Good decklists? I want something with a Lily or two. I love waifu.

>Where do you normally buy your cards?
tcgplayer by default. I know I should support local, but it's just so much easier. The biggest horror story is one of them accidentally had their stock of Phyrexian Arena wrong and didn't have any so they refunded it.

>tfw can't decide on a commander
I want to reanimate big fatties at super sonic speed and be able to sac them so they stay in my graveyard, maybe have some blood artist shenanigans if the game goes long
I have a scrubland, underground sea and a bayou. Who do I play?

Sedris

Karador?

>question
I buy from my Lgs, I got burned hard by tcgplayer for 40 bucks. I ordered 20 bucks worth of shit and didn't get it in the mail. I contacted the post office, talked with roommates and filed a complaint with tcgplayer. I pressed hard but they insisted it was delivered. Wasn't broken up over it, only 20 bucks was lost. Ordered the cards again with all the addresses double checked, verified sellers and shit. Still didn't get it. That's why I don't use tcgplayer anymore. Might order out of cardkingdom.
For good deals I got a land tax for 10 because the back was scuffed. I put it in a sleeve and it's a great card now.

>blood artist shenanigans
This part probably puts Karador to the top.

>tfw volrath is always the right choice

>Where do you normally buy your cards?
magic card market

>Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs?
southern european sellers like the italians and greeks tend to deliver very slowly. one particular italian business got uppity and refused to refund when my package took over a month to get to me. the package did eventually arrive so it was ok in the end, but the seller's attitude was worrying. nowadays i try not to order from spanish, italian or greek sellers if i possibly can.

having played just about every reanimator deck under the sun, my favorite one is mimeoplasm. however, if you want to smash face at light speeds then you might want to build kess instead.

i also really like gonti, but he's more of a value reanimation deck rather than a timmy reanimation one.

>thread question
Card Kingdom is my main because I trust their shipping and grading. I’ll shop around different sites though. Nothing horrific besides some delayed shipping. Blame that on the mail though. Best deal was my invocation Rhonas. Got it for about $10 under what it was going for on TCG player at an LGS.

>Where do you normally buy your cards?
Praise be the lord and saviour Magiccardmarket

>having played just about every reanimator deck under the sun, my favorite one is mimeoplasm. however, if you want to smash face at light speeds then you might want to build kess instead.

to clarify, mimeoplasm can smash face too, but it's usually kind of boring because it involves an infect creature and a krosan tusker in your grave. i built my mimeoplasm into a bit of a toolboxy and clone-themed deck that happens to also smash face really hard.

kess has access to red's haste though, so she might be better if you want to attack with balefire dragons and such

>thread question
I was in a small country town with my fiancee in the 90's, we were looking in a toy store for a birthday present for her sister and they had boxes full of loose "trading cards" full of sports cards and such for 50c each, found some magic cards that seemed to be the remnants of a few open boosters and starters, got an unlimited time twister, 2 revised duals and a few other things, wish I kept them, would be worth abit more than 50c each now

>Where do you normally buy your cards? Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs? Any particularly good or bad deals that you've found online or elsewhere? Did the mailman bring you any cards recently?

TCGplayer. I'd love to support my FLGS, but I'm lazy and I don't wanna drive to the store, hope he has the cards I want, and then hope I can find them.

No horror stories. I ordered a foil Bloodstained Mire and got sent a zendikar expedition by mistake. Thats more a horror for them than me though.

>i try not to order from spanish, italian or greek sellers
I can agree with you on Greeks and Italians, but Spaniards have always been quick to send for me. In fact, I got some mail from Spain today, having ordered just three days ago (I'm in Germany, btw).

>Thread question

Card kingdom, as they are actually physically near me.

there's a degree of randomness to it all. sometimes a shipment from germany takes 3 weeks to arrive. that said, italians and greeks typically have the shittiest attitudes in regards to doing their jobs (culturally speaking) so i don't like them. you're right though, the spanish aren't nearly as bad as they are.

>Thread Q
I like to shop at the stores I play at, though I will check around for which one has the best deals. I've only ever ordered card twice, and I had no problems.

>Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs?

i don't think i've ever had a really good experience buying anything at an LGS

the store owner at my local LGS is like the comic book guy from simpsons, down to the sarcastic attitude and ponytail. he isn't obese though so i guess he has that going for him. anyway he's acted kind of cunty almost every time i've been there to buy something. one time i was passing by at around 6 pm and the door was open, so i decided to pop in to buy some sleeves. turns out the store was "closed" (despite the door being open and people being inside playing with figurines and shit) and he gave me a really passive aggressive rant about the store hours. then i asked him if he wants to sell me the sleeves or not, and he begrudgingly made the deal without saying a word. i think he's mostly just kind of socially awkward rather than a real asshole but it was still kind of annoying

This. It's sweet being able to order online and pick up in store.

