1st for Ariadna

First for "around Haqqislam never be calm"

Dang it. Anyways, what're y'all working on? I'm getting started on a Su-Jian.

Dabbling with Aristeia minis.

Hopefully this thread won't be filled with EI shills.

Planning basing for Tractor Mul Minesweepers and “Dozer (Tractor Mul Control Device)”

Remove those base mold lines, ffs.

Which Star Trek Race would you say Tohaa are closest to?

I have like 8 figures just sitting in baggies and blister I should really put together.

Getting started with my first minis for this game. Druze looked neat, and just got a brand new army for themselves

Cool. Are you starting directly with Druze Bayram Security or did you just happen to pick up a box of Druze?

Figured I'd go with the DBS. Box of the new druze, plus La Muet for my 150 list.
Scarface...saito, hacker chick and ??? for 300?
I played the game in '07, but haven't been back until now, so I have no clue anymore

For a 150 point list you'll want a few more orders. For 150 point games, I'd say you at least want 7-8 orders. 5 is too low. For some cheaper orders you have two choices:

The first is Fugazi. They are only 8 points and so they are the cheapest regular orders you can bring. DBS can bring two, so you could pick up a PanOceania Remote Box (pic related) and proxy them. It will also give you access to the 4 PanO remotes in DBS, which are very useful units. The only downside of this is that Remotes a more expensive than regular trooper models, it's about 25-30 dollars for only two models.

The other option is getting some Authorized Bounty Hunters or Brawlers. They're not the cheapest line infantry to back up more expensive units, but it's what you got in DBS. The weird thing here is that Authorized Bounty Hunters have one really old rifle model and one very questionable motorcycle model available for buying (the motorcycle is only fielded when they roll it on the Booty table). Brawlers also do not currently have models. So maybe the best way to go about these guys is to proxy them. People have talked about how Fusiliers would make good Brawlers, but Ghulams would probably work fine too if you want to buy them instead for future expansion into Haqqislam. It's really up to you, just make sure you use another faction's cheap basic line infantry for the proxy.

Hunzakut is a reliable pick. Dronbots too. And then there's Bashi Bazouks as well, and something to proxy as Brawlers.
Aside from Anaconda, DBS is very much lacking in bad options. Once you've gotten the core Druze team and a good specialist or two, you can pretty much expand in whatever direction you please.

Saw the abbreviation DBS and thought I was on the wrong board for a second.

Anyways, if you want a suggestion for "???" you'll probably want Dronbots box, and/or the other PanO remotes box. A linked Clipper seems like a core gimmick. Hunzakut's also missing from your list along with Bashi Bazouks.

Last game I played was facing Druze and by goodness the most annoying things were being spotlit by Valerya to then be speculative shot with grenades from the Druze in a link as well as hit by guided missiles, and Bash Bazouks flanking me (also this Hunzakut who was annoyingly lucky but that's besides the point).

Nice, was about to start painting mine. Really nice for preassembled plastic.

Really appreciate all of the helpful comments. I've got a solid to-buy list now.

I'm mainly running that low order list for now because it's what I have in front of me, and I'm ok losing hard while I come to grips with the game.

They are like cardassians, but with a huge boner for the number 3.
Actually, they arent much like cardassians outside of being self important assholes who couldnt into honesty/honor if it killed them.

That said no Star Trek race is a perfect fit. I cant remember any race that uplifts others as servants.

Which profile do your more often use of the Cube Jaeger? The SMG or the BSG? I'd imagine people use the SMG for suppressive fire and being slightly cheaper but I've had a lot of love for BSG AD units in the past and wouldn't imagine it being any different. I was thinking of converting one.

SMG just seems more useful overall.

Thanks for the heads up

I've never used it, but cheaper is better on a disposable troop. The BS template seems great for gunning down cheerleaders, but the SMG looks like it has all the tacticool to fuck with your opponents best units and get the most out of that AD.

Did you just glue them to the base? No modelling putty as "mud"? Pity, Traktor muls make nice thread tracks if you press them on soft putty.

>Traktor muls make nice thread tracks if you press them on soft putty
Just so you know, I'm stealing that idea.

Yeah, shame the effect isn't as pronounced on my own muls, as they were based way back when they were still on 40mm bases and there isn't much area to show left under the actual model.

