1st for Glory to The Guard!

I thought they were star systems, personally. Still, given that Tau haven't been expanding across space for that long no individual world is going to have much of a population compared to the juggernauts of industry that are Forge, Hive and Industrial worlds.

*blocks your path*

Enlist today!

Glory to the Omnissiah!

What a beautiful Aryan commissar. She does credit to her race.

Do I just sign here, next to the swastika?

>Interesting. The spirit of Fenris reached out into the Warp and plucked baby Russ from the grasp of the Chaos Gods and sent him to Fenris's surface to be raised by wolves. Now and Forever, her son and hero.
It's from previous thread. Is it true or not? Source?

Not you, untermensch. This regiment only accepts alpha males.

Such is life.

mediafire.com/file/bn3u2mptbkzbtcm/Forgeworld.zip

To the guy looking for the OOP forgeworld stuff - here are the catalogues I have for them. I'm sure its pretty much all of it before they stopped doing it.

*clears path*

How about me?

someone's going to get blammed at the departmeno munitorium for failing to provide her regiment with appropriate flak amour & fatigues.

I want to play mono-custodes. Yeah, I know they are shit on their own but I still want to try my best.
Tell me, is Trajann and termies useful? For now I was thinking about bike spam + troop tax but I like banana termies models and having a named HQ would be fluffy

I love Eldar and Drukhari.
Which one should i go with?

Does anyone know if the new lucas the trickster novel is in the drk imperium/post gathering storm?

What's a Drukahri.

Both.

...

A comedian.

Don't even bother with a second HQ and troop tax, you're probably just going to use the command points to arrange deep strikes anyhow.

Grab a contemptor Achillus and a contemptor excelsior, fill up heavily on bikes then maybe throw in a few token foot guys at the end.

This user knows

I don't want soup, i want mono-army

>Type out an army list
>Veeky Forums thinks it's spam

What's causing this anons, it's just a guard army list?

I want some opinions on it before I start converting infantry

I dont expect less of the Space Reich

>I don't want soup, i want mono-army

i thought that was a harlequin

I have a rule that I'm not supporting forge world. IMO they are 10 times worse company than GW

oh you mean a dark eldar

No a comedian needs to be funny.

What's a dark eldar?

Ynnari is its own army.

soup is shit and kills the hobby

Post the codex that proves your point
Not index

Then don't play Custodes, moron.

which scheme do you like most for my Khaine worshiping craftworld? any suggestions?

>Post the thing that proves your point
>Not that though, or that, or that.

According to the name (Shas'la T'au Sha'ng ), yes, but it can safely retconned as I doubt many fans remember his alien name.

Veeky Forums doesn't play the game user.

Yeah I thought so too but plenty of WAACfags told me it was 100% fluffy and leads to tons of unique lists and thus is ok.

So where do i start in building an army list?

Making Deathguard. I have a plagueburst crawler, three deathshroud bodyguards, and every Plague Marine, Lord of Contagion from the starter box.

I also have an Imperial Knight. I couldn't resist buying it

choice 4
the rest are too dark

Choice 3, but 4 is good too.

>Same company
>Actually preview their products
>Make cool specialist kits that wouldn't necessarily sell in bulk otherwise
>Monstrously understaffed

Wow such assholes.

So I guess orks, necrons, sisters of battle and deldar aren't their own army now?

a drukhari?

>moron
user, I listed all units I want to use in my post. You are the one talking about forge world stuff I didn't even mention

Weird. Never heard that name for them before.

You're non-shit models that aren't bikes are gonna be FW, and in some cases the better looking models are FW.

choice 3 or 4
orange is Khaine, Red is Khorne

Thanks for all the help guys. I realized having so much plasma meant I would be going away from the Death Guard theme too much.

I replaced on Plasma Plague unit with Blight launchers and added a Noxious Blightbringer to allow the plague marines to make a faster advance and apply debuffs while they hold objectives.

>Trusting anything from teegee.

>Monstrously understaffed
Not my problem because I'm not buying their stuff anymore
>assholes
No need to be mean. I worked with few of their kits and I find them overpriced and poor quality-wise. Prefer to work with GW plastic than forge world products.
user, I didn't ask about good models. I asked if termies and Trajann are any use - that's it. I heard that termies are one-trick unit but I have not seen any list with a Trajann yet

Why is wound spillover such an underutilized mechanic in 8th? It's only on mortal wounds and two (2) rare melee weapons. Broader availability (like on psychic powers, stratagems or changing existing weapons' stats) could singlehandedly even out the elite versus horde problem of 8th edition.

