Infinity is a skirmish 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where it's good to give some attention to the number two once in a while, but don't you dare to forget the number one!
>40 seconds late I guess initiative isn't on the hyperpower's side. But when is it ever?
Brody Perry
Too late to post link in the old thread. PanO wins again!
Ian Hernandez
true thread for manly man. I wonder, if this year is going to be US exclusive for ariadna
Jeremiah Green
Anyway. How many of you are going to order the new book?
Henry Green
>tactical rock >moonbase helmet not me!
Blake Miller
>he wanted some space Rhodesians instead lol
Lincoln Roberts
I don't plan on playing any of the NA2 armies, so not me. I already have 3.5 factions.
Brody King
What's the deal with Human Edge?
Easton Gomez
Don't worry. Some of them will move to N2 soon no doubt.
Aaron Morris
Another Sakiel, Sukeul HMG, a couple of Taqeuls. Maybe another Clipsos if they're very lucky.
That's this year's Tohaa schedule. If Tohaa players wanted new sculpts, they'd play a faction that actually needed new sculpts.
Leo Price
One of them is generic PanO. That would be like saying EA will become an indie games studio.
Daniel Garcia
Before I put time, energy, and money into learning rules and buying models, is a knight-heavy Pan-Oceana list viable? Got dang I love those knight models.
Jason Nelson
There's a sectorial based around that very concept. Any knights you like in particular? Because you kind of have to play favourites, they are expensive units. Some work better with different forces within PanO.
Dominic Long
Hospitalier/santiago knight link team is strong as fuck, add Joanne for more punch, and add Defersen for Hacking defenses, if you run the hospitalier/joanne/defersen link, it can get up to almost 250 points so be carefull for lists with shenanigans, they can fuck you up pretty well, the other option is Santiagos/Magister knights in which you can have enough points to run more specialist troops, wich the lists mentioned before wont have much of them
Noah Myers
Book and box for me, I actually started Yu Jing recently and mostly bought soon to be or mostly IA stuff. Bought Asuka box just cause I wanted to yell Tetsuo when I vroom and die. Kinda sad if they split but I'm hoping Invincibles ain't far away.
Christopher Foster
Played 4 games in the last 2 weeks, out of my 8 total ones. 6 were against Haqq and 2 against nomads. Took my Tikbalang and Montesas for a spin today and taking one LGL is not bad at all, but bringing two is just a waste of points. Nagas should more often than not be either KHD or Minelayers, one of each is a versatile choice. Not bringing two Regular Sappers seems to be a no go y these guys do more than HI or Tags in most of my games, the damage output and defensive capability are insane, I'd even say the main reason to play Acon at all. Nomads are much more annoying to play against, maybe because I just roll a lot better against Haqq and don't have to worry about as much EMP and repeaters. In any case had a lot of fun and the game is great.
Christian Young
I wanted a mechanical squid actually.
You don't always get what you want.
Carter Nguyen
Yeah, just avoid the starter. It's really a misnomer. Start with your chosen Order you want to make a link of, add Sergeants and Support box and probably some Remotes to support it and go.
Order Sergeant Core is not what you're playing MO for and Teutons are shit.
Adam Wright
>skirmish 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game PanO workmanship at work, ladies, gentlemen, and degenerates.
Justin Martin
Delete symbiomates and allow Tohaa players once again to experience the actual fucking game.
Bentley Torres
>taking one LGL is not bad at all, but bringing two is just a waste of points One spitfire one LGL is usually how things go with Monties, though LRL is occasionally nice. Always spread out your options for extra utility in the duos, otherwise there's too much overlap.
>Nagas should more often than not be either KHD or Minelayers Yup. Got it in one. AHD and monomines can be worth taking occasionally for the surprise and mindgames they bring, but KHD and minelayer are the mainstays.
Regular snipers are great stuff, but there are times they can be countered real hard and the link competition in ASA is very strong. Try some Bagh Mari on for size too, they're fantastic. I find myself using both Regular and BM links a lot, it's not like a lot of sectorials where there's one clear winner.