What's a good Haqqislam list for a new player? I've literally never played. I ordered a box that includes the haqqislam starter pack and a Al Fasid, and I would like to use those troops but I can use proxies for additional stuff.

Sorry, for reference I meant this starter pack. 3 Ghulams with rifle+light shotgun, a Zhayedan with breaker rifle+light shotgun, a Khawarij with rifle+shotgun and a Tuareg with sniper rifle. Plus the big robot.

It sort of depends what you want to do with it honestly, you can do a lot of stuff with Haqqislam. The Red Veil starter is also pretty good, it gives you a little over 100 points to play with. That's a lot.

Here are things I would recommend to proxy first off. You can easily proxy one Ghulam as a Doctor Plus, and you should do so. Doctor Plus is Haqqislam's unique thing and it's pretty bullshit. No reason not to. Proxy Khawarij as Spitfire Khawarij. The Khawarij is a bit expensive for a 1 wound no modifiers model, but Fatality Lvl 2 is some bullshit too, so that's a solid choice. Tuareg is really good as a Doctor or Hacker because of her infiltration, though the sniper is a fine ARO piece if you don't mind deploying her in your back field.

Play around with the army maker and look at what miniatures you think is cool. Try to aim somewhere between 13-16 models for a starting army. You will want a few powerful pieces to kill things (Al Fasid and Khawarij fill this roll) and a few reactive turn pieces to pin down your enemy but probably die in the process (Tuareg could work in this role with Sniper), along with some specialists to do missions (Tuareg Hacker, Ghulam FOs).

Very early stages of my first Yu Jing model.

Then I have to build a couple more guys to make my 300 point tourney list.

Then I have to learn to play competitively and Yu Jing in general.

This has been circling around facebook. Opinions people ?

>Opinions people ?
My opinion is I'm not sure what's trying to be communicated here.

Looks Yu Jing, with Sun Tze's bad version and some other unknown unit. Maybe jap related.

>Japs have had Enough with with Party and want out of Yu Jing.

Looks like either Kempeitai non-aligned faction or Invincible are on the way.

Out of curiosity how is the Invincible Army supposed to work? All I have heard is all HI, all the time.

acon explodes

5 man IP link, probably zanshi core as well
hac tao possibly costing less points

>Zuyong links, possibly with Shang Ji hackers in them
>Zhanshi links that nobody cares about
>Guijia probably
>some support like Yan Huo, Sun Tze, Tiger Soldiers and Daofei/Hac Tao
So basically it's Zuyong links right now. Most of the hype aside from that is for the potential of HI docs/engineers, HI combat jump, that sort of thing. I'm expecting another LI/MI/SK support unit as well.

>hac tao possibly costing less points
Where are you getting this from? Sectorial point drops don't seem very likely, especially for units the sectorial isn't based around. It's kinda shitty too, stealing thunder from the things IA is really about when Hac Tao see more than enough play as it is.

Sun Tze's had enough and is going to join a cooler faction.

Someone else can have the Marksman version, nobody uses him here.

>Steel Rain (Tiger Soldiers plus a rumored new AD troop)
>Linked Zuyong (although it's less tantalizing with Haramaki and Riot Grrrls being things)
>Linked Shang Ji
>Possibly Hac Tao or Daofei
>Definitely Yan Huo, which well better be supplemented by a core link team.

I would actually be more hyped about a Huang Di/White Banner sectorial, because I love Daofei, Shaolin Monks, and Guilang.

Haramaki don't get HMGs, specialists or tinbots. Zuyong will be significantly more versatile than even the mixed links.
And Riot Grrls are disgusting Nomad scum.

Starting playing Infinity again with some Recon. Just wanted to share my 2'x3' board from last night.

Recon is pretty fun despite some balance problems with the tiny boards, it's refreshing not to have to worry about 300 points on either side.

You guys see Recon+?

rocketshipgames.com/infinity/recon /
Has a few changes, and also makes dispersion distances smaller to help account for the tiny boards. Also updated to ITS9

Still has weapon range "oddities" cause of the board, but hey. Little squad wars.

