/40kg/ imma cheap bastards and I've been looking for a way to add a shit load of basic Scourges into my army cheaply (to spam anti-infantry shard carbines as an alternative to Kabalites) rather than heavy weapons) and I'm thinking about kitbashing the wyche and kabalite boxes and making fairy wings out of clear plastic with maybe some washes over them.

I think this fits quite well with the Dark Eldar's whole European mythology elfs/'fey folk' thing but I'm worried it'll look shit. Has anyone got any experience using transparent/translucent parts on their minis? Will fairy-drukhari get me laughed at in the FLGS?

I use the clear flying bases for shields from my shield generators. Looks ok for tabletop. I say go for it.

The only good part about this scheme is nostalgia glasses, jesus christ I'm glad we aren't into eye destroying anymore.

Just buy the kits, DE kits are so cheap they're a steal already

seems unlikely they'd release the middle in the list first, and I believe they confirmed at LVO that drukhari are first, they're not getting vect, and the tau book will focus on fixing commander spam and focusing on the main forces rather than auxiliaries.

It was my first game, so I learned a lot about nids.
1) Devourer gaunts with a Trygon is a very good counter-deepstrike tactic.
2) Genestealers can tear apart any target, unless they have a very good invul save.
3) Winged Kraken Flyrants are really fast. I managed to charge my opponent’s Russ (He was playing GSC), knocking down to 2 wounds. He used a stratagem to cult ambush ~15 Genestealers around my Flyrant with a Primus and killed it, but not before I used One Step Ahead and the stratagem to attack before being killed to squish his Primus.
Game ended when I failed to make 3 charges, all were 6” or under. I would have gotten warlord warlord and the kingslayer tac-objective if I made it. :(

I guess that for the stratagem you meant Death frenzy as One step ahead is the Kraken warlord traid that lets you attack first regardless if you charged. Anyway it sounds like a great game where you ran out of CP in the end for those charge rerolls, which is a shame because rerolling your flyrant death throes for the chance of some cheeky mortal wounds could have been hilarious
