any mosnter. Or even a male incorporeal God. I feel it lends itself very well to a light hearted setting

I could see the reasons humans are the majority, with more advanced culture, and intellects, the fast rate at which humans reproduce compared to monsters, is because the "Chief God" isn't a creator, but rather their nature is Promethean. They chose humanity to receive gifts monsters didn't. While it loves us and wants us to advance, it is somewhat wary of monsters because of the risk they present in tempting us to slide back into our wild state. She thinks we would be most happy feeding our intellects and developing culture. As such her adherents are stoics, chaste and temperate, encouraging everyone to find satisfaction in contributing to culture and it's accomplishment

Speaking of our wild state our "Demon Queen" (A better concept would be Primal God) would be our actual creator. She made us, and all monsters, with our bodies, and our libidos, with all of them able to copulate and co exist because it's the state of existence she desired the world to exist in. Kinda like Yahweh if he was REALLY obsessed with the "be fruitful and multiply part". She wants us to be Primal. To succumb to our desires as what she thinks is the natural state at which we would be most happy. So her followers appear hedonistic. They want all groups to come together and find satisfaction in fulfilling their desires and perfecting the self.

>it needs to be some sort of foundation of agreed upon facts to keep it cohesive.
I need we need to keep a list of stuff that we universally agree in the OP so we can keep things cohesive.

since I got here I've been repeating again and again on corruption that it can wither be fought or kept in check (for a harder playability) like 40k's warp taint or L5R taint, last thread we were discussing about a plant item from the northern wastes that could've bee used to that effect or as a weapon

hard to say since there's no map, but so far from what I've read (and loved btw) while catching up was the idea of the pirate monsterqueen flotilla, the Order obvously having it's own anti-sea monster armada, and even literal HERE BE MONSTERS zones in the sea, I would argue that it would be better to have them all locked on zones with no upper hand, since these should make the players interested and invloved into expanding them
and also yes, pirates shoud have bounties on them... unless you are emplying them to fuck over a rival merchan nation

voting on NO, THIS ISN'T MGE CANON TO THE LETTER to start with, aye?

Sure a Ryu can call on weather and storms to shut down a whole coast or keep the skies clear in peace time for smooth sailing but in doing so she's always providing the same boons to both sides. A Kraken is a selective destructive force vs a Ryu's broad force. Want to prevent a naval invasion? Pray to Ryu for a Kamikaze. Want to win a naval battle with 1/10th their number of ships? Bring a Kraken.

That aside, my general stance is that these girls WOULDN'T be actively helping any side due to it not interesting them. Ryu's especially being benevolent to all humans would likely be neutral in such affairs.

The way I see it according to KC's Canon, it's always a back and forth between the humans and the monsters. If the current Demon Lord was a dragon, we would be playing a Skyrim Setting where dragons are much more powerful.
Normally another strong monster like a dragon would be the new Demon Lord, but the succubus was smart and seduce the strongest human at the time to help her gain the throne and be declare Demon Lord. Now it's a new era where succubus are much more powerful and taken humanity by surprise.

That story is simple and sticks to the Canon pretty well.

>Pray to Ryu for a Kamikaze attack
???
Do you mean a typhoon or something or do you literally want the ryu to go jihad on them??

>Pray to Ryu for a Kamikaze attack
>I'll see you on the other side my friends

You DO know that kamikaze planes were named after a mythological storm, right? It literally means "heavenly wind".

That's what made the OP last thread so shit.

And you just named the Gust move I was trying to name for the Angel Class for the DW game I'm working on.

Okay, and that means that is what a majority of people will perceive what you mean when you say that? If I call you a gay faggot I don't mean you are a happy cigarette bud

Kamikaze means "Divine Wind" and typically refers to "gods" or a general benevolent force being applied to a Typhoon. The first documented use of the word refers to the storm that prevented the Mongolian invasion of Japan in the 1200s was a "Kamikaze"

The terms Kamikaze meaning a suicide attack didn't exist until Americans noted the behavior of Japanese pilots.

Hey, cheers.

... Wait, there are angels in Deathwatch?

>since I got here I've been repeating again and again on corruption that it can wither be fought or kept in check (for a harder playability) like 40k's warp taint or L5R taint

That's one of the many things that I want people to universally agree with is how strong is the corruption.
Too many times I seen corruptfags go "HURR DURR YOU STILL HAVE FREE WILL EVEN IF YOU ARE CORRUPTED"
Yet, I'm reading the canon and the stuff sounds like something you turn your character over to the DM to be turn into a NPC(AKA DEAD).

Most people aren't going to be aware of what a "Ryu" is outside of a character of Street Fighter. We're talking about the help that a Japanese mythological creature is giving it's rather obvious that when we use a word with a dual meaning we'll be referring to the one with a basis in Japanese mythology.

>SO FUCKING DROP IT.
No. Like the other user said, without any foundation this whole thing is just ERP nonsense that nobody knows what they want out of.