Haven't seen it. Will look at it tonight. I don't mind the range bands on 2'x3'. I need to buy some boards to make my tiny table a 4x4 for 200 point games though

Is this an existing piece of art that's been modified, or a new one?

There's an MO version too. My thoughts on it is, "who gives a fuck". It's not telling me anything, and it looks like someone in CB just chose a word that might sound cool as a teaser.

Obviously with about 5 weeks til adepticon, it's the start of the teaser/promo campaign for the big controversial news.

so what non-aligned armies are coming?

It was our first glance of the new(er) Guija somewhere in the N3 book.you can see its cropped torso still behind Sun Tzu.

>PanO and YJ troops on Svalarheima join forces and declare independence
>Svalarheima Winter Force and White Banner are joined in an Unaligned army

>Nisses with Shaolin smoke
damn

Beayhan security at least, I believe.

Please not yet, I haven't even painted my old ones yet, I don't want to have to proxy them if they redo the models and weapons on them.

Japanese Secessionist Army

>White Star Merc company
Although I wouldn't expect them so soon after we just got a similar Merc company

>O-12
I think someone said they are confirmed, but definitely won't be this year.

>Some aliens
Would be really surprised if we didn't get this at some point

I'd be unironically super elated about this.

Not just for Shaolin Smoke with Nisses, but also linkable Zhanshi or Fusiliers with Guilang, Daofei, and possibly even being able to field Jotums. Such a sectorial might be too powerful though.

All of this faction and event teasing, speculating, leaks and misinformation and yet the most important info is not given!
Soldiers of Fortune out WHEN?!

March

>There's an MO version too.
I haven't seen this. Where?

The ariadna haq hybrid too.

What would you expect from an Outrage 2?

Another kind of mediocre character pack that has no usability in the game.

I would have no idea what to expect.
What I'd like though would be an Uhahu solo comic, about her backstory. Or possibly even a series of prequels, fleshing out the secondary cast, like Nakadai or Beba.

Or just use one of the existing fluff bits and expand it into a comic, like Games-Workshop does with their Horus Heresy series. Every 40k fan knows how it ends, but they read the books regardless. Similarly I wouldn't sniff at a Scarface, Bran Do Castro or De Fernsen comic. Or even just a short one describing Penthesilea's Ariadna Adventure.

What is Penthesilea's Ariadna Adventure?

I want a Lucien Sforza Bounty Hunter story. Don't mind if he has to be the villain chasign Uhahu or whatever.
Zoe & Piwell also have great potential as characters.

Looks like they replaced the backstory for this mini with the generic Penny in the catalog.
Basically she chased a Speculo Killer (IIRC) to Dawn, but couldn't bring her super bike along due to some legal reasons. So she stole a Kum one from a caravansery (apparently killing some gang members in the process) and ended up causing mayhem as the angry Kum chased her as she chased the alien across Dawn.

Are we in the weekend slump already?

Watcha playing/painting/buying

Contemplating buying into shock army, gimme your best argument you teal homos

has someone aggregated all the good LVO/Cancon seminar content?

Content with my very large collection of ISS/YJ so far. Once Invincible Army drops I will pick it up immediately. Also would like to get JSA once Keisotsu stop being potato midgets. There are some other armies that interest me, but I almost all my stuff is still chrome or white. I'll consider another army outside YJ once I've made a dent in that paint backlog.

>2018 release schedule

Bakunin explodes on a semi-daily basis, work as usual for the Moderator Corps.

Not playing this weekend, but building lists for next weekend's tournament. Painting Aleph. Resisting buying models for my second army, I'm not planning to play this army for at least 6 months (becoming proficient with my first army before I play a second).

Just watch the Cancon video, it's uploaded to youtube in good quality and they both have all the same info more or less.

Thinking of getting into the game but I am conflicted whether I should collect either the combined army or steel phalanx. Give me reasons on which one I should collect

Just get ahead of the rest of the human sphere and go combined

Link?

t. sepsitor victim

Play Steel Phalanx if you want a straightforward army. Run at the enemy and then beat them to death with your superior stats, equipment and weapons. Army is based around recreations of characters from the ancient Greek mythology/history, such as Achiles, this army is the most special character based of any army in the game. SP is a "sectorial" army of Aleph.

