try to make the edgiest character possible, but try to make it enjoyable and fun to roleplay

Why? You're just trying to force a meme at this point, and it's not nearly as clever or interesting as you think it is.

>talks about forcing a meme
>posts Marcille

>says catchphrases that sound cool to him but fall flat to literally everyone else

>Go into in depth detail on how strong and anazing your secret technique is to stall the enemy

>teleporting to attack, to dodge
>being the over the top guy to someone else's straight man
>being the straight man to someone else's overly chipper/happy-go-lucky guy

...

...

I did it, I had a DM who played edgy Mary sue Characters but bitched that my characters weren't good Role play. So when he made his first campaign I made a character with the longest most edgy backstory and acted out in the most dramatic ways.

He didn't like me personally so that Character got killed by bullshit.

the secret truth is I had fun being so dramatic while knowing I had such a long and edgy back story.

...

Barbarian who's got a Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde thing going on. In rage mode he's full on 3 Days Grace, in normal he's a much more compassionate person who just gets a rush from being the monster, even if he hates what the monster does sometimes.

T-the monsters!

You wouldn't mind summarizing Dungeon Seeker, would you?

Not him, but basically a group of Japanese high school kids get transported to some kind of fantasy RPG world, where everyone has stats and shit.

The guy in the OP was the kid who got bullied, but he had this one childhood friend (a girl,of course) who kept standing up to the bullies and helped him out of situations. In the new world, the guy in the OP is the weakest, because his stats sucked ass in the real world, and the bully is high level. But the bully leaves him alone, they don't harass him. The kid and his childhood friend live in some village, till the fields. Then a day of sacrifice arrives. The childhood friend is chosen. The kid in the OP naturally offers himself instead of her, which leads to him stepping into a magical labyrinth from which no one has escaped before. Just as he takes one step inside, his childhood friend starts laughing at him and kissing the former bully, who turns out to still be a grade-a cunt.

He's fucked over and then tries to survive the labyrinth any way he can so he can get out and kill his bullies and his former friend.

Its a basic revenge isekai, main character is weak, betrayed by people he trusted, bullshits into superpowers and maximum overedge but is still a decent guy deep down according to author.

Also cannibalism. Surprisingly large amounts, right from the beginning.

The protagonist "abandons humanity" by eating undead flesh after his first victory in the labyrinth. Then there's a village of cannibals, but they die from eating his leg because the undead flesh made him poisonous, and so on.

I think the author got hit with a plagarism suit, because the LN was extremely similar to another novel called Arifuerta, based off the same premise. (The protagonist of Arifuerta also ends up one-handed, has the same power, and wields a revolver / railgun in exactly the same way.)

Though Arifuerta would have been way, way better as an NTR series.

>LN is extremely similar to other LN

It other news, water is wet.

>Terrorblade is the demon marauder--an outlaw hellion whom even other demons fear. A cosmic iconoclast, he stole from the Demon Lords, ignored the codified rites that should have bound his behavior, and broke every law of the seven Infernal Regions. For his crimes, he was taught this lesson: even Hell has a hell. A short, brutal trial ensued, with many dead on all sides, and he was finally incarcerated in Foulfell, a hidden dimension where demonkind imprison their own.
>But Foulfell is no normal prison. In this dark mirror of reality, demons are sentenced to gaze eternally into the twisted reflection of their own souls. But instead of suffering, Terrorblade made himself master of his own reflected worst self--a raging, thieving demon of unimaginable power. With his inner beast under sway, he destroyed the fractal prison walls and burst free to turn his terror loose upon all creation.

I mean, I've been kind of working on a character concept, but I worry he might be edgy, even though I just want him to be kind of dark.

>Lawful evil
>Grew up pretty normally, no tragic backstory
>Left home at 16 to pursue his own path
>Ended up mixing in with the wrong crowds, and found out he's really good at hurting people
>Over the years gets involved with careers that involve thuggery, banditry, vandalism, piracy, burglary, and even raiding, just a long path of criminal escapades
>Became so good at being a cruel and violent criminal that some of the people he ran with called him the Vandal King
>Left crime to start working as a mercenary, seeing it as more "honest" work that still suited his talents for violence
>Is not a good person, takes joy in hurting people, getting into fights, stealing and breaking stuff, but also lives by a personal code (such as never hurting or killing folks that he doesn't have a beef with yet, or don't bother stealing from folks who have nothing) which helps keep him from being a total monster
>Is still a greedy and selfish man who only cares for things that matter to him
>Enjoys all sorts of vices (quit gambling though cause he got sick of waking up broke, even carries around a sword he got off some schlub as a reminder to kick his habit)
>Wears 'edgy' clothes, consisting of black leather and spiky armor, but it's all very patchwork, as he doesn't wear a normal suit of armor and just grabs what he likes and attaches it to himself, so he's got mismatched armor on his body that's just hanging on by straps, and the spikes are there cause it helps to hurt folks when you kick them with spikes
I enjoy the concept, but I don't want it to turn into "that guy" in terms of character ideas.

Yo! I'm the guy who originally dumped like 5 chapters of Dungeon Seeker in a recent Edgelord thread.
Dungeon Seeker is the Best Worst series ever. It's so unironically Edgy and Dark and tries just so hard to be cool that it loops back around to being hilarious, like a Retarded Feral Puppy.
Really, it's especially hilarious to Veeky Forums because it hits every single trope you've already seen Edgelords in RPGs do. Eat human flesh, get a dark ragged cloak, rant about POWER and STRENGTH, Dump all his stat points into Evasion, use a gun anachronistically, swear revenge on people who've wronged him in the most retarded way possible.
It's just so obvious in its decisions, yet it treats them like some big reveal.
Dungeon Seeker is written by every Edgelord you've ever met.
I'll dump more chapter in this thread later tonight if you'd all like that.

