What are you working on /aosg/?
I am working on the first Irondrake of the Red Embers.

Don't listen to these idiots, don't be another PG and don't take Tzeentch until they will nerf him, take any other army.

OP is a faggot. You'll have your soup and you'll like it too.

That OP pic. Post source and post MOAR!

stupidly posted this last thread after it was saging. So I'm having trouble coming up with lore for my dudes that I like. I just reread the crap I posted last week about my stormcast work in progress and I realized it really sucks. are there any novels that talk about the Stormhosts, and really who they are over who individual generals are? I've seen plenty of examples of the latter but not a lot of the former.

War Storm.

Have you read the battletome?

Friendly reminder that if your dudes fluff isn't grimderp, tongue in cheek or referential, then you're doing it wrong.

Go to bed, slav.

GHoN seems really fun and the high number of gravesites negates some of my fears of character dependence. For the tide of the damned it seems spot on.

LoS seems fun, I haven't tried it yet but a boost to magic with some anti snipe things thrown in seems like the way to go, sad they didn't add some sort of Battleline for this though.

LoB is my baby, it's pretty much just my old VC which is neat, there is no getting around that BK aren't gonna make it across the table though, no regen has really hurt them, if they do they have great potential though. Again wish we have a battleline alteration here, or what I really had wished, some sort of vampire that isn't a lord and cost a ton!

LoN I have no idea about, Manlet has never been mah boi so I haven't tried it.

Big Morathi tits right in my face

I'll grimderp you, you fucking twat.

Heya anons, anybody wanna have a little go at my Bretonnian army list? How fast could you table me? :P

My friends are being real cool dudes and letting me mix the old compendium rules with the new Free People's alligiance, so I can pretty much mix my Bretonnians with Free Peoples as much as I want. It was mainly because I wanted my peasants to become battleline,
and have a giant ass monster

>his fluff doesnt span countless generations of his people's history and their struggles, explaining how their culture, traditions, beliefs and even his army composition came to be in AOS
Pathetic desu.

LoN, LoS and especially the grand host seem really good. I think they did a good job with the command traits across most of the allegiances, but LoS getting Dark Acolyte made the book a sucess to me. Having a "my dude" lich leading my skellies has been a dream come true for me.

Besides the lack of models I think the lack of battalions were the only real dissapointment.

Oh yeah some of the batalions were a total fart in a cup of water.

Court of Nulahmia is a vague atempt to get you to make one of those god awful not-coven thrones for little if any gain.

MotD seems fun though, and the first cohort, if you are playing Nagash anyway, seems fine.

Sup, /aosg/. Tell me about your dudes.

Here you go, enjoy

Pic sauce

Everyone who plays AoS is a person who is to be judged on their character and not to be judged on what tabletop system they use to battle with their plastic toy soldiers.

Is that you Ovaa?

...

Yes

you cheeky devil

>Grand Host of Nagash Allegiance
>Legion of Night Allegiance
>Legion of Blood Allegiance
>Legion of Sacrament Allegiance
I can wholehearted not say which or if one of them is superior to others. They all have pretty good traits. LoB might be the most specialised, On the other hand: the bravery debuff stacked with the banner debuff is pretty solid.

>new Death Allegiance
>new Soulblight Allegiance
new? Death surprisingly still solid with the 12" auras and soulblight has still its retreating and charging vlozds, so...

they are all good but it ofc depends on want units you have in your army.

Holy shit user, this makes me want to do the same for army.

Go for it user. Looking forward to see it then

Soulblight got nerfed, user.

Vargheists aren't battleline anymore.

Your dudes are awesome

stay away with your degenerated bastards!

Monsters NOT wielding the items they drop in battle...

Quick question: How does the Knight of Shrouds' Ethereal ability (ignore all modifiers to saves, both negative and positive) interact with the Cloaked in Shadow command trait? Usually, I'd assume it wouldn't work at all, but given that Cloaked in Shadow is only availiable to models that have Ethereal in the first place I'm not so sure.