Brandon Jones
I don't have the Bagh Mari yet but it seems to be easier to get a clean 10 order list with them as opposed to the regulars. A no Montesa or Tik list would probably have both. I feel like we could use a few more options in the army to diversify things. Not sure how it compares exactly to MO or Neoterra but I feel like we have 1-2 options too few.
Robert Gonzalez
It means extra skirmish, you yellow belly.
Luke Stewart
We kinda do, but they have their own problems as well. ASA is a well oiled machine with many great options that tend to slot in and out pretty easily, even when TAGs are involved. MO is very much focused on creating and supporting the knight link and thus cuts itself out of a lot of options, while NCA is played by NCA players.
Carter Thompson
I think a lot of sectorials feel that way, especially with their objective grabbers. Kind of galling when you see JSA adding still more options
Ethan Peterson
>options that tend to slot in and out pretty easily
This. Montessa or Guarda, Naga or Scylla, Teucer or Drakios. There's a lot of modular units, whereas say ISS can be really tricky with multiple good units for similar roles in different price bands
Hunter Campbell
Montesa and Guarda could get small buffs or price cuts, the cost is extremely high. I feel like things get too expensive too fast in SWC and it's hard to make a 13 order list and you really don't want less anyway.
Gabriel Ross
>mentioning all the greeks >mentioning any of the greeks REMOVE
They're both fine. GdA needs some getting used to for most players since he's a weird unit with a unique way of using his auxbot, but he's certainly not bad. Mech deployment is a big bonus for Monty, and after HSN3 buffs he makes very good use of it.
Wouldn't say no to a tinbot on either one though.
Hudson Young
Agreed on those two units - they're okay but almost excellent. 0 order lists are fine though. Tends to play up the importance of turn one, and it's best when you have an order hungry suicide unit to spend those 10/11 orders on.
Chase Reed
er.. 10 order lists! even Aleph aren't THAT bad
Ayden Nguyen
10 orders is masterrace tier, fleshbacks.
Wyatt Diaz
We had people like that once, trying to force everyone to play limited insartion. To a point they started to sabotage terrain for events, if they weren't LI and telling people that events didn't happen or were on a different date, because "I thought you ment my exclusive LI event and not that one for WAAC exw40k".
Samuel Gray
>eastern europe strikes again
Matthew Hernandez
Slavposting has to stop
Levi Campbell
>forcing others to play LI >not just beating spam lists with your single group lists instead Absolutely plebian.
Colton Anderson
Am scandinavian not a dirty slav. all people here are great it was just at some time from a group of 11 people 5 were deep LI fags.
Lucas Jackson
Fuck off, using "am" instead of "I am" or "I'm" is inherent to slavspeak.
Nathan Harris
Am Latvian, not slav.
Colton Morgan
>Absolutely plebian. It's spelled plebeian you moron, Plebian is a good player.
Zachary Martinez
>Latvia >part of Scandinavia You're a slav in all but name, buddy. Born on the wrong side of the iron curtain.
Ethan Roberts
Space mining free-for-all.
Angel Hill
First of all I am no one buddy, and second of all Am born after 1991, no iron curtain touched me. I am northern europena, have euro and a nice frendly store to play at. Nothing bad happens here since we got rid of the LI and "scenario" players. Everyone is having fun, and we went from 7 people playing to almost 20.
Aiden Cook
>28mm
Henry Wilson
>no iron curtain touched me I'm sure the consequences of 50 years of communist rule just disappeared overnight.
Anyway, enough shitposting about real world politics for one thread. We need more shitposting about miniature wargame politics.
Thomas Cooper
Sergei is that you? I told you, no private trolling during work hours!
Cooper Foster
Just the JSA pack since I picked up the LE Kickstarter O-Yoroi pilot.
Might actually sell all my old stuff because the "nu scale" creep is gonna bother me to no end.
RV Ninja and HRL Raiden not withstanding.
Isaiah Jones
Fuker, don tel mee haw to spell.
Jose Jenkins
>shitposting about miniature wargame politics. Glass Dawn.
William Collins
Explode Acon.
Brody Fisher
The only good jap is a dead jap.
Josiah Roberts
Me. I just wish I knew what non aligned armies they're gonna release.
