I miss him.

For those of you not crazy about Disney canon, what are some things it's come up with that you like?

Dude looks a bit chromosomal. What's the Empire's stance on downies?

...

I frankly liked inquisicoptors, the K2 series droids, Rex being the old man on endor, the superlaser being fueled by kyber crystals, jocasta nu's saber rifle

Honorable mentions go to the concept art versions of Jakku and Canto Byte

that's one of them, I'm also okay with the T-70 X-Wing

>Rex being the old man on endor
Has that been confirmed aside from Filoni basically going 'eh maybe who knows'? If it has that might end up being one of the things from nucanon I unambiguously like.

>U-Wing - Particularly love how it's sorta like a Rebel LAAT/i, but modular enough to serve multiple roles.
>T-70 X-Wing
>TIE/fo
>TIE/sf

And much as I hate the EAfront 2 campaign, I do really like the design of the Imperial Special Forces uniform.

Really, the only thing I like in Disney canon so far are the design choices. But make the Empire literally retarded, as well as all organizations post-Endor much the same, is a big turn-off.

This makes me wonder if there's BDSM porn in the Star Wars universe with those torture droids

I doubt it, considering the fact that the old guy on Endor is pretty obviously the wrong ethnicity to be Rex.

I actually like the Inquisitorious as a whole and how they're trained to be jedi hunters instead of full fledged sith.
The unique lightsaber designs are neat, though I do think going full helicopter is really silly.

>I actually like the Inquisitorious as a whole and how they're trained to be jedi hunters instead of full fledged sith.
Nucanon didn't come up with that.

>And much as I hate the EAfront 2 campaign, I do really like the design of the Imperial Special Forces uniform.

And I'll say that while Operation Cinder was goddamn inexcusably retarded, it did make for a cool setpiece battle over Naboo.

So /swg/ with the upcoming release of Legion, let's brainstorm some future expansions for the game.

>Rebels
Wookie Warriors - Will be a small (3 - 4) person squad with two wounds each. Upgrades will allow you to kit them out as tanks with Bowcasters and maybe a taunt or intimidate ability to force enemies to fire on them. The alternative would be to have them be wookie berserkers, with a rage ability that let's them move towards the enemy when they shoot at them, as well as an evade or damage absorption ability.

Saboteurs - This would be another small (3-4) man squad, but with two heavy weapon upgrade slots. They would also have a variety of grenades and explosives to choose from.

Rebel Commandos - Like troopers, but better. These units would have a lot of focus on mobility and hit and run attacks. Something similar to being able to shoot and then move, or move and then shoot, then move again. Special upgrades would allow them to deploy outside of designated deployment zones or act outside of the commanders influence bubble.

>Imperial
Scout Troopers
just regular dismounted scout troopers. These would be a small squad (2-4) with a variety of upgrades to allow them to act as skirmishers. Sniper rifles would grant them long range penetrating shots and bonus damage/aim tokens if they fire as part of a standby action, while carbines would make them similar to more mobile fleet troopers. Like the Rebel Commandos above they would also have optional upgrades that let them deploy outside designated deployment zones.

>Dark Troopers Mk. II
These would be small (2-4) Infantry with Armor 1 and movement 1 by default. A cheap upgrade for them would grant them jet packs, and they would also each have heavy weaposn upgrade slots, with the option for missile launchers, flamethrowers, arc casters or an assault cannon. Fully kitting out dark troopers would cost around as much as an AT-ST.

Any other thoughts or ideas?

>Wookiee faction
>Gungan faction
>Royal Naboo faction
>Clone Wars core set

I want to see a Rebel/Imperial squadrons esque pack, Rebel/Imperial Reinforcements.

Supposedly the Specialist slot can be used not just to add another generic trooper, but also medics and engineers.

So I'd like a pack with like, 2-4 specialist minis compatible with multiple unit types. Rebel Medic, Rebel Comms specialist, etc. Give us some different poses and sculpts.

Also, Imperial Super Commandos. Give them the ability to Jetpack as an action and ignore terrain height and obstacles for the rest of the round.

Sounds over complicated and counter to the seemingly streamlined rules.

>a taunt or intimidate ability to force enemies to fire on them.
Horrible idea.
Counter - Bowcaster can fire with the Impact 1 or Pierce 1 rules.

> a rage ability that let's them move towards the enemy when they shoot at them
Horrible idea.
Counter - Wookies have two wounds and cannot be suppressed.

>Saboteurs
2 Heavy Weapons sounds okay, but a range 1 6 black dice impact 4 Demo Charge would be better. You need to risk getting close.

>Rebel Commandos
Specialist upgrades, Roll armour on Red, free aim tokens if they don't move plus free Comm Links.

