Tell me anons, what's that one thing you've worked really hard on fleshing out be it for campaign or character.

Would the scion of a noble house seeking to prove him/herself be better represented by fighter levels or paladin levels?

Nerf Moon Druid

Either can work really, the question is how is he seeking to prove himself that would decide.

Fighter. Paladin implies more maturity and experience that resulted in you swearing an oath.

Guys can we get rid of the pastebin? I feel like it doesn't serve any purpose except for shadfag to hide his faggotry.

I think there are a lot of immature/experienced paladins out there.

There are also a lot of drow who moved to the surface. Doesn;t make it right.

>Moonfag strikes back

I've never understood how a Paladin can have channel divinity without strong ties to a god. I would go with fighter unless the house he comes from is religious and he had joined an order, while picking Knight Variant with retainers.

I would make OP, but fuck me if I don't know how to find neat arts on the internet. Never been in the tumblr-ina/pintrist/Deviant sphere

>Lets fuck up the thread to stop someone trying to fuck up the thread

I haven't looked at it in a long time. Do people actually use it?
I think there's some homebrew in there that everyone probably hates and not much else?

Reposting from dead thread for more suggestions (Gargoyle blood in the walls sounds like a good idea)

/5eg/ I need help with a prison I'm building. In game, this dungeon built to contain dangerous criminals but the players have been framed for crimes they didn't commit. I already structured the dungeon so that the players will eventually escape. But, I don't want to go easy on these people at all. So far the prison has:

>Anti-Magic Fields
>Prison cells that have a high DC to get out of
>Torture specialists who whittle the PCs hit points

The players are all level 5 squishies, which include a Bard/Cleric, Warlock, Druid, Wizard, and a Monk. Their escape route will also include traps and monsters along their path. At the end, a few Assassins and maybe an Adult Black Dragon await them.

What are some other ways to make this a difficult but winnable situation?

Pinterest is pretty good because it just steals art from around the web, rather than being a source of OC (and as a result, cringe) in of itself.

At the same time its navigation is hell though and it definitely makes finding the source of artwork harder.

What are your favourite lvl 21-> 30 rules?

Wizard (Lore) speaks of desperation like nothing else does.

Thanks for thread, palabro.

Hardest I've ever worked fleshing something out was for the starting town of the first campaign I ever wrote. Wrote out major characters, fashioned some politics and political history, populated the various inns and shops that might come up, had tables for hand-made random encounters both in and out of the town, and even made my own monsters for the plot.
Went pretty well until my group fell halfway apart and then the remainder PvPTPK'd themselves (something I explicitly asked them not to do) after getting pissy over nothing.
Ever since then I just didn't put in the work when my turn to DM came up because why go through all the effort if your group is shit? I don't mind writing up stuff in prep that the party completely ignores as long as they're having fun with their own plans, but why bother when their own plans lead to both IC and OoC inter-party friction and drama?

Thanks, you're a swell guy OP.

They give magical promises and the universe gives them power as long as they believe in and uphold them. The only class that needs direct connection with the source of their power is the Warlock. Wizards and Clerics kind of learn different ways to channel power that is already there in different ways depending on their school. Gods are generally uncaring and don;t directly communicate with the clerics all the time personally granting them power like a warlock's patron would.

Nerf everything, buff not reading the book

What about some other prisoners reaching out to them to help start a prison break?

Playing a hexblade tomelock v.human in my current game. I took magic initiate for vicious mockery (only spoken in abyssal and flavored as dark speech curses), minor illusion, and bane and I took toll the dead and chill touch instead of eldritch blast. Between my CHA-based warpick/scythe, my fallback cantrips, all my utility rituals, and my specter I'm having a blast.

Remember that Warlock=EBturret is just a meme.

every thread until you like it

one user mentioned pinterest, and safebooru also has a lot that's not overly weeaboo if you use the Fantasy and Original tags.