Combined army is way more versatile and has a variety of setorials under its banner if you want specialized playstyles - Morat for a straight forward somewhat Steel phalanx style, Shasvastii for stealth trickery, Onyx for... whatever they do or you can just play the vanilla ist and have a mix.

Are you gay? Serious question. Steel Phallus is for literal faggots.

1) Minelayer and Sapper (Mimetism!) MULTI-Sniper profiles on your crappy line infantry.

2) Mimetism, Minelayer, and MSV1 all on the same model with your Bagh Mari.

3) Decent REM potential (AVA 3 on Fugazis, as opposed to 1/2 for MO and Vanilla).

4) Access to the best gun in the game (HMRC) and the ability to field enough orders to use it.

Great links, nice premium HI/TAGs, the ability to start half the army in the midfield. A few tricks that the rest of PanO doesn't get.

Hey Infinity people
I'm new to wargames (warhammer 7e) but 8e really put me off. Now I'm looking for more wargames, so how's Infinity? How does it work, how does it usually go?

Linked sapper snipers.

I don't paint I mostly paint. since there is nothing left for tohaa and onyx, I finally getting around to painting my death guard army

> No taquel commando yet
> Waiting for Shavastii resculpts

poeple will say it is objectively the best game and the models are second to known and to be honest, that is true.

From an honest players perspective, I have had more fun painting and playing this game then any other war game I have played. games are interactive and entertaining with, not even the right people, but just with any competent player. it's good shit.

3 turns, each player moves all their pieces during their half of the turn, like warhammer. The only exception is that when I move a model and one of your models has line of sight to it, your model can react by either shooting back, dodging or a variety of other things.

There are a variety of missions that involve holding parts of the table, killing enemies, hacking computers.. it goes on, there is a lot of variety.

Most of the fighting is done at range, although melee is certainly a thing for some models. Melee models are generally exceptionally deadly.

Whole game is 3 turns? That's certainly interesting, I imagine every model has to have a pretty good movement range?

>how's Infinity? How does it work, how does it usually go?

+Cheaper than most other wargames. It's not uncommon for armies to be only ten models strong, all the rules are free online, and you can print out the tokens yourself if you want.

+Easier to transport. I didn't notice this until I'd been playing for a few months, but it's a lot easier to cart around.

+Good ruleset. It plays quite differently to most other wargames, and is a lot more interactive: instead of just sitting around and waiting for your opponent, you get a (limited) set of options in their turn: if one of your models can see one of your opponents models when they activate it during their turn, you can shoot back, dodge, throw a smoke grenade, that kind of thing, which makes the game far more engaging than the last few editions of 40k.

-Steep learning curve. Infinity works differently to most other wargames, and takes a bit of getting used to.

-Terrain. Infinity operates on a true line of sight system, and so tables set up for Infinity require a higher density of terrain compared to most other wargames.

The thing that makes Infinity unique is each model you have on the table gives you an "order" which you can spend however you like: If you have ten models, one model can potentially "activate" up to ten times in a single turn, or you can have ten different models activate once each, depending on what you want to do.

So, the vast majority of units in the game move 4", but in a single turn can move much further than that if you want and are able.

If I use a flamethrower to shoot at someone with the template, their options are shoot back at me and get automatically hit (if they don't crit), or dodge to try to avoid the damage, that's it right?

>Infinity operates on a true line of sight system
Not true, Infinity uses silhouette templates, something like 40k where you need to see an actual bit of the model to have LoS is true LoS template is better because it prevents people from modeling for advantage.

It's also incredibly lethal, and objective focused. 3 turns is often all you need.

>the vast majority of units in the game move 4"
Really it's 8", or 6" for slower dudes. Moving is a short skill, so it only takes half an order. That's why each unit has 2 MOV values, the second one is added on when you make a Move->Move order. 4" is for when you want to do another thing with the order as well, like shoot somebody.

The game is about shooting, not CC. CC focused models usually get an extra Impetuous Order that makes them faster but prevents them from using cover or they have Infiltration and start halfway up the board.
Also, remember Marbo and his appear out of nowhere trick? In Infinity that's pretty common.

Borg?

If you are going to proxy additional units then Jannisaries are a solid call. Although I strongly suggest you roll with what you currently have (~150 points) for a few games before getting more.
