I have always wanted to see an expansion where the Goblins of Kezan, namely Venture Company, pose a legitimate threat to Azeroth. Before BfA, before even WoD I posted about my idea of an expansion that involved Venture Goblins drilling a new Well of Eternity on Kezan to power up a machine that could materialise anything (but they, of course, would use it to materialise mountains of gold). I guess this is completely off the table now.

Laugh all you want, but void elves are kinda cool. I expected them to be lore abominations after reading endless threads about them on mmo-champ, but nope. But it's really a shame that void elves in their scenario painted blood elves as hypocrites.
Also Alleria is savage, I am really in love with her character now. She combines every great aspects of her sisters: badassery of Sylvanas and kindness of Vereesa.

I unironically think Sylvanas should stick to being fap fodder. When they started covering her up and making her a SRS CHARACTER she became the worst character. I mean fuck, she's actually gotten worse than Garrosh was.

Lilian Voss was... okay, at least within Tirisfal itself. Less so when she showed up in those awful dungeon revamps.
In any case, there's nothing stopping them from fleshing out some magister or Deathstalker or whatever in the same way they did Nazgrim, until they become a viable major character. There's still questgivers with decent personalities out there, they just need a chance to shine.

It's not true though. The most beloved Horde characters are Thrall and Vol'jin. CG and CN respectively. Even if you like Liadrin, she doesn't represent the Horde values at all.

and Liadrin definitely does embody Horde values, her entire character arc was about trying to protect her people at any cost, and the Auchindoun questline in WoD is pretty analogous to Thrall's attempt to ingratiate the Horde to humanity and the night elves
as far as I know all the development his character ever got besides a few lines in the cinematics was carted of into one or possibly more of those aweful books.
Vol'jin: Shadows of the Horde was pretty good. Might be because it was written by Michael Stackpole.

I agree, but Blizzard has been ramping up the stakes with every successive expansion for a while now, even WoD that was about some orcs who learned to build tanks ended up with us fighting Archimonde himself to prevent a full scale Legion invasion. So I didn't really expect them to ever give attention to things like the Venture Co, Quilboars, Centaurs, ect ever again unless said things got CORRUPTED.com to be pawns of some cosmic force.

Yes, quite a lot of people did, if the massive shitstorm over his death and that many people from both factions continue to list his fridging as one of the worst lore decisions Blizzard has made, which being the same people responsible for many, many terrible plot twists, says a lot. I get subjectively disliking a character, but to call Vol'jin flat is pretty shallow.
One of the things that made Vol'jin so popular across the Horde was that he didn't alienate any race. Elves and Forsaken can feel out of place when the leader won't stop roaring about blood and spikes and victory or death every 5 seconds, and likewise the traditional races of the Horde are feeling disenfranchised under Sylvanas. Vol'jin on the other hand, was a character who was devoted to the original, proper values of the Horde, family and honor and all that jazz but he also combined it with a healthy dose of practicality. Hell, he was a Shadow Hunter.
If Sylvanas needed to kill a dangers enemy who took shelter in an orphanage, she would have the orphanage plagued out of existence without a second thought.
If Saurfang was in the same situation, he would do everything in his power to negotiate with the enemy to prevent him from hurting the children, strike bargains for freedom and give into demands if need be, and his sense of honor would demand he keep his word.
Vol'jin, in the same situation, would calmly do everything Saurfang did, then when the target left the orphanage, he would walk over, slit the terrorist's throat, and laugh in the man's face that he thought he'd get away from using children as hostages.
A perfect example of this is his dispute with Garrosh vs Cairne's. Cairne charged into Orgrimmar and declared Mak'gora. Vol'jin saw what happened to Cairne and knew that even though he didn't doubt his own skill, he could easily wind up dying from poison. Instead, he tells Garrosh that if he takes the Horde to hell, he'll shoot him in the back without remorse.
Cont from I don't know how you can possibly say Liadrin embodies Horde values and Vol'jin doesn't, when he had an arc about protecting his people under Garrosh's rule at any cost just the same as she did.

Saurfang would do what you said Vol'jin would do. You can't and shouldn't be honourable to people who are the absolute antithesis to honour.
Sylvanas would gas the orphanage, but then she would raise the kids as Forsaken and give them training and tools for taking revenge on the associates of their kidnappers.
Vol'jin would infiltrate the orphanage under stealth, paralyse the kidnappers with some exotic jungle poison, let the kids go and then slowly cut them to pieces alive. The last kidnapper, driven insane by what he had seen, would be given the antidote and let go to spread the word of what happens to those who hurt Horde children.

Not really. It's more like Blizzard just had no real interest in writing or developing him. Only ever bothering to develop him at all out of popular demand, and dropping him as soon as they were able. Metzen was probably annoyed that he'd fucked up so badly that people didn't want Thrall anymore.

But if I were to describe Vol'jin in the sense that Blizzard likes to use comicbook metaphors for describing the morals of the factions, he was a leader who could have guided the Horde with "Wolverine" morality that Blizzard claims they design the Horde with while giving us Magnetos and Hitlers to rule us instead.
Blizzard is big, but the WoW team is just one team, and writing is far from the most important selling point. There's no way they have dedicated writers for things like that.

Legion was surprisingly ok. Varian getting killed was satisfying to watch and the biggest surprise is that they didn't redeem Illidan into elven jesus. Speaking of this, I honestly think Trolls probably have some of the most common ground with all the races of the Horde.
They're tribal and shamanistic, dealing with spirits and such, like Orcs and Tauren. They're practice dark mysticism and are more cunning and conniving than honorable, a common point with races like Forsaken or the edgier Blood Elves. Likewise, they have a civilized side to contrast the savagery. Put the Tauren or Orcs as leaders of the Horde, and Forsaken and Elves seem out of place. Put a Forsaken or Elf on the throne, or both, and it doesn't fit with anyone. Put a somewhat civilized Troll there, and everything fits just fine.

IIRC Kosak was the lead quest designer from Cata through to Legion, which is one of the reasons Sylvanas got so much screentime when characters like Baine and Vol'jin got more or less completely ignored.
You can be neutral in human vs human situation, but when your race is about to be annihilated by a completely different race you just can't stay away. Khadgar motivation to go neutral, when all his human friends are preparing for war to defend themselves, isn't just very logical.

Yes you should. I mean sure, don't be an idiot and turn your back on someone who's likely to betray you, but you absolutely do your utmost to keep your word, even to people who wouldn't keep theirs. In Warcraft 3, they were supposed to be expert masons, as the War Mills were built and presumably run by them. They had Batriders. Advanced alchemy. Their headhunters wore pants!
