Great idea OP.
Can I get a d10 for the Regiment Origin? Also a d100 for Recruitment Criteria.

roll+1d20

rollin

Rolled 26 (1d100)

Cool, so we're the fuckups even the PDF don't want. What kind of fuckups are we?

Rolled 162416 (1d10000000)

Rolling for all of Veeky Forums

>Militia: Brave enough to defend their world without training or equipment.
>Caste-born: Raised from birth in the warrior caste.
Alright, that means Elite Tithe for Recruitment, so roll me d100 for the Homeworld.

>Caste-born: Raised from birth in the warrior caste.
So maybe "militia" isn't the right word here, at least in the usual 40k sense. It's more like everyone from the caste is part of a standing army

Rolled 87 (1d100)

>Shrine World: They charge into battle eagerly, and their very prayers are warcries.
DEUS. FUCKING. VULT.
ok, d100 for terrain?

Space Rajput?

Rolled 45 (1d100)

You got it

>Desert: At home in sun, sand and wind.
Alright, d100 for core units.

Rolled 99 (1d100)

>Desert
>Shrine World
>Shock Troopers
Bad ass

>having fun
SHUT IT DOWN

Rolled 8 (1d10)

rollin for specialization

D10 for specialization.

Also, I'll give you guys the option. We can roll d10 for loyalty, OR default to a 1: Overzealous.

>Shock and Awe.

I vote roll.

>Shock and awe
We're a right bunch of mad cunts, aren't we?
How about we roll, but reroll if we get "undisciplined." Fanatics who worship Emps in their own "special" way could be fun

Rolled 2 (1d10)

Crusader state
In SPEHsS

Deus vult.

>Fanatical: No remorse, no retreat, no fear.
Works just as good.
D100 for special equipment.

That draws an attack of opportunity unless your character has Improved Fun-have.

Rolled 15 (1d100)

>For The Homeworld: This regiment's mission is to demonstrate the skill and steel of the homeworld to the rest of theImperium.
D100 for relations?

You skipped equipment
>11-20 War Trophies

Ah, neat. Somebody just give me 2d100 to finish.

Rolled 78 (1d100)

Rolled 89 (1d100)

Rolling is just context for fun. If you don't have fun even when losing, you have some people that don't like you in your group or you don't like your group.

>Glory In Death: The regiment's mission is to die, and take as many enemies with it as possible
Ah, sorry, NOW I need two more d100 rolls. One for friends, one for enemies.

>Officio Assassinorum

>tfw phonefag and have no email field to roll dice.

>Officio Assassinorum
Oh Shit! We've got assassins. One more.

Rolled 62 (1d100)

And now for enemies
It's ok friend, allow me

>Chaos Space Marines
Of course.
Someone summarize the rolls.

Rolled 12 (1d20)

Is it just me or are we a little one-note besides the caste thing and the assassins? How do we make them interesting? I was thinking it would be neat if they had a shrine made up entirely of regimental war trophies, sort of showing the Emperors wrath/might

>Militia

Stick it in the options part? I have no issue.

Caste born kinda has something going for it. What's this caste like? Is there something exceptional about them?

I got a 12. I guess that means I pass the roll, but not by much. So I guess that's on the level of just leaving a single post voicing my disapproval at this thread's existence, possibly greentext, and then abandoning thread.

>This thread again.

We should make use of the desert thing. Have a coming of age ritual about going out into the dunes and surviving for X amount of time. They're a warrior caste, that's pretty self explanatory. We'll make them interesting as the regiment becomes more fleshed out, but for now the better question is, what does the rest of society look like?

I just wanted to make a funny thread about rolling die, is this a common occurrence

We're trying to make Veeky Forums creative again, so we're turning your shitpost into an army creation thread. Deal with it, nerd

No, I was just playing along with the joke in a more critical manner

From what we have, these guys aren't afraid of dying, live on a shrine world, hate Chaos, and their militia are a group of fanatical loyalists, so it's probably very safe to say that these guys are extremely devout, even by most imperial standards.

Maybe its a death cult world, where instead of becoming stormtroopers, the elite recruits are taken for training in the assassinorum.

Maybe the war trophies are stuff from CSM they somehow managed to defeat?

As fanatical as they are, they'd probably fear the taint of chaos and wouldn't dare take something from one of them. Maybe their trophies are more sentimental. The first flower he saw after killing his first enemy, or something along those lines.

