What even is the point of this.

making cyoas and getting paid for it

Oh, alright then.

Rim and Aether (2)
Bridge finding is all but mandatory for exploration and growth as a conduit, past a certain point. (1/3)

Tongues and authority (3/6) the first of which is practically very necessary, since I may be pretty good at getting by without much language, but that's no way to lead. The second is just for my own pride, really.

Now then, Aether.
Tower is the basic power, fortress lets you make it really useful in practice, and engel arch as the prerequisites for other things. (3/3/9)
Cathedral is only slighlty useful, but with confessions it because super logistically handy (2/5/11)
That brings me up to five investment, so I'll defer obligation (2/13)
It's a fair few points already spent, but there's not a ton left that I definitely need, so I'll go with wings and orichalcum (3/8/16). Wings are necessary to move around aether, and although this version is drastically nerfed compared to Thrallherd's (which basically makes you a full-on angel yourself) it's still a proper celestial thing. And orichalcum is necessary to actually build towers and stuff, as well as to arm and armor myself and my angels and (once I get to the Rim bit) my serfs. On top of that, I can build all kinds of things that aren't buildings or armor.
The last thing, since i can afford it easily, is reliquary (1/9/17). I like it as an immortality in general because it provides continuous existence rather than a reset, and the downsides can be readily mitigated with enough infrastructure.

Now then, Rim.
Binding is a basic skill for thew whole world, unless you just want nature adventures (and don't like Letendre) which isn't me. So yeah. (1/1/18)
Preaching is necessary for bound serfs to increase without your direct effort. (1/2/19)
It seems liek I've run pretty low on points, but that's okay. I'm going to buy fire, because that's very basic, and writing and society. (4/6/23)
Settlement is also pretty basic, but I'm skipping it for now because there's a lot of societal development possible before that becomes necessary. Instead I'll go for art and exploration, allowing my serfs to pursue knowledge and make maps. (4/8/25)

So, I have the basic adaptations to Rim (pointy ears, time dilation, and long-term planning) and I intend to align with Rim. My immediate goals are to build up a society on Rim, using orichalcum to build towers and fortresses for my nomadic society of serfs to dwell in temporarily, and to store knowledge. Their prayer will build mana, but really I legitimately want to hear about their problems so I know about fixing it. Besides that, I'll work towards the domesticated animal tech, and after a while I'll also get them settled and building agrarian stuff. I'll also build up the points to defer more aether obligations before I need them. And then I'll take biome adaptation and take my serfs to aether, where I can get more aether powers and mana, looking particularly for miracles a fleet of arcs. I'll eventually master both worlds before going to any other.

...

...

This is legitemately really cool. You have a nomadic civilization that you lead via prayer shrines and have a promise of a paradise for that they must have faith will eventually come.

Is this one recent? Never seen it before

travellercyoa.livejournal.com/6961.html

Sadly yes, I couldn't really give them a distinct flavor with the good majority of other shamanists being elsewhere.

As long as the Island is mutually pleased there is no reason an individual couldn't get the ring re-renewed.

Danke user. :D

A little bit, it certainly isn't my most familiar language that's for sure.

The Βάkχος Monthly Gathering always struck me as the most singularly shallow of the covenants and I figured it would fundamentally go against what the gathering was about to include a Binding.

The 30 years war isn't really something one should make light of user.

Nah it's kinda "old". Still a great one though.

few weeks/months old, the author just didn't repost it enough to make people remember

Don't put that on the author for not being enough of an attention grabber, put it on ourselves for being to ADHD to pay attention.

at somewhere between weeks and months it could have come out in the middle of the PPP+ or QP shitstorms. No OC that dropped for a few threads after either of those was getting noticed.

We're the game and the author is the player, it's up to him to play by the rules we (subconsciously) set. Reposting doesn't guarantee success, but refusing to do that guarantees failure.

beyond the doors was noticed

Reposting me build

>Homeland
>Me: Ekala
>Him: Sinara
A Sci-fi vs Fantasy debate that went too far.

>Reason
>Me: Homeland, Battle
>Him: Glory, Duty
I truly believe Sci-fi>Fantasy. Also, ANTI-MATTER GUNS!
He strikes me as a guy who started out fighting because he had to, then started enjoying the recognition it got him, and the approaching title of "World's Strongest".

