Can i have a sword&sorcery style setting, without plate armour, with early firearms?

can i have a sword&sorcery style setting, without plate armour, with early firearms?

what is this, a restaurant?

Fpbp

Yes

I feel like that would be a fun setting. go for it, OP.

do early firearms require specialised metallurgy technology not availible in dark ages style technology?

You can have whatever you want my man, just gotta try.

But plate armor existed along with firearms?

...

No, the law forbid it. The fantasy police is going to get you.

Warhammer?

warhammer has late middle ages style armour. i mean mail, shields, spears, etc, but also with early firearms.

>caring about metallurgy and other science shit when there's magic
What if you just make guns magical. Forget gunpowder, they're just enchanted pipes that push out a projectile. It'd also explain why guns aren't prevalent enough to completely overshadow swords, since enchanting things is hard or something. How about that?

Every day.
Why do people have so much problems using their imagination?

thats not a bad idea, user. like only certain people can make and wield the guns.

nah i have a good imagination i just want to make sure it's realistic that a dark ages society could produce functioning early firearms.

>Why do people have so much problems using their imagination?
I have no idea.

>dark ages
Brainlet, that didn't exist. Just Proddy propaganda that no self-respecting historian believes in.

Adding firearms in fantasy is baby mode.
The real question is how to add motorcycles.

>with early firearms
Blows up in your face early firearms? Sure.
Otherwise you need an asspull handy.

You can have whatever kind of setting you fucking want, you stupid cunt.

I use 5e D+D.

Of course, my child

"gunsmiths", if you will

Exactly, if no one had armor, why, pray tell, would you use cap and ball firearms accurate to 12 feet when you could be using bows and crossbows accurate to many times that distance.

This is as stupid as the chimps in the other thread who insisted that swords were invented only to impress the ladies, and spears made from saplings, sinew lashing, and stone knapped tips were superior to swords throughout their hundreds of years of use by virtue of being longer. That's right, blacksmiths worked to better their craft for over a thousand years in a lost cause because some simpleton with a Players Handbook thinks he knows how the world works. All it would take to figure this out is a friend, a long stick, and a short stick, and they can't even figure this out.

Gunpowder is already pretty magical if you think about it. Just have the process of making gunpowder be a ritual performed by magic users, like it was in real life.

Thanks, I had me a chuckle.
