You never cared about this man, you didn't give a damn about his career (maybe some of gay dudes did), the only notable thing about him was his over-representation in MADs. You only cared about this one very specific image of him, which was shaped without his knowledge and consent. I don't need to know someone personally to appreciate the entertainment they gave me, filtered and distorted as that piece of their identity became in the process of being transformed into a meme. The fact that reaction images and twitch emotes are lowbrow doesn't make them insignificant.
