Last time on /5eg/
Say, your party finds a magical artifact that, upon completion of certain rituals, can make a single person into a god.
Would you trust any of your party members this tremendous power? Would your character trust himself with it?

>basketball fighters

I'd use it immediately and then kill myself so I can say I killed a god solo

I'd definitely keep it the hell away from my Necromancer.

Coffeelock

Actually, now that I say this, this is going to be the backstory for my new narcissistic Conquest Paladin.
A man who conquers the world to make it strong, so that one day that strong world will be strong enough to create a ritual that will let him transcend mortality and become a god.
And then, when he becomes one, he'll commit suicide, so that he goes down in history as the man who killed a god, and a man who could only be killed by a god.

Reposting here for the other dude who asked.
Didn't really know how to just make them not badTabaxi without making them kinda OP. I feel they're kinda weak as a showing for a race. Could probably merge the subraces into a singular race if you cared.

Ability Score Increase: +1 Str +2 Dex
Darkvision 60ft
Size: Medium
Languages: Thri-kreen, Common
Proficiency: Survival

Natural Armor: You have a Natural Armor score of 13 + Dexterity. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.

Natural Weapons: Your claws are natural weapons, which deal 1d4 + your Strength modifier damage.

Extra limbs: You have additional hands you can use to manipulate objects with. You can use an additional non shield or weapon object interaction (such as opening a door, throwing a vial of oil, or picking up an item) as a bonus action on each of your turns.

Subraces

Thri-kreen Ambusher: You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill, and while using your Natural Armor score, can change the color of your carapace to match your immediate surroundings. For the next hour or until you enter new surroundings you have Advantage on Stealth checks to Hide. Once you use this feature you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Thri-kreen Leaper: When you make a jump you can add your Dexterity score to the distance and height of any jumps you make.

When you take the Dash action your speed increases by 10ft for the rest of that turn.

In Volo's, it describes the Morkoth being able to make water as clear and as breathable as air. If you had an ocean of the stuff, would you be able to see the bottom? Or would the increased pressure change how visibility works?

Oh yeah their bite. Uh, could make it something they gain at 5th level.

Long rest thing. You can make a natural weapon attack to try to poison a creature, if it hits they have to make a Con save equal to 8 + prof + con mod. Fail they get poisoned for 1 minute and take an extra 1d4 poison damage.

What if the plans backfires and turning into a god makes you inmortal, or at least the way to kill you is way more convoluted than just stabbing yourself really hard.

I try to stab myself even hard. It's the same problem as whether god can make something so powerful even he can't destroy, I guess
Am I more powerful than my own body is tough upon ascending

No

Yes

>Have to make up an entire cleric domain because I have a bunch of saints that are based on clerical domains and I wasn't thinking and made a saint of joy

Fuck what's a good channel divinity for a joy cleric

DC vs Charm everyone in a 30 foot radius of you until they're attacked them or they make a save. They're charmed towards everyone of your choosing.
Alternatively, you jerk everyone off as an action

Something related to Calm Emotions or Charm.

I need some cool magic items for a half orc fighter please /5eg/. He's a thug type guy and wants to run a gang one day.

Best three will win the right to insert a NPC into my game. Any npc. I will post results from the session featuring it.

Any. Npc.

>He's a thug type guy and wants to run a gang one day.
Talk about low expectations. By the time you get magic items, you should want to run an army one day.

>Play Chaotic Neutral Rogue.
>Character is in it for money, hired professional, >But doesn't feel loyalty to the party. Loyalty to the client though.
>Sticks with party because it's been profitable so far.
>Rest of party are all Chaotic something.
>Part of the world we're in is well known for Slavery, My character is from around this place, all others are from other parts of the world.

