xth for no points or profile adjustments for railguns.
Lincoln Wright
Would you guys be interested in a politics in 40k thread? Usually threads like that get deleted on pol for being off topic.
Christopher Sanchez
And they would be here for being off topic.
William Bennett
Just finished reading Fulgrim, should I read this next or skip it?
I don't really care about DA and I've heard the DA HH books are terrible. It also doesn't seem to be related to the ongoing story when the first 5 books were all connected.
Liam James
Define 'politics in 40k'. Do you mean Eldar/Imperial talking or do you mean IRL politics in 40k? The former is fine, the latter not so much.
Bentley Jackson
>Well Malcador, I made it despite your directions. >Ah my Emperor, I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon.
Jacob Wilson
I haven't read it. But I recall nothing of note at all happens in it. I skipped it
Andrew Stewart
more like fag weeb edition
Leo Sanchez
A lot of the threads it sets up get cut off anyway, only read it if you want something different, since a lot of it is Caliban pre-Imperium.
Cool to see The Lion before he realized he was a Primarch though.
Jayden Rodriguez
>Malcador >Not Magnus
Levi Sullivan
Gonna be a weeb few months, my friend. And if the codex is good, we might be in for a rough rest of 8E.
Luis Bennett
That isn't the book where Curze beats the shit out of Girlyman while also fighting Lion before he gets BANED is it?
Landon Taylor
>play 300 point skirmish game >Swordbrother with Fist vs Datasmith >duke it out for 2 turns before thr brother dies These die rolls were pretty fucking radical.
Carson Lee
Has anyone made Obliterators out of the Primaris Aggressors?
Gavin Diaz
For example what kind of political systems do orks use? What kind of system does the imperium use? Which actual systems are similar.
Samuel James
> 300 point Its like 1hq and 1 troop?
Andrew Young
What type of Centurions would best support a mostly dreadnought army, or alternately blood Angels?
Ethan Rodriguez
What noise does the Tau players roflcopter make?
Christopher Rodriguez
None, because centurions are hilariously overcosted. You're better off just grabbing more dreadnoughts or finding a different unit to support them.
Isaac Jackson
>By The Emperor! What is happening in there? >The Cicatrix Maledictum. >The Cicatrix Maledictum!? >At this time of year? >At this time of day? >In this part of the Segmentum? >Localised entirely within your kitchen?
Josiah Morales
>Magnus and his crazy explanations >The god emperor is gonna need his medication >When he hears Magnus's lame exaggerations >There'll be trouble in town tonight!
>MAAAAAGNUUUUUUSSSSSSS
Ryder Robinson
Try in Veeky Forums but probably not, what do you think you mean by "politics in 40k"?
Alexander Scott
>I play Tau because I like the fluff >Didn't play until Tau Codex dropped >Spams the best unit in it
Gabriel Morgan
Threw it together quickly, was 1 Dominus, 2 5-man Vanguards and a Datasmith vs 1 Chaplain, 1 9-man Crusaders and 1 5-man Tactical all with some equipment.
Wasn't really properly balanced since the Datasmith and Dominus were fucking unkillable but it was pretty amusing. Also got some actual use out of Ryza for once.
Adam Stewart
Have anyone picture of MK III Marines converted into Plague Marines? I saw them some time ago and they looked disgustingly good.
Jaxson Ortiz
The lore tidbits on the Codex announcement are kinda interesting. The Fifth Sphere expansion makes sense for letting the Tau be involved in more fights, but I'm curious about the mention of the Farsight Enclaves still being rogue, since IIRC the last mention of it had them moving back towards reintegration.
Xavier Howard
See the reply to the other guy.
Nolan Nelson
It's all about the time on Caliban before the Space Marines come, so it's about a dude riding a horse and hunting a chaos-corrupted monster and finding the little dudes in the forest, and his friend gets mad at him, and the Lion and Luther are both autists.
It's interesting and entertaining, but it's also Black-Library tier so take it with a few grains of salt
Landon Smith
Okay but I kinda want some centurions because I like the models.
I also have deathwatch? Not legal with those though. My three marine armies are homebrew Dreadnought chapter, blood Angels and deathwatch.
Hunter Myers
The sound of a man gagging on as many penises as he can fit in his mouth
Hudson Brooks
When no one notices the bottom of the op picture.
Nicholas Ward
I am reading the new Space Wolf novel. It says that magic on Fenris is as natural as anything on the planet because the planet is located in an area of space where the boundaries between the Warp and Real Space are thin. And this is perhaps the explanation behind the planet developing a World Spirit and an explanation why the Space Wolf geneseed is resistant to Chaos.
Nathan Bell
Guys, I'm pretty new to this and trying to prime my minis, but the primer keeps coming on... chalky? Am I doing something wrong? I'm using generic Krylon white primer.