>Scout Troopers
Free aim tokens if they don't move, range 2-4 Pierce 2 Sniper Rifles with Precision 2. Max squad size is 2 but the box comes with 4. Free Comm Links. Recon Drone (independent unit) with range 1 Comm Jammer.

>Dark Troopers
Again, too complicated.
Jump 3, movement 3, Arc Casters are range 1-2 with 2 black dice and the Ion Keyword

>Arc Casters
Wrong Dark Trooper phase.

My bad.
I stand by the needlessly complicated statement.

Wookie Rage is pretty nominal TBF, depending on how we handle Special Forces, units with unique keywords are not going to be uncommon, though they will probably related to common concepts.

Such as "Wookiee Rage - Assign yourself a Rage token. While you have a rage token, you can reroll one die in a melee attack" or something.

>Wookie Rage is pretty nominal TBF
I'm not saying it isn't, but your implementation, in my eyes, is poor.
>units with unique keywords are not going to be uncommon
See the above. A special keyword doesn't mean a special ability. Snowtroopers for example have the Steady keyword, but it just equates to a free attack action. Wookie rage should just equal 1 free move action after a shooting action.

>Rage token
Another token is a needless complication. Solution, in Melee, Wookies gain a melee version of Precise 2 called Wookie Rage.

~Wookie Rage - When in Melee, re-roll up to 2 failed hits.
Job done. It's thematic, requires no new tokens, makes use of an already established mechanic and requires no extra learning.

This is an FFG game, so you best be strapping yourself in for new tokens.

Everything thus far suggests otherwise. The rulebook basically confirms the coming of tanks and droids, so until then I'm theorizing around the notion that the current mechanics are what will support the entirety of wave 1.

he needs to be an imperial commander who's thing is killing vehicles in melee

My favorite Star Wars moment is unironically the final Vader scene in Rogue One.

The demo Charge would be one of the optional upgrades for them, and be the unique weapon for their unit to reflect their specialized training.

I like the idea of the wookie's having two woundsand not being able to be supressed, but past experience with FFG games as well as what we've seen so far each unit is going to be customizable both physically on the model as well as an upgrade cards sort of thing. Something like choosing to give wookies blades or bowcasters also falls in line with FFG wanting to have semi-diverse options for each unit.

Dark troopers are another example of this. A big expensive unit comparable to the AT-ST would have a lot of options and a little more complexity then cheaper more mainline units.

Oh man, reading dawn of rebellion is a treat

Especially chopper's "grumpy" ability

Armada post

>Something like choosing to give wookies blades or bowcasters also falls in line with FFG wanting to have semi-diverse options for each unit.
Personally I would rather have two separate boxes. I'm playing Rebs for Wave 1 and Droids when they come about. So I would rather be able to buy a box of ranged carpets or a box of bladed carpets. Having both options in one box just feels like you're getting less of a return on investment because you would be running two small under powered carpet squads opposed to one powerful dedicated team. But that's just me.

No, everything suggests it will. Just like X-Wing and Armada, everything is indicated with tokens and symbols. You have a token for standby, a token for aiming, a token for dodging. You track wounds and suppression with tokens, and we already have a type of attack to assign a token, Ion. Vehicles will show their critical damage with a specific token, it's all just the same elements, though Legion seems well designed to to accept new mechanisms.

> so until then I'm theorizing around the notion that the current mechanics are what will support the entirety of wave 1.

Of course they will? We know the entirety of "Wave 1" assuming Legion will even come out in "waves" like X-Wing and Armada. It's the Core units (including their individual packs) + AT-ST/T-47. So naturally the L2P will cover all those, but we don't even have the RRG yet.

I agree that your implementation of Wookie Rage is better and more thematic. However, I also argue that wookies should have some sort of supportive ability. Let's use the Biggs ability from X-Wing as an example. If an enemy unit could shoot a friendly unit at range 1 of the wookies, they instead have to shoot at the wookies. This functions as a taunt ability while also being thematic to both wookies (big, scary and intimidating) and the rebels (taking shots that would hit weaker units).

More diversity is a good thing. When X-Wing first came out the meta had been figured out pretty quickly due to the small number of upgrades and ships available. Wave II helped a lot with that, but it was still very clear which options were superior to others. It wasn't until the Rebel and Imperial Aces that I think most people agreed that the game was a bit more balanced and there was more variety.

>Of course they will? We know the entirety of "Wave 1" assuming Legion will even come out in "waves" like X-Wing and Armada.

It in fact doesn't. Veers and Snowtroopers are releasing two months in advance of Leia and Fleet Troopers, and you can see in the announcement articles that they're not using the wave system.

A unit has two weapon slots, you're just as likely to get Melee Rykk Blades for some nasty melee dice and then ranged Bowcaster for some nasty ranged dice, obviously taking into account a smaller max size.

And then they have the Grenade Slot for time bombs, and a Heavy Weapon slot for the Guided Missile Launcher

Have a good one anons.