My PCs are going into a giant warehouse holding a gang's goods to smash shit up for a rival gang . What they don't know is that the property they are going to smash up is actually a bunch of dangerous monsters. They are Level 5, what are some interesting monster encounters I can throw at them? I'm new to DMing so I don't want to fuck them over, but I want it to be a challenge.

>I don't know how to find neat arts on the internet
Hone your Google-fu. It's been years since I've had trouble finding all but the most niche character and fantasy landscape art just by trying a search engine or two.

>because why go through all the effort if your group is shit?

Change groups. Be amazing DM.

Post art you use for your Paladins. Fellow anons guess their oath.

Even the warlock doesnt necessarily need to interact with his patron.

That's a good option tp explore as well. There'd be NPCs who actually deserve to be in the prison, but they'll want to help the PCs because they know they're their ticket out.

I used it yesterday, myself. Got a spiffy character sheet out of it.

...

Fucking go all out. Every level is worth 2 class levels (and two hit dice). They must be in two different classes. You can continue caster progression with an extended spell slot list. 20 is no longer soft cap for ASI, but you can only increase an scores above 20 once per level, forcing the second onto one of your two lowest scores.

The idea is that you have been adventuring long enough that you have naturally picked up skills in other areas. You no longer have an excuse to be a fucking downer with 6 int.

Yeah, it could be someone they are secretly stealing power from, but in general it tends to be more personal than the rest.

Conquest. How does that skull not chafe her thighs when she stands/walks?

This is a preview for the paladin subclassthat is coming in the UA nest week. Oath of the THOT. Can someone remind me what the three principles of the oath were?

How does your dick not get in the way of your thighs?

T H I C C
S T I C C
S U C C

...

My dick is not usually an inelastic, hard object.

Oath of being a dickish elf.

Here we go.

Chivalry is for the weak
Expose your strength
Need no man

>Change groups
Actually I just moved and am in the market for a new group. I guess I'll have to start looking online for the first time in my life, because now I'm out in the sticks.

Oath of Horse Fuckery.

memery springs eternal

What will the next Unearthed Arcana be?

>Not constantly hard as diamonds
Fag

Disappointing

Food & Provisions & The Raven Queen & Knuckles

wizard or sorcerer

Oath of conquering white pussy

Oath of probably stole those guns.

How would you incorporate Murlynd into a 5e setting. Would his clerics and paladins just use guns?

The big bad evil guy of my campaign is a lich whose phylactery is actually the eyes of everyone in the world. So long as someone is looking at him, he's invulnerable. The world revolves around easy to acquire scrying stones which act as a television of sorts. His plan was to kidnap The Bachelorette from the most popular show in the world and use that to fuel his campaign to take over the world. The PCs were contestants on the show who banded together to save her, little do they know the lichs intent.

Along the way the hijacked the world's equivalent to the Titanic, a massive flying ship (The Weather light, from MtG). The lich, using a new form of scrying Stone, one which could replay scenes and doctor the footage to show things that didn't happen, to throw the world I to war between the two major nations.

Pure, concentrated disappointment

It is tough not to go right with the classics.

Featuring Vergil from Devil May Cry!

How would you price siege equipment? Also how would a siege work in game? I can't really imagine how I'd theoretically DM it and there isn't much on it in DMG outside of stats for siege equipment.

I don't need it for a siege though, I'm planning a campaign on an archipelago so ship combat will probably be a thing and there are no prices on siege weapons like ballistas or canons which players might want to buy for their ship. I'm trying to figure out how to do this, does anyone have any tips on running such a campaign and how to run ship combat?

Whatever Oath is the opposite of the Oath of Paternity

...

Try me

I would also be interested in this for similar reasons.

The DM's Guild was a mistake.

Having bitches be my fashion accessory of choice with dat 20 CHA was fun for a change.

Wizard

school?

Thoughts on Phoenix Sorcerer?

