Has anyone tried buying dice off of Aliexpress?

Has anyone tried buying dice off of Aliexpress?

>Funny Dice

>buying anything off aliexpress
Enjoy your cancer and bait and switch scams with no possible recourse.

I bought a fuckton of self-bondage, toys, and cheap dress-up stuff from there already, and it was generally up to par. It wasn't that bad in that department, but now I want to focus on my other hobbies.

Enjoy your ass cancer.

I bought two sets of dice from Aliexpress and they are fine. Hope that helps.

I didn't buy them off Ali Express but I bought a set of those pink dice from my LGS. They are really flashy and look great.

They are also extremely light and the D20 is probably 10% smaller than the rest of mine.

Why would I buy inferior foreign made dice when I could buy sharp edged American dice?

>Dips the tray as they hit to help them not bounce
I'm on to you.

yep. Had to dig hard for someone that only selled D12s and not packs with every type of dice

They're alright

pic related are fucking good, lil bit expensive but look great on walking ballistas

Those dice look pretty sexy.

I can't think why you'd have a problem, unless you need them in a hurry or something. Aliexpress is legit and if the seller/your postman fucks you over they will sort it out.

Buying cheap, plastic-y things from places like aliexpress is usually fine for me, as long as the weight is generally even it should be fine I'd imagine.
They might not be the prettiest, but I imagine they'd work.

>not be the prettiest
I bought a set of fancy dice a long while ago when I was like 14 and I'm now regretting them because they seem to have weight issues and they're also hardly readable. Pic related.

Yeah buying "special" dice is a real bitch
possible issues include
>weight problems
>legibility
>cost of having more than one set i.e. multiple d6s or god forbid you want more d12s
>meme materials like metal or stone
And that's ignoring costs

If it helps at all, I got a set of pic related from my parents for Christmas last year and they roll pretty fine I think. They have laser etching on them on the numbers and illustrations (the axes and hammers) which could potentially affect rolls, but I'm sure it's not any different than regular dies having indents for their numbers to indicate. They turn heads at my LGS when I use them at least, and they're just fun to use so that alone makes them worth it IMO.

I've heard their metal ones are too heavy for actually playing with though and will likely just put dents into the table you're playing on.

Why would you need more than one set of dice?

Why would you need only one set of dice?

You can buy solo d12s or any other dice type from Q workshop, among others. Which, btw, are the shit. Speaking of which..
.Yeah, they roll fine. Best dice around, imo, although Dice Empire did some comparable. DE only did d6 though.

WHERE THE FUCK DID THE CONTAINER HE WAS HOLDING GO

One of my players uses those. He constantly struggles to read them.

>WHERE THE FUCK DID THE CONTAINER HE WAS HOLDING GO
I could be wrong, but I think he's got the dice wrapped up with thin cloth into a cubic shape, and when he drops it into the platter, the cloth unfurls as the dice spread out.

Have bought loads of dice as well as other things on aliexpress.
The stuff that arrived was genuinely the same quality as chessex dice that I payed ten times as much for. never going back.

only thing to watch out for is colours can be slightly different.

Literally retarded anons
He picked up a shit ton as a regular cube made of cubes, holding more than random handful would allow
The resulting box shape looks black because it's neartransparent dice in many colors, overlapping the whole spectrum plus it's in the shadow of his hand, ergo it looks like a black plastic box.

Also the tray has cork lol

I have and they're fine. Not worse than Chessex.

They do have a disclaimer on their metal doce thah you should get a roll tray.
Especially their gothic set with sharp corners too.

here, I decided to do a comparison of my Dwarven set to just a generic set of Chessex I store in my RPG tin, and sure enough, the rolls of the Q-Workshop dice are way more consistent compared to Chessex, see pic related for my results (dice were thrown 100 times each).