Jace Wright
>Oh my no, our world isn't warp tainted, it's just ij an area of space where the warp leaks into realspace
Ethan Watson
Then use the Assault Cents with Hurricane bolters and Flamers in a Land Raider/Storm Raven/RG strategem. They can at least put massive holes in things, and aren't as overcosted as the Dev Cents.
David Flores
> tfw Farsight Enclaves are reduced to Farsight and a shit tier chapter tactic ( hit on 4+ in close combat) Luvin every lauf
Isaac Morris
Also the source of the Rune power of the Space Wolves doesn't come from drawing from the Warp directly like the Thousand Sons. It's channelled from Fenris
Jonathan Turner
Nice
Isaiah Roberts
The amount of denial the furries are in.
Ryder Lopez
>since IIRC the last mention of it had them moving back towards reintegration.
Your memory is shit. The last appearance of Farsight where he interacted with the Empire was Shadowsun telling him that she is giving him a head start as payback for his help. She was ordered to either arrest or kill him.
Anthony Kelly
no guys seriously we're special and get our powers from a planet!
Adam Evans
Isn't there exactly ONE Space Yiff who became a CSM, but did so willingly due to bloodlust?
Jose Moore
Sounds like Heresy wichever way,
Leo Thompson
What are you supposed to do with the weapons without arms? It would look silly to just glue them on without holsters/sheaths and if I'm just gluing hands on them anyway why not model the damn things with hands? Is it just JewWorld being JewWorld?
William Jenkins
Okay, we do not have sufficient information about the non war related activities of the major players in the game to make an informed judgment about their political systems. Given the scale of the galaxy and the number of world's represented it is quite likely that most forms of government are represented somewhere. It is most likely the case that the political systems vary even among subfactions. For example we do not know if the system represented in gorkamorka is representative of all Ork worlds. And similarly we know that Knight Worlds operate differently to Necromanda. No judgment about a major faction would be universally applicable therefore and it is quite possible that their may exist systems represented in game which do not align with existing ideas
Jose Foster
You are just jelly that the Space Wolves powers are primal and pure. Owing their existences to the spirituality of Fenrisians and fabric of reality around Fenris.
Ryan Sanchez
Oh yeah and the fallen are also not using the warp they are just using power from caliban.
Caleb Brooks
Nah, they had a whole Successor Chapter (Wolf Brothers?) who fell to Chaos. Thus no furry Successor Chapters (thank the Emperor).
Ayden Allen
The imperium is technically a feudal monarchy Although it really depends from planet to planet, one planet might be an Orwellian oligarchy, while another a hippie socialist paradise, it entirely depends on the planetary governor/representatuve of that planet, so long as the planet pays it'd tithes and recognizes the emperor as the supreme ruler and deity of humankind, the rest is up to them
Grayson King
>the fabric of reality around Fenris is warp tainted >wolves aren't using the warp
Ayden Martin
There are more like the guys who switched sides to the Red Corsairs. The Canis makes them resistant to Chaos mutation and corruption but it does nothing to affect the morality of marines.
Luke Johnson
>not putting them on bases, objective markers etc etc
Cooper Williams
NOT ANYMORE There are WOLFMARIS YIFFSTARTES. Sanctioned by LORD GUILLIMAN himself!
Nathan Edwards
"muh powers are primal and pure" *manifests dark hereticus discipline*
Levi Sullivan
They're decent to model bases with. Shit like a Commisar with a dead Ork skewered by his rapier on the ground while shooting into the other direction and stuff like that. Also to decorate fortifiactions with. Pretty useless for the actual models they come with usually though. Unless you cut off another weapon and replace it with that one, like if you want another Plasma Gun for your Tactical squad and just replace one of the Bolters.
Jordan Martinez
>what are conversions Also what makes you think these future tech weapons even need a scabbard?
Aiden Johnson
Hello, I'm a Blood Angel and I'm here today to talk about the powers of Baal. Our less informed friends in the inquisition might think we're channelling the warp when our librarians sprout massive wings and fly across the battlefield, but we're actually just chanelling the spiritual power of the Baal system and the people on it. Summoning daemons? Nope! Just friendly projections of the Baal world spirit! Bloodthirsty rituals dedicated to Khorne? Nope! Just friendly pagan worship honouring the Emperor and the homeworld of all true Blood Angels.
Ryder Bailey
>Salt water that goes through a desalination filter is still salt water
This is your brain on Magnus.
Brody Anderson
They aren't nearly as furry as the orginials, since they dont have 50+ items called wolf/frost nor are drowning in pelts and whatever shit they found laying around the trash heap behind the tanner.