>Titles: Me
>Dreadsoul
Apparently, I laugh a little too loudly whenever my target's head pops.
>Tinkerer
I am he who thought that ANTIMATTER-GUNS that killed anything twice were not enough, so I spent weeks creating an EXPLOSIVE-ANTIMATTER-GUN (I call her EXAGe) that kills anything thrice.
>Deadeye
Initially, I thought that shooting was fun enough. Watching my target fumble around, trying to avoid the inevitable. Then I discovered the joy of the aforementioned head popping, and got addicted.
>Acrobat
Sometimes my targets actually got away. Not anymore they don't.
>Tactician
Coordinating with infantry allows me to herd more targets into my kill zone. Who knew?!
>Trickster
Some like leading a cat with a laser pointer, I like leading my targets with missed shots, and watching them fumble around.
>Bulwark
My tinkering lab is given the wide berth normally reserved for mage towers atop active volcanoes. In my homeland, getting the title of "Bulwark" requires cohabitation with me for a week at minimum.
>Mender
Bleeding "Bulwark" wannabes do not a quiet work environment make.
>Twinhandle
Hey, buddy, wanna know what's better then wielding a grenade launcher?
Grenade launchers akimbo, that's what!
>Direfist
This one time, a pirate thought taking my EXAGe was a good idea. Half the Galeglider's crew's worth of broken jaws, smashed ribs, and squished spleens later, no one in the world thought it was, not anymore. Luckily for them, I was too angry to even grab a gun on my way out.
>Overcomer(2)
Chasing the Galeglider before it took off and going back home on foot were apparently good exercises.

Part 2

>Titles: Him
>Enigma
He spent a crazy amount of money to build up a library rivaling the academy's. It burned so brightly...
>Evoker
Killing your enemy via proxy while leisurely reading a book and drinking tea in your summer home on a Sunday sounds nice on paper. I miss target-practice Sundays...
>Grimcaller
Same as above, except these were Mondays, and they required head popping... GOD I love my job!
>Elementalist
I HAD a workshop... luckily, EXAGe wasn't harmed.
>Warhorse
Ok, so maybe chasing a dragon summoner on foot wasn't my most well-thought-out idea...
>Miragecrafter
... especially after I noticed how it didn't try to avoid the rain and.... THAT B!@#$. In my defense, I had nothing better to do after my workshop was torched.
>Legend
For making a fool out of me, he was awarded the staff of trolling, which allows him to spam-summon trolls... thus, my arch-nemesis was born!

Autistic science user where are youuuu~?

Been moved back I think to the point where I'm not really gonna put down a release date but I'm just gonna keep up the Dev Diaries.

Still, I can see the end goal even if it seems far out.

Part 3

>Champions: Me
>Even
Truthfully, I barely remember the guy. He challenged me to a duel right after I became homeless (not smart enough to aim for my lowest point, just unlucky). I was in a bad mood, so I let EXAGe talk for me. She leveled the playing field -literally- before he got knocked out by a falling rock. Thinks he's my nemesis now.
>Bastara
I was actually wearing a cast on my head after a particularly bad injury involving a bullet and a set of frying pans. Scavenging for some herbs for tea to stop my headache, I was ambushed by a half naked women who swung an ax on my head. The ax got caught in my head-cast, but she didn't know what a cast was, and assumed my head was that strong. After several EXAGe blasts failed to kill her, but managed to increase my headache, I went home with an ax stuck to my head. She later followed, demanding her ax back, and a rematch. Now I have two wannabe arch-nemeses standing outside my door.
>Azumias
In hindsight, no dwellings on Skerrerthiel's nose had to have to do with more than avoiding his bad breath. I was on a diplomacy mission (the sight of EXAGe makes people more agreeable for some reason. Must be her charm), and was looking for a place to stay, away from the near-cultist city. The snout looked abandoned, and I foolishly slept there. I was woken up from my deep sleep by a murder of crows circling above me, and a suspiciously clean women who asked if I was to be her friend. More weirded out than afraid, I said yes. When I returned to town, she was following me, whereas everybody else's eyes found a way to avoid me. The mission was an automatic success, but I lost a lot of my privacy from that day forth.
>Veveve
The "brightest future" bit is kinda literal, cause apparently, not even the divines of this world can withstand a nuclear strike. She aims to make my path to ascension easier, cause the alternative is apparently a nuclear Armageddon.

pic related

Part 4(final)

>Continued Companions: Me
>Gart
The pirate who tried to steal EXAGe. His captain offered me honorary status as a crew member in reparation. At least they're honorable enough to not have gone back on their word after all these years.
>Me
OH GOD NO, DON'T YOU DARE TURN SAPPY ON ME, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. OK, fine, I guess it's more fun to humiliate you than kill you. Plus, I don't wanna have to deal with my two wannabe-arch-nemeses anytime soon.

>Companions: Him
>Lesseli
I sometimes wonder if she's a homunculus the guy made using his wierd magic... *shudder*.
>Min'ara
She's the reason I couldn't find any decent offers for EXAGEs' sisters. She also sold my arch-nemesis my shopping list, which included a lot of highly explosive stuff, and no safety features. Well screw her and her fleet! Oh, did I say fleet? I meant BURNING PILE OF FLOTSAM! MUHAHAHA
>Ender
He used to be my target-practice-Tuesday, until he noticed all the leftover corpses from target-practice-Monday, and had the bright idea to merge the two. It was fun both when they were confusedly attacking each other, and when they teamed up against me.

Update never

...

Well this one is... really good! Keep on doin' what you're doin', user who made this.

