Tacticals are there to hold objectives, screen, and put a few shots down range while having decent toughness and a good save.

Gonna paint them like they are trudging through snow and mud the only thing i could not decided on yet is whether or not to paint the coats blue grey or black

They form the bulk of my marines army, as per the codex astartes, and work decent. I mostlymplay against other marine players and horde nids, and they get the job done. They're good as a speed bump, with their stat line, and for me, since I usually stick with basic battalion detachements, 3 tac squads and a couple sniper scout squads work good enough to get the job done

This is the 40k player with the most tournament wins in the history of the game.

Blue, its hard to keep black armoe detail from getting lost on the tabletop.

FYI you can't have more than half your army in reserves at the start of the game.

You should go blue grey, it'll look nicer and contrast with the mud better, the mud would be too bright on black, or would blend in.