>letting your deck choices get dictated by your ABUR duals
pleb

I find that a lot of small store owners/co-owners are like that. The LGS in my college town has a guy like that that acts really passive aggressive when you want to look at this in the case and seems generally snobby. Saw him working at the local Arby's one day and seeing him with a fake smile plastered on his face and a kissass attitude was cathartic for me.

got a mimeoplasm list?

>Thread Question
I buy from TCGplayer 95% of the time. No horror stories, but one time a store glitched out and I almost successfully bought pic related for about $6. This was roughly $50 worth of cards at the time

Chainer.

>Where do you normally buy your cards? Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs? Any particularly good or bad deals that you've found online or elsewhere? Did the mailman bring you any cards recently?
Ordered NM Signed Revised Demonic Tutor from cardmarket and it got lost in post because I was jewish enough to buy without tracking. It's 20jewros down the drain and now I can't order without tracking.

this is what i'm playing around with right now.

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/sultai-bullshit-mimeoplasm-entrada/?cb=1520127042

i've sort of depowered and tuned it for my meta so feel free to take out any weird cards and replace them with powerful cards if you feel like it. eldritch evolution and birthing pod would obviously make the deck stronger, for example. and sol ring too.

here's some advice when it comes to mimeoplasm:

>try to only exile opposing creatures for mimeoplasm counters unless you absolutely need to exile your own
>try to only fill your grave at instant speed at the end prior to yours before untapping to avoid grave hate

I'd buy from my LGS, but they're primarily a comic shop and the only guy who knows anything about Magic is the one who runs FNMs, and even then they don't keep track of their stock. I went in to buy a commander precon and the dude didn't know what I was talking about. I mostly buy from Card Kingdom.

scamfag here again
>thread question
I buy chinaman fakes then buy the real card from ebay, I accuse the seller of selling a fake then contact paypal to get my money back and send the seller back the chinaman version, I have to make a new ebay account every few weeks but ive managed to put together a few decent edh, modern and legacy decks, just need the cash to make the initial purchase, feels goodman, fuck the secondary market and "investors" they deserve it

...

have you ever had an issue with mimeoplasm being removed on sight without a hexproof creature to copy?

being in blue you usually have a counter in hand before you cast memeoplasm

I have an old list laying around, its far from optimal but fun

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/memeoplasm-reanimator-1/

Any tips for a Sedris self mill/wheel kind of thing?

Not sure, but definitely run Teferi's Veil

>sundial of the infinite
end your turn and remove the exile effect from the stack, free creature

What are some good Stax / pillowfort pieces in Mardu? I don't necessarily want to "win" so much as I want to punish a specific player for always going infinite and building decks that are always stronger than everyone elses.

Budget is not an issue. Is Mardu a good Color choice or should I choose something else?

sure, he sometimes gets removed. the thing is, i've gone through a lot of different versions of my mimeoplasm deck, and the best way to deal with that is not at all. i originally built him with a lot more protection/haste but i realized he doesn't really work well like that. he turned out to be deceptively difficult and complex to build.

originally, the deck was like this:
>ramp up quickly to loot big beaters into my grave to copy, and then also huge creatures to exile for counters
>had tons of looting spells to consistently do that for every mimeoplasm cast
>had a bunch of protection and haste to theoretically protect my mimeoplasm

then i played the deck a few times in my meta and gassed myself out and lost every game. i only ever took 1-2 players out before dying to someone else. the deck was awful at long games. over time, these are the changes i made:

>took out haste enablers and protection, and any creature that needed to swing to justify its value
>took out all the goofy creatures that i was exiling for counters and added more value removal cards like Fleshbag Marauder and such, thus creating smaller but more efficient butts for mimeoplasm to exile (or sometimes copy) in each grave
>took out a good deal of the looting spells (mostly sorcery ones)
>replaced those cards with various creature-based cantrips, answers and clones to better let me influence the board and remain safe while swinging out
>the creatures to reanimate and copy with mimeoplasm were distilled down to "good value/etb creature, except it can also swing decently", like overseer of the damned, woodfall primus and void winnower and so on
>added a good bit of quirky goodstuff to round the deck out, like rishkar's expertise and shefet monitor (create butt + 1 ramp at instant speed)

and then i started finally doing well with the deck

building mimeoplasm has been really fun for me i've really had to use my melvin powers to figure out a way to actually win with him

>thread question
the judge promo of gaddock teeg just came in for a lockdown/fuck off deck i've been building. i like the dude that owns the lgs so i'll only order online if it's something necessary that he doesn't own.