It's a revenge mission isekai where the protag's cheat abilities are skill absorption and literally dumping 1000+ points in agility and nothing else and becoming a speed god with instant kill poison body skill

Make him a loveable tryhard who wants desperately to be badass but is just too darn good at heart to not give in and be a hero.

"And this is your level one character, Adam?"

"Yup"

"Alright lemme just BS a bit of backstory to put you into the scene with the rest of the PCs"

> As a reward for causing the downfall of multiple Demon Lords, a Celestial looked down upon you and offered you an escape to the Mortal Realm. Unfortunately the escape was Reincarnation and you find yourself in the body of a middle aged human male hunter in a small village with one level in ranger and a twisted ankle that you're dealing with by having a pint at the tavern.

>NTR series
I always thought it was a name for a fetish. Not every betrayal is netorare, only if in sexual context.

>lycanthrope
>satans
>revanant
>warlock
>thai cuisine

One of these is not as the others

Yeah, a lycanthrope is a curse and any book would be about bowing to slay them not how to be them!

Well... that's what Dungeon Seeker was.

I just read the translated stuff I could find. This is amazingly terrible in all the best ways. It even has the character’s body being lethally toxic used in almost every chapter - from Cerberus eating it and almost dying, to killing a village of cannibals that want to both eat and breed with him, to giving him a paper-thin personality love interest that is immune to his poison just for the bitch he swore revenge on to rip her heart out.

It is truly good bad.

Damn, I thought it was shonen bullshit! Do you actually mean that childhood friend fucked with the bully before protagonist's eyes?

The bully gropes her tits, but the manga never shows her as a love interest - just that she protects him from bullies like he used to when they were little..

Dude just read it, it's isekai shadow the hedhehog but undead and it's as hilariously bad as you'd expect it.

>Warren ellis
No wonder its so edgy and shitty.

Thanks anyway m8.

Were you molested as a child?

wait wut

Why would the childhood friend stand up for the guy if she didn't feel any affection for him?

Specifically so she could betray him and become the BBEG(Ugh). It's not well written, which is the point of reading it.
All character actions are contrived towards either furthering the Edge Factor or a Character's conflict towards our protagonist.

I feel like they're setting up a situation where they both end uo trying to murder chief dickhead and then have a cannibal fuck on his corpse before trying to kill each other. Seems edgy enough and lets the author power level wank really hard.

Also latest manga chapter makes no fucking sense, I've had a problem with my other stats being deficient? Better keep doing what I've been doing even though I decided to be more even. Fucking hate this part of isekai authors, can't fucking power up their characters reasonably.

Well, technically it doesn't have to be a fetish, it can be the central drama of a non-porn series, at least in Japanese usage.

You know, I actually do get annoyed people (well, incels) talking about being "cucked" because a girl they were interested in, but not dating, had sex with somebody else. That's not what that word means.
But I think "寝取られ" (netorare) actually CAN include that meaning. I don't know enough about Japanese language or culture to say for sure, but the literal meaning is something like "taken by sleeping", and I think it can include a case where a friendship is taken by somebody seducing them away.

TB reminded me of wf dark elf.

I did look the fist chapter out of curiosity, and the drawing style is worringly simmilar to that of the doujinshi artist DATE. Anybody else sees It?

Play an awakened slime whose goal is to consume the world.

>Culexus Assassin, captured by pre-heresy imperial dissidents, ca M40 (colorized)

Don't forget the bit where the girl who royally fucked him over and then openly mocked him with glee now wants to apologize to him.

>local bully not so tough after being raped
More at 11.

No, that's not what I mean. See, Arifuerta is about this fairly useless guy who gets isekai'd to another world with the rest of his class. There's one guy who's obviously the hero, and the useless dude has his female childhood friend who sort-of-has-a-thing for him.

After the protagonist apparently dies (he's lost during a dungeon crawl) the girl is left at a loose end. He eventually emerges at super-high levels and with a loli vampiress who keeps jumping his bones.

The story would have been a lot better if his childhood friend went "Well, guess he's dead then" moved on, and was fucking the hero. I mean, he already has a love interest, it's only natural the most attractive / competent people in the class would hook up. That's just social dynamics! (As much as everyone derides SAO, it's perfectly reasonable that Kirito would pick the safe choice and hook up with the equally high-achieving Asuna, the same way the star athlete ends up dating the head cheerleader.)

>Why would the childhood friend stand up for the guy if she didn't feel any affection for him?
>Women only show affection to guys they want to fuck
Nigga, you dumb.

Because it was plagarized from another light novel.

>It has rape too
Man, this really hits all the benchmarks, huh?

It has rape, but not with his childhood friend. user is just too edgy to notice.

What it does have, as I sort of mentioned here , is a cannibal village where a girl knocks him out and makes soup for the village from his leg while promising that she will rape him when she gets back because he is her husband now.

AHAHAHAHA Torquemada is great. I forgot this scene

>Not Frank franks about internal franks to Frank

Nice copypaste, my dude

Is Dungeon Seeker concluded? I started reading it and holy shit...I can not believe how ironically enjoyable this is. It's incredibly bad, thank you