What if they had a flower motif? Flowers are rare in the desert, but they're also ephemeral, and while they're pretty, they ultimate exist to serve a functional purpose. Translation?
>You, member of the warrior caste, are a member of the elite. However, you're going to die, and in dying you're going to serve His purpose. And it's going to be beautiful
I'm trying desperately not to make these guys a bunch of generic hardass religious nuts

That could work. Perhaps the planet itself has a huge chaos cult problem. It could explain why the assassins are trained there, their alliance with the militia, and their hatred of chaos marines. The assassins scout out and assassinate cult leaders and the militia handle the outbreaks when they happen.

I like indian idea. although the idea of a bronze age warrior caste was what I originaly thought of when I heard caste based. we can play around with a surge in noble births but lack of resources to have them live like nobles, but eventually that would mean a new set of nobles. so the India plan would work best with the desert. so how about this idea

> Dessert planet
> Sacred tech entrusted to the world, enabling them to be able to feed billions
> underground laborers in sacred food manufactorium
>They believe in reincarnation to do the emperors will across different lives
>The lowest class believe that if they do their sacred duties they go up a rank
>castes from lower to higher go, 1 laborer, 2 higher mechanic, 3 Warrior, 4 skilled laborer/ officers/ tech priests/ artifact guards and 5 the priests overseeing and guiding the planet.
>Pilgrims dont follow the caste system but come to see the artifacts they guard.
>The priests dont lead the soldiers officially since Sebastian Thor but do get them sent off to crusade forces when ever they can and do attach themselves to high command
>the warriors see crusade war as religious and go in hopes of doing well before dying to they get sent back to the realm of the living as a higher caste
>The food producing artifacts they're guarding are said to be made by a Primarch during the crusade, as evident in a letter written by the emperor ordering his son to use his legions forces to build the means of feeding a world with as few resources as possible.
>Problem was it was worded in a way thet they dont know which primarch made them the Priests argue about weather or not it was Ferrus, Rogal, Vulcan or Guiliman.
>The political factions are very evenly divided between these beliefs as they are tied directly to the philosophy schools of the priest class
>A secret cult claiming it was Fulgrim forms every once and a while before getting put down

Oh shit I forgot to put this
>priests courted assassin temples to remain on their planet to counter the fulgrim heresy, some out of fear that it might be correct and get them purged

Perhaps the flowers are psychotropic in some way and the people incorporate that into their religious beliefs. Like the peyote culture in some native American tribes. Maybe only the warrior caste has the honor of embarking on the journey?

I like this. This is a cool base for the people and their beliefs. Also explains the chaos issue they have.

It looks to me like they're Marine Wannabes that work with Assassins to decisively eliminate Chaos Marines groups.
They're essentially the "Barbarians" that help give our Assassin "Rogues" the muscle and distraction they need.
Except what if their "War Trophies" aren't War Trophies at all? It's actually Payment for the hit jobs they take from one Warband to remove another.
It's not even heretical, they're removing resources from Chaos possession and eliminating a threat to the Imperium.

And we have our concept! We're going with the Indian theme, yes?
>Trip balls
>Wander out into the desert
>Don't come back until you see the Emperor
Works for me. Is Flowers of [Planet] a terrible name for the regiment
Neat idea, but that sort of pragmatism is at odds with their fanaticism.

I kinda like the war trophies not being battlefield loot idea. Considering the scenario they are put in, perhaps they are more akin to noble born hitman squads that operate heavily with assassins, and claim bounties set up by the priests for the removal of cultist circles.

I think it could fit. Especially if we're going with the Eastern bend to them.

Now that I think about it, perhaps the flowers thenselves can induce a shared vision, and the marking of a new regiment is finished by all the members taking the flower together. Then the regiment is nicknamed after what they collectively saw.

Sikh Stormtroopers with Assassin specialists?

I'd honestly run an army like that. I'd have to figure out a way to incorporate their religious fanaticism into it. Maybe some Ecclesiarchy models, if it's worth it to cram them in there.

I like the idea of the assasins commissioning medals to give to units and officers through proxy priests. The priests could present other awards to the other castes for exceptional service.
Killing a regular Ork or heritic war and would result in medals given to the living soldiers as a symbol that they are ever closer ascension in their next life, and defeating daemon and csm's without the inquisition recruting you as an agent leads to a priest telling everyone that their service was so great they built up their karma or whatever to the point where their next life needed to start right away, with their families and paperwork being granted a mark of remembrance to motivate them further. And a wall of great heroic regiments and barracks to honor them without mentioning what they did.