Robert Brooks
>The warp filter that is Fenris hasn't been changed in at least ten thousand years.
Joseph Sanders
>it's revealed that the kraken are indeed ancient tyranids >they've infected the population eons ago and the population is basically very diluted GSC >they're not controlled by the kraken, but they are able to draw on their hive mind like tyranids do >mfw space wolves are half-man, half-wolf, half-xenos, half-psyker who don't use the Warp
Liam Morris
>playing fast a loose with the warp is a good idea in any form It's all bad for you.
Josiah Richardson
>paying out the ass for FW upgrade kit and still do everything yourself.
Justin Gomez
that's not how generstealer hybrids work
Luke Cooper
You're in the wrong hobby.
Christopher Hall
...
Logan Williams
>Skitarii come with 1 of each weapon >there's a gun looking line a holstered Arquebus in the Dragoon kit >can't just glue it to the back of your Omnispex/Data-Tether dude to easily have another Arquebus when you need it because you'd have to put him on a bigger base for that God dammit.
Lucas Morgan
Around the 3rd generation the environment of fenris got too much for them so everyone changed their genes to be wolves thus fucking over the genestealer stuff.
Nathaniel Foster
Profile no, points yes. It's a shame, railguns aren't nearly strong enough to carry a tank's firepower on their own. 1-shot weapons only work as tankbusters if they have some ridiculous mechanic attached.
>a supplement for the space marine game It is not a good pain.
Oliver Powell
Anyone read the new Eisenhorn novel yet? I am worried they might have ruined him completely.
Owen Diaz
I'm working on using DG terminators.
Jaxson Lee
Yeah, it's been established pretty consistently. Suck it yiff haters, the wolf fuckers were right about their psykers being different.
Julian Hughes
>gatekeeping
Isaac Sanchez
This is only another reason to the pile of why wolves are a shit. they are the ultimate special snowflakes of the setting.
Luis Myers
...
Elijah Sanchez
Black Templars have the best fucking aesthetic out of all Marines
Justin Clark
>i can't use these weapons without scabbards and such >no i don't want to make them I mean the problem is entirely your autism.
Daniel Watson
Just because the yiffs believe it to be the case doesn't mean it is. I mean, Ahriman did mindfuck a SW psyker and dragged his mind/soul into the warp to show him what a hypocrit he was during the Prospero novel(?).
Owen King
Orks beat the shit out of each other to see who is in charge, kind of like ancient barbarian hordes
Maybe comparable to packs battling to be leader, though sex is not a reward
Adam Wright
>powerfists wrong
Cooper Morris
nah gk, elves, and tau still exist
Sebastian Garcia
>calling me out for not having the most basic of skills this hobby requires is gatekeeping
Eli Russell
I enjoy the butthurt over the SW way more than I hate their snowflakeness. They're already Marines, a few degrees of Sueness doesn't matter much to me. Plus I unironically like their aesthetic.
Carter Fisher
>Black and white armour
Ryder Murphy
How do pure scion lists work? I like the idea of hardened normal human troops punishing horrors of this galaxy through their use of special equipment.
Nathan Allen
I'm the first guy, who said this isn't his hobby. I don't want to gatekeep, but if paying out the ass to do your own conversions isn't your thing, you're going to be disappointed. I'm not this asshole.
Nolan Parker
They point out the enemy with their plasma guns
Oliver Cruz
>needing anything more with fuckawesome robes and regalia and medieval knight helmets
Austin Wilson
>kit doesn't come with weapons you wanted >too new to the hobby to have a million extra bits hanging around God dammit...I just wanted a poweraxe
David Adams
What games have you all been playing, anons?
Went into a game today hoping to write a BR for you guys, but my opponent conceded after his first turn when all his heavy hitters failed to kill a single Bloat drone, which endured hits from ten hellblasters, an AC/Las Pred and a psyker-buffed redemptor in range and melee, clinging on to the table with 2 wounds left.
>MFW I only killed 3 of his models before he realized he couldn't win and conceded >MFW he calls Disgustingly resilient OP
Caleb Ward
>Tfw space puppies draw their power from the hive mind.
Lincoln Collins
GW still has rules for models without the option in their box?
Julian Perry
Basically Klingon style If I can kill you I can take your job.
Thomas Robinson
I like that, but I was also thinking of running them as veteran catachans with flamers. Are they too slow or is running accross the board viable?
Aaron Johnson
GK are sues not snowflakes, Elves all do what elves do nothing out of the ordinary, and tau are weebs with plot armor.
John Young
S6 +D3 >autism
Logan King
That's why you go to the FLGS and ask the others to trade.
Try getting your hands on some Castellan Axe heads, with a bit of cutting you can slap them on any old haft and call it a day.