So far we have. >JSA >Druze
What's next? >Kaplan PMC >White Star Security
Crazy but maybe >Helot rebels >Antipode rebels >0-12
Isaac Morales
Fenrig imperative?
Jeremiah Gomez
Caledonians Merovingians Kazaks
Luke Harris
I get what you are saying about america kicking the shit out of those russian bastards, but we would at least keep around the scots for the redheads.
Jeremiah Rogers
O-12 feels to me like a real possibility, although they might go the lame route and just make them a mix of the major faction's units. White Star seems like it would just be a clone of Corregidor, but Kaplan I could see happening.
Noah Adams
wallace going full freetard is basically inevitable
Sebastian Hernandez
What other units are Kaplan aside from KTS themselves?
None, but Druze only had themselves and Scarface, so I figured it could happen.
Now that I'm thinking about a Yuan Yuan space pirate faction would actually be way cooler though.
Joseph Collins
thicc
Hudson Thompson
I am since I picked up the Druze and I am hoping other NA2 sectorials follow in suit of its shenigans.
Brandon Cook
>We need more shitposting about miniature wargame politics
Cyber loli onaholes for everyone!
Aaron Stewart
They're neither Slavs nor Scandinavians. They're useless, gutless, boring Balts.
Christopher Price
Generally, when is a dodge preferred to shooting?
Am I right that most of the time, shooting back as an ARO is better than dodging? Since you trigger the FtF anyway - with added chance of even killing the enemy as opposed to just moving some 2 inches.
Jonathan Adams
Shooting usually have more negative modifiers attached to it, so usually it has better chances to avoid the hit. When the odds are close to each others, most people prefer shooting, as you said, it has a chance to wound the enemy, but even that is scenario specific. Sometimes you need to keep that one model alive more than to have a chance to kill some enemy mook and even that extra move dodge gives you can be a game changer sometimes.
Ethan Sullivan
When the Dodge mods are better than BS Attack mods. Eg. if shot at by an HMG Swiss when equipped with a Spitfire or an Mk12 it's usually better for your guy to Dodge.
Matthew Jenkins
When you've got fuck-all or damn near fuck-all chance of hitting. Like, you've been hit by surprise shot, TO, long range, one or more things giving your BS a heavy negative modifier. You might prefer to use your -3'd PH rather than a -9'd BS.
Noah Perez
Yeah, I see. Thanks.
Colton Adams

Caleb Ortiz
RPG GM Guide preview now up. Contains advice on running the game, making NPCs, working with MayArachne, large-scale combat, advanced vehicle rules, and space combat.
Xavier Ross
Anything that hints on more TAGs?
Cameron Sanchez
Nah, they'll be in the faction books and/or TAG book. There aren't any new vehicles in the GM Guide, other than the spacecraft. They just added customisation hardpoints and anything else needed to bring them in line with the advanced rules. This means that there are aircraft rules, but no statted aircraft.
Joseph Torres
>Antipode rebels
Dog Nation sectorial would be pretty cool. Whether aligned with Ariadna or in revolt from it. Though a version of it with Loup Garou as the "reservation police" would be fun.
As a Combined Army player, one of the things that bothers me about the setting is that there's no "stakes" for the EI itself. If this whole attempt at taking over the Human Sphere fails, eh, no problem, we're still the most powerful force in the galaxy.
So what I'm saying is that Nemesis should come back. And he/she/it should make the EI look positively benevolent.
Chase Murphy
There are wayyyyy too many variables to write out any kind of rule. Your ARO is about which of these two things you need more:
Does this model to survive? And can I let the model attacking this model live? These are affected by the mission, the turn, how many points you and your opponent have, etc.
These are modified by how likely each are able to succeed. If it's your opponents rambo shooting your goto button pusher, you're probably going to want to dodge for the increased 10% chance of survival. But, if it's your opponents button pusher shooting at your 5 point daylami, I'd take the 5% chance of getting a crit over the 30% chance of surviving.
Austin Mitchell
Tbh I kinda like it how it is now. The usual human bickering about economy and power with a pretty casual invasion from an alien empire.
