1010101010110001011010101010!

>1010101011

Holy shit what are those two in the back on the mechanicus side and are they out yet?

They are knight armiger warglaives. They are not out yet, I assume they will launch when this box does

110110001100110011

Well shit. Guess I'm adding to my mechanicus again. Fuck those look nice.

A box set without space marines? Has something bad happened to GW?

why the fuck does modern GW artwork always have some asshole looking at the audience/camera?

He's inviting you to join in!

Bane?

Or something... dare I say it... good?

...

It's a big forgeworld.

Pretty hyped. May or may not keep the Necrons. Really looking froward to the baby knights.

Not really. They are both meme armies and the stuff in the box is not good in the game or particularly impressive.

>Let me tell you about Warhammer

I can understand labeling the mech as meme army, but crons?

Its nice but I only want the Knights so I'll skip it. I hope they show more than just this at GAMA next week.

someone spiked the company water cooler. with what is anyone guess.

>AdMech get a fucking mini-knight
>Necrons get a cryptek with a wargear option
Why do I play xenos again?

Presumably because you think imperial armies don't provide what your looking for. I'm guessin your probably one of those guys who never plays human if he can help it and goes straight for the special snowflake option if given the chance, then bitches when it comes back to bite him.

>Presumably because you think imperial armies don't provide what your looking for
It's more that Necrons used to be better. It's been a gradual downhill slide ever since 5th edition.

Fair enough.

Have you played Necrons in 8th edition?

When will the binary nene die? I play mech and I cringe and die a little inside every time I see it.

I'm fucking pissed.

I swore I wouldnt' buy any miniatures this year until I catch up on my backlog. And they go and release this shit. A box kit with exactly what I want for two armies I play that are both still entirely grey.

Fucking shit. I'm sure this is going to be a limited release, too, isn't it.

Nope. How bad is it?

That's a pretty anaemic looking set, especially for necron players. Any idea how much it costs?

I feel really bad playing against Necron players currently. I hope things change with their codex, for their sake.

I've just noticed that the legs are fixed pose again. Much like the striders, rather than make them posable they made two mono pose legs and you decide which side they go on. Lazy as fuck really.

When text to binary translators are removed from the internet, is my guess.
It's kinda funny that it adds more time for people to do it, when in fluff they use binary bursts because it's quicker than talking.

Losing the FNP style Reanimation Protocols was a big blow. It's too easy to wipe a squad of warriors or immortals, completely removing the entire point of Necrons being the hard to kill army.

Seriously, how bad is it ? Give me a scale from 1 to fucked and some explanation.

So less than £115 unless I've fucked up basic addition (which is possible)

I thought they got to just get back up now? Haven't played in a while and no one plays crons here but I was under the impression that a sufficiently large blob was damn near imovable.

>Record scratch
>Music stops
Yep, that is me. You probably wonder how I ended up here

They saw how well AdMech (Cawl) and Knights have been selling and thought "let's make 'em a box, just throw some NPC jobbers in with it for free"

I would be hyped if Wraiths and Pariah's returned, but since they haven't...

Hey Gabriel. Sucks about those wraithguard... Do you think he will give back the missing bits?

Me, I bought the AdMech start collecting box and want to get back in to 40K after not playing since third ed, this released at exactly the right time for me.

>I thought they got to just get back up now?
Yeah, it functions like the old We'll Be Back. Roll at the beginning of your turn to see which dead models get up.

If you wipe the squad (relatively easy to do if its 10 models), then none of them come back, and they never get a chance to benefit from the rule. Meaning you need to run a warrior squad with 20 models if you want it to stick around for a while. And models lost due to morale don't ever come back.

The one benefit is that it lasts forever, so a model killed on turn 1 can potentially come back on turn 5. But ask Nurgle players if they'd rather have that, or Disgustingly Resilient. I know how I would answer.

Makes sense. Theory and application and all that.

The only army that does worse than Necrons according to the tournament scene is Deathwatch... so Fucked and unplayable at any real competitive level.

This is pretty sweet as a new player thats getting into necrons. The balance of the two armies seems a little bit too much in the admechs favor. Should have included a stalker instead of the wraiths

There has to be some crazy changes in the Necron Codex for this game to work, There are no Anti-tank options in it for them.

>Silent King waking us up was a mistake

Stalker in the start collecting box though.

Honestly the cryptek-enhanced we'll be back is pretty nice. Just wish the cryptek models were a bit more customizable.

Yeah, this was my major complaint back in 7th, there was very little options or customisability in necrons. The tactic for dealing with pretty much anything was take as many warriors as you can and just gauss shit to death with weight of fire. The only reason you'd take anything else that wasn't cheese was either more mobility, better shots or just more shots outright.