I'm a brand new DM and I've found out that I like using tables to randomly generate things. What sort of things would be useful to have on a table? So far I've got names, personality quirks, list of monsters by CR/environment, random encounter types, random plot-related events, and random adventure hooks. What else could be randomized? If it matters, I've been using the Mythic GM emulator tables to help with making decisions on the fly.

OP from last thread here. I mentioned sometime at the middle of the thread that I wanted to recreate Martial Dice. Now I've gone and made a pdf at the homebrewery.

Now, I understand that I will get heavily attacked for this, I've had my share of homebrews but not enough to consider myself good. Sorry in advance if this would make any of you autists rage, though I understand - I really fucking hate that Sorcerer homebrew guy.

I would really appreciate any and all feedback on it so it can be improved. I've yet to add maneuvers for individual classes and subclasses, that would come at a later time.

reddit.com/r/itmejp/comments/2idf33/west_marches_resources/

Here you go, this post has websites with links to all sorts of random tables and what else not.

Well if that's your character art either necromancy or transmuter, either can be used in the prusuit of keeping yourself whole or perfecting the art of making golems so they are life like.

I want to play a Sorcerer with elemental brass knuckles, who quicken spells Booming Blade and Green Flame though them. Does this sound silly?

Have you guys ever played non-gender conformist/trans characters?

Remember to ignore bait posters. They'll respond to themselves after a while so ignore those as well.

Traps are gay

That would be gay.

not really no those are good cantrips to quicken

Played a trans man once. It never really came up after chargen because I didn't fuck or get naked in front of any of the other PCs.

I have never played one, but I do have an agender Samsaran (Pathfinder Race), who lived many different lives (Through reincarnation) as different genders and in their current one, they stopped identifying as male/female.

I know I lack the self control to not dive straight into the trap/reverse trap magical realm

A wizard could learn EB with Magic Initiate, right?

Yes. But it would not be a particularly exceptional cantrip without AB, apart from the fact that it can be split.

Yes though it would be a Warlock spell not a Wizard one.

Yeah, but there's no real reason to without access to invocations.

Are you afraid the other party member will decide to fuck your boypussy once it is revealed that you are a girl(male), or that they will refuse to do so?

>(Pathfinder Race)
Shad pls go

What would be good spells for a Chef Wizard who uses magic to cook his meals? Fire spells? Prestidigitation is a given I think.

Sweet. I kinda want to take some Hexblade levels so I could have a sentient hypeman push me on when I knock people out.

I’m honestly not sure. Possibly both.

>spreading this false propaganda

In my mind I like to think that all the characters I make are traps but I'm too much of a pussy to actually tell anyone.

Grease, of course. Unseen servant to help you out. Gentle Repose is excellent for preserving fresh meat indefinitely, especially in a world without refrigeration. Mage hand for the same reason as unseen servant. Create bonfire.

>Prestidigitation is a given I think.
Prest would be regarded as magical MSG used by charlatans and hacks as far as real chefs are concerned.

>game with possiblity of anything your imagination can conjure up
> in target you can't target specific body parts or have specific effects happen
>instead it plays with the same limitations of a videogame, just doing different types of elemental or physical damage
>characters movement or condition doesn't change in any way depending on how much life force you have left
Man, surely this could have been made with some more creativity? This is like an alpha version of x-com with only the most basic features in place.

>Even at the mention of Pathfinder you get jumpy.
Is everything okay user? I only wanted to let anyone curious know where that race came from.

I'm worried about you user, can you dissociate someone who wants to just mention Pathfinder from someone who wants to push a personal agenda?

You can still use it to warm up food, chill a drink or clean vegetables/meat even without the flavoring part, or light cooking fires.

Features are too complicated and scare away people who don't play tabletop games.
An I say this not only because I have an amputation fetish.

You could try some illusion spells.

It could be either through the presentation, making it look better than it is. Or the weird experimental stuff that some chefs do. Like making people eat food in darkness, or changing the color of vegetables to change people's opinions on them.