>Everyone else in party is "Slavery is bad, we have to help the slaves"
>Puts our client in danger several times because "We have to get these slaves out of here!"
>My guy isn't exactly pro Slavery, But if you dont like the cold dont go to the north, If you dont like slavery stay out of the east
>Party decides to make a hideout for escaped slaves, i object but outvoted
>In a bandit camp we cleared out that used to be run by slavers. i point out we didn't kill all the slavers some escaped.
>In the middle of a dark forest, It's got some cave kobolds nearby
>2 days travel from a slaving town, i point out how close it is
>NOPE, 2 sessions escorting a wagon of slaves back to this forest.
>Another session where we built a slave village for them. Whole time Client is just patiently waiting

I've got contacts in the slave village nearby.
I'm thinking about selling them out for information our party needs, but not telling everyone else.
I hate that we're tied down to this place.

Is this a dick move?

Pic kinda related, I'm a swashbuckler.

I don't know if you know it, but he was inspired by the story of "Half-Orc Bro". The slave who became a boss, a boss who became a big boss, and big boss who saved the world. All because he wanted to make his father and friends happy.

Hm, well, look. Ultimately it's a team game, D&D. If you want to play your character straight you should probably just have him skip out on this, get some downtime, report back to the client on your own accord. Let them play hero.

You're loyal to the client yeah? Sticking with the party has been profitable thus far yeah? If you rat out the "village" your contract is threatened, as is future cash you could have in your pocket. Plus you could make some powerful enemies.
If you don't want your dude to become an antagonist I'd avoid getting enthralled in that. It may be boring but you might just have to wait out and let your pals play Minecraft while you accrue downtime or just play along.
Because "this is stupid but I'm still getting paid."

Think of it from another perspective - you're playing with a guy and everyone in the party has the same mentality except for one guy. You all keep outvoting him and he clearly has his own agendas.
Then you do all your story shit, suddenly the DM tells you that you got fucked because own-agenda guy decided to do his own thing for a bit. Most people would be annoyed.
In the end, if your character doesn't mesh with the group's interests, your character would likely go off on his own and find people who do, or the group would kick him out. Heck, if most of my characters figured out there was a snitch in the group who would sell out our efforts for his own agenda I'd just kill him instead and find a replacement.

Eldritch sight or Devil's Sight for my lvl 2 half elf lock?

>Is this a dick move?
Sort of. Depends on how soon you choose to act on it and how well you can keep from getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

I say help for now, suggest to party of lightly arming slaves.
When you get back to the main mission, tell party you have a contact of reliable information. Make deal, but using thieves cant (assuming your the only rogue) let them know that the slaves are armed, so they dont think you're sending him into a trap.
If there is another rogue, dont inform the contact.
If party questions your actions/discover you sold out the slaves, remind them that it was your idea to supply them with weapons and that the slavers wont be expecting that.
If the slaves make it out then they earned their freedom.
if they get caught/killed, hey they had their chance.
Get the group back on track with your newly acquired infromation

Eldritch is a lot more useful in a lot more situations. It's always really, really good. Devil's is stronger but only once in a great while unless you are specifically planning to create the darkness yourself.

Devil's Sight always
It's the best darkvision in the game. The only downside of it is that it doesn't turn dim-light into bright-light, but you're a half-elf so you do that already.

How would you all play a glamour bard? or a bard of any kind? I really want to give them a try.

Except that one of the biggest features of Warlock is guaranteed advantage/enemy disadvantage using Darkness + Devils' Sight. You set it up before a fight or even in a fight and you can slap most fights silly

Nah that Client is done,
Mid way through his quest (We broke into a Slaver camp to recover an item) We freed the slaves and i argued "We've done our bit for them you guys are free to go"
And the barbarian ended up tackling and hurting slaves because he wanted to save them all,
Everyone else kind of just went along with it.

We've all moved onwards to escort the client home. The Client doesn't care anything about the slaves.

I've spent the last few sessions kind of, twiddling my thumbs while they talk to the slaves and set up a camp site near a poisoned oasis.
Started a fight with some passing slavers for no real reason instead of bluffing our way past them. You know unnecessary combat.

I might check it past the DM and get their opinion. If they've gone through so much hard work coming up with stuff that could happen with the salves i don't want to have him to just throw that all out.