>complete Necron revamp with some new plastics, total lore overhaul, and a ton of character options
>immediately gut all the character options from the next codex
>slowly grind down the lore till the only thing that matter is the Memelord Pokemaster
Boy am I glad I didn't jump into Necrons in 5e.

Well yea i got one from the start collecting box but if someone just buys this the necrons are gonna get rolled

Necrons have the worst over costed Anti armor in the game (oh how the mighty have fallen) and pretty much everything is does not work for them by their own rules. Both the Mono and Night Scyth don't have the Transport key word so units come out of them can't move and if you kill the vehicle ALL the units die no save. Pretty much the whole army has a pitiful 24" range and a 5" move.

Wiping out 10 MEQ man squads is easy in 8th and stops Necrons from doing what they pay out the ass for. Warriors have a 4+ save so wiping or forcing moral is a snap on those 20 man blobs.

The thing is with most armies you see across the table you have to think "oh I have to watch out for x and play against y to win" against Necrons is it "oh I guess I just win so I can try some crazy fun stuff that normally get me killed I can run something a Terminator heavy blood angles army and still win easily"

>The NPC meme really hits true against Necrons right now we are not even a speed bump.

No one knows how tough the Armigers actually are so I'd not discount it too badly. I haven't played in a few years but it'd have to go a long distance to be worse than the third edition starter set.

We're back to the pre-5th edition times, when destroyer spam is the only effective thing you can do. It's finally come full circle, and now I can finally die.

Don't forget about Renegades&Heretics. You can't sink deeper than us.

If new knights somehow were usable in 30k, I'd go for it. But they won't, so why bother again?

Only maybe as a standalone army. R&H are great as cheap battalion/brigade for chaos armies.

Why would you take them? Literally only semi-reliable troops there are copy-pasted cultists from CSM book, with Random Ld rule. Which makes them actually even less reliable/worse. There're many usable, if still far incompetitive elite units like disciples (The only BS4 in army! Woooo-hoooooo! [kill me, end my suffering]), or... maybe ogryns? Marauders with sniper rifles, probably?
Literally only thing you can get from that army, even in chaos sup are AM vehicles.
IA13 RnH rules, were best army rules this fucking game has ever seen since 3rd ed CSM. Incredible customization options, army building freedom, fitting the lore, while still being fairly reasonably balanced most of the time. That thing they call 8e RnH is fucking joke.

Also, chaos Sup is not really viable.

I thought orks were hit pretty fucken hard too?

First of all, yes chaos soup is very viable and some armies want a lot of CP to deepstrike daemons. R&H have the cheapest units out of all chaos factions for doing that. 25pt HQs and 40pt squads are hilariously good plus infantry squads allow you to take mortars, again very good.
The rest is debatable, but the point of what I said was taking cheap battalion/brigade for CP and R&H excel at this. If they can kill things it is only a plus.

Orks got improved vastly since 7e. Sure, they're low-tier, suffer from lack of Primarch-lvl thing, and they're only viable when you use Nobz&boys combo, and suffer from lack of codex, while rest of factions already have it. But most Orks players are happy they have reason to bring their army on table at all. They're better than DW,GKs (well, maybe for dreadknight spam), Necrons, probably all CSM armies not relying on Cult stuff, SoB (they actually have half-good rules, but you can't really play them).
Orks are God tier compared to RnH, where basically nothing other than copypasted IG vehicles has BS higher than 5+ (yes, almost all your spec weapons options and all HWTs have BS5+. Why would you field HWT with BS5 again?), troops are garbage, elites are only semi-viable part of the list, but massively overpriced, HQs werenerfed into oblivion with CA, and Deity Devotions are a joke, not to mention lack of any Legion tactics'/Demagogue devotions.

probs gonna be £95 if rumors are anything to go by

But you do not determine how good army is based on how cheap it is comparable to rest of . This doesn't matter like, at all, and means nothing for any purpose other than tax-filling. Cost/effectivness matters, and here that proportion is almost negative.

There're dozens of better troops options, that can actually do stuff, even if it's just scouting (Nurglings. and pay like 20 points more for something that actually gives you deepstrike denial, very vital part of the game), being scary-ass durable and resurrecting models (poxwalkers), being even more scary ass durable and unshootable (plaguebearers), being fucking annoying (Tzeentch daemons), being minimally reliable cheap horde for screening (cultists)... I don't even know that much about Slaanesh/Khorne daemons.
Sure, you're right,, but only if you really want to cheese through detachment rules.Which I find double edged sword. I'd really rather spend 50 points on, f.e. nurgle Herald, who not only fills that one HQ slot, but also buffs my nurgle meele, and can spam smite, compared to Renegade Commander, who is cheap, and can spam existential sadness and regret in player fielding him, at best.
Also
>I want chaos sup brigade for stratagems
>needs to fill other detachments to have any decent stratagems, all of decent ones work on keyworded units

>Just bought 80 GBP to pad out and complete my Thousand Sons
>This shit comes out
>Already have necrons but like random models that come up to 1K, thought I'd expand them at some point in the future, but not now
>Also mini knights can convert into TS Contemptors with some egyptian parts
>Dominus has power walking stick
>Rangers got vintage revolver rifles and a fucking jezzail

More like Walletbane, amirite?