Have any sellers ever called you out?

yeah but its impossible to prove, I get my refund and they get their product back, in ebays eyes the deal is complete, I dont buy graded cards though because its easier to track

I buy singles online, I never buy from the lgs prices are too high in ausfailure ($160 boxes, masters boxes for $300+, hell even eternal masters were $17/booster for the first 2 hours then went upto $22/boster after they sold half of the packs for display)

I buy my cards from my LGS and trade with the people there at FNM.

Good work user. Fuck over those reserve list fags. Ebay sellers are scum of the highest order.

>Where do you normally buy your cards?

Online. In store prices are too high and they don't have what I need usually. I also trade a lot.

>Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs?

Only my regrets of buying real expensive cards instead of using fakes.

>Any particularly good or bad deals that you've found online or elsewhere?

If you're ok with proxies, fakes etc. Then getting your own printed is usually good for EDH since it's cheap and easy.

I also exclusively buy fakes now desu.

>Justifies stealing because he's poor.

Ok user.

Stealing from greedy cunts is fine in my eyes

>still no FtV: Tutors

>people providing goods and services in exchange for money
>greedy
how else are people supposed to feed themselves

Reserved list is bullshit and you know it. Feed themselves with a proper job, not selling a childrens card game at a gross price point.

>Where do you normally buy your cards?
LGS, rarely online/online auctions
>Any horror stories of purchasing online or in a lgs?
I once bought a foil Trostani off ebay and it never arrived. Worst thing is, I had used a $10 voucher ebay supplied and by the time the refund resolved the voucher had expired.
>Any particularly good or bad deals that you've found online or elsewhere?
Picked up a Chinese M11 foil Glacial Fortress for $4 from an auction. Prob best deal I've got.
>Did the mailman bring you any cards recently?
Non EDH related but a playset of Needle Drop.

I've put it off for ages now but I want to make an enchantress deck, I've slowly gathered some parts but never actually actively tried to assemble one nor do I know what commander I want to use. I've been stuck on Karametra or maybe something a little spicy in the way of pillowfort Gahiji. Looking for something G/W/X maybe. Nothing really stands out in Bant though for me which is a little disappointing.

>Good deals
Got a tropical rainforest for $40 because someone wrote "Savannah Lion's" on the back
And it's kinda worn

>yfw savannah lions were an allstar in the fallen empires/ice age meta in white token weenies and now its downshifted to common in bulk25

Usually online, card kingdom is comfy. Sometimes I’ll buy from nerds at my lgs, got a foil boseiju who shelters all for 25 recently

>Thread question
When I was new to magic I traded a bob for a basic forest
We both were new to the game so I don't hold it over him

i want to build a great distortion deck. do you guys think it would be viable? i'm pretty sure his draw ability triggers even if he's countered

Yes his first trigger goes off even if he's countered

Just found a foil Unhinged forest in my brother's old collection, it's the only card worth over $6
Feels good man

Kozilek is very viable. All you need to pack is basic lands and ramp cards. That's it.

Nice user. Avon's unhinged Forest and Mountain are probably my favorite of any Un-set. Though Unglued island is great too.

Source? Because I was told otherwise when my Ulamog was countered last night.

i feel like that alone makes him a pretty great commander option

not him but youre justification is loose and it seems like you barely believe it yourself. just dont justify it. accept what youre doing

It's part of the rules. His on-cast ability is separate from the card - the ability actually resolves before the creature. Counter the spell, and the ability still resolves.

here's a budget build i put together if anyone is interested tappedout.net/mtg-decks/kozilek-the-great-distortion-budget-1/

awesome thanks for the feedback.

mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-rulings/magic-rulings-archives/278907-counterspell-and-cast-a-spell-triggers

Here you are user

guys i lost a card from my edh deck. it was only worth a few dollars and i guess im excited to use this as an excuse to buy new sleeves.

any recommendations?

Thanks. Wish I knew for sure last night though. Exiling that meekstone would have won me that game.

Then just play with your proxies, you cunt.

Or at least admit you like stealing from people, don't try to justify it with some bullshit excuse. Your argument is literally "People have stuff I want so I took it. Lol they should get a job"

dragon shield matte - any of the darker colors as lighter ones can be a problem if you play flip cards. Eclipse are pretty ok too, but I am not a fan of the dull front.

Dragon shield matte for long lasting results
Ultra pro matte for a cheaper option but shorter life span
Really just go dragon shield I've had some sleeves for 4 years and they're still fine

do the matte ones get gunk on them? ive had the glossy petrol dragon shields and i love the color but i gotta scratch off all that shit off them.