I'm not a physic, but ocean (and sky) is blue because water absorb red and green light first and turn it into heat. And since water is much denser than air it absorb it more effectively, thus light pierce water much harder than air.
If "clear and breathable as air mean" water loses it density, then yes, but it also mean the water will just dissipate into air.

However the fuck I want. Sticking to class norms is boring as hell.

Sure it's a very strong combo, setting aside the potential for fucking over party members. However if you aren't planning to routinely use it, Eldritch sight is more useful. Find magic items, find magical traps, detect magic auras, etc etc.

Okay, while I see your point it doesn't exactly point me in any directions.

All right my negroes who ready for another UA that's not Food&Provisions?
Also I bet it's gonna be even more elf shit

>not Food&Provisions
Give me Food and Provisions, or give me death.

pic related for a glamour bard

>Dark Sun would be the perfect setting if it didn't have psions
Why are psionics so stupid /5eg/?

It doesn't fuck over allies in the slightest. You cast it on yourself and your allies never interact with it at all. Ranged characters in your team can use it as cover as well, walk out, shoot, walk back. Why even play Warlock if you aren't going to abuse one of the best combos in the entire game? Besides you can always pick up Eldritch Sight later on if you feel there's a lot of magic shenanigans enough to warrant it that you can find out normally, but it makes fights a hell of a lot easier, whereas you likely aren't going to find anything magic stuff significant enough at level 2

Decanter of Endless Hair Gel, Goggles of Bright Sun and Leather Armor of Blinking Stars.

Just give him a bunch of guns so he his and his posse can pop faggots

Not falling for this shit again.

>Why even play Warlock if you aren't going to abuse one of the best combos in the entire game?
Fuck you, I hope your DM forces you into their magical forest. Faggot powergaming MMO scrub.

If I was your DM I’d demand money just for catering to your videogame RPG needs.

Hahahaha what the fuck
>it's illegal to use good combos fuck you pay me

You're the guy who plays a fighting game then only uses a single combo and character based on tier lists, aren't you?

Go play WoW you /v/ictim.

What time do the UA's normally drop?

You're saying an already weak class can't use a cladd defining combo without being a powergamer.
Fuck right off.

>when the legendary powergaming 'no fun allowed' sperglord himself immediately goes into ad hominem mode because someone dare opted to say a combo is good

And I assume you're someone who adamantly refuses to play good characters because you're a hipster, but then complains when the people who actually rise in ranks and learn their characters beat you?

>Why even play Warlock if you aren't going to abuse one of the best combos in the entire game?
>someone dare opted to say a combo is good

If you can't see the difference here you are beyond help.

>combat-focused dnd edition
>surprised when someone suggests a combat-focused combo
i can guarantee that if he talked about using darkness in rp you wouldn't have bitched, but then you'd try to pretend that detect magic is even better in rp

Dude it's just fucking boring when you do the same thing ever fight.

...

Go back to Gaia forums you RP shitter. No one cares about your safespace fantasies

Dude it's just fucking boring when you do nothing but spam detect magic and invalidate all forms of magic investigation stop ruining my rp with your metagaming reeee

>Player rolls a wizard level 1
>Takes sleep
Man I can't wait for every encounter to be put to sleep fucking powergaming faggot he should take nothing but non combat divination spells and RP his way out of it all

what are you even talking about my dude

man i dunno but this one roleplay fag is getting annoying

I think it's just the shitposter who's been trying to delet all homebrew and accuses people of samefagging. He's usually up at this hour.

>Stephanus Eoforwine Vuman
>Grappler Feat
>Expertise in Athletics, Nature, Survival and Animal Handling
>Hire an NPC to paint/sketch your awesome wildlife expeditions
>Exclusively fight animals and never go for the kill, just pin and talk about what a 'beaut it is

>you're not allowed to say anything all about combat in 5e without the same faggot who jumps at everyone calling you a metagamer powergamer minmaxer for dare suggesting combat uses of abilities on some of the better combat classes known for doing combat things
Yeah man

Yep you are definitely him.