That would be pretty sweet, I've got a local store that does GW at a discount so this is pretty much an auto buy for me. I hope there's a lot of people out there looking for cheap Necrons.

It comes out to roughly a Start Collecting box price if you split it evenly with another person.

Once market saturates, it will be way cheaper, the same way DI halfs are/were.

I understand what you mean with taking units that have impact on the field and wanting to pay more for them, but that isn't the point. You take R&H battalion or brigade, then max out points on deepstriking bloodletters, pink horrors and other units like daemon princes. All in their own detachments to get access to stratagems.

Honestly I don't know why you decided to have this debate in AdmechVSCrons shilling thread, but do some research on tournament armies from recent LVO to see what I mean. It works and very well.

Only excited for the Armiger Warglaives or whatever the little knights are called. My knight will finally get some buddies.

I got more than enough rangers I have yet to paint and I don't play crons. Probably split the cost with someone else.

super stoked for this box set, it'll give my brother a force to play against my crons. I was going to paint him space marines but would prefer to do dopesmoker-themed admech anyway as they would be more fun to paint anyways.
only problem is I already painted my necron army as Mephrit dynasty (olive drab with orange weapons) and I'm afraid they'll be too similar color wise to the admech if I make them Weedians. Should I still go for weedians on dune bases or come up with a higher contrasting army color for the admech?

Yeah but I don't have anyone to split it with. At the end of the day though I won't be too put out if I had to keep the Necrons. They'll just go to the deepest darkest reaches of my backlog for the far off day when I think to myself "Yes, now is the time for space skeletons."

Agreed. It's just in the way and never funny.

>mfw buying cheapo immortals and lychguard will never be easier

Magos Biologis, I'm Martian Mechanicum.

>making deathmarks instead of just more immortals

Exactly my point.
I fucking love deathmarks, but at $33 dollars for 5...why the fuck are you wasting money on memes instead of the bread and butter of your army?

If I hadn't replaced my penal with a floppy drive, I'd be as hard as plasteel.

Yes, they are boring. 40k is boring. That being said I do want those baby knights & I think everything is usable on the necron side (I'd just turn the sheild guys into immortals).

I hope this comes with fluff, necrons & admech are my favorite.

>2nd Edition
>Modern

>two armies I like
guess I have no excuse to not start playing the game. I was torn between not playing and findong someone who would pay the death guard half of the primaris box with me.

just play with yourself.

95 pounds for all that? basically 2 mini knights? doubt it.

>Meanwhile, Knight Armiger Warglaives are a new, lightweight class of Imperial Knight, piloted by Knights in training, lesser members of noble households or just commoners with an uncanny knack for mechanised warfare.
How does a knight house identify peasants who are good at mechs? People brainwashed by their machines into feudal autistic warlords don't particularly seem like the type to go looking for peasant prodigies.

>box set with my two fav factions
Almost enough to make me consider picking up 40k again

>How does a knight house identify peasants who are good at mechs?

>You like you'll do. Climb into this noble machine and show me your that you have what it takes to fight for our house.
>But I have no idea how to-
>I said get in.

It has the following

Mechanicus forces:
10x Skitarii $39
1x Techpriest Dominus $36
2x Armiger Warglaives $??

Necron forces:
1x Cryptek $??
5x Lychguard $33
5x Immortals $33
3x Canoptek Wraiths $47

Total of $188USD, now GW sells these at 50% off the actual price and the prices for these box sets are between $160-200USD so £95 isnt so far fetched when the Knights are most likely $50-80USD each which would turn the box into $350USD total value or $180 for the whole box.

The Knights look to be the same size as Dragoons so probably same price as well.

Depends on the house, planet, knight, and several circumstances

But like I said, unless they've already retconned the new knight fluff (which admittedly, 100% possible), their Thrones brainwash them into feudal order nuts who get obsessed over tedious rituals. Letting peasants near your metaphorical plate mail and family training sword doesn't seem to fit very nicely within those parameters. Though I suppose there's always exceptions when GW wants one.

>their Thrones brainwash them into feudal order nuts who get obsessed over tedious rituals

So? The Peasant Knight could fill them with peasant thoughts and manners, all obsessed with servitude and dying for your Knight as well other commoner thoughts. Maybe the pilots develop a need to harvest the crops.