To OP, there's nothing wrong with buying cheap dice like what Chessex or Ali Express has, but do keep an eye out for imperfections in your rolls. maybe order a bunch of dice to figure which among them are the best, and hell, maybe even buy transparent dice so any mistakes made during the manufacturing process can't be hidden as easily like what can happen with opaque dice.

100 rolls ain't shit.

Suppose you throw the die m times, and see side i mi times in these throws. A convenient prior to use when working with such data is a Dirichlet. You ought to be fairly confident about that the die is fair, so it makes sense to choose a prior which is fairly heavily concentrated around the uniform distribution. A Dirichlet prior with this property is the one with a pseudocount of αi=10 for each face i. The posterior distribution given the counts mi is the Dirichlet with pseudocount αi=10+mi for face i. The value of this density on the multinomial with probability xi for face i is given in the first formula here.

Let's say you want to verify that the die is "fair" in the sense that each face has probability 1/20 plus or minus 0.01. This is a set of multinomials, and you can integrate the posterior density over that set to compute the posterior probability p that your sample was drawn from a multinomial within that set. If p is greater than the confidence you require in the die's "fairness," your sample is big enough, and you can conclude that it's fair. If 1-p is greater than the confidence you require in the die's unfairness, your sample is big enough, and you can conclude that it's unfair.

>self-bondage
>toys
These seem like a bad idea, given that the whole thing with buying from aliexpress is you're trading materials safety and manufacturing quality for cheap products by buying there.

I guess that makes sense, though to be honest I'm not smart enough to grasp math above very basic high school algebra or geometry and I had no idea what the hell a dirichlet even was until you explained it to me

Glow in the dark dice for those candle lit WoD games?

>plastic dice
disgusting

Just cheap rope and handcuffs (which is what I really meant by "toys") was okay. Most camwhores and other such types on tumblr use the same set I have, which is from Aliexpress, but they advertise it for like 30$.

The only problematic piece of equipment I got in the most run-of-the-mill Aliexpress bondage set was the ballgag, which has jagged edges, isn't smoothened properly, and feels awkward to use (though maybe it's because I don't like ballgags in general), so it simply doesn't work for me, even after filing it with some homemade means. I can heartily recommend everything else.

The cheap metal buttplugs I haven't dared to try yet, but honestly, I've browsed some stuff that "pro" sex shops have on offer and they seem to offer literally the same thing, just 10 times as expensive for a vague sense of "branding". I know to be careful, but I feel like most of the stuff I got (again, rope and handcuffs) were safe. I wish I knew how to prepare industrial rope, but it'd still be awkward to do as I live in a dorm and it'd be awkward even at my parents place, as you can imagine.
>re:Q-Workshop
They might roll well, but I have a really fucking hard time figuring out what's going on on them by just glancing, so I want to get myself a more "plain" set, and for some reason Q-Workshop monopolized the dice market in this country.

Do GW have any decent dice?

How are these?

>Touching your genitals with Chinese-made plastics and chemicals

Has anyone been murdered with Zocchi dice yet? Because they look like they'd be good for that.

>I fucked up my GM's table with my meme metal dice and got kicked out. What do?

>Q workshop

for what they ask for a single die, I'd rather get more like It's for MTG anyways, so I prefer them looking good and me being able to see the numbers easily rather than convoluted designs

Metal dice user here. I use a dice tray or felt-lined cup. Got both at Tiger for a couple quid each.
Yes, you can mar a table with the dice, but they roll very pleasingly and are immensely readable in most lights so it's worth the trade (if you have the tray/cup).

I bought a fuckton of d10s labeled with 10 instead of 0 off Aliexpress. They took two or three months to arrive, but they were perfectly serviceable dice.

Buy him a cool shirt from Wish or Aliexpress as an apology.

No. But I am considering buying casino dice for my. D6es. That a good idea?

BA and DA faction dice are good from what I gather.

These look nice, but the skull on 1 and sigil on 6 makes me think they are fucked up like most other GW dice.

I don't want to support Muslims.