Would Defensive Duelist be a better feat if you just had to be wielding a weapon to use it? Why does it HAVE to be a finesse weapon? Why can't I parry with a greatsword or halberd or double axes?

Yeah just jump at shadows faggot, I've seen you do this shit in so many threads now

I'm sure you have.

Some pretty thick irony going on here.

David Bowie in Labyrinth and in general

The moment some fucking retard stops paying attention to the story so they can pretend they’re xXAssMaster69Xx the rogue whose only background story is “He deals X damage a round by using this combo that heavily relies on the DM being a mentally handicapped videogame AI”, they’re out of the fucking group and blocked.

How fucking autistic do you even have to be to think your minmaxing bullshit will fly in any game. You might as well go back to jerking off to anime porn. :)

Why don't you go accuse some more people of being whoever the fuck you want them to be so you can bitch about combat and minmaxing freely without any chance of anyone arguing with you? You'd like that would you faggot

You first.

keep posting
please

xxxxxd so funny
No but really stop shitting up the thread you faggot

>2:58:58
>2:58:57

N-nani!?

>he keeps going

The other night i posted a custom monster, the shy crawler. Reporting success. Party got super into it, and i called an audible and didn't make them get detected by proximity when they closed their eyes and wandered around. They felt super rewarded for figuring it out, and got super into it, even closing their eyes OOC and having me roll everything until they found a place they thought they were safe to see.

Sure do

Multiple devices obviously but nah it's one guy out to get him when he spergs at the drop of a hat

>requires dm fiat
No it doesn't.
An enemy that can't see you grants advantage om your attack, that's a built in mechanic.

>it's hard to post on multiple devices/use 4chanX/whatever

Cool monster design, glad they like it too.

>Editing out the (You)s
(You)

This level of paranoia is great.

See
(You)

>one is literally phone Veeky Forums
>thinks (you)s mean anything
>it's hard to be a faggot and bypass the IP shit
>it's hard to edit

I miss when the height of shitposting around here was just that one guy who posted Marcille all the time.

Pls come back, I miss u bby.

I don't even know if you're all the same or not, but whoever is raging this much needs to take a break.
Go take some time away from this whole thing, maybe for like a week?
Then come back with a clear head.
Either that or go visit /40k/ and watch them RAEG over whether Slaagle or Tzorne is the better God-Couple.

>playing artificer (alchemist)
>the usual tactic of flying on a mechanical bird and dropping hot loads like it's 'nam is getting boring AND stopped by the existence of a vile construct known as the ceiling
>after some fuckery DM lets me build a handheld Sauterelle out of my light crossbow
>mfw light crossbow range with all my flasks
>mfw I just bought a heavy crossbow this session
>mfw we have two ballistae on the party's ship we use to travel between islands
even with his scatter rules I can reliably hit shit at long range since he allows trading damage dice for extra splash radius on the flasks
it makes it even funnier that he allows taking sharpshooter and crossbow expert to reduce the scatter

You don’t even play d&d do you?

You certainly don't with your obsession of bitching at anyone who tries to play DnD in the way it was intended

>this quick to defend himself that he screenshots his garbage en masse
Fucking damage control lmao

Mobile is incapable of cropping like that my man.

I seriously love this. I didn't even have to try.

You fuckin guys seriously.

The first one is the mobile you retard
>cropping
Fucking foolproof story

>tfw no qt elf to eat monsters with

Not necessarily a d&d question but there is no rpg general board so...
>What do you all think about competitive RPG games?
Not necessarily PvP. My idea is sort of a race where the party has to work together otherwise they'll get fucked. But while working together they need to sneakily fuck each other over and try to one up everyone else. Sort of like the Black Crusade glory system.
How would you implement this if at all?

>I'm only pretending

Please explain how the first one is mobile

>its all a ruse guys!
ha le master turoll xd

All I did is post a screenshot with lucky timing; I'm not pretending about anything.

You guys do this shit to yourselves.

>I'm not shitposting at all but I'm also just pretending
>baited y-you
