Threw it together quickly, was 1 Dominus, 2 5-man Vanguards and a Datasmith vs 1 Chaplain, 1 9-man Crusaders and 1 5-man Tactical all with some equipment.

Wasn't really properly balanced since the Datasmith and Dominus were fucking unkillable but it was pretty amusing. Also got some actual use out of Ryza for once.

The lore tidbits on the Codex announcement are kinda interesting. The Fifth Sphere expansion makes sense for letting the Tau be involved in more fights, but I'm curious about the mention of the Farsight Enclaves still being rogue, since IIRC the last mention of it had them moving back towards reintegration.

I am reading the new Space Wolf novel. It says that magic on Fenris is as natural as anything on the planet because the planet is located in an area of space where the boundaries between the Warp and Real Space are thin. And this is perhaps the explanation behind the planet developing a World Spirit and an explanation why the Space Wolf geneseed is resistant to Chaos.

Then use the Assault Cents with Hurricane bolters and Flamers in a Land Raider/Storm Raven/RG strategem.
They can at least put massive holes in things, and aren't as overcosted as the Dev Cents.

Okay, we do not have sufficient information about the non war related activities of the major players in the game to make an informed judgment about their political systems. Given the scale of the galaxy and the number of world's represented it is quite likely that most forms of government are represented somewhere. It is most likely the case that the political systems vary even among subfactions. For example we do not know if the system represented in gorkamorka is representative of all Ork worlds. And similarly we know that Knight Worlds operate differently to Necromanda.
No judgment about a major faction would be universally applicable therefore and it is quite possible that their may exist systems represented in game which do not align with existing ideas

Although it really depends from planet to planet, one planet might be an Orwellian oligarchy, while another a hippie socialist paradise, it entirely depends on the planetary governor/representatuve of that planet, so long as the planet pays it'd tithes and recognizes the emperor as the supreme ruler and deity of humankind, the rest is up to them

There are more like the guys who switched sides to the Red Corsairs. The Canis makes them resistant to Chaos mutation and corruption but it does nothing to affect the morality of marines.

They're decent to model bases with. Shit like a Commisar with a dead Ork skewered by his rapier on the ground while shooting into the other direction and stuff like that. Also to decorate fortifiactions with. Pretty useless for the actual models they come with usually though. Unless you cut off another weapon and replace it with that one, like if you want another Plasma Gun for your Tactical squad and just replace one of the Bolters.

Profile no, points yes. It's a shame, railguns aren't nearly strong enough to carry a tank's firepower on their own. 1-shot weapons only work as tankbusters if they have some ridiculous mechanic attached.