It doesn't work anymore. Hopyfully it will be FAQ'ed.

The fire part of the fyreslayers is limiting their concept as a faction from development through thematically specialised ramifications.

dumb question, but can a maggotkin alliance take a demon prince with a mark of nurgle? is the maggotkin tome maggotkin alliance or just nurgle alliance?

As long as it has the Nurgle Keyword you are fine

>reading rules is hard
Does it have the Nurgle keyword? Yes? Then you're good to go.

So what does a decent Fatesworn list look like that doesn't just spam Marauders/Spawn to fill the pre-reqs?

It looks like this
-magister
-spawn x9
-200 marauders
Bam

Here is the fluff for my Dispossessed army.
pastebin.com/804FLTQc

True. I thought lightning/Thor themed Fyreslayers would be cool but fire is just too much a part of their identity. And good luck with the magmadroth conversions.

Fire is formless, so they could go the Daemon of Fire/Avatar of Grimnir route.

Why are your dudes in the realm of death?

My Beastclaw kept getting annoyed by the various portents and omens, their food kept getting up and walking off, it kept turning rancid.

Then a cute gobbo sought them out and promised them fresh meat in Shyish as well as opportunity to get revenge on the guys behind the things ruining their food.

Fire doesn't have to be red/orange.

Look up those science videos.

Still fire.

There's invisible fire. I know it looks funny, but that shit is terrifying.

Standard Lizardmen reasons of defending the world, kicking butt, maybe get to fight some Chaos along the way.

I'm going to regret going down this rabbit hole for valentine's

well, to be fair it's rather stupid to come up with: i can't model my fyreslayers to lyghtningslayers and get lyghting abilities.

no you can't and you shouldn't
it's like converting half-gryffin free peoples riders to dragon riders and complaining that they can't breath fire.

Except with freeguild you COULD put them on dragons and it'd be just fine with minimal fluff changes. Fyreslayers are fire this fire that.

...

I don't regret you going down this rabbit hole for valentine's. At all.

Dude, I'm at work! I can't fap now!

>you will never have a Keeper of Secrets so badass
>you will never have a Bretonnian bro to play with
>you will never play a narrative campaign where his champion is on a sacred quest and you try to stop him
>Warhammer will never look so heroic ever again

Nice work!
Did you decide on a selection yet or is that still in flux?

I'm not that drawanon, just doing some community service

So, they posted this pretty much meme army on the FB account, and I've been wondering about it.

With some LIberators instead of the Handgunners for a bit of a melee frontline and capability for capturing objectives, would this army be at least slightly viable?

The Firestorm allegiances are overlooked but very viable competitively. I think it just confuses people and they fear what they don't understand.

Number of battletomes for each race in AOS:
> humans 5
> demons 3
> dwarfs 2
> elves 2
> undead 2
> orcs 2
> rats 1
> ogors 1
> grots 0

What would you make instead?

Azyrite thunderdorfs?

>demons 3

> humans 5
> demons 3
> dwarfs 2
> elves 2
> undead 2
> orcs 2
> lizards 1
> rats 1
> ogors 1
> grots 0

Added lizards

Not with that attitude.

Being forced to take the shitty Gyrobomber and -copter is a real detriment.
Without those shitheaps you could take a Hurricanum instead of the Luminark.
I'd also consider exchaning the liberators for freeguild guard.

this is what I came up with when the lord was spoiled

>units of 10 handgunners
>implying that's not completely useless (its thematic I suppose tho)

You'd be better off with archers or swordsmen; the former lets you make a bonus move pre-turn 1 to make screening walls against teleports and charges, the latter is just a great tarpit.

>wanted to make boiled desert ghouls
>now have the urge to paint them from the realm of azyr with lighting effect and glow eyes

All this bringing back of WHFB characters is confusing. They blew up the old world, but the races all survived and travelled through the universe in various ways, and mortal characters even survived thousands of years somehow.