Trying to repost anyway:

Astra Militarum - Valhallan Ice Warriors

Brigade Detachment (597th)

HQ
1 Company Commander - Boltgun and Chainsword
1 Company Commander - Bolt Pistol and Chainsword
1 Lord Commisar - Bolt Pistol, The Blade of Conquest, Warlord trait - Tenacious Survivor

Elites
Command Squad - Standard, Medi-pack, Vox, Meltagun
Platoon Commander - Boltgun and chainsword
10 Veterans - 2 plasma guns, vox

Troops
7 X 10 Guardsmen - each with a vox, plasmagun and autocannon team
10 Scions - vox, hotshot volley gun

Fast attack
2 scout sentinels - lascannons
2 scout sentinels - multilasers
2 scout sentinels - heavy flamers

heavy support
3 Heavy Bolter teams
3 Lascannon teams
3 Autocannon teams
3 Mortar teams

Astra Militarum - Valhallan Ice Warriors

Spearhead detachment

HQ
Tank Commander - Battle cannon, lascannon, heavy bolters

Heavy support
3 Leman Russ Battle tanks - hull lascannons and sponson heavy bolters
3 Leman Russ Exterminators - hull lascannons and sponson heavy bolters
3 Basilisks - hull heavy bolters

total - 2998pts

it should only work with melee weapons, and I only say that because I want my big units to be able to smash through squads of infantry like bowling pins

Then play Orks, Necrons or Tau. This is 8th edition.

There is perhaps no worse army to play mono than custodies for a never FW-er. Even renegades and heretics can be done purely through conversions and paintjobs of GW plastics.

Allarus are bad, Trajann is pretty okay.

3 or 4. why the red hands? Doesn't contrast well with the orange.

>Khaela Mensha Khaine the bloody handed god

>every plague marine
Wut?

Typo from not deleting shit

I think I may be dealing with 40k burnout. The game itself has a catch-22: Make points too low and it's "Rock Paper Scissors," but make points too high and it's alphastrike-hammer.

I started teaching myself 2nd ed 40k because a lot of it appeals to me: The Psychic phase is alternating activation and gives a player more options besides deny (including attempts to destroy or *reflect* enemy powers), while Overwatch is an active decision rather than some freebie die-rolling timeburner. However, even 2nd has a lot of wonkiness including deathtrap transports, and charts into charts, and blind grenades of doom.

So aside from something like Inquisimunda or 7th Heralds of Ruin, I'm sort of feeling a general burnout atm; homebrew is really my other interest but I've been more focused on writing my own game instead.

I kind of like the idea of writing rules for a "Gorkamorka/Mordheim for Tanks" minigame; each player has a small "platoon" of tanks depending on faction, and a tank commander, you roll up missions, level up your tank crew and trick your tanks out in ad-hoc equipment, etc. Thoughts?

>There is perhaps no worse army to play mono than custodies for a never FW-er
Guess you can always be a non-baby carrier GK player - that's quite bad too. Well, at least I will enjoy assembling and painting my models
>Allarus are bad, Trajann is pretty okay
Thanks. I will buy a Trajann then and get termies when I finish my list just to paint them

All of them. He got a hold of every single plague marine model ever produced. He own's them all now. If you try buying the Dark Imperium box the DG sprues will be missing, because they just get cut apart for the plague marines, which are sent to him, and the rest is thrown out.

Lord of Contagion is still pretty bad
Pretty sure I mentioned this the other day but ya keep ignoring it.
Slow, completely melee, honestly inferior to typhus in every way even if you're not running poxwalkers since Typhus is a psyker. Inferior to a chaos lord as well and chaos lord has so many better options for weaponry.

I'm guessing at this point you have him in the list because "He's a cheap HQ"
Then get a fucking chaos lord, at least it can shoot things.

>I started teaching myself 2nd ed 40k because a lot of it appeals to me
Has anyone ever tried to brew up a ruleset for neo-2nd edition or other old editions? Like core rules from specific edition and best elements from other ones?

How does WYSIWYG work exactly?

I am about to convert pic related to have power mace and combi-bolter, but if I put a holstered bolt pistol somewhere on the model will it be treated as WYSIWYG to run it as power mace/bolt pistol as well?

Played against mono-custodes and to be completely honest it brought tears to my eyes how badly they lost.

They simply don't have enough guns. Against psykers and high volume of shooting they are dead in the water.

3 looks mighty fine.

Is the weapon on the model?
If yes, it's wysiwyg
If no, it's not

Good on you user. You might be little bit of a sperg about FW, but you're doing 40k right aside from that. I'd take a hundred people like you over a waacfag or grey-tider.

what you see is the equipment the model has

we here at departmento munitorum dont get blammed for minor oversights like that.
or bigger oversights.
we usually attribute it to communication error or something.
that is IF somebody finds out.
and IF that happens within the lifespan of the person responsible
and IF you could find the person responsible

so nope. we dont get blammed.
enjoy your thermo-winter gear for your desert planet assignment. we included an extra set of standard-Mk4 icepicks for your sand crawling.

People who are die-hard for the WYSIWYG rules are retarded. Unless it's some tournament and it explicitly mentions whether or not they use those rules then who gives a fuck? As long as you're not saying that some random guardsman is your stand-in for Guilliman then just play by what seems reasonable.

Other than Project Anvil (an attempt to "clean up" 2nd ed and make it alternating activation), and stuff like the Oldtimers 2015 Tournament Packet (which mostly clarified casualty allocation vs overwatch, restricted characters from stacking forcefields, and put restrictions on vehicle loadouts; ex, you could only put one "engine" upgrade on a vehicle, etc), I'm not quite sure.