Easton Adams
Cool. On the topic of the RPG stuff does anyone know how tough the powered HI armour is meant to be in fluff? Like if a Jap strapped a bomb to his chest and wanted to kamikaze someone important, but gets tackled by a Hsien or Zuyong to smother the blast, is that soldier getting up and wiping jap off his armour, or is he really really dead too but hopefully saved everyone else?
Gavin Perry
Depends on the bomb.
Carson Robinson
He's probably getting up and wiping jap off his chest. His armour would need repairs though.
Grayson Gonzalez
Well yeah, but something like the lower end of military grade anti infantry, so something designed for a nice wide burst with some shrapnel to shred as many lightly armoured people as possible.
Will HI laugh at that because it's not designed to breach armour, or is a bomb still a bomb and their armour isn't *that* much better, they're toast?
Jack Jenkins
HI will laugh, because what your describing is the Explode skill which can do 1 wound max, but HI have 2 wounds minimum.
Jaxon Long
Good point.
Alexander Robinson
If it's a D-Charge the soldier's not getting up again.
Andrew Barnes
D-charges need to be attached to the target though. Pretty sure they're shaped charges, so it would just obliterate the bomber.
Chase James
That's what TO: Camo is for right?
Robert Allen
A hand grenade of the future is damage 13 and has no way of dealing more than one wound. It is impossible for it to kill a fresh power armoured troop in infinity. A direct hit with an anti tank weapon in the open is probably going to render one unconscious with the prospect of survival partially dependent on the quality of the doctor.
Isaac Jenkins
What the fuck are you playing if you are not playing "scenarios"? Whatever that means. Are you just playing kill each other?
Jeremiah Barnes
And how they'd "get rid of them"?
Ryder Adams
Sent them to the gulag, duh.
Chase Barnes
If you are, or can reasonably guess you're going to be shot at by one or combinations of the following: >Outside of your effective range >By a Direct template >By an impact template hitting other members of your link team >A unit imposing negative mods from surprise shot, shooting through smoke, Mimetism/ODD, Full Auto, etc. >In a saturation zone (either through terrain or nimbus grenades) >Without LoF >Only have weapons that can't reasonably damage the target, like a pistol against a TAG or E/M grenades against a Vet Troop non HI. >Want to gain extra movement to switch to a more advantageous position (usually helped by Kinematika)
>It is impossible for it to kill a fresh power armoured troop in infinity. It's kind of the point and reason multi-wound's so expensive though?
And medical technology's super advanced too, plenty of room to believe that those "unconscious" troops aren't currently breathing.
Remotes from various factions I guess could fill in blanks.
Ryan Jackson
talked to the local warcor and another experienced dude about the JSA thing and they didn't seem worried even if the faction does split, cause infinity's collecting and list-building is more modular and freeform, so it's not like you've got a 400 dollar army that's trash now cause half the units are incompatible and it was only competitive one way
which makes me wonder, outside of people still learning and getting the hang of things, how common are vanilla lists? does everybody run sectorial at the competitive level?
cause yeah, if you're a sectorial player then JSA being its own faction really doesn't change how you play at all. it'll only affect mixed vanilla lists (and the vanilla YJ list i'm building towards actually has no japanese units in it)
Lincoln Wright
>does everybody run sectorial at the competitive level? for the most part, at least in my area
ariadna is the most notable exception, but they're not a typical faction by any means
David Jones
Korean sectorial But seriously, why nobody cares about us?SEA and Australia belong to pan-O so Yujing is pretty much China-Korea-Japan.But not a single korean unit let alone sectorial.
Jeremiah Mitchell
>SEA and Australia belong to pan-O
Except Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam Singapore and Thailand.
Lincoln Carter
I play vanilla YJ and quite like it, but sectorials are pretty common. It's true that the JSA sectorial doesn't really change if its NA2 or JSA, but it would be a bit of a shame if the game left behind vanilla factions and went full sectorial. It started without link teams at all, and making non-link forces invalid would kind of make it into a completely different animal compared to what it started as.
Nicholas Cooper
If anything, YJ needs more Korea/Viet/Whatever units now more than ever. It's supposed to be the Pan-Asia faction, but it's all Chinamen know that the Japanese are leaving.
Oliver Hernandez
Implying dirty second class citizens are worth anything as soldiers.