All sleeves get gunk on them but the matte helps
You could use those really big plastic ones if you're feeling ballsy

I'm building the same deck. You definitely want cards that let you get around the unearth exile clause. Sundial of the Infinite, Conjurer's Coset, Deadeye Navigator, and other blink effects are mandatory. Because of the wheel subtheme I decided to add Archfiend of Ifnir, Faith of the Devoted and Drake Haven for all the extra value you get from them. Another card that seems really good in the deck is Alhammaret's Archive. It turns all your looting and wheel effects into actual card advantage. I'm considering running The Locust God and Niv Mizzet, the Firemind because, again, we draw a bunch of cards and those provide so much value from it. I also added Whip Erebos for redundancy and to take advantage of all those blink/exile effects I'm planning to run. Hope this helps.

They do seem to collect some yeah, it is probably the most annoying aspect of them. What the fuck is that gunk anyway?

looting is often better than self-milling in grixis colors, because you only want half of the cards in your library in your hard, the other half you want in hand, faithless looting and thirst for knowledge let you sculpt your gy and hand, as opposed to something like stinkweed imp

sedris is slow so you need to both ramp and have other things to do before he gets going, when i played sedris, all stars were shriekmaw, mulldrifter, merciless executioner, etc, because they were something powerful to do before sedris came only and using them also didnt sacrifice any set up for sedris, because they put these great unearth targets in the yard on top of doing a thing

i also recommend some way to explosively win in one turn, a combo of some kind, infinite or not, because sedris' exile clause means just putting some good fatties into play isnt likely enough like other reanimation decks

another tip i have for you is that flicker effects are superior to stuff like sundial of the infinite or teferi's veil

sundial of the infinite and teferi's veil are cute because you can unearth something that needs to stick to be good like sheoldred or wurmcoil engine, and have it not get exiled. but i find that inconsistent because you dont want to be spending tutors every game on these cute effects when reanimation is already a 3 part combo. you need the reanimation effect, the creature, and the way to get it in the yard. Rather than making it 4 parts, i think its more consistent to work with the restriction Sedris has as a reanimation engine. I used almost all ETB creatures, and then i used flicker effects to get extra value out of them

I've been working on building him as "No: the Deck", basically throwing in Can't Even and other card (mostly artifacts, call it Hate Rocks if you wish) that prevents either your opponents or anyone from doing something.

What are some good instants/sorceries for a semi-casual Grenzo?

So far all I have in are:
>Chaos Warp
>Vandalblast
>Rakdos Charm
>Victimize

Seems a little light to me. Should I just jam a Damnation and some creature spot removal? Or is there some spicy tech I've overlooked?

>tfw no Kynaios and Tiro Aniki alter
In hindsight, I really should have done this sooner.

RIP Aniki

Can't go wrong with Ruination. A bit more spot removal will help. And I'm willing to bet there's plenty of Grenzo tech for stacking your library.

Pic related is my secret RB tech. Dreams is OK on its own, but with a wheel effect it can win games.

That's spicy! Thanks for the tip user.

first off i would say you dont necessarily want a balance of card types just because, if your grenzo deck is at 99 cards and you only have 4 instants/sorceries because you have so many creatures, etc, cutting creatures just to have card type balance isnt necessarily smart

so that disclaimer out of the way, i think kill spells and board wipes are great in general, board wipes might not be so awesome in your specific deck if you have, like i imagine, a lot of small creatures, but having at least 1 is generally smart. btw if you're gonna have just 1, toxic deluge is probably better than damnation ever so slightly

you probably want some tutors, depending on your budget

as far as spicy tech goes, anything that scrys could be cool with grenzo's ability

God damn that is spicy

toshiro umezawa.

an artifact is fine too
>the ride never ends

no, that's fairly standard stuff. Calling it "secret" tech is like calling microwaves the biggest military science breakthrough in history.

Are you two new to old cards/edh?

Pic related is my secret tech.

Fuck me I didn't even think of this

That's fucking hilarious and a 9/10 on the spice meter. 1 point deducted because it costs 6 mana.

Shaman's Trance doesn't look great on its own, but I suppose it can net you a Bloodghast once in a while.

Ooh! I could use these

Look for aftermath and flashback cards, as they aren’t as much of a ‘miss’ when grenzo mills them. I like Cut // Ribbons, for example. It’s perfectly serviceable removal in hand, and can nab some surprise player kills from the graveyard

>throwing in Can't Even and other card (mostly artifacts, call it Hate Rocks if you wish)
examples? it's hard to find much good colorless control.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I'm not quite sure what this combo does.

From my understanding, if your opponent had a Bloodghast, you'd still need to pay BB and you couldn't just cheat it in off of a landfall.