Inquisimunda is a fan expansion for old Necromunda that added warbands for the Inquisition, Guard kill-teams, Chaos Cults, Eldar Pirates, Freebooters, etc. while giving each warband an "Influence" rating (how much legal pull you have) versus a "Corruption Rating" (how much illicit leverage you have).

It's pretty cool IMO since it spotlights all the esoteric parts of the 40k universe, from Tarellian Dog Soldiers, to allowing you to play as the Temple Tendency.

Tau have orbital habitats over many world's due to their population. Agrellon/Mu'Guloth Bay had many before Mont'ka, and it's a third sphere acquisition.

What I mean is what happens if I put model extra equipment on the model? In my example the model will have power mace, combi-bolter and bolt pistol on it, but it can only equip 1 ranged weapon.

What was the list? Also what faction makes a good ally for bananas? I actually like skitarii so I would be okay with getting a single start collecting box to run it with 3 bike captains and 10 custodian guard at 1500pts

I'm not a fan of your tank choices. Firstly you're wasting the Tank Commander on a basic Russ. Use it with an Executioner or a Punisher. And Exterminators? Okay maybe one, but 3? And 3 basic russes? Eh. I'd try and get one Punisher, one Annihilator with Meltas, and a Demolisher and then you can have a few regular LRs.
The scions seems pointless. How are you going to get them anywhere?

That shit happened to me at Nova years ago. I had kitbashed some Meganobz by bulking up some Black Reach Nobz with a LOT of plasticard and giving them double-shootas. The "Klawz" were unfortunately harder to make so I went for giving them 'energy' choppas of a sort.

Despite the fact this was 5th edition and the Klaw was the "default"/only option for the Meganob, some ref said it wasn't strict WYSIWIG and so my Meganobz didn't have actual close combat weapons.

Weedy.

not an issue, just don't shoot it. When you play wysiwyg it just means there's no proxying

I do want to have my models be sperg/tournament-proof. So what happens if you model extra equipment on it like I descried here

Sounds like it's time to build my four-armed Captain with Thunder Hammer, Inferno Pistol, Combi-Plasma and bolter.

I've got a captain with 6 pistols

Wouldn't you just give him a pistol in sheath?

It will just look stupid though, especially with 4 arms.

oh shit you are right I though I replaced the LoC with the Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour with Combi-Bolter and Hellforged Sword ... but could i take the fail of corruption instead?

So like Exalted Sorcerer?

Although ExSorc can at least sit back and buff tanks.

There's not really any way to make them sperg proof unfortunately. Spergs will mong out regardless if they think they're in the right. Best bet is to ask whoever is running the tournament what the rules are beforehand. Make sure they're very explicit and if you have any idiosyncratic issues then ask them specifically as well to get specific answers. Porblem is though that a lot of tournaments and even individual refs will have differing rules and opinions on those rules. I would say either try not to worry about it and have fun with the hobby, magnetise all your models down to the level of individual weapons, or create specifically tailored units each time you have a tournament. That last one will be very expensive however. Best of luck lad.

I know I'm pretty harsh on FW but one time I ordered 4 kits from FW (krieg as a gift for my gf and some hobbit stuff) - every single one of them was fucked up. Sure they accepted my return but their quality is too poor for their prices. Some of my friends are still buying FW products but they are thinking about dropping FW for good too

he juggles them

Neutron Laser Onager Dunecrawler
145 pts

Offensive:
>Heavy D3, but no penalty for moving and firing.
S10
>-4AP
>D6 Dmg, with a minimum of 3.

3+ to hit rerolling 1s (you are obviously near a Dominus)
3+ to wound any vehicle, and enough AP to neutralize the opponent's save.

Oh it also shoots 6 heavy stubber shots just for fun

Defensive:
Stygies -1 to hit (RIP my guard)
T7
11 wounds
3+ save
5++ invuln

Can and will be repaired if you don't one shot it. Amazing stratagem support.

How the good fuck do I beat these? Imperial Guard tank company here.

Well, I guess it's simpler to mass-produce stations from spare shipyards and dump them into orbit while you terraform a place than it is to make environmentally hardened cities bespoke on each planet? That makes comparatively little sense, but unless Tau breed like Tribbles then they've got enough room on their 100+ planets for their existing population and then some. If they SOMEHOW run out of room, just grab another few uninhabited planets.

Exalted can sit back and shoot mortal wounds or throw buffs around while providing the reroll aura, they’re pretty handy if you’re running more than Ahriman

Generally speaking wysiwyg is most often described as "if you've taken it as a weapons option or wargear then it must be on the model". Small stuff like pistols are often "excluded" so to speak, it's more like it would not be wysiwyg if your model has paid for power fist and combi-plasma but the model itself has a power sword and storm bolter that wouldn't be wysiwyg.

What even is a neutron laser? That doesn't make any sense.

I'm with you, fuck fw