Would have made more sense t just have each race escape through a realmgate into the 'real' (new) 8 realms somehow, and cut out the thousands of years completely, so everyone basically moved house to a new realm.

Could even keep the old world as a separate realm, albeit nuked.

Its a pity that their Endless Legions ability wont see much use, since you gotta save points for it.

I think you should sell me all of your brets

DEATH to the false edition and all those who follows it AAAAAAAAAAAHHH

Any non-smartass answers?

The equivalent of the Allpoints?

>Warhammer will never look so heroic ever again
I disagree. It now has the most heroic characters ever.

ONLY THE FAITHFULL!

Bunch of warrior with a shrine, then you can mystic shield them if you want for even more rerollan
The rest all your mortal wound output

Anyone got the others of these pics?

Yeah a core of 27 Warriors, Warshrine, Gaunt Summoner+Balewind and Sayl seems like a good starting point. Not 100% sure how to fill out the remaining 900 points but attached is what I've come up with.

na, i'm not convinced
there is no reason you could not make frostbyrn slayers fluff wise
the only real obstacle is the adaptation of the abilities and stuff
otherwise convert the crap out of your dudes

>I like tzeentch
>list is basically slaves to darkness
I'm not a fan of so many knights, they don't hit that hard even with fatesworn.

Id get more mortal wounds in there m8.
Drop the Lord on manticore, get a LoC
The Ogorid has a good spell against hordes
Skyfires are still alright

this isn't the hammers of sigmar battlecry...

...

Grand Host, Sacrament, and Night all seem really good. The former two have great spellcasting while the latter has a great deployment ability that lets you anvil with +1 save skeletons and hammer with outflanking units

Blood is good, too, but it seems to only benefit melee armies that move forward and hit stuff.

...

>everything i dont like is soy and/or jews
Why cant the left meme

Stop replying and start reporting then

lmao there are no ghouls native to azyr

sigmar purged all the degenerate shit after he closed the gates

i thought sigmar specifically purged everything with the taint of chaos?

>Sigmar giving a fuck about Death or Destruction guys

Actual, unironic /pol/ack here; I don't know what the fuck Stormcast are supposed to have to do with soy/bugmen beyond being popular, so it's probably just some shitheel spouting /pol/ memes to try and stir up trouble.

...

Except it isn't a meme, it's harsh truth.

After mulling it over I agree. The only thing limiting you is your imagination and conversion skills. You can easily headcanon the runesmiter's tunnel ability to be a lightning teleport or something and you can pretend your magmadroth breathes lightning.

Ghouls are cannibals who become cursed under the influence of a ghoul king no?

Why would any of this occur in azyr, the richest and most civilised realm there is?

Its not like they're going to starve or resort to cannibalism

The white dwarf ebooks on the pastebin are all fucked, I can't read anything fonts don't show up, images are all over the place, in my computer or the tablet. I never use ebooks and suck at this, how do I fix this?

>Why would any of this occur in azyr, the richest and most civilised realm there is?
Be creative! It's a near-infinitely large setting meant to satisfy Your Dudes.

Maybe some great beast reduced a kingdom to ruins and the populace has now resorted to cannibalism.

Maybe after the realmgates opened a ghoul king traveled to azyr and began a rampage.

Maybe there was a secret vampire society in Azyr all along, and recently they started feeding on each other and were driven to madness.

>Why would any of this occur in azyr, the richest and most civilised realm there is?

After Sigmar was forced to abandon the other Realms and retreat to Azyr, he went about vigorously purging his city of Chaos infiltrators, rebels, and other seditious/anarchistic elements who were fighting in the streets. It might be possible for some of those people to have fled the city out into Azyr's wilds, whereupon they eventually degenerated into cannibalism to survive.

projecting doesn't count as the turth.
