How could a chaotic evil god/goddess with a focus on freedom look like?

Absolute freedom without interference will always lead to a very strict hierarchy as some are more successful than others. Skaven are free since they don't even intervene as a society if you just kill the guy above you and take his shit.

I actually had an idea for a god like this in one of my homebrew settings. The idea was of a slave who ascended to godhood began a violent revolt against tyrannical overlords that had abused his kind. He kinda went berserk Durring this revolt though and was more focus on getting pay back for personal torments rather than liberating fellow oppressed, leading to his campaign turing into one of genocide until somebody finally put him down.

The slave in question became the god of murder, vengeance, and bloody uprisings. He gave his favor towards those that had suffered injustices and wanted pay back (such as the abused, the orphaned, the cheated and, of course, the oppressed). Naturally he was a patron of both slaves and the downtrodden, and those that accepted his gifts would go one to use them to slay those that they felt had wronged them. In extreme cases where a large enough cult of his had managed to take root, this could balloon into killing sprees against specific groups of people, often those in high power, or even full on rebelions. These sort of things don't always end well of course as vengeance is a circular path, and it's not long before innocent person gets caught in the crossfire and starts nursing a grudge, who then attracts the gods notice for the unwarranted wrong done to them.

Think like what happens in a lot of in a lot of revolutions in our history, where one oppressed group like a social class or a racial minority decides they've had enough and overthrows their government, only they end up becoming just as bad/incompetent as the previous guys in charge which then prompts a ANOTHER revolt from a different group.

I based the idea off of the french revolution (specifically the reign of terror) and how after the king was deposed France went through several governments before Napoleon finally came along and slapped some sense back into everyone.

Or to put it more bluntly, think of it as a god that represents the political instability of rebellion, rather than the star wars style 'fighting against tyranny' side of it.

Think the god of bloody Revolution, the God of watching your enemies scattered before you, of crushing those who would oppress you, put you in chains, leaving them shattered for the whole world to see, to make them pay for what they have done, to usher in those final words to the vanquished 'No more!'

If I'm understanding properly, cenobites don't suck you into their fun dimention purely because they're sadists. The cube opens for you, or somebody near by, because deep down you want what they're selling (It's not hands that call us, but desire). And they take people into their fun dimention because they see themselves as being patrician as fuck and want to save you from your ultra pleb existance by teaching you what real pleasure is.

The patron of the rebellion that wins, takes over, is just as bad as their predecessors, and inspires the next rebellion. The god who inspires people to pursue their passions with a single minded devotion that turns them into zealots, and then discards them for their inflexibility. The voice in your head when you wonder if you've gone too far that says no, believe and act. A charming, seductive, well spoken divine force that is always ready to listen when your chips are down, to remind you that the power to change everything in your life rests within yourself if only you have the will to seize it.

And sometimes.... Sometimes that power is external and still yours for the taking. All you have to do is ask and never, ever look back.

Not a goddess but the river god in my setting is also the god of rebellion and following that: Anarchy. And its a real evil bastard even though many have sworn to bring peace and freedom in his name and meant it, even succeeding with his help.

Its just that the victory is incredibly short, the new regime ends up being the new enemy and the people of the gods river can expect a new rebellion to shortly follow in the following years. In the end, nobody really worships the river god for its meaning, but rather what it brings, everyone thinking that their regime, their new way is going to be the one where the forceful and temperamental river wont swallow what it covets.