Homeland: Valmivia
I... I remember snow and ice, and someone talking about some... Elivia person.
Arch-nemesis's Homeland: Nush
You came from... somewhere comfy, right? Somewhere far too bright...
Reason: Justice and Homeland
I just wanted peace. I... I never asked for this...
Arch-nemesis's Reason: Battle and Glory
Your reasons were... far more selfish, if I do say so myself.
Titles: Elementalist, Evoker, Enigma, Mender, Beastwhisperer, Tactician +4 to Wisdom
I was a... master of my magic, to say the least. I had learnt spells man was not meant to know, along with more conventional means. And I could command both beast and man alike expertly in battle.
Arch-Nemesis's Titles: Trickster, Dreadsoul, Slayer, Deadeye, Direfist +4 Diplomacy
You were tricky, weren't you? You played people like puppets, and since you were an expert at melee, ranged and hand-to-hand combat, it's no wonder people were terrified of you.
I start with 4 AP

Arch-nemesis's Champions: Tirens, Even, Min'ara
What a... shame. I'm sure we could have been friends...

My Champions: Ilidar, Lesseli, Azumias, King Alzuar VII, Me
I... agree. I might not remember much of anything... but I look forward to our duel.

Fairy King CYOA continuation when?

Does anyone have any dark comfy cyoas?

oh, I read the first part and didn't realize the second part was posted at the same time.

It's hard to extract the crunch from the boons/bindings. I'm of the opinion that you can be as fluffy as you want, but the crunch should be stated succinctly *somewhere.*

The covenants just don't seem very attractive. You have to subscribe to some weirdo fringe movement, and the primary benefit is the contacts you make with among the weirdos.

Stats cap at 15 though, those 20s are wasted.

Try this one on for size. Would you prefer darker?

Feels bad man

That's really nice, thank you.
I wouldn't mind.

I'm kind of headed out, so not gonna go into full dump mode right now, but this one is good.

...

I have to admit, I'm only in this one for the girl.

It's kind of weird, but of all the cyoas, this one has stayed with me the longest. Definitely one of my favorite fap-fantasies.

Everything is coming back to me and the first thing I had to remember was that vow of poverty. Ugh, this will make things harder than it should be. No matter, money would have just distracted me and I didn't come this far from squandering coin. My magic will see me through this difficult time and the next. I made friends in high places and with them I can overcome anything. My archnemesis may be able to end battles, but I end wars.

, , , Sorry, I don't do cyoa posted like this one, with pages that aren't link to each other.

Hows that OC coming along?

We cared why...?

Give me a good reason when I could be working on a proper campaign.
I have plenty of ideas but there is only so much I can sink my effort into.

ETA never. Bury me beside my waifus.

>Bury me beside my waifus.

you deserve nothing but having your body desecrated

Crawling to the finish line is still forward motion.

My computer broke so no OC from me sadly

I mean, if he played a CYOA with a canon harem route that's OK. Pleb, but halal.

finished writing mechanics aside from how you pick spells (balance pending)

wrting the mcguffins, least fun one is done so should be clear sailing from here

I mean, if I only ever made one waifu, that would have made for a pretty boring waifu picker, wouldn't it have?

I made my character a jack of all trades and tried to make my nemesis specialized on a few points. This is the age old fight of civilization
vs the wild, My nemesis is a horse riding barbarian who fights mostly with his bare fists while I'm a master of most types of weapons and a magic user. I have several allies each with it's place on the party, specializing and covering each-other weaknesses; He has only a few allies which are all hippies outlaws or savages, no synergy whatsoever.

There's no doubt I will be victorious, Just as men has been victorious over nature!

Why try to balance cyoas

that's so dumb

0.10 still cant waifu nyx

Choices aren't interesting to make unless there's a reason to take different paths.

>I mean, if he played a CYOA with a canon harem route that's OK.
never an excuse

not balancing makes all builds be the same, only a few choices are actually wort making while all the other are wasted. At that point you should just write a blog post as and pose your writing as a thought experiment instead of making a cyoa since there are no actual choices.

To ensure there are multiple types of builds and fun.

>How's that OC coming along?
I'm glad its Friday. I'm working as hard as I can Regent will probably be out by this weekend or Monday. I'm trying to finish work on Conquest Remake and work on The Magi Case.

That map has no scale. That world could be much large than ours.

Doesn't look like it

Nothing about the look precludes a very large world.

Don't bother. If they don't get it, they don't get it, and it will start an argument.

That could be just the known world, or it could have been that there used to be a Pangaea-type super continent and tectonic shift is just suuuuper sloooooow.

It should be acceptable to balance a CYOA if a option has a loophole that removes literally any difficulty it's supposed to portray.
Take for example Divine Trials on the /trash/ thread. I made a build exploiting the "Waifu" option to turn my supposed opponent for the entire trial into a companion. Use the porn logic I implemented upon the realm to perform forced coitus and thus "Defeat" them in record time with a degenerate wish fulfillment body to boot + a peaceful post-game to powerlevel with several powers put together in order to maximize fetish bullshit and power copying. For obvious reasons this went entirely against the spirit and I'm actually half glad they decided to patch it for the next build.

Are you finally going to explain what Travelers are allowed and not allowed to do? The previous versions have either been vague or contradictory in places.