What can I say, I disagree. Not too fussed on shooting the shit tonight about specifics, playing Devil May Cry.

Any time you force the player to do something, in this case forcing them to shoot wookies, player agency goes out the window. I hate stuff like that.

>>A unit has two weapon slots
Provided you meet the requirements. You don't just get to take the weapons that you want.

That's a good choice, user. It's pretty legit.

>Confederate of Independent Systems
B1 Battle Droid
Cheap with the option to take up to 4 extra models for a total of 9 models. Like stormtroopers or rebel troopers but worse. Plus side is you get to roll lots of dice.

B2 Battle Droid
Smaller groups of 3-5, with some toughness upgrades and weapon upgrades. Droids would have access to the special "Hardware" upgrade slot, allowing them to gain impact damage on their attacks or get a short ranged AT weapon(1 or 2 black dice, range 1 at most).

Droideka
Comes in units of 2 and can switch between movement modes. While in ball form, they can't attack but can move at speed 3 (with a limit on them being able to scale buildings). While in attack mode, they throw out an impressive amount of anti-infantry dice and can take a bit of punishment due to the shields. Switching between the two would be an action.

No I mean the base unit card has space for two weapons, at least.

>player agency goes out the window. I hate stuff like that.

You already hate Legion then. Suppression tokens force you to lose actions or even flee the board.

>get a short ranged AT weapon
WATCH

Also, very important to point out, that is only the Learn To Play guide, which comes in the core. It contains simplified versions of the rules, and is not necessarily the end-all of all mechanics in Legion ever.

The actual Rules Reference document will be online only, so it can be updated as needed.

The composite beam weapon stats for the Prototype-B6 is very scary

I miss Jerec.

Imagine if the Empire managed to reverse-engineer that thing and stick it on a TIE Defender.

Your Kylo+whisper list is unfortunately deep onto meme territory. You have a 2 ship list is the 52 point shuttle you have built- If whisper dies, you can conceivably lose to a TIE Fighter or Z-95.

Can you give us the stats for TIE Strikers and U-Wings plz

>Nucanon didn't come up with that.

What did they come up on their own with anyway?

They seem creatively bankrupt.

Lightsaber guns

>The unique lightsaber designs are neat, though I do think going full helicopter is really silly.
I like the fact that it, though I hate to use the words, "deconstructs" the concept: though it seems impressive at first, after a couple of fights it becomes obvious that "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick" is a gimmick to intimidate undertrained opponents and it actually just gives opponents more opportunities to get under the Inquisitor's guard.
Still don't know why the Inquisitor lightsaber and Ezra's are the only ones we've ever seen with handguards, though.

Though I detest what Disney has done to the Empire, they at least apparently adopted the Umbaran walkers into their arsenal.

However, even this is tainted to a degree as I think the Ray Shields and addtional blasters are gone.

Literally just a more sarcastic Han, as a jedi but me too user

>No fucking Lasat in Dawn of Rebellion
What the fuck, FFG? Legends of the Lasat literally ends with Zeb promising to bring more refugees back to Lira San, so there's obviously more Lasat out there.

...

Any rules for the Rogue One tank in there?

They better do Death Troopers, but seems like their gonna focus onOT stuff first.

Is the a fun Powered By the Apocalypse based Star Wars hack?

I just want a narrative game in the SW universe, without too much worry about the rules.

Any podcasts/Live Play groups that have been doing the Star Wars systems? Preferably something I can download to my phone so that I can listen to it while driving.

IIRC that's on the list of stuff that's in it, though I don't have the book.

youtube.com/watch?v=OypBIdq4Jc0&feature=youtu.be

>What's the Empire's stance on downies?
Its a qualification for the middle and upper management roles usually

>the entry mentions that firing the weapon makes the ship nearly inoperable.

Quarrie might've been a talented shipwright, but he was ultimately just one guy working completely by himself on a remote planet with very limited resources. If the Empire got their hands on the CLW tech, its massive military-industrial complex and its countless technical geniuses (Sienar, Zaarin, Thrawn, Krennic, etc.) could negate (or at least severely reduce) it's shortcomings in the span of a few years.

In Legends, I would have assumed they had the technology correct that.

Now...they probably do nothing?

At least Filoni intentionally wrote Pryce as an egotistical idiot and didn't try to make her out as a misunderstood tactical genius at the last minute.

Didn't the Emperor's plan start failing the second he made it?

Death troopers are basically just the cyborg iterations of the dark trooper project, but they look and sound pretty great.

Well Pryce has been expanded far beyond Rebels, in the book Thrawn, she was really fleshed out. I wouldn't call her an idiot, but she's..like the exact opposite of Thrawn, hot headed and impulsive. So much so that she's pretty myopic in scope.

But whom are you referring to as a misunderstood tactical genius at the last minute?? It's almost like you're talking about some purple haired, feminist hipster...?

Pryce >>>>> Holdor

Clearly you don't want Star Wars Rebels.... they completely ruined the idea and lore of the Death Troopers...

Actually there are Dark Troopers in Star Wars now and they're entirely Droids and somehow are more durable than AT-STs.

I want Pryce to sit on my face while stormtroopers go to town on my ass at her command

Yeah, but she's really fucking dumb. I mean if you launch ordinance at the terrorists (despite some protest to the contrary) into a fuel depot, you're not real clever.
After you've blown up all the fuel on the planet and also managed to get yourself into the shit-list of an admiral.
>Throw a parade

Yes, parades!

Not, how the fuck am I going to get enough fuel in from another source so at least things are ticking along at some kind of level.
That some 9/10 grade fucking spastic behaviour, at least a Silver at the special olympics kind of stuff.

Dude what the he'll?

Deets?

Bisexuals aren't immune to /co/ grade magical realm autism, user

How?

How I would have done the new Trilogy or at least Episode 7 while using the same basic story/characters we did get.

> E7 opens with Kylo massacring Luke's Jedi Temple while Luke is off planet, no Knights of Ren, just Kylo alone as a true Vader style avatar of death.
> Rey is a student of Lukes who Kylo is unable to locate during the massacre.
> Rey was found by Storm trooper Finn who refuses to kill her & instead helps her escape the burning temple alive.
Rest of the film is...
> Rey/Finn on the run from Kylo as a major subplot.
> Main plot is Luke & Han trying to find Ben who wasn't among the pile of his student's bodies. Luke believes the massacre may be Ben's handiwork but Han refuses to entertain the notion.
> Flashbacks from Rey/Luke of training alongside Ben. Flashbacks from Han showing the New Republic that was built after the original trilogy, him & Leia petitioning the senate of the New Republic to take the First Order as a serious threat & Leia being ostracized for it.
> Last Act - Luke discovering that his sister was right about the First Order building a galaxy threat sized imperial fleet (no starkiller) while rescuing the captured Rey/Finn. Han confronting the masked Kylo as we got in TFA, demanding he face his father like a man. Same result. Luke & Kylo have a extended duel ends in a stalemate.
> Ends with Luke coming to Leia to break the truth to her about her son, what he did to Han and the fact that she was right about the First Order.

THAT is how you have iconic characters beloved in all of fiction fail, ACTUALLY FUCKING SHOW US what they accomplished & let us see their fall from that. Don't skip that shit and have them end up being sarcastic assholes hiding in a cave.

That's honestly pretty tame compared to Autist Tallie or the one guy who wanted to brutally rape and murder Aphra, clone her, raise her from childhood, show her a holotape of the originally Aphra getting raped/murdered, and then do it all again ad infinitum.

Watch the later episodes of Season 3 and episodes of season 4. They turn the Death Troopers into just Storm Troopers wearing black armor. They made their aim complete shit, they have NO tactical ability. I know it's a "kids show" but then what's the point of putting them on screen, if they amount to literally nothing more than better looking Storm Troopers? They get killed and mowed down by the main characters with ease and even their garbled encrypted voices, that sound completely bad ass? Gone, they speak like normal STorm Troopers... I really hate how they handled them . Removed all threating demeanor to the idea of 'em

Anyone else not a fan at all of the TIE Striker? It just looks like a kids idea of a bird

I think better of the Holiday Special now.

Honestly the only unusual part for this thread is that he's fantasizing about stormtroopers instead of twi'leks

The garble was always a story effect, you can only understand them when they're saying stuff relevant to the audience. I suppose they could just use subtitles but that seems kind of excessive.

Also I'm pretty sure they are kind of able to generally fight on even ground with fucking named characters in Star Wars, something unbelievable for characters with no names or faces. Like three of them ambush Kanan and Hera and she only plugs like one and they manage to cripple their glider and are forced to retreat.

Thanks bro.
I actually kinda like it for what it's supposed to be.

fuck it has armor 3, not 2

the text description does mention a low yield shield generator

And how is that " they completely ruined the idea and lore of the Death Troopers..."?

Keep in mind they jobbed hardcore in Rogue One, so the only thing you're really complaining about is the lack of a voice scrambler, which still isn't ruining the idea or the lore of them at all.

What are you talking about? The Death Troopers literally are supposed to be some of the most elite troops in the Empire. Infact, they aren't even supposed to be used in normal combat, only assigned to really dangerous "Navy Seals" type missions. The fact that in the show they're plucked down to easily contrasts this explicitly

They at least acted like they knew what they were doing in Rogue One.

>Can I use the force to scratch my butt

I don't know why that made me laugh, but it did.

>Keep in mind they jobbed hardcore in Rogue One
